For only €9 I definitely recommend! Going on each arcade machine once is worth more than the ticket alone! Lots of interesting items. Great for pictures and some great games to play. The themed nostalgic gaming spaces are amazing.

Definitely a must visit on your journey no matter if you’re only interested in video games or the industry and history behind it - you’ll see enough from both areas. The exhibitors have a lot to share and a lot to tell. And of course you’ll be able to play a lot of interactive games (both new and old) on their corresponding Plattform and(!) TV-screen. They even have an own arcade, a painstation and several separate rooms with consoles designed with furniture of that individual era. Definitely worth the money and the time you spend there!

Sehr nettes Personal dort. Wechselnde Themenausstellungen..

Amazing trip back to time, but expect small children to be overrunning the place. The museum has all the game consoles from the 70s and forward, and they even have kids' rooms from the 70s, 80s and 90s, as well as an 80s arcade. There are tons of interactive games. I loved the place, but unfortunately there were too many kids everywhere skipping the lines and doing kids stuff. But I am glad to see the place flourishing ❤️ Highlights: Four primitive AIs playing each other, old school kids room and the only console to be developed in the DDR!

What an amazing place to visit! If you're interested in computer games at all, this is THE place to go. They have loads of exhibits on the history and evolution of entertainment technology, as well as lots of actual consoles you can play, and even a gaming arcade! It can get a bit busy, which makes it harder to get a turn at any of the machines, but it's absolute heaven for gaming enthusiasts, especially if you're nostalgic for older games and gaming consoles!

THE place to visit if you are interested in computer games! This place is lovingly and thoughtfully curated with fantastic displays and loads of interactive stuff to do. You can even play the old arcade games! Wonderful gift shop and even more wonderful staff. I cannot recommend this fascinating museum highly enough! We will be back next time we are in Berlin.

This was a great museum for kids and game lovers. Interesting to see the revolution of games also fun to play lots of classic games that reminded us of old times.

This is a must if you are into retro gaming and old computing tech. Various arcade machines and replicas are available to play here as well as a good documentary history for loads of systems. Be warned that it does get busy with families so you may need to wait a while to use each attraction. Well worth the money and drinks were cheap too on site.

The museum itself is amazing. Not only does it visualize the history of games, it also lets you play many of them on the original old devices. The staff at the museum were very friendly, helpful, and forthcoming. There is a small shop where you can buy memorable souvenirs.

This museum was so great. I make video games and it was so cool to see the history. They had every game console ever made, an original Apple II signed by Woz, and a whole virtual reality section. Plus an arcade. It wasn't huge but probably like a one hour experience.

Pretty neat place. If you're into classic computers and video games, give this place a visit. There are also free to play arcade games and an interesting game called a 'pain station'. You actually have to sign a waiver to play it. No spoilers. 😊 The museum is a great diversion. It is a bit small and you'll be in and out in about hour. Still, it was a good experience. WOZ was there and left his mark.

I visited the Computer Games Museum in Berlin with my older son and we had a blast. It was a fun and educational experience for both of us, as we saw lots of old and unique consoles and learned about the history of computer games . We enjoyed exploring the rare originals, interactive objects and artistic installations that showcased the evolution of gaming over 70 years. We also had a chance to play old arcades and computer games there which was super fun. The museum staff were friendly and helpful, and the admission price was reasonable. I would recommend this museum to anyone who loves computer games or wants to learn more about them.

Absolutely loved this museum! Could have spent hours in here. There are so many interactive aspects to this museum. I loved how it took me back to my childhood and before so I could compare the games and consoles from the 80s till today. Some of the games from the 80s and 90s really were brilliant... others felt very outdated. At the moment they have a food exhibition which is filled with food themed games such as cooking mama, overcooked and fruit ninja. There is a game that makes you feel actual pain. I was not brave enough to try this but it is there for thrill seekers to try. The staff were also very helpful and there is a discount if you have a Berlin Welcome Card.

This place is insane! They have every console you could imagine and a good selection of playable games! The coat room is also a very handy feature! Would go during the weekend as on a Saturday it was packed, and never got to play any of the games.

Fun and very nostalgic museum for us who grew up in the 80's and a bit of the early 90's. We were kids again for three hours... The museum has a shop with nice ideas for souvenirs and gifts.

Interesting museum. So much rich information about computing and videogames history. You can feel there's a lot of work and love behind this museum. When I got there, they made a tour explaining the museum and its context. There are many machines you can play with. I absolutely recommend a visit to this museum.

cute, not very big, dedicated to forty-year-old nerds. I would have added more historical cabinets, kungfu master or double dragon types.

Many interactive gaming exhibits and displays of various old consoles and other gaming technology. Life-size statues of various iconic videogame characters like Link and Lara Croft decorate the foyer. The place seems to be geared towards teens.

Sehr interessante historische Ausstellung.

A nice museum of computer game history. While I enjoyed being there, I got bored really fast. It's very nice to get back into your childhood and grab a PS1 controller once again. Some exhibits are pure works of art, like painstation or boat where you could play fishing simulator, but overall it has too much text and reading for several hours is not what you would expect in a videogame museum. Nevertheless, I think I'm a bit nitpicky and this museum is still a super interesting place to visit

Very cool place. Lots of games where you can interact with and also in groups of people, so it's also fun with friends.

A fun place, but definitely not a cultural museum, it’s more to have fun and get to know the history of the computer games and evolution. Since this is interactive, you have to wait a lot to play a game, the rooms are small and with the summer weather it’s very uncomfortable and warm to be inside. You can play one turn at a time since there are other people waiting for their turn. I guess it’s better to go during a week day for it to be less crowded.

The museum.showa the evolution of computer games and allows you to go back in time and play with some consoles. Is an interactive museum for a computer games liver. It has an arcade with old games like Pac-man

Very nice and entertaining museum. It has a lot of very cool retro games, it brought me back to my youth. From monochrome games like castle to the original Mario Bros on Nintendo, and Prince of Persia and space invaders and all new stuff. As a family we all had lots of fun.

  • 4/5 Alex D. 2 months ago on Google • 3 reviews New
It was really full and I wasn't able to play with any of the machines, but there's a lot of information and displays on the history and cultural impact of videogames, which was my main reason for visiting.

A fun place to be for an hour or two. Nice memories for the old guys and interesting knowledge and fun for the young ones. The arcade could be more ventilated.

NERD HEAVEN!!! Really cool place, I could spend hours in there (and I did). There are really rare and fun games, and the whole museum really takes you through the history of gaming. It's like a legacy arcade. 10/10 recommend.

  • 5/5 David R. 1 year ago on Google
Very cool little gaming museum for nerds of all ages! Please note a few things: It’s not super big, so you will probably be max spending 1.5 hours there, but it’s a very fairly priced. There can be a bit of a wait before you can enter (we waited 20 mins on a weekday). There are lots of fun facts and information about the history of gaming and lots of games to try, but be aware that there might be several kids waiting in line. I definitely recommend it to anyone who are curious about the history of computer gaming.

Amazing place and such a great experience if you're into video games. You can go there and just to play in the old school arcade they have or other games but the museum itself is very informative, the hardware wall is impressive and the explanations are great! I absolutely loved the place. Would definitely go there again if I'm in the area :)

It was very fun, but I would have loved to see more of the nintendo classics like different mario bros or mario karts.

  • 5/5 C. K. 2 years ago on Google
Just a joy to relax and play some of my favorite video games, while also learning the history behind the industry. The level of details they put into recreating the different eras was exceptional. I hope they move to a bigger space and add more video games.

  • 5/5 Lydon C. 2 years ago on Google
I would only be critical and say it was a little vague where to begin, plus bring headphones with a cable to listen to some of the videos (and not have to buy a headset). Apart from that it's awesome. Loads of games to play and great fun education. Spent three hours there. Bring hand sanitizer too.

  • 5/5 Lutz W. 2 years ago on Google
A great place to visit if you've spent parts of your youth with Super Mario, console based racing games or any other classic. The museum offers a variety of games to play, from the good old pong up to PS4 games, including a good portion of arcade games. Great experience!

  • 4/5 Marco L. 2 years ago on Google
If you want to learn stuff about computer games and how it all happened, it's the place to be. Don't forget head phones, if you want to listen to the audio stations and be patient if you want to try out the Arcade machines (a lot of other people want to do that, too :-)). Though because of Corona limitations you only get 2 hours in there, so use them wisely. If you are really interested in the details, it won't be enough time.

  • 5/5 Philip E. 2 years ago on Google
What a treat, this brought back a lot of happy memories from my gaming childhood. The wall of consoles and the different bedrooms from various eras of gaming were the highlights. Also original dance dance revolution with metal pad!

  • 5/5 Shay P. 2 years ago on Google
Cute and fun place to be at. It has a nice collection of vintage games and arcade machines and some other consoles. Great place to go and see the history of gaming.

  • 5/5 Cédric T. 2 years ago on Google
Easily one of my favourite things to do in Berlin. The history of video games was very well explained and the old consoles and arcade games that you could play made the whole experience complete

  • 5/5 Jan S. 9 months ago on Google
This awesome museum will bring everybody back to the computer games of your childhood, no matter if you grew up in the 70s or the 2000s. With an exhibition of gaming consoles and arcades of the past decades, (many of which are playable) and information plaques in German and English this is the place to learn and have fun at the same time. If you are into video games be prepared, that you can spend a lot of time here.

  • 3/5 NoSty L. 2 years ago on Google
As of July 2021 their is a Konami DDR game with a home made metal pad. This place is OK and the game selection isn't that great. I don't know if covid has restricted how many machines can be in each room. I tried all the games and it seems all machine controllers work fine for casual gaming. The volume for all games are just too low to hear anything clearly. The gift store is good and would recommend checking it out if your a local. I give this place 3.5 Chuckie cheese out 5. 😏

  • 5/5 Lucien M. 1 year ago on Google
Simply put : wonderful. A cozy, chill place where I learned a LOT about my favorite pass time even though I’d consider myself pretty well versed. It’s so cool to see all the love and care that went into it. You can really feel the attention to detail from the presentation to the way you can interact with the exhibition. A must visit if you like the medium ❤️

  • 4/5 Andrew P. 2 years ago on Google
Definitely worth a visit some nice layouts showing the past eras of gaming and computers. I think a more flowing time line could be created but it works, lots of interesting facts and faces and of course the ability to play some of the all time classics.

  • 4/5 Bilgehan B. 2 years ago on Google
A great idea. A good way of showing the development of computer games and computers. Especially the young generation can understand how today's world was shaped decades ago. I enjoyed it. Some remarks: It could have been bigger. No signs of Street Fighter (quite a breakthrough in gaming world) No Amstrad model. Could have been better to show the evolution of a game series e.g. Fifa, Street Fighter.

I love a museum that doesn’t pressure you to read everything! We just planned all the games of our childhood and had lots of fun. Very interactive for adults and kids

  • 5/5 Rich H. 1 year ago on Google
I loved it! If you are a fan of computers and videogames, you won't be disappointed. There are so many videogames from oldest to newest, with explanations. Hell, you can even play some old school games in rooms that seem to come out from the '80s! Or lose yourself playing in the arcade room. Overral highly suggested.

The visual history of gaming with a free arcade to take an amazing trip down memory lane. From pong to the PS4 it’s all here, with some hidden gems that will make any gaming appassionate shad a tear. Nostalgia done right with hints to all levels of gaming platforms and genres. The reproduction of the gaming habitats make you feel at a whole different level

  • 4/5 Renato Cremonesi J. 1 year ago on Google
It's smaller than I thought but still a good place to visit while in Berlin if you are/were into games. It brings some nostalgia and you can travel through time. It's worth a visit.
