MACONDO is special. The empanadas are made to order. The meats are tender and saturated with flavor. MACONDO challenges pizza for the title of "best the day after and left out on the counter" I ate here 3 times in a span of 24 hours the day I found them. I also invited a group of people and they also all loved it. EAT HERE. And treat the lovely ladies with respect and love because their love and respect for you is there; stuffed in a crispy empanada shell and made just for you.

As a Colombian, I can confidently say, after taking a bite out of the Colombianisima and the guava plantains, I was back home in my grandmothers, my mothers, and my tias kitchen ALL at once 🥹 I will forever come here now. The best Colombian comforts foods I have ever had in the bay. Add plantain and cheese to your Colombianisima. Get the guanábana juice, AND to finish it off… I died and came back more colombiana after the Arepa De Choclo I had… with cheese and condensed milk, yeah, I said it condensed milk. It ain’t a real thing without the condensed milk. Ikyky. Staff was awesome! Wish the had tables! Please don’t come here, I want this to be my home away from home food spot! 😊😁 Please enjoy this amazing arepa video!

I love that there’s an empanadas place in Alameda now. Unfortunately I didn’t get to try them this time. I got the Alegria Combo which is two arepas, salad, and a drink. Got the banh mi and pulled pork bbq arepas. Both were super delicious. I definitely have to come back to try the empanadas.

Delicious food and we are looking forward to returning many times in the future. We tried the Maite, Banh Mi and Choclo arepas, beef empanada and the plantain side. Only a bench inside and outside so you'll need to take your food to eat elsewhere. Luckily there are a few parks nearby, and the parking lot with tables on Taylor and Webster.

My wife picked up the food and it was such a pleasant surprise. I really like arepas to begin with so I'm biased. But they were amazing. Got pulled pork, chicken, cheese and quesabirria. The birria won without a fight. Giving it five stars for that alone. The others were still very good! I would snack on the cheese ones all day if I could afford it. Will go back!

This place will leave you speechless asking for more! Fresh Chicken, Fresh Beef, spices on everything was superb. Started off with the Arepa’s: Colombianisimo: pulled brisket w/ hogao cooked to perfection in between a masa formed pocket with cheese and house sauce.(this was the favorite) Birria Arepa: slow cooked beef w/ pickled carrots. The beef was some of the best Birria meat I have ever tasted! Empanadas: Chicken/Beef were both good but I would choose the chicken because of the sauce that it was paired with.(game changers) Dessert: Arepa de cholco con queso, I wish I had someone making these on call. Like nothing I’ve had before and will be returning for more Authentic Colombian food here in the Bay Area is very hard to find but look no further this gem is a must try. The only thing this place needs but doesn’t is a small bar style seating or a couple tables(4 max)

Trust me on this: Order the chicken arepas, the spinach/ beet salad and the red beans. It's a very healthy and tasty meal that should leave you energized. This place is also a great grub source for the bar across the street. Apparently the local dispensary customers haven't discovered it yet. If they had, there would be a line around thre block.

I was walking by and saw this little place and because I love arepas I decided to try AND IT WAS THE BEST DECISION We had the Birria and bah mi arepas and they were absolutely delicious. I am sad we did not ordered more lol the lady who took our order was also very sweet. We also had the chicken empanadas(baked) and the dough Mets in your mouth. Very happy we found this place right around the corner and can’t wait to have more.

Amazing! 10/10 recommend. It was so good that after we ate we both got empanadas to go for later. They are Veggie friendly! Can’t wait to come back.
