This is my favorite spot in the neighborhood. Food and drinks are excellent, very fun selection. Great Brunch as well! I come here as much as I can. The staff is so friendly. We had the pleasure of being served by Samantha and she was great! Definitely recommend for a nice casual meal. Good place to watch games as well.

The first time going to T&H was on 2/18 for brunch of which I had a good time. Service at the bar was great and the food was okay. However, this past Sunday 3/3 I met with two of my other friends for brunch once again(at a table). The waitress came by twice in the ‘90 minute bottomless drink/brunch time’. I had to share 3 times from my mimosa pitcher to my friends as the waitress neglected our table. When she came by to tell us our allotted time was over I asked her to please extend as she barely came by and I had to share from my drink which made it quite unfair to pay for if it was bottomless for such time frame. She said she’s speak to manager and as he approached the table, he went off to one of my friends about some other incident from another visit- of which I WAS NOT part of. I kept trying to speak to him from my point of view as a separate paying customer and he was not having it. He asked us to leave. I have never been asked to leave an establishment. Neither one of our group raised our voice, made any scene and were shocked with his behavior. My friend went to her house and brought a game in to play at the table of which he states she stole from his place. Id suggest to go back to your cameras before accusing anyone. This type of service is by far the worse I have ever encountered! I believe if there was any past issues with any other customer, he should had approached her separately and not come out with such arrogance when all we asked for was fairness in the brunch special of which we more than gladly would had paid for along with the food we ordered had he not asked us to leave. Far from recommending this place to anyone.

My favorite bar. Neighborhood bar. I live in the city but i come to this neighborhood for my son’s horseback riding every week. Food is amazing, everyone is super friendly and pleasant. My favorite is French onion dumpling. My kids love their burgers and French toast. Their drinks are yummy too. They have many games to play so my kids are entertained for hours while grown ups get drinks. I will continue coming here .

This location has plenty of seating indoor and a couple of outdoor seats too. Nice location near Van Cortland Park. The service was very good and so was the food. I had the Blackened Chicken Avocado Salad with the Wasabi Ginger Dressing. After your done you can buy dessert nextdoor at the carrot cake shop. Food drinks and dessert and go for a walk in the park.

I went to this place last Sunday 2/25, Friday alone 3/1, yesterday 3/3. Service at the bar by the gentlemen was great. My issue is the short Hispanic woman with the Napoleon complex. 2/25 Other than the general off putting tone, in a condescending tone she states not to play large jenga on the table says things have broken before, then she comes over again and starts saying to my son he is not playing jenga correctly. My friend had an issue and she turns over to me trying to confront me about it 😳 I told the other waitress I did not like her coming up to my son like that. It’s just a game, we’re having fun, no need to crash the game and tell my son he is playing wrong. Grow up instead of picking at a child. 3/2 As soon as I walk in the older waitress/bartender makes eye contact and then the Napoleon waitress in her condescending tone states my son can’t have his bike in there. It was an electric scooter not a bike. We folded it and placed in the corner. I think this woman saw my son has an easy target to bully or just be nasty too. We were asked to leave by the owner when my friend told our waitress (different one) they didn’t feel like they had bottomless drinks. She didn’t come by frequently and shrugged it off as being busy. After this Napoleon waitress walks by looked over her shoulder and had a big grin on her face. I guess she thought it was funny the business was out the money since they asked us to leave and her coworker as well. Some people do not belong in the service industry. I truly believe she wanted to exhibit whatever power she feels she has there. Female competition/rivalry at play here? Lastly, no one stole any board game. Please check your cameras to see my friend bringing in the game from her apartment which is a block away. You did not own this board game. Attached picture of friend’s game from home.

One of those spots that I grew up always knowing it was there and finally decided to stop in. The French onion dumplings were so good. Never expected them to be smothered with cheese the way they were and I was not upset by it. The burger was done just as I had asked which was nice. Overall the vibes were good and they do trivia on Thursdays.

My husband and I have been coming to this restaurant for many years. After we had our daughter we couldn’t think of any other place to continue to frequent. We recently celebrated our daughter’s third birthday here. Everyone was so welcoming and were more than happy to celebrate with us. The food is amazing and the service can’t be beat. We absolutely love their brunch. Bottomless guava mimosas are my personal fave. Highly recommend the Mac and cheese and wings. Their burgers and tacos are amazing! If you have a family or are looking to try some delicious food or drinks. You need to try this place. You won’t regret it.

I love the staff they are amazing and make the best drinks. Super fun to be at and have a fun time! Food and drinks me are great! They have special events like trivia night on Thursdays. The best neighborhood bar in town! Love this place!

If there was ever a pub that reminded me of cheers, Tortoise and Hare is it! Everyone knows your name there and they’re always glad you came. Anthony, Richie and the entire staff always deliver 5 star service with a smile. When live entertainment is offered, it’s always among the best DJ’s and performers. I love all of their drinks, however, my personal favorite is the chocolate mint martini. Don’t forget to grab a bite to eat as well: the wings and the nachos are amazing and when on special, the absolutely amazing shepherd’s pie potato skins bring me back home to Ireland with such a feast of flavor. I highly recommend T&H, amazing food, service and people.

T&H by far one of my favorite bars to visit when I am in New York. I love the atmosphere, the food, the drinks are amazing. My son doesn't like to go to restaurants but he truly loves this place, so many games to play with. The owner and the waitresses at this place are amazing, super friendly and attentive. Please try the shrimp tacos and the French onion dumplings. I can't come to New York and not visit this bar.

Although we don’t live in the area anymore, T&H was a great place to go and I’ve been meaning to write this review for a while. We were very excited to have a local Bar open up and I remember the limited menu when they first opened. They since expanded the kitchen and menu with All the food being great. Anthony was always friendly and a great atmosphere for a drink or a meal. Definitely miss this bar!

Went here after a nice long hike in Van Cortlandt Park and enjoyed a delicious lunch with exceptional service! Good portions and very tasty. They had happy hour too with free refills! Lit!

A favorite spot for many including the locals. This is a great place to come and meet new people & sports enthusiast alike. Join them for trivia night or rent it out for a party. Very accommodating and friendly.

I cannot express how much I love going to the Tortoise and the Hare. Every time I walk in, I am greeted like family. Anthony, the owner, takes the time to get to know each customer. Whether we come in early or right before closing- his disposition never wavers. The espresso martinis are truly the best I have ever had. The cocktail menu is extensive and made to perfection. I feel fortunate to have such an elite bar in my neighborhood. I recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing spot to drink and eat!

Anthony delivered exceptional service! Beyond expectations! Food was amazing! Well priced! Me and my boyfriend like to pick random spots to try (were big on customer service as we like to tip very well, and it’s based upon it) and this one is a hidden gem! So much so we have decided to make this our spot for the rest of our lives. It has that effect. It’s low key and gives you a warm family vibe. A place where u feel no judgment. Like visiting ur family somewhere. I’m a local to Yonkers but he made us feel like we were a local there. Like we belonged. Even the waitress’s walking around always checked on us to make sure we were good and always had a smile. Thanks guys will be seeing you soon!

Came here with my friend for their brunch menu. We both ordered the Bronx Breakfast Burger! Well seasoned, good portion, perfectly cooked and came with a side of coleslaw and a hash brown. I had two very refreshing guava mimosas! Menu was reasonably priced. Will definitely be coming back!

The waitress was the best!! The place needs a clean. There were other reviewers who labeled it a "gastro pub" not at all. This is a bar with bar food. Guinnes on draft though!! I personally thought the nachos were gross (my son liked them), but the guacamole was good.

This place was such a vibe. Great food. Good music. Amazing service. Oh and the bartender Anthony is a sweetheart. I recommend this whole place :)

The shrimp tacos were so delicious. This is a great cozy bar. Went Saturday night when Chris Parkin performed and his performance made the place even more memorable. Truly enjoyed the ambience of the place and would definitely go back to order more shrimp tacos.

Awesome place! Loved the food, the music was not loud and allowed me to actually have a conversation with my friend (which can be difficult to find sometimes) and the service was fantastic. Special shoutout to Samantha! Very sweet and attentive. Totally recommend.

Tortoise & Hare has become our staple place for happy hours drinks, good food, and a good time. Anthony, Samantha, Donna, and Keely have always made our experience wonderful and we have always felt at home and as part of the family. Highly recommend you give T&H a chance, and make it your neighborhood bar/restaurant to unwind and for good times! Our favs are definitely the tacos, burgers, onion rings, buffalo chicken nachos, and dry rub salt/vinegar wings! T&D won't disappoint!

Awesome spot. Service is great with friendly staff, drinks are lovely, and the food is delicious. French onion dumplings were incredible, a must try. Food was so good we came back again the same week to try more and we will be back again. Tacos and wings were really tasty and we loved the meatballs too. Pleasant atmosphere and jukebox is very cool to have. Trivia night was great fun especially, deffo recommend.

The food here is really good, so is the vibe. The Bodega sandwich is just so delicious it's ridiculous. Their burgers are REALLY good and so is the mac and cheese, try it with Buffalo chicken, Jesus it's good They also sell carrot cake from Lloyd's which is AMAZING!! I really like this place, great neighborhood pub with banging food.

One of the best NYC Bars that serve delicious food. Wings are amazing! Owner and waitresses are so welcoming! Good vibes all around, they play some good music too. A nice mix of everything, but you’ll def get some good R&B also.

This place is everything! The music is good, the food/service is bomb & the drinks are delicious. They let us pick our own song requests & checked up on us the entire time we were there. Neeeeed to come back when there’s live music!
