Truly one of the great contemporary art museums of the world. This was my second visit and I was very moved by the current exhibitions. If you’re an art aficionado, you must visit! I wanted to note that the staff at the desk are quite rude when they really don’t have to be. It really didn’t bother me overall but I thought it was worth noting in my review.

The location is stunning and already worth a visit. The staff was relatively kind as well. However, the displayed art is extremely abstract and can be hard to grasp without a proper contextual explanation. Of course signs are available, but certain art pieces were still hard to understand and observe. Would recommend regardless!

I had such a special day at this beautiful museum today, which used to be a railway station. I was deeply moved by the visiting exhibitions, especially that of Nadia Kaabi-Linke "Seeing Without Light", which ends on 24.3.24 and is a must see, and the Christina Quarles exhibit "Collapsed Time", which actually ended today, so was really happy that I got to see it. The structure of the museum itself is interesting and chic, especially how it was transformed from a railway station - excellent architecture.I like how there were beach chairs dispersed out in the beautiful entrance garden for the museum visitors to chill. Bought tickets on the spot - no problem.

nice museum of contemporary art! big and bright with a lot of different styles of art pieces. the only qualification is the price : 18€ for an adult entry ticket is way too expensive

One of the most impressive Museums for contemporary art in Berlin. Most of the time with huge installations and paintings.

Modern art is sometimes so abstract that even with explanations/pamphlets you still cannot get it. But I enjoyed my visit because art works here make you wonder. My favourite artist here is Bartolina Xixa.

TOTAL SCAM MUSEUM. We were shocked inside this museum. Nice building from outside but there was absolutely nothing to see, inside was empty. We paid to look at some vinyl records. All the museum was just about that, there was no modern art at all. Probably they are doing some renovations in the museum but still I paid 14 euro to see absolutely nothing.

The Hamburger Bahnhof - Nationalgalerie der Moderne is not only a beautiful Building its a big museum. Its divided into 5 sections with exhibitions and themes for each of them. All areas are accessible either via stairs or elevator. There is a gift store inside the museum as well as a restaurant. I bought the ticket on the day and had no issues.

An old train station turned into a lovely contemporary art museum. The building, by itself, is worth the visit however, if you are into contemporary art - it's a must see. I revisit this place 2-3 times a year, Everytime I come back to Berlin. As every contemporary art museum you will find some more successful exhibits along with less to your taste, luckily the museum is big enough to hold plenty of both. It's always interesting. Quiet place. Central. English friendly. The cafe/restaurant is very enjoyable. Like all museum shops in Berlin an upgrade is recommended.

Hamburger Bahnhof is a large museum in Berlin. The museum is the former terminus of the Hamburg-Berlin Railway but now serves as a contemporary art museum. The museum has large galleries with permanent (work that use to be in the Berlin National Gallery) and changing exhibitions. The building also has an artshop, a café and a restaurant. All the exhibitions were very interesting and presented in a very slick and beautiful manner. I did miss a bit more insightful explanations sometimes. In total we spend around 2 hours in the museum.

I would rather call this place quite boring at least in those days in which I were. 14 euro for entry is to much in my opinion. Building is nice. Guards are very irritating, starring at you all the time, taking how you should walk and where and I wasn't doing any particular.

Very mediocre museum, way too overpriced at 14 euros a person, with three sparse exhibits and almost hostile crew. Do not visit during the corona times as you'll be constantly stared at by the staff making sure you don't so much as step into a small room that another person is in. The biggest exhibit was related to a german artist and only had an audio guide in german, very disappointing for a relatively steep admission price.

Nope. I am no art aficionado but this was some serious insult to contemporary art. I would love to give them zero stars but one star is only because they at least have the Ukranian flags.

Perfect venue for art exhibitions. Huge space, many rooms and all r different. Just a bit too hot inside some of them. We went for Biennale there and weren’t disappointed. Next visit was dedicated to “Broken music” exhibition about 70 years of records and sound experiments by artists gently gathered by Ursula Block, legendary person owned recording shop and label in Berlin for many years. I spent more than 3h listening stories and music, looking at record’s covers. Was really amazed by her work.

Interesting little modern art museum. Staff were a bit paranoid and condescending, but we still had a good time looking at all the art. Also, do peek behind the curtain behind the cashiers. It will be worth it.

I really enjoyed my time here. The website doesn’t say so, but they have a student discount which meant we only had to pay 6 euro’s (even as international students). There were some pretty great things in their collection. The security guards were also fun to watch, very weird very friendly, they were a 10/10.

(Translated by Google) Until a year ago I would have given the Hamburger Bahnhof 5 stars. I was last there at the beginning of March 2020. The entrance area was suddenly significantly compressed, so a view into the beautiful hall was denied. It was irritating at first, but it continued through the entire exhibition space. The staff, which used to be extremely friendly and courteous, seemed a bit arrogant and discreetly unfriendly, the special exhibitions were slightly politically trimmed. Large parts of the Flickcollection were not accessible. All in all, the entire Hamburger Bahnhof, which, as I read, had been redesigned, seemed somehow overwhelming, which led to absolute weariness and even headaches for us. We then had to relax in the fresh air and have a delicious meal. In view of the other circumstances that could be read in the Berlin press in recent months, such as the separation of the Flick Collection and disputes about the further use of the building ensemble, which was sold to investors a long time ago, a possible closure of the Hamburger Station do not bring any real loss. Actually very sad to have to write something like that. Unfortunately, however, a sad example of amateurish cultural and urban development policy, with which one destroys the life's work of the founders and patrons of the Hamburger Bahnhof and transfers a real highlight into insignificance for Berliners and tourists.

(Translated by Google) The Hamburger Bahnhof is a beautiful building and ideally suited as a place for art, creativity and freedom. The current exhibition by Katharina Große (until January 2021) fits here perfectly and is a good multi-faceted, urban stage. Most of the previous exhibitions have also inspired me. 2 ⭐⭐ There is a deduction for the staff. With a few exceptions, I can summarize it as unfriendly (no, that's not my Berlin), ignorant, overwhelmed, embarrassing, not well informed. If someone from the HR department is seriously interested in feedback and details, I am happy to exchange information ... (you can only get better if you know about it). Nevertheless, from the point of view of an art enthusiast, I can recommend a visit without reservation. Just don't expect too much service ... • 3/5 Jared Christopher K. 2 years ago on Google
The collection, especially the Beuys works were incredible to see in person. Surprisingly, though, the critical context of the works were missing in any wall text. Beuys's work is dependent on the performance in which it was made and the concept that informed that performance. However, in this collection his works are presented as objects that stand alone, which is presenting them with only half of what makes them interesting. Maybe I'm unaware of his wishes for how his work should be shown (with or without context) but it seems like a huge missed opportunity for visitors to understand why these works were actually so provocative and progressive in their (and still in our) time.

The exhibitions may not be for everyone but the building is gorgeous and worth an opportunity to experience something out of the ordinary. Depends heavily on the current exhibitions, the current ones for example really disappointed me. Also: a very unfriendly Woman working as a security guard screamed at us to wear our masks correctly (we both did the whole time), told me off as I was holding my jacket in my hand and screamed to keep 20m distance to her. Definitely ruined our experience, she shouldn’t work in a customer facing role if she is this aggressive.

Interesting central space, with more side exhibition spaces than initially expected. Unfortunately guards ruin the experience. They are anxiously surveying and abusive of their responsibility - makes you overtly uncomfortable. Im not a rebel without a cause, but please don’t tell me aggressively from which side to enter an open exhibition aisle... let guests discover the exhibition in their own order instead of oppressively scolding “ey ! Kein eingang !” like a high school teacher. That is one ridiculous example of many instances i experienced, security guards drunk on power or given the green light to act oppressively and make you bend to their orders. This is not my first museum by far, your guards cross the line and ruin it.

The building itself is nice to see but the exhibition not so great when I went there. Very cliché on contemporary arts, the kind that looks like it's a mess or something else I don't really know. I guess one should go there to see something specific because it's not adaptated just to discover or spend the afternoon.

For me the best modern art museum in Berlin. The film in the blue room is just wow

We visited museum as part of the Berlinale program. It has a huge space&light potential and diverse selection of artworks and artists. And although the entrance hall and exhibition there disappointed us, leaving with a feeling of confusion, the Berlinale halls and Under Construction exhibition was great! However, I also had to take one more star out because of the very rude staff. A friend of mine accidentally overstepped the line of one artwork and she was told that “only Russian speakers could do smth like that”😕. Another time we were chased and harassed by another museum worker for drinking water (very far from artworks I must say). In general they left an impression of prison guards with no better thing to do than to control every move and breath visitors take😔

Wonderfully-curated contemporary art exhibitions. When I went (June 2022), my ticket could be used for multiple art museums across different days, which makes it well-worth the price.

The exhibitions are quiet small, you get through it very quickly, some work are great but most of the rooms are big empty white box with small little artworks that get lost in that emptiness. The prices of the tickets are okay, the staff are very nice and friendly. The building and the setting itself is great.

Interesting place. Its a former train station remodeled into a museum. There are collections and special exhibitions. The modern art collection is focused on German artists and Berlin.

Great museum. Much larger after my last visit in 1988. Zeitlos was at that time a fantastic exhibition. Now the exhibitions Fred Sandback and Christina Quarles are great to see.

Excellent origins of sound exhibit! Totally worth the visit. The building itself was an old railway station that leaves you speechless

Divided into 5 sections with exhibitions and themes for each of them. Loads to see and the restaurant is charming. Must visit.

Like this gallery. They have very good exhibitions usually. But staff… 😒 They definitely not into the modern art. Experience is more like in the old museum, 20 years ago. Very German service.

My visit to the Hamburger Bahnhof museum was fascinating. The diverse exhibitions and artistic ambiance captured my interest. It's a very interesting museum that provides a unique perspective on contemporary art.

A gem of a modern art museum. If you need a shot of color and thoughtful exhibitions go! Don't miss all the exibits tucked away in this rambling building.

Great place but some of the exhibitions were boring. I wanna come back once they change.

One of my favorite museums in Berlin. The main hall is great. The Ufan, a Korean painter and Sculptor, exhibit was amazing with a deep story behind. I highly recommend. They were open on the Christmas day.

The Fan and light bulbs on the floor are now supposedly art pieces.... this museum puts modern art to shame.
