Creedmor has it's up and downsides, but it's necessary. We need more mental health facilities in this country, not less. To all you people complaining about this place being in your neighborhood, that place has been a psych hospital since the early 1900's. The mentally ill need to be cared for, and that's where we do it in NYC. They didn't move next to you, you moved next to them. You don't like it? Go somewhere Fing else! Or better yet, leave my city entirely! There's too many classless POS' here as is!

I know it's the first day and people are excited to vote but the Covid-19 Safety Guidelines should still apply. Not everyone is wearing mask properly and No Social Distancing is being enforced! It's even more crowded inside the voting area. So if you are like me and don't want people in your space and want to feel safe while voting, go during the week. Less People means Safer Environment.

I visited a friend here yesterday and it went well. There is lots of parking. The security staff is thorough and kind. You have to lock up your belongings, right next to the security station, it's not a big deal. You get a name tag with your picture on it, go up on an elevator to the ward. There you ring a bell and a staff member opens the door and takes you to the lounge to wait for your friend or family member. There were others in the lounge visiting and sharing a meal. The staff person who had me sign in as a visitor was lovely. Probably like many New Yorker's who pass this building often, I was nervous about visiting. But it was really fine, quite clean and well tended, staff helpful and nice, and you can imagine my friend was very happy for the company.

For God's sake, Atleast pick up the call. You are supposed to help people, not just sit there. Everytime, going over to the voicemail and no replies. Thank you for nothing.

okay so i myself have never been here but i was reading reviews and there are some questions and arguments that need to be answered and resolved. 1) the main building is not abandoned but i do believe there is a part of the establishment that they did have to shut down in the 80s. i can’t remember why but it was for sure closed. basically, people can still undergo psychiatric treatment at the creedmoor facility. 2) if you have an issue with the facility, thats a you problem. i assure you that you have not been living in the area since before 1912, when creedmoor first became accessible to the public. you have 2 options. you can suck it up or you can move. i highly doubt that they’ll pack up and move the whole facility with all of the patients just because you have an issue.

It's a place for people who are going through some rough times in their lives and need a little help to make it through those rough times . I'm not a patient here but sometimes, I think that some of the people with whom I come into contact with on Youtube should be . Believe it or not, I saw the name of this place on a sign, in an MC Shan music video . The name of the song is "Left Me Lonely" and the sign is near the end of the video .

Ruining our community. They let their patients out and they terrorize the kids at ps18 Park and I'm talking about toddlers! Today one of the patients was at burlington dept. Store opening car doors and taunting people. Disgusting No one does anything! You can call police no one does anything.

From ages 12-15, I worked here. Mrs. Davis, a very sweet lady, was our supervisor. First, I worked the radio for campus security. Second, with the carpenter shop. And finally, in the Hematology lab (where I first saw an autopsy - while eating lunch!). Now, it is still, partially in use. I could barely recognize it! The plants and rust have overtaken the beautiful buildings I recall. Some new (public??) housing surrounds the campus now.

I did not even visit this facility and can safely say that I would not do so were I paid. I called to request information about the inpatient facility. The operator connected me and the woman who answered was honestly one of the rudest women I have ever spoken with who works in psychiatry. I was already emotional, but she answered the phone with "what, who is this?" with a ton of noise in the background. I explained my situation and began to tear up because of how over whelming the noise and her attitude were, and she said "you can find information on the internet. I'm going to drop the phone now" and hung up on me. If that is the way they only handle a five second phone call, I can't imagine being a patient here. Disgusting conduct.
