My
best
experience
during
a
weeks
visit
to
Berlin.
I
visited
with
Berliner
Unterwelten..and
it
was
exceptional.
The
building
is
a
dual
purpose
affair,
anti-aircraft
guns
with
a
range
of
28
km
on
the
top,
and
an
air
raid
shelter
the
size
of
a
ten
story
block
of
flats
underneath..
Its
actually
the
size
of
a
small
castle,
but
you
cant
tell
from
the
outside,
as
the
first
4
storys
have
been
buried,
and
are
now
home
to
wood
land,
and
the
rear
half
of
it
has
been
dynamited
and
collapsed.
As
the
traditional
entrances
have
been
buried,
you
enter
from
the
top
and
go
down.
There
are
picnic
tables
on
the
very
,
top
if
you
bring
food,
its
a
great
place
for
lunch.
Eliot
was
our
guide,
and
he
has
the
rare
qualities
of
someone
who
knows
his
stuff,
and
can
communicate
it
in
a
compelling,
compassionate
way
that
can
instantly
transport
you
back
to
the
days
between
1940
and
1945
in
Berlin.
There
are
photos
inside
similar
to
museum
exhibits,
The
next
time
I
come
to
Berlin,
I
will
book
the
rest
of
my
stay
around
their
tours.
Please
be
careful
on
their
website,
its
not
obvious
hat
you
have
to
check
the
boxes
confirming
that
you
are
over
18,
will
not
wear
sandals,
etc
etc
,
if
you
don't
do
this,
the
software
says
"
choose
another
day".
Thanks
to
Eliot
and
all
the
team
that
clearly
work
very
hard
to
keep
these
monuments
open
to
the
public,.
PS,
due
to
the
bats,
its
only
open
form
April
to
October
