The environment was cosy but the food was disappointing. There was no effort put into it and it was a bit pricey. The food looked like it was made by a University food student.

Ooooh girl that Kaiserschmarrn, though! This old-school German restaurant is situated right off the Spree, next to a large park with a great view of the Fernsehturm. Although it's in a bit of a touristy area only a few minutes from Alexanderplatz, we were greeted warmly and the service was very friendly throughout. Also, we heard of lot of German being spoken around us, which with the decor and general vibe, made us feel like we were transported to a small German mountain town. Great atmosphere! To eat, I, of course, got the standard (Hamburger-style) schnitzel and my date got the grilled chicken strips in mushroom sauce. Both were fantastic! The schnitzel was crisp and juicy and the mushroom sauce was 👌. But the star of the show was the Kaiserschmarrn. Honestly one of the best renditions I've ever had, and maybe it's the simplicity that struck a chord. Essentially French toast and vanilla ice cream -- no frills, but each component was perfection. Also I got a homemade iced tea which I highly recommend. We left very satisfied and enjoyed the rest of our walk around Mitte with full bellies.

Superb restaurant near Alexanderplatz. Good atmosphere and delicious food. Great place of you'd like to try traditional German food. I highly recommend to make a reservation beforehand as we would've been turned away otherwise since they were fully booked. Good service and efficient staff. Not too pricey so win-win .

Great pork knuckles both boiled and braised. However the portion is very big!!! Good for 2-3 people per portion. Very good sauerkraut. Service is mediocre.

Good hearty food... Nice ambience with a local feel... The staff were friendly and the place seems to be kept well clean... Our food consisted of the Sausage & Fries dish, as well as the Beef roll with Boiled potatoes & braised cabbage with apples. We also had a small beer & a full bottle of sparkling water - all for about 46 euros. Nothing fussy, but I would go back to try a few other dishes.

Nice place between a landmark and a beautiful park, adding a lot to the cosy atmosphere inside. There are outdoor seats as well but unfortunately it was raining and I visited. I was expecting higher prices as it's so close to main touristic places, but it turns out both beer and food were reasonably priced.

Food is outstanding. Value for money is very fair. Service is very friendly and attentive but sometimes when it's busy it can feel a little understaffed. Overall great, though. Atmosphere is like sitting in your grandmother's living room depending where you are. But different sections with a little different theme. Overall cozy. Food quality and taste feels like it's made with love and pride with hand me down recipes from generations before. Good old German comfort food

Just a normal place to have some lunch in the center of Berlin. The food was okay, people are nice. The waiter found a table for me without any reservation.

It's a great restaurant with very friendly service staff. Location is also great and the price is for Berlin super friendly. Their menu card is in various languages and that was very helpful. No variety for vegetarian, but again, it's a restaurant with a tradition behind it. Will recommend anytime to anyone who wants to try real German food.

The food was great, but the service could use improvement. The waiter barley checks on the table to see if the customer wants to order more drinks, food, etc.. Make sure you check your Receipt, the waiter was charging us for extra drinks that we did not order! Once, it was brought to his attention from a fellow coworker that he was wrong he refused to applause for his rude outburst.

Traditional German fare. You must make a reservation if you want to visit in the evening since the place gets quite busy. The location is perfect - close to Nikolaiviertel. We had the Pork Knuckle, meatballs, Kartoffelsuppe, Hühnerfrikassee and apfelstrudel. And of course, quite a few pints of beer. Everything was reasonably priced. Everything was delicious and the service was quick and efficient. However, there was some issue with our reservation. We had reserved online. But, it seemed they prefer a local register where they note down reservations and hence did not know that we had already reserved. They did honour our reservation though and laid out a table. Overall, I would totally recommend the place if you want to try some German food.

This restaurant feels like and is a traditional Alt Gasthaus. The food is delicious, well prepared, and extremely tasty! The Staff are attentive to your requirements, explaining the difference in the various options available on the menu. I cannot praise the staff enough, the kitchen closed at 21.30; they informed us of this not wanting us to be disappointed. Then as the night drew on, they asked us just before the bar closed if we needed another beer. There were very few patrons max 6 people, but they said its ok not a problem. So we sat and enjoyed our last beer. Nothing was a problem for the staff. EXCELLENT PLACE TO TASTE GOOD GERMAN HEARTY FOOD.

We visited Berlin in December and after having our first dinner here, we didn't even want to try another restaurant during our 4 days stay. The food is amazing and a very good value for the price. We tried out the goose and duck legs, wild boar and venison, Apfelstrudel with vanilla sauce and Kaiserschmarrn. Everything was incredibly tasty, the staff and atmosphere were nice and warm.

They offer a wide variety of classical German style dishes. We were so pleased with what we ate on our first visit that we went there a second time. If we could stay longer, we would've gone again and again. The food was so delicious that we couldn't just order a single dish for each of us and leave; we were driven to have full-course meals. The portions are big, and the presentation is quite artistic. The desserts are tempting. The place is modest, cozy, well-decorated, and clean. The customer profile is high. Prices are very reasonable. The service personnel and the restaurant owner are all very nice and friendly. We had quality food and spent quality time there.

My small plate was huge and I loved it. I got to try Currywurst because they have vegan version of it. My pint was also great. The lady serving us was also lovely. Also super recommend the strudel if you’ve got dessert space. The vanilla stuff that comes with it is delicious.

Food was nice. Little disappointed with the crispy pork. The skin was so hard but overall the food was really good. Also the staff was sadly forcing us to give them tip because they said twice tip isn't included tip insnt included in the bill! It was Kinda disappointing.

Nice cozy, traditional type German place. We had an entree to share, two mains, two desserts, and water to drink, came to about €50. Highly recommend the pork knuckle, can though it was MASSIVE. Cheese spätzle was also delicious. Pork chop was a bit dry for my boyfriend's taste, but was very in line with the normal German style. Apple rings dessert was also delicious! Looked very festive for the season :)

I stayed in Berlin for 5 nights and visited this place 3 times. Each time it was a great experience. The staff are lovely, the service is quick and with a smile and the food is super tasty. If you are looking for delicious German cuisine you should visit. There is plenty of choice.

We have ordered our food with a given time, when it should be delivered. They came just in time not a minute after! I am so impressed. And the food was really hot and so delicious! One of the best German food Restaurants in Berlin! Thank you!

Great food with good price. Two stars lost as the waiter rudely took my menu, even I told him I want to keep one for the discussion of drinks. He said he need it and left. It is so bad.

The place is well located, but the service can be better. It made us feel that the waiter ignored us and didn’t try to put any effort or attention to his clients. You can definitely find better places where waiters care more to keep customers happy.

Lovely traditional meal that far exceeds its more touristy neighbours up the road. The quality and portions were very good and will definitely be visiting again.

If you want to taste the typical german food, this is for you. Good place, in a centric place but also good prices compared with other typical german restaurants. Also, the taste of the food and of course, the Currywrust was a 10/10. For sure i will repeat!

The friendliest staff I’ve seen in a while, great food for amateurs and a nice atmosphere that makes you feel at someone’s place. Definitely a good place to discover German cuisine.

Love the schnitzel with the fried egg with its oozy yolk. Fried potatoes were also good, great comfort food. Pork knuckle is crispy on the outside and tender inside. Service was excellent, waiter was attentive and friendly. We ended staying till closing.

👍 The queue can get really long in a very short amount of time. We were lucky and waited for about 5 minutes before placing our order. The place was fully packed both inside and outside after we picked up our food. We got the original döner but I was unsure about the sauce they used. The sandwich was...
