👍👍 As Koreans we were a bit scared to try the kimchi bagels because we were like ‘these bois don’t know how to make kimchi.’ Well, these bois know how to make kimchi and they make it well. You have our seal of approval. The caprese bagel is also really good, so go in there and order two with your frien... People often mention bagel, vegan, coffee, bagels, love, cream, time, spot, kimchi, great,

Delicious spot to get vegan bagel sandwiches. I tried the one with kimchi which was very tasty. I also got a latte with rose. I love that this cafe uses oatmilk as their default for milk. Recently I tried the fig and prosciutto bagel which was such a great combo. A little smokey and sweet.

The fig bagel was delicious. Forreal. it’s a small spot, not exactly a study spot but cool to drink your coffee and read a book. Workers are really cool too, shout-out to Kevin he is the man.

The kimchi bagel was innovative and delicious. Maybe a little too much tofu cream cheese but you definitely get your money's worth.

The owner should - #1 be held to account and #2 really consider putting 2 people on per shift. I get that it can be slow but leveraging all of your profit on the idea that one person can manage an entire shop that does both food and coffee is unreal and abusive to the employees here. Im a barista and when I realized what was going on I felt so bad for the employees. The owners are nice but really they should understand that people show up for fast and consistent service. One person cannot handle the excessive lines that form here (i didn't even get my coffee this morning because the line was too long..)

Just went to Familiars Vegan Coffee shop for the first time. As a Vegan from out of town, it’s hard enough to really get over to a place and try and I couldn’t have had more attitude from the heavy set women working the counter. I was polite, was quick to order and she was just snappy and rude for no reason. Kind of the opposite of why I came here. Anyways, I asked for a bagel and was told “because the ovens are hot, it will make us hot and we can’t make a bagel for you” I took a 30 min trip in the city for breakfast and you can’t turn your ovens on. Will never return here, I could tell the girl giving attitude does this regularly

Familiar's in Brooklyn is 100% Vegan and they had about 5 or 6 bagel sandwiches to choose from! We tried the prosciutto and fig with cream cheese and the Caprese bagel sandwich. The Caprese was my fave! Their iced vanilla latte was probably the best Latte I have ever had! It's located in a cute are in Brooklyn and right across the street is another vegan restaurant, that I think is owned by the same owner, I could be misinformed. The cafe had a cute and comfy energy. Next time I'm back in NY, I will def stop by!

Awesome coffee shop with vegan fare for coffee drinks, donuts and bagels. Getting coffee and a donut here along with a breakfast burrito and side from Toad Style across the street makes for a heavy and well deserved hangover recovery.

Favorite local vegan coffee spot and yes, you heard me correctly. Everything's vegan! I love to order the chai tea latte with the caprese bagel ! The service is always amazing and everyone's so friendly. They even have vegan dog treats for your furry babies. I also love the way they decorated their interior. You can sit inside or outside whichever you prefer. And just do some work, draw or just chill with your friends. Definitely try out Familiars! Highly recommend even if you're not vegan!

The coffee has a strong flavor of nut I guess, so it tastes fresh and abundant! The bagel was amazing! I tried tofu cream and strawberry flavor. Both are great! Highly recommend.

Great food and nice prices! The bagel with cream cheese was only $3 and it tasted delicious! There are many options here for vegan flavors that make me want to come back and try them all. The space is very compact, so there is not much seating. However, they do provide indoor/outdoor seating. The wait time is moderate. When I went, there was only one barista taking orders and preparing the drinks/food.

Solid vegan cafe with great bagels and drinks! My favorite is the fancy fig, which tastes like it’s made with real prosciutto while still being vegan 😯 I like that oat milk is the standard, so I don’t have to ask for it. Staff is friendly, and the art in the shop is cool.

UPDATE - after talking to a few neighbors around the block, seems to be some racist pattern; when black people order, their bagel is always messed up. Without a doubt. Food contamination is crazy evil.... Really hope this isn’t the case... OG: Doesn’t matter how nice the barista is if they can’t toast a bagel correctly... girl this is New York!! I love the flavors and ideas and another vegan option in the neighborhood but for the love of God idk why in 4 years they still can’t toast a bagel?!? Without fail is burnt every time, or stale as damn rock!! I’m not exaggerating, how is your main sandwich a bagel (only have everything bagels). The bagel quality issue is literally a joke amongst my fellow plant based neighbors, “I really want some fig and prosciutto from Familiars, but don’t feel like breaking my teeth”. Please get a bread box, a new toaster, a new person with home training who can toast bread, literally anything!! Thank you!

I recently had the opportunity to try out a new vegan breakfast spot, and I was blown away! I ordered a vegan bagel with cream cheese and a doughnut, and both were absolutely delicious. The bagel was soft and chewy, and the cream cheese was perfectly creamy and tangy. The doughnut was light and fluffy, and the glaze was sweet and decadent.

One of best croissants I think I've ever tasted. Reg chai latte was so sweet I had to throw it out. Better coffee houses in area but this is good for vegans and Toad Style- a vegan restaurant is across the street

Friendly and welcoming barista, great bagel options and cozy, all-around cool vibe. Took off two stars because when I ordered an espresso, it was served in a paper cup... when I reminded that I would be consuming it in-house, was told that paper is all they have. This definitely should have been communicated upon ordering. I would have passed on the drink, enjoyed the bagel and given 5 stars.

we ordered the fancy fig and it’s was really yummy but it was cold so if that a important to you maybe you can ask them to toast the bagel. we also got an iced latte and a garden palmer, the espresso was burnt and the drink was really strange, it didn’t taste like lemonade at all and felt like soda but that might be my fault cause i wasn’t expecting that. the drinks were just really disappointing

We've been ordering from here pretty regularly for over a year now and they get our order wrong more often than not. They forget to add milk to coffee about half the time, they rarely ever remember to hold ice (so we won't have watery ice coffee on hot days), bagels often have incorrect ingredients, bagels are almost never toasted when requested, and sometimes entire items are omitted. Sometimes they fix the orders but it's a huge hassle. I hate giving a vegan place a bad review, but we don't have a lot of options where we live and this is getting ridiculous. Get it together Familiars! Coffee and food is great, but I would not recommend this place to someone who has other options and I particularly would not feel safe if I had any allergies.

The figgy bagel and caprese bagel are both incredible.

It’s pretty typical for this place to forget to toast their bagels, but today they forgot to bake them. Incredibly, our bagels came in the form of just barely baked dough. A new raw food trend??

I ordered a small coffee and croissant here. Came out to around $9. Server/barista was very nice. Relatively quiet when I was here and it was calm.

Fair customer service, decent drinks. All prices around the area are a tad expensive. Traffic can make getting to the shop a bit slow.

I love the spot. It’s one of my favorites in the neighborhood. Everyone who works there is chill, music is always good, it’s rarely crowded. They didn’t used to provide Wi-Fi, which worked fine for the space since it’s small, but they have public internet now for those who prefer to dine- in and work at the same time. I love the kimchi bagel and I think the fancy fig is a crowd favorite. Always happy to walk through those doors🩷
