I really enjoyed the stay and got lots of interesting information. Sad thing was that many information screens were out of service and some parts of the museum were closed. Windmills are broke, outside grounds are overgrown and not taken care of. Most of the new building is replica model ships. You can see mainly some trains, a few planes and boats. What you can see, is great and definitely worth seeing...but wait until they open all the floors. Shutting off floor upon floor is too much. The museum has a lot of potential.

I enjoyed this museum a lot. It is divided into 2 sections: the old and the new building. Sadly, a large chunk of the old building is being renovated so i only got to see the textile exhibition. The new building however, was great. It has 4 floors and mainly focuses on sailing and aviation. But there is one more thing i must mention. On the 4th floor, there is a balcony you can go to, which has an amazing view of the city. Make sure you find it and enjoy the view.

There were more sections but they were closed. There are numerous WC around the museum she a cafe by the exit. To see everything i would say allow around 4 hours. A massive museum filled with technology ranging from the 1800s till the 2000s. It is split into 3 major sections for trains, planes and ships. Spent a good 2 hours looking at everything and its well worth the €4 I payed for a student ticket.

There were Very few people there when i visited. Big place, lot of room, not crowded with lot of stuff, easy to take in. I found the ship maketts a bit too much and boring. The museum closes at 5:30, and i didnt have time to visit the science/auto/network section :( When i visited, there were no demonstrations, it would have been cool to see the big engines steaming.

Really worth a visit, the place is huge and you could easily spend 2-3 hours+ here. Perfect for people who nerd out on historic planes, trains, and boats. Most things on display have English descriptions too. Definitely worth your time and the price of the ticket!

What a cool museum to visit if you’re in Berlin. You will learn so much about the different types of transportation from airplanes to boats to trains. We were sad that the brewery was closed as well as some other features (due to covid) but the museum as a whole was such an incredible experience. I think the trains were my favourite to see and the top floor of the new building was the most informational for me. Mostly written in German with areas that has English descriptions as well. Maps of the museum was available in multiple languages (Russian, French, Spanish, English, German …). Worth a visit if you like to travel or like to learn about history and how things were made

Interesting museum for adults and kids. Shows a bit of history and technologies related to ships, airplanes and body energy. Not very interactive, but nice to see. Spending 2h here is enough to see most of it.

Nice museum. Unfortunately many places are closed cause they do works and the time was not enough. It closed early. Also too many of locomotives in the first room. The shop of the souvenirs was very expensive too. Overall it was nice.

The museum has entry free on first Sunday of November. We visited after lunch and could manage to see only a small portion of it. The exhibits are very nicely displayed and have English description also. The shipping section has miniatures also displayed. This is strongly recommended.

The museum actually has a stunning collection of old steam locomotives, airplanes (first time I saw a real Me-162!) and beautiful ship models. Unfortunately, most of the hands-on experiences were closed off (covid?) and the lighting in the naval section was terrible (first time I stumbled a few times in the dark). Bottom line: impressive collection, but please have the defective light bulbs fixed!

It was ok. Expected a bit more. Especially on the aviation side. Stull worth a visit. Just not a lot of things to my personal interest. Some items were covered in plastic so couldn’t see it. They really have to put signs or markers to say that the floor has these blocks that stand out because both my husband and I fell over them.

It was a really insteresting exhibition and a nice experience. The museum itself could demonstrate devolpment of the technology in different things. Plus it has benches and sits in between the halls so we could relax a bit during our almost 3 hours visit.

We were there last Saturday. It was a very pleasant visit. The museum has very friendly staff. Exhibitions rooms are very nicely organised, full with very original technical and historical items. It is an educative and entertaining experience to visit it. You never get bored. We were there for 4 hours and we will visit it again.

The museum itself is very beautiful, a great place to visit with kids and a lot to see in one place at a fair price. Very interesting place! Lots of old airplanes, trains and historical ships. Unfortunately a couple exhibits were closed because of corona, but I was still very pleased. Lots of descriptions in both German and English. The museum looks small from the outside but it has a lot of buildings.

Amazing journey through history and how technology developed and still developing.. highly recommend. But make sure to wear comfy sneakers, it’s a very big museum ;)

Fun museum. First we went to one of their small buildings only to later find out that there was an even bigger main building as well. We were there for 1.5-2 hours but only managed to go through maybe 40-50% of the museum. Had we known of the size we would have considered allocating more time. We especially liked the train section with the massive ancient steam locomotives 🚂. We're probably going back there if we have some time over the next time we're in Berlin.

It covers a huge area with real and miniature models of trains, ships, planes etc. You need 3 hours to comfortably explore everything properly. There is plenty of space to sit and relax so make sure to bring some food with you.

I expected the museum to be slightly boring for me, but I loved it and so did my partner and son! I'm a biologist so usually I am into nature, so the sugar floor was exciting for me. It was such a cool spin to the topic of technology. Otherwise the trains exhibit was really cool because you saw their evolution over time. All of the exhibits were extremely well made, even the older ones, to educate and entertain. The new wing has a lot of cool interactive learning panels on multiple languages which is awesome. The sailing center was also super nice for kids to learn in. My 2 year old son had the best time running and learning all day in the museum. Three hours wasn't enough though to get to the science center too so we'll be back!

It's a perfect museum for technology lovers. I really enjoyed my time here. And there are many things to see here, I recommend to at least be ready to spend 4-5 hours here otherwise you'll miss out on so many worthy things. As it has a wide range of technologies from textiles, transmission, TV broadcasting, history of computers, aviation and ships and so on. They have the first prototype of many well known technologies.

Great place that highlights the technological advancements in rail, air and sea travel extremely well. I thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of sea travel and how it has advanced over time...but I went for the planes and I loved every minute of it! They also have a fairly priced gift shop!

Awesome experience. The place is enormous and there are cool things to see. From ancient locomotives to cold war planes, weird machines, and craftsmanship happening live while you walk the halls. Tickets are jusr 9€, well worth the money.

The history of air and sea navigation is displayed in all its stages and glory. From simple designs of wing like birds to jet engines we see all the incremental stages here. Same is for ships.

Very good museum with big areas and various topics covered. There is a plenty of things to see and learn - railway, planes, ships, sugar… Balcony on 4th floor have amazing view of Berlin panorama and plane which hang. The railway model of whole Anhalter Bahnhof area looks really cool. In general very nice place to go with kids as well.

Great museum costing only €8 for adults. Four floors of interesting exhibits and displays, most of the description boards are only in German so be prepared to use Google translate if you need them in English. Allow four or five hours to get around, perfect for a rainy day.

The German Museum of Technology is literally a stunning experience, both for children as well as for adults! A unique reflection of the entire industrial history! This museum is quite huge and varied that you will probably need not one Museum Sunday but three or four museum Sundays. On our first visit we just saw the artefacts in the building which had ships, trains and flights. But the highlight for me was the sugar section which described the science and the history of sugar and the politics behind it in quite some detail - do check this section in the museum. Also we took the guide Kd tour at 3 pm in English. That was great too - we got an overall summary of the museum plus also got to visit the staircase for horses🐴. The restaurant inside the museum was great too. If you are new to Berlin this can be on the top 3 list of places to visit for anyone. Next time we visit it we are planning to go to the kids section

The best museum I’ve ever been to. There is even a 2nd museum next door. I came to this place a total of 4 times in 1.5 months. I don’t think I’ll ever do that at any other museum. READING the plaques makes the objects so much more interesting. It expertly depicts the marvel of technological progress.
