To be really honest? It is just dozens of rooms with pictures on a wall, that most of us already saw during school time or at internet, organized on a board as a story telling with an audioguide. Really boring and time consuming. No pictures or video allowed from inside.

Why is this not on the guidebooks? What an awesome place to visit. Allow lots of time, it needs it. This is one of the most educational museums I have been to. It explains everything from the rise to the fall of Hitler. It is graphic in some parts and upsetting in a crew others, but that is history. You must visit if you are in Berlin.

A museum always tells a story. The Berlin Story Bunker tells the most amazing, breathtaking, educating, devastating, horrific, pathetic, ambitous and historic story of our time with deatil research and logical explanation. The rise and fall of Nazi and its leader Adolf Hitler, as well as the joy of humanity among all odds. The museum is situated in a war bunker made by Nazi for their own security. The museum depicts how the Nazi grew and occupied the world stage, how brutal they were against the oppositions, how inhumane they were against the Jews. The narration was smooth. It broke into many distinct episodes, aided by rare historic photographs and documents, and well connected by ample research and intelligent analogy.

Please please people Spend 2-3 hours here and slowly go through the whole exhibition/presentation. This is my most fave part for my Berlin trip. I dont really like this city but this attraction is really worth your time for the history of human. The souvenir here is a lot cheaper and a lot of nice postcards. I bought some!

One of the most informative museums that I've ever done. It goes in amazingly deep detail on how the Nazis rose to power. It goes deep into the details and gives a great understanding of the atrocities that went on during that time. The tour comes with a free audio-guide.

It took us 5 hours to go through the 43 rooms. Very interesting museum to visit. Definitely only for Adults since it is all photos and reading of boards with a good amount of graphic photos.

Well, the bunker has nothing to do with the information provided in the “museum”. The bunker was just one of the many that was built to house Berliners. The whole exhibition was just a recap of Hitler’s life and the history of the two world wars displayed on various boards, nothing you couldn’t read from a book or online. The most interesting element would be the recreation of Hitler’s bunker, but that can be seen in less than 5 minutes lol. No historical pieces of items which you have to be there to see with your own eyes. At 12€, it’s certainly hard to see the value. You would be better off spending the time at the Berlin Memorial Centre or the Topography of Terror museum where information is provided for free.

You really need at least 2 hours for your visit. It is very detailed. The audio guide is excellent and is on it's own 1 hour 30 minutes long. But well worth the visit. Highly recommended.

Interesting building PACKED with WWII content relevant to the site/location itself and the rise of German socialism. Personally, it was too much content to digest but the entrance fee wasn't too much where I felt I needed to stay longer to get my money's worth.... If you are visiting during the summer months note that the air inside the bunker is very much still/stagnant

One of the best museums I experienced in Berlin. The audio guide will take you on a journey through the rise and fall of Hitler. The Ukraine exhibition was a very interesting addition.

DON'T MISS THIS PLACE! A 6'500 sqm civil bunker built in 1942 where you will find a modern multimedia displays on Hitler and National Socialism. Minimum 2 hours are needed. Even if you know well this period you will learn... Like the invoice of the architect of the führerbunker address to Reichminister Albert Speer! Congrats to the curators! Excuse me for the few photos.

This was one of my highlights while in Berlin. Although it's not the actual bunker that was directly related to Hitler, it was so well done and created a view into the life and times of a very disturbing part of world history. I got lost in time here. So well done. It tell the story of Hitler from his birth right through to the war and a lot more. Most disturbing part were the photos on shoe. They were taking by German soldiers during the war as memobilia. But it leaves an everlasting memory on anyone that sees them. A part of history we would love to erase and wish that never happened. You need at least 4 hours here to get to go through it in detail. Well worth a visit.

Great museum! Precise and detailed information is displayed everywhere. The audio guide is a must because it gives you an overview of each room (or part of the museum). The good thing about being inside a Bunker is that you can lose yourself in the expositions because there are no windows to feel the time. It took me 4,5 hours to visit the Hitler exposition and 2,5 hours to the Berlin History.

(Translated by Google) What to say ... Perfect. !!! I do not understand that this place is not recommended in tourist books! We were made very welcome by staff who speak French very well. Stroll through these rooms with the audio guide (French) which tells you all about the history of the Second World War, the atmosphere, the photos that are often teary-eyed ... Everything is done to come out of this place with lots of pictures in mind. This place is a real punch. It is a must-see stop on your trip to Berlin. All my congratulations to this association which has done a real job of remembering. I recommend for the welcome, the context and the information! (Original) Que dire...Parfait.!!!

You can't take pictures from the inside or else I would have but this is an excellent exhibition that details how Hitler was able to get the people behind him and commit the atrocities he did. It documents everything from beginning to his rise to power to the war to his inevitable downfall. Given what Putin is doing the similarities ares striking. He is committing genocide against the Ukrainian people and must be stopped. Sadly history is repeating itself

I consider it a haven to be visited. The images of brutality in the chronological photography exhibition inside make you feel once again how brutal and painful the events were. It is forbidden to take pictures inside, you feel the cruelty and murderousness of the war as you wander through the concrete walls of the bunker. It was a beautifully designed shelter. You can quickly review the history of Germany.

This bunker is not advertised anywhere, it's about 30min walk South West from check pont Charlie, 11 euros entry, no photos allowed, you get a story remote & headphones. Very interesting stuff, takes you through Hitlers life, the war, and his hench men & families who shared this bunker right to all thier deaths, 40 odd rooms to visit, I skipped most of the Jewish part, very upsetting & cruel, The more deeper you go down the cooler it gets, It's one the places you must visit to tick the curiosity box.

Absolut lohnenswert!

Interesting location to learn about the rise and fall of the Third Reich listening to an audio guide. However, the inside of the bunker houses only photographs to illustrate the recording and could be a lot more enjoyable with the display of objects. Ironically, it’s forbidden to take pictures inside, but there’s absolutely nothing to take pictures from.

Interesting pair of museums within the bunker. I visited the Hitler, how did it happen part of the museum. Over 3+ floors the museum boasts a good amount of detail. There are English speaking headsets available to guide you as you walk around. The majority of the museum is picture and text rather than memoribilia etc. The audio guide does a good job of explaining each section, it is well paced.

Very informative self guided tour that consists of many raw footage and photos I had never seen. The photos will absolutely pull at your heart strings.. audio guide is a must! There is a reconstruction of the fuhrer bunker, as well. You can tell they truly put a lot of time and effort into sharing this. No photos allowed inside so, you'll just see my outside photo.

I am amazed & astonished by how the curator has managed to put all the pieces of history together. Specially the Hitlers room has been described as good as it might have happened. We also met the curator in person, he is very humble, polite and is happy to answer questions.

If you like your WW2 history or you’re into old bunkers this place is a must. Considering that it’s a bunker, I loved it. Quite harrowing, but that’s to be expected- you wouldn’t want it glamourised. Great exhibition, audio tour pretty good, teeny bit confusing at times but that’s because of the original layout, slightly pricey for a 45 minute walkthrough. Crazy to think that you could get to the u-bahn at the bottom of this bunker.

Be ready to spend a bit of time here, lots of information Exhibition is well presented and maintained, audio guide is good Lots of research done to prepare it Powerful images and photos selected for exhibition As a tourist, I appreciated a variety of books on sale for 1-3 euros It did seem quite a lot to intake, but it was all worth it. There is basic WWII info presented as well as some more detailed and interesting facts -- Part about Ukraine seems questionable and out of place. Almost like pushed on tourists

This is a really hard place to judge. The information is interesting, balanced and accurate. However, it really is just walls of text in various rooms - so really you are just kind of reading a book as you walk around. You would need 4-5 hours to do it all justice but be prepared for A LOT of reading/information. I would also suggest doing either the audio tour or just reading, not both as they are largely the same. One of those places that could desperately do with a modern way of showcasing information.

If you're a history buff who has a particular interest in WW2 and H's life (wasn't allowed to put his name in the review... ) then you'll enjoy this. The audio guide misses alot so we decided to do the audio guide at the start of each room and then read the boards.

What a plethora of information in this bunker! You can easily spend 3+ hours here reading the many artifacts listed throughout. If you don't have that much time, no worries because the pre recorded audio tape is a great summative of everything in the museum. If you're looking for history in Berlin, here it is.

Excellent!! Spent over 2 hours would recommend to be prepared to be standing and reading. Walked in with an expectation of will see what it is walked out impressed with how it is presented and thoroughly enjoyed it even with the sobering subject. Would definitely do it again presented the opportunity I'm sure I missed some as there was mass amounts of information to take in

Be prepared for a lot of in-depth reading. I went on the recommendation of my mum, and I didn’t really know exactly how the museum would be laid out or know what to expect. It was definitely very heavily based on reading. Which in itself is good, but I did find the layout a bit confusing and lost track sometimes. Overall, it was very interesting and had a lot of detailed information.

Overpriced Wikipedia page. The entire thing is very unengaging. You walk around in a bunker, but instead of seeing how living was like in a bunker you get a bunch of black boards with information that everybody learns in high school anyway. The pictures on them are nothing new either. The videos they show are either from movies or ripped straight from youtube. The only interesting thing is one corner where they put in a few old pieces or furniture. I payed 12€ for seeing things you can just look up on Wikipedia and google pictures.

Okay be very careful when you visit this one because you might turn up to visit the story of Berlin, but if you take the wrong door you're in the rise of Hitler exhibition. Now the exhibition is great, very well documented and thought out, but it's a bit of a shock to end up in the Hitler section when you were looking for the story of the city.

The bunker hosts two exhibitions, but we had the chance to visit only 1 of them - the one about Hitler. It was made in a very interesting way basically answering the simple question "How come it all happened?". Be prepared for about 2hour journey along 3 stories of the bunker, seeing a lit of rare photos accompanied by detailed explanation. Everything in chronological order of course. I think everyone should visit in order to understand at least a little bit about Germany and Berlin.

(Translated by Google) Nothing wow but still nice to visit if it is on the map of our trip.

Absolutely amazing. Even if you think you know the history there are so many interesting highlights and details explaining the social political context and trying to answer - how it happened.

Very interesting and well done. Audio guide is available

Well designed exhibit with an incredible amount of information. Give yourself at least an hour to take it all in.

This was a most fascinating, albeit at times harrowing, experience. The level of detail and amount of research to tell this very personal story is impressive. Well worth a visit!

Interesting place by itself and its history. The exhibition about Hitler was not very interesting for me personally, but it has some unique materials.

  • 5/5 Alex M. 2 years ago on Google
Most informative, articulate storytelling in (mostly) chronological order from the first days of Berlin to the final days of the Third Reich. Give yourself 2/3 hours to enjoy the experience.

Massive information, you really need at least 2 hours to visit. Interesting design and circulation. Audio guide available for free. Very recommend

Interesting location, but the information the exhibition gives you is just very basic. It's okay, but it mostly sketches the wide known chronology of the Second World War. Nevertheless, the room with the pictures of the Lwow/Lemberg pogrom is very impressive.

There is so much information here! Give yourself time to explore and read it all. The audio guide would have you move through the rooms to quick, I'd listen and then spend time reading. You could easily spend three hours here.

Great place to learn more about how and why WWII happened. The whole presentation has a shocking personal tone. It takes 2 hours if you just go through the audioguided tour. It takes 3 hours if you read through all the data.

Can easily kill four+ hours here if you want to read everything. Goes into so much detail about all aspects of the war and hitlers rise to power. It does get very harrowing at points but its what happened. It’s important that the truth of how bad humans can be is not forgotten. Very much worth what you pay and definitely an experience I’ll never forget.

I wouldn’t recommend it because the entire museum is kind of bits and pits being pieced together, poorly organized and way too much stuff that has nothing to do with the topic. Using movie themes and video clips is simply just a bad idea for a museum or an exhibition. Please stop doing this, I beg you! Not very informativ because many things are just common sense or can be found in wiki. Kind of like reviewing the stuff in your school history lessons. The staffs are quite friendly though and I almost feel sorry for them for writing such a review...

very interesting place to go to. The history behind these events go in depth. You must go inside the museum, each room has facts and information. Recordings are also available in different languages. The tour ladt about 45 to and hour but you can stay as long as you like to recap the history

Went to experience the history of Hitler, which was very interesting. The exhibition is very old school with plaques containing lots of pictures and text, which were a bit tough to get through. Some interactivity, with more audio and video, could turn this into a top notch museum and especially make this more engaging and enjoyable for the yonger audience.

Interesting concept, you get an audio guide at the entrance and walk through many corridors of the bunker with boards of information and pictures. You also see some time related items etc. For me it was a bit long (expect to stay at least 2 hours depending on how much you read.), I read most of the boards in the beginning but it was hard to keep focused towards the end of the museum. The audio was interesting though.

You need about 8 hours to fully take in everything here. This is one of the best, most detailed exhibits I've been to. I only got to stay for a couple hours, but it was totally worth it. Combining the audio guide with the exhibit itself gives you a very full sense of everything going on. I'd love to go back and finish.

Really interesting museum, although it's VERY long! After 1 hour there was a sign to say we were a quarter of the way through, so we had to speed up considerably!! Give yourselves 2-3 hours and focus in on the things which most interest you. I found the early history of Hitler's life and his rise to power the most interesting.

Key takeaway is to see what the bunker of where Hitler and his new wife Eva Braun died looked like. It is in one of the bunkers still standing that was built before Berlin was taken by allied forces. It is similar in thickness of his actual bunker. His actual is torn down. It is like any museum you spend time that interests you in the topic. I spent approx 5-6 hours. Lot of information.

Have been to Berlin on a number of occasions and never considered this place. However on my recent visit in early December 2022 in went. Well I must say I was very impressed. It is top quality. The audio guides were fantastic and the layout, detail and information were first class. Be prepared to lose track of time - I took nearly 4 hours! WELL WORTH the money. Make sure it’s on your list.

This was the first place we went after we flew in and it was definitely a good place to start a trip. Exhibits are well done and very informative. The reason for only 4 stars instead of 5....they don't allow photography (flash or not) inside.

Gear up, because it could take atleast 4 hours to finish the whole tour if you are really interested in the history. Otherwise, you can simply skim through the artifacts and pluck cards. Also, carry water because after the entry point, you can't buy anything.

I had limited time, so I only got to the first floor - the story of the events leading to the war. It was great! But if you're tall, like I am, don't forget to duck. It seems Germans weren't quite as tall back then.

A fascinating view into the timeline of Hitler's ride, with a call to question why it was all followed and allowed. Tons of detail are available throughout the displays, plan on spending over two hours of you like to read every section of the displays.

I can't imagine what it was like with thousands squeezing in to keep alive. Inside the bunker it was informative but hot and stuffy with tourist. I you want to see trur history it's well worth the tour price

  • 1/5 William M. 1 year ago on Google
Rude staff kicked us out 10 minutes before the closing time - Quite literally escorting us to the nearest exit (didn't allow us to speed walk through the final parts). Absolutely ruined the experience, as we didn't see the end... but at least the staff got to go home early (...sarcasm). Ditch the young guy with a beard working there and replace him with someone that values information about history over a selfish attitude to leave the second his shift ends. Real shame, because the bunker itself is fascinating!

Very insightful museum, with several interesting stories and expositions 2-3 hours to see the bunker. I truly recommend to visit this one. 12 euros/person. They don't accept cash as payment. Also, some struggle with some cards for some reason.

Whilst it was informative, it was very very long and also very warm - make use of the cloakroom before you commence! Thankful there were a couple of chairs dotted about as a sit down was needed.

incredible museum based on such an interesting question. How did it happen ?. I spent 5 hours here. Its very warm inside so make use of the cloak room. Probably not great for kids.

If one likes history, and doesn’t mind reading a lot, it is definitely a must visit place in Berlin. Only watch out for the time, one can easily spend 5+ hours to watch/read/listen to everything!

Super informative. Great exhibition. Give yourself plenty of time. Unfortunately we got rudely turfed out 10 minutes before advertised closing time - 'we are closing. You need to leave NOW'

The best experience in Berlin. Get the audio guide but also pause the recording and take time to read the exhibit. You need to have 3 hours to fully appreciate this experience. Very much great value for money
