St Mary's Church is the oldest church in Berlin, with parts dating to 1243, although much of the current building is from the 19th century. The structure is mostly neo-Gothic, with some Baroque furnishings, such as the exuberant pulpit and organ. The church was originally Roman Catholic, but has been Lutheran Protestant since the Reformation in 1539.

St. Mary's is a Protestant church. It was Catholic before the Reformation. Build towards the end of the 13th century. The church was one of the first sights in Berlin that my wife and I visited. The surroundings are also pleasant.

It is a nice place. To be here needs enough time to at least learn and read through the history. The church has also nice things to see inside.even the walls inside looks good and taken cared of. As of now,as per observation, they're doing some maintenance in and out of the building as part of taking care of this historical site.

The church looks amazing on the out side an even better on the inside. I had no idea it looked so cool on the inside as well. If you have a few mins defensively worth a look around. It wont take you long to see everything on this inside as it's not that big. Still worth it if you are in the area.

Beautiful gothic Church in the heart of Berlin. The architecture is wonderful and while it was heavily damaged in WW2, it’s amazing that it still stands. The restoration work over the years has been well done. Charming church. Beautiful high vaulted ceilings, alter and tall standing columns. The exterior and how it’s been put back together and restored tells a story of its own.

Beautiful church right next to important sites in Berlin. The church is well maintained and it mixes very well with the modern/contemporary style of the city. The church has an organ and there's a statue of Martin Luther right in front of the church.

Went there before Xmas to see it for the 1st time. The organist and choir were rehearsing, so it was magical. And for the first time half of the benchs are placed so that you see both the choir and the mass. Very nice moment

Ein sehr beeindruckender Ort. Wir waren zum 74. Adventskonzert des Posaunenchors dort. Sehr imposant, wenn ca 250 Blechbläser zusammen musizieren. Gerne wieder ✨🎄✨

Great place, nice and peaceful, felt good to sit and relax while the sun shone through the tall windows and created a bright and comfortable environment inside. I’m not religious but being in a place like this does fill me with a sense of peace. Thanks and Hello.

I wanted to see if the church was open, but people were just leaving from an event. When I walked inside to check, a man barged into me physically shoving me out and saying it’s closed. Obviously it was my mistake but there is no need to be rude or physically aggressive. I would not want to go to a church that treats people in this way.

The church is impressive but I was surprised to see the souvenir shop was closed during the time I took to go to the cashpoint as advised by staff, as only cash accepted. I found this a bit strange... generally, it would be helpful tohave someone there to answer questions to confused tourists ... :))

When we-tourists strawling through the center and peeking in to the St.Mary's church learned about free concert 20minutes of Organ music, we decided to come back. And we did not regret it - the concert was very nice.

Beautuful medival church in the heart of Berlin city Center, right next to alexanderplatz and fernseheturm. One of the oldest churches in Berlin. Inside the church you can find breathtaking baroque organs where famous musicians used to take their first organ classes, as well as famous fresco painting - the dance of death.
