You can visit the aquarium with the same ticket that you entered the zoo. It is an amazing place that makes you feel you are at the bottom of the ocean. A lot of different and interesting animals. literally stunning.!

My niece and nephew can stay here for hours. There are a lot of fish and reptiles to see. It's best to get your combination ticket to the zoo online. What was annoying was that the elevator at the entrance didn't work. But the staff helped us with the stroller.

Right next to the zoo is the aquarium. It’s a building on 3 floors. The ground floor is where you see all the fish, sharks, coral and jellyfish. In one corner is an area very dark for the light sensitive fish, The next floor is where you get the amphibians and reptiles. There is a room where there are 3 crocodiles and a few turtles that you can look down on. The top floor is where the insects were. This is the Smallest floor and doesn’t take long to walk around. They have a lift to help people with pushchairs however when I was there it was busy and people were carrying them up the stairs. It’s a good place to visit and i think 90 minutes is probably the most time needed to see everything.

The part that we like the most is the petting space, yes! you can pet fish and somehow they like and and are very used to people touching them. The space inside the aquarium allows children to use a lot of energy running around and discovering insects and animals. Sometimes the aquarium smells a bit weird but maybe it’s part of the charm.

The aquarium was under construction so you can't enter it from the zoo. We bought tickets ahead of time. It was warm. Nice little selection of aquatic animals and snakes. Some sharks, fish, jelly fish, sea horses, sting rays, eels, and lizards. There is seating throughout.

Very beautiful aquarium, jellyfish and corals are very beautiful. And they have lungfish and electric eel, too.

A beautiful aquarium. You can spend a lot of time marveling at the different fish, jellyfish and reptiles. For me it was the first visit and it was definitely worth it. The small café was also very inviting. We had the ticket as a combination ticket with the zoo and had already done everything online - it was quick and easy.

That’s a nice aquarium but also simple one! Of course there were some giant fishes and different amphibians, insects, snakes 🐍, but it can have more different kinds of fishes, the environment is nice and also there is tropical part, I will post some of its photos here! All and all as a scientist both my husband and I enjoyed spending time there! 🥰

Amazing place. We bought the tickets from inside the zoo and payed only 20 euro for 2 adults and 1 kid. This 2 story aquarium and reptile exhibit is complete. They have the biggest exhibit of reptiles we have ever seen. It’s easy accessible, big and child friendly.

I was afraid that this place would be targeting more kids.. but frankly I enjoyed it a lot .. took me roughly 2 hours with 0% boredom .. great energy .. surrounded by nature (variant types of fish from all over the world, snakes, turtles, leaves)!

Clean and well aware of social distancing. Great bathroom and safe ways to open doors without touching them. Aquarium is an amazing site to see and is 100% worth the trip. Stingray touching exhibit was open surprisingly and I got splashed by them. Overall a very fun experience for the family and I.

A great place to visit, especially with children. They have a very nice selection of aquarium fish, from small and very colorful tropical reef fish to the big ones such as sharks, stingrays, etc. In upper floors lots of reptiles, crocodiles, spiders, toads and insects. Impressive!

We got there a bit later in the day and would have liked to have stayed longer but fantastic visit. Fish, reptiles, amphibians and insects. Very nicely laid out and all creatures look very well cared for. Very nice jellyfishes as well, usually trying to avoid them in the waters of Scotland but they mesmerising to watch. Well worth a visit 👍🏻

Even though my child enjoyed it, I definitely won't return myself. It's a hell whole of prams and buggies. The organisation of this place is atrocious. And parents here have no consideration for anyone else. It was so packed, they actually should have organised the time slots better. And then, I don't want to support this institution. This place is so old and outdated, an overhaul of the facilities especially for the fish and reptiles.

Für mich ein sehr schön gestaltetes Aquarium, aber für die Kleinen absolut top. Leider war die Insektenabteilung im obersten Stockwerk wegen Umbau geschlossen, die Preise sind bezahlbar. Toiletten sind vorhanden.

Very nice atmosphere, a lot to see, one of the best ones worldwide in my opinion. One star less because €20 entrance for adults only for the aquarium is in my opinion too expensive. Tickets not available at the entrance, you need to buy at main Zoo entrance (about 100 m to the left).

Always worth a visit. Unfortunately, construction is currently underway on the 2nd floor. That's why the floor is closed. Nevertheless, there is enough to discover on the other two floors (ground floor and 1st floor). It is very warm. You can leave your jacket at the cloakroom for €2.50. Tickets must be purchased in advance at the zoo ticket office or online.

Bought the tickets with Zoo, spent 3-4 hours in zoo I was thinking it will be at least 1-2 hours but it was shorter, there are really nice species in the Aquarium specially the jellyfish section was breath taking but overall it felt bit less after the zoo. Still really nice place to visit, I would recommend to buy tickets with zoo, there is a place for leaving the jackets but need to be paid, most places offer lockers where you deposit couple of euros for key and you take it back before you leave.

Good aquarium. Bit crowded on weekends. Perfect for kids. Insects and other creatures are bit interesting. Purchasing tickets in advance is preferred.

The aquarium itself was good, it had a variety of marine life including sharks Which is the most important thing to me, and the ticket is only 9 euros which is considered good, what I didn't like was the number of children and how messy and loud they made the place, Also there were renovations on the second floor so I was not able to see it, which I think is not Fair.

  • 3/5 Nicole L. 2 weeks ago on Google • 71 reviews New
We visited the aquarium on a rainy day. You can get tickets at the zoo ticket office or online in advance. Unfortunately the visit didn't convince us. Although there are a lot of never-before-seen fish to see, the aquarium is still relatively old school. You feel like you've been transported back to the 80s or 90s. I have experienced far more beautiful aquariums. It was also very crowded and very loud. After almost an hour we were through. I find the entrance fee unreasonable, even though I can imagine that the operating and personnel costs have exploded. We wouldn't come back again. There are nicer and cheaper bad weather alternatives in Berlin.

The Berlin Aquarium is a hidden gem within the city and a fantastic complement to the Berlin Zoo. It offers a captivating underwater world filled with a diverse array of marine life. The highlight is the stunning cylindrical tank in the center, which hosts a mesmerizing display of colorful fish and other aquatic species. The aquarium's layout is well-designed, allowing visitors to explore a variety of ecosystems, from coral reefs to freshwater habitats. One of the standout features is the jellyfish exhibit, which is beautifully lit and almost otherworldly. The aquarium also has a strong focus on conservation and education, with informative displays about the importance of preserving our oceans. It's a great place for families and individuals alike, offering an educational and awe-inspiring experience. The only downside might be the ticket prices and occasional crowds, but the overall visit is well worth it for anyone with an interest in marine life.

It is very small, but built on 2 floors, some things you couldn't look at because they were being built, you can see many small and large animals, e.g. Snakes, turtles, crocodile, seahorses etc.

Beautiful sea world. Right now there is reconstruction, so there is not a lot to see- we walked all museum in about an hour (slowly walking, seeing all fishes and animals). But kids loved and I believe after reconstruction it will be better.

The bigest aquarium of Europe. It was worth it. Amazing fishes, a lot of different species. Three floors: fishes, reptiles, batrachians and insects. Don't forget to admire the amazing arapaimas : the biggest fish from Amazonia. Tickets a bit expensive: 16€/person. Still worth it.

  • 4/5 Sachin G. 4 years ago on Google
Great collection of aquatic animals, insects, reptiles and amphibians. This place has three floors and has places for seating as well, which is required as there any many animals to see. Every collection has information plate next to it and you should read it to get detailed information about every specimen. Ticket price for aquarium is €16 per adult which I think is bit high as compared to other places(that's why one star less).

It's winter so some of the residents were staying in the warm.We did see the 2 baby pandas however and the Silver back Gorilla with his troupe amongst other animals. The Aquarium is well worth visiting, many species and lots of information about them .We spent over 5 hours at Berlin Zoo and would definitely return on another visit to Berlin which we like alot.

  • 4/5 Raychel W. 4 years ago on Google
Fair prices and lots of fun and interesting creatures to look at. Not the largest aquarium I've been to but it was very clean and easy to get around. Each level had a different animal classification and there was a small elevator for those with disabilities or anyone unable to walk up stairs. (There are quite a few of them) there are only 3 levels in this aquarium and they are all relatively small but filled with anime so very good use of the space. Oberallni had fun here and it was easy to get back to the zoo.

(Translated by Google) 16 euros for the aquarium is clearly too much. The tanks are much too small for the respective species. A star, because the admission price and the offer are too stark apart. And so far I thought that the tropical aquarium in Hamburg was already borderline in terms of space. But this is really bad ??? (Original) 16 Euro für das Aquarium sind eindeutig zu viel. Die Becken für die jeweiligen Arten viel zu klein. Ein Stern tatsächlich weil Eintrittspreis und Angebot zu krass auseinander liegen. (Translated by Google) The zoo and aquarium itself were very nice. But in the aquarium the mask requirement was disregarded by 3/4 of the visitors and the staff was not interested. Furthermore, the few children made so much noise by hitting the terrariums and screaming that you couldn't really relax and look at everything. It might be a good idea if the staff primarily controlled the wearing of the masks. We are currently not coming back and would not recommend a visit to the aquarium.

I really enjoyed spending time at the aquarium and reptile area. Some of the aquariums seemed small for the larger fish but on the whole the marine creatures looked well cared for and it was pleasing to see the reptiles all housed in environments similar to their native habitat. I felt quite ill once seeing a reptile exhibit in South America where the dwellings were small and all the flora (if any) was artificial.

There were mainly smaller tanks but they were beautiful. I'm an avid aquarium person and I saw a few things I'd never heard of! The soft corals were amazingly large. Only reason I didn't give it a 5 was because of the noise level. Be prepared for lots of kids who have no concept of "inside voice". But... kids are kids and there were a lot of excited ones there.

You can easily escape the big city streets here, and that in a different way than going to a park that is always overcrowded anyway. I also find the variety of fish simply fascinating and could stay here for days. It is very exciting to look at all the animals and watch them for hours. Really a good location to recharge your batteries. (Original) Ich bin hier vor Corona sehr sehr gerne her gekommen.

But the beetles are also really cool, especially the ones that aren't behind glasses. The only negative thing I can say, it is very loud when there is a lot going on. You can even stroke fish ^^ (Original) War wunderschön hier. Faszinierend wie groß manche Tiere sein können, vorallem dir großen Aquarien haben mir gefallen. This aquarium is a solid Chicago attraction to visit. At full price, I hesitate to call it a must see. In many locations it would be an incredible central attraction, however as a neighbor to the Field Museum, it stands as the second best Chicago Museum on the campus.

I love Shedd! However their mobile site does not make it clear the difference between Illinois resident pricing and general public. I paid double and I live in Chicago. When I tried to address this they did nothing. Normally I would not complain but $80 is a lot of money! They also sold new two tickets and then only had a time slot for one person. They corrected that so my family & I can go together but I’m still not impressed I’m paying double and I’m a Chicago resident & they said “welp sorry.”

It is a very fun and interesting place to go if you love fish. I went and I was really little and I can’t wait to go back. We have a lot of memories from shed aquarium and I really really want to go back. It is kind of expensive have a large family but if you only have three people in your family then you are good to go. It is located in Chicago which has a lot of other things to do. It is a huge aquarium compared to other programs. Not too far away is the science Museum, and the history Museum. They have a lot of things to look at actual aquarium I really do suggest that you go there I had a lot of fun when I went. They have a Lotta fish for children and adults to look at.

I will start with the bad, it's really over priced. The tickets are like $35 which is like going to Knott's berry farm and the cafe is priced like a theme park too. Now the good... Everything else. It's extremely high tech, clean, well taken care of and modern. There is an extremely well rounded variety of exhibits. Rain forest, aquarium, natural history area, earthquakes exhibit, living roof.... Very very cool place!

Hi! Please consider not going to the Shedd Aquarium if you were planning a visit. The Shedd Aquarium has a documented pattern of poor animal care, especially with its beluga whales. The Shedd breeds their belugas irresponsibly and separates mothers and calves unnecessarily. Additionally, the Shedd offers pay-to-interact programs with their belugas, which are unsafe and unnecessary to the whale's care and quality of life. Please feel free to reply with any questions or concerns. Go to learnaboutwhales.com to learn more about ending contemporary cetacean captivity.

Located next to the zoo. You can get a combo ticket to visit both places. The Aquarium it self is a building of 3 stories, on the first floor you will find a good display of marine life, very beautiful. On the second floor you will find reptiles and on the third some frogs and insects. We spend a little less than 2 hours there, even so it was a timed entry, the place was extremely packed. The place has a very poor ventilation and no air conditioning. It was so hot and humid inside that we couldn’t take it anymore and left.

  • 4/5 Saji 1 year ago on Google
A great collection of fishes, marine animals and reptiles. This place is located within the Berlin Zoo. The setting of the individual displays is very creative and brings to life the ecosystems that the fishes originally came from. Enjoyable for the kids (absolutely) and also for all

One of the best aquarium we have visited so far. Collection of sea creature is remarkable, eventhough it is not to large, yet we can see representative of many sea creature. It's a fairly mid sized aquarium housing a lot of variety of fishes and reptiles. Don't expect a gigantic size tank here like the ones you might have come across in the past. Small to medium sized tanks, decent enough for kids, but not good enough for enthusiasts. The reptile section however is really good.

  • 3/5 Alessandro S. 10 months ago on Google
I didn't liked this place as much as i would've thought. The first floor is the aquarium, you'll find here some types of fishes, not as much as i thought I would've find. The second floor and third floor you will find the cafeteria and the reptilians and insects area. This part is better than the aquarium itself. More organized, well illuminated, as well as the theme of the place is accurate. The aquarium is a separate ticket from the zoo, which you have to pay separately or in a combo. I didn't liked this place as much as the zoo, but if you want a nice aquarium experience i suggest you go to SeaLife, i love that place, you will too.

Expected a walk-in aquarium... but it's not... Other than that my visit here wasn't a disaster... it was a really good place to visit and I loved the variety of species they have on display...

Not as fun as the zoo, but a good addition to it. Would not recommend as standalone purchase, but is worth including in the Zoo-ticket.

Lots of different fishes and other creatures, great and exciting programme for families with kids. There are smaller tanks as well as bigger ones with sharks and all. Great place to spend a few hours. It’s recommended to buy the tickets in advance on the internet to avoid queues.

Great aquarium, the variety of different species, freshwater saltwater is very impressive, the upper floor with its reptiles is also very impressive! Don't forget to pet the koi!

Nice aquarium with a good variety of fish. The aquarium isn’t that big but you could spend a good hour looking around. It was quite busy when we visited so had to wait our turn to see some of the tanks. The student ticket is a very good price!

It was a thrilled and also disappointing experience. My almost 4 year old really enjoyed. It could have been more helpful, if they had a direction how the aquarium need to be visited. You need to come out of the zoo through the shop and the you have a separate entrance

This is my second time visiting the place. The latest is in September 2023, many are closed for renovation. The highest floor is not available. Beside all of that it was great and fun. My baby loves it.

I loved visiting this place. Inlove aquariums. You'll need at least 2 hours to visit this place alone. Buy your tickets in advance.
