Three girls and a boy... (and a sparrow). The sculptures, which are made of bronze, were created by Wilfried Fitzenreiter in 1988 and have stood in a fountain in front of the Palasthotel on Karl-Liebknecht-Straße ever since. The hotel was demolished around 2001 and the figures went into storage. Since 2007, the four of them (the sparrow only occasionally) have been sitting on the wall on the Spree promenade, Vera-Brittain-Ufer, opposite the Berlin Cathedral and right next to the Friedensbrücke, which leads to the Museum Island. :)

These four statues originally adorned the fountain of the Palasthotel that was a base for Stasi spying on Western guests. When the hotel was demolished the statues were relocated to the bank of the Spree near Museum Island. I'd guess they are 1930's era but I'm not sure. They are very pretty and photogenic and an iconic image of this area.

On the wall opposite the cathedral are four youthful, naturalistic nudes. There are three women and one young man. The figures had been installed as a group back to back in a fountain in front of the palace hotel since 1988. The fountain disappeared with the demolition of the palace hotel around 2001. The bronze figures were deposited and in 2007 they were erected at their current location. The sculptures are made by Wilfried Fitzenreiter.

'Three Girls and a Boy' is an interesting arrangement of statues that can be seen along the bank of the Spree River opposite to Berliner Dom in Berlin. Here you will find four bronze figures sitting upon the promenade wall, overlooking the river. The three girls and one boy are life size and nude. They seem to be enjoying a lazy, hot summer day, unsure if they should swim, nap or just watch life pass them by. The statues are the works of German sculptor, Wilfried Fitzenreiter and was erected in 1988. You can see them conveniently when visiting Museum Island attractions and others near this area of Berlin.

On the bank of the river, opposite the Berlin Cathedral, they sit from in 2007. They certainly attract the attention of walkers and tourists. They have a very interesting past related to the hotel, the DDR and the Stasi. The sculptures were created by the German sculptor Wilfried Fitzenreiter.

Always thought the statue’s context not quite right. Here is their original location at a former hotel now demolished.

Three Girls and a Boy is a work of art with seated sculptures of three girls and a boy. Two girls and a boy look at the Berlin Cathedral and one girl turns her back to it.

A nice group of bronze figures sitting high up overlooking the River Spree. Well presented and accessible these naked swimmers were a nice find on my river walk. They are arranged nicely for photo opportunities. Easily missed as you pass by.

The bronze figures are a great eye-catcher, especially when the cathedral is lit in the background.

Too many boring consumer-type tourists with phat climate footprints from flying all over. They should buy climate offsets

Interesting piece of life-size statues right across from the Berlin Cathedral. Carefree and daring yet comfortable in one's own skin is the impression I got out of it.
