Just pick a modern hotel somewhere else. When we got here the room wasn't ready even though we showed up an hour after check in time. No problem, we could leave our bags and go do something else. When we came back we still couldn't check in easily. The employees were not out to help. They don't have a traditional front desk. They have a self service check in and a couple kiosks. After 10 minutes we found the room the employees were sitting in and were able to get bags and room keys. The room was clean, but pretty miserable to be in. It was very hot and the a/c barely blows any air and often times out and turns off. We were lucky that the windows open up to allow some airflow. I'd cool off with a cold beverage, but the fridge also doesn't cool the drinks. If you come in the winter maybe this place will be more suitable. I'd look elsewhere for comfortable accomodations.

I struggled a little bit between 4 and 5 stars. But overall I had a great experience. The complaints in the other reviews are true somewhat. If you are used to lots of AC it might be a bit uncomfortable, but I stayed during a heatwave and found it fine. The cleanliness of the room was good. The only real criticism that I found valid was the wifi. Perfect signal at the entrance but 3-4 steps in and it drops to almost nothing. The rooms seems quite well insulated from each other as I get no noise from anything so I suspect that leads to the problem. But overall it was a good experience. Staff was approachable and easy to work with in my experience as well. Its a quick walk to the subway as well so you can get everywhere quite easily. I would definitely stay again.

Wonderful hotel to stay . The hotel belongs to one of my close friends relative who had put me here to stay seven years back. Should appreciate how we are made feel like we are still in our own country

Why 2? I would have given this hotel a 4.0 if I hadn't gone to the restaurant on the last night. If you care about location and comfort, I definitely recommend this place. Cons: - Understaffed - Untrained staff: The bartender was extremely inconsiderate - maybe he was busy with orders - but ignoring the only non-white person in the order line made me feel like I'm living in the 1900s. Pros: - Clean and spacious room - Equipped gym and Sona - Nice lobby! - Fairly good location - Staff greeting you are very welcoming.

The hotel was beautiful and so was my room. The only two issues were that the pillows were too big and far too soft, to the point that you'd just sink into the mattress, and the a/c was not really cooling the room sufficiently although I did have it on the lowest setting. I would absolutely stay there again though!!

Fantastic hotel and very modern. Only thing I wasn't a fan of was the self check in service, lacked a personal touch and there was zero information about the breakfast times which we had paid for so missed the whole trip. Tv wasn't working and zero WiFi connection in our room unfortunately

I’ve been to the Berlin Berlin hotel twice for work, and I love it. Checking in and out is super easy. The rooms are always extra clean and well maintained and breakfast is excellent. Staff is friendly. Wifi was fast.

Really bad. Not recommended to anyone. After we checked-in our room was missing bed sheets and towels. No problem, but after I went to lobby to ask to get them I got laughed at my face. End of the day we waited 4 hours for those sheets and towels. It was already 12:15am. I were tired and wanted to go to sleep after checking in, but that was impossible in this hotel. We had to go 3 times to ask for them and call 2 times to the lobby because staff forgot (and it wasn't busy time either). Rooms looks visually good and are like in the images, but it practically doesn't have anything you would expect from 4,5 star hotel, or Junior suite we booked. - No working air conditioner, room temperature is really high during summer - Bathroom smells really bad and seems dirty - Fridge is old, empty and barely working - Cups, levels etc were dirty On top of that staff is really rude. Hotel is a construction site from inside and there is no working common places like a bar, restaurant etc. No one is helping you or taking you seriously as a guest. 1 starts out of 5, but recommend to everyone stay away from this hotel.

The room was very nice, very quiet, and the mattress was very good. Had some really good night sleeps. The hotel is huge so the breakfast lounge is gonna be really crowded, but the food is good and so is the service. We asked for a lunch box as we left very early in the morning, and it definetly did not disappoint. The check-in was a bit difficult as the tablets lagged a lot, but was manageable. On an on a very good experience.

The hotel is very well located and the breakfast buffet is phenomenal, however the rooms are dark, warm (not sure why the a/c never cooled) and the wifi does not work in the room, not even the network for the conference center so I had to do my work and have video calls from the lobby. Another bad experience was the fact that my trip changed and I had to check-out the day before, however they completely refused to refund that night, even though I had stayed there for a week already. Their argument was the “fixed rate” but a hotel that size does not lose anything by refunding €100+ to a guest to improve an already mediocre experience. I won’t stay there again.

Really nice stay. Room, food and service was good. There was a big digital upgrade when we came in which had an automatic checkin and checkout (it didn’t work). We extended our stay by a few hours to wait for the train. Room service just came into the room although our sign was outside (guess it wasn’t recorded). But i would definitively stay there again once everything is sorted. But is right outside the door. Gym and sauna were well kept. Buffet breakfast was pretty good.

Food is lovely and reasonably priced. Lovely relaxing atmosphere. Highly recommended. We were guests so did stay overnight but visited and enjoyed the food twice during our stay in Berlin.

This is a nice hotel in a good location. The rooms are family adopted since they have fold away bunk beds so you can easily fit a family of four in the rooms. Their breakfast is nice due to its wide arrangement of food.

👥 I interacted with receptionists, barman and cleaning people. Everyone is kind and they are excellent hosts. 😴 The room was big enough. It was clean, bed and pillows were comfortable. We enjoyed the tea after a long day and coffee in the morning after a comfortable sleep. 📍 Location was great. Not too touristic. Clean surroundings and close to the zoo. 🌟 Hotel is clean, nicely decorated and big. Like the art at the reception! 👋🏻 See you again Hotel Berlin, Berlin.

The staff at the Hotel Concierge is not very friendly & helpful when I asked for help to contact the Berlin Airport for my lost luggage. I'm disappointed with such a service. However the housekeeping staff are fantastic & friendly - they smile & greet daily which makes my day better!

Modern hotel nearby the city centre of Berlin. Easy connection with the underground. Superb breakfast, great bar and restaurant concept. Clean and cozy rooms. Would definitely recommend to family, couples or friends.

The hotel is clean & stylish. Some of the staff are very friendly. There is a very apparent lack of staff, this is conscious decision by management to look modern but a computer doesn’t quite have the same welcome as a friendly face. There is a shop that has almost everything you might need or may have forgotten, it is also unmanned but this is a lovely show of trust. Breakfast is slightly pricy but has a large choice.

The Hotel is really well equipped, the breakfast were amazing, there was everything what you need. The bar inside is also very nice and rooms are cozy and big. Only one thing anoying is self check-in. If you pay for the service, you expect an excelent service. The check-in wasn't quick, because we were 3 people in 2 different rooms and the guy from the Hotel wasn't very helpful.

Upon arrival it was a self check in. No one there to greet us. It was quite confusing especially when you’re tired after travelling. The hotel was very hot, the rooms were hot, the air conditioning wasn’t doing anything so we had to leave the window open as we slept. The mattress on one of the beds was about 5 inches too wide. So it kept moving and made for an uncomfortable sleep. A maintenance repair man let himself into our room with another man. He knocked once and instantly he opened the door with a fob and started to walk in I had to stop him, he explained that they were fixing the TV I said we don’t mind we didn’t need it fixed. This went back and forth a few times until I had to let him in. I felt very uncomfortable with the interaction. As the two men entered the room and closed the door behind them I got up and told my daughter to come with me as we stood at the door open. After a few minutes the man said that myself and my daughter could leave and come back I said no, that I’ve been made feel uncomfortable either of us could have been getting dressed. That me and my daughter are two women travelling alone and you just let yourself in. Then when I said no you kept on insisting. I told him I wasn’t notified of this visit, no one rang ahead. The two men eventually left the room apologising on their way out. Then I received a call from another staff member asking if my TV was fixed. I said no, And we didn’t care we weren’t using it. They said that’s ok. It’s already scary enough travelling as women, we don’t need people letting themselves into our rooms and refusing to take no for an answer. I was worried for the rest of our stay that someone would just walk in to our room. The hotel is beautiful, but I wouldn’t go back again

My experience at this hotel was, to put it kindly, underwhelming. The room I was given reeked of an unpleasant smell. It seemed as if a previous occupant might have been smoking, which left a stale and offensive odor that the intense room freshener failed to mask (made it worse, to be honest). The bed, which could be folded up against the wall, was extremely uncomfortable, a good night's sleep was virtually impossible, making my stay even more frustrating. Adding to that, the overall condition of the room was slightly worn (for example half of the TV channels didn't work) and it was quite clear that the hotel hasn't done a good job of maintaining and updating everything. To make matters worse, the check-in and check-out processes were self-service ONLY and incredibly tedious. Instead of a swift, smooth process, I was left struggling with a laggy, unresponsive touchscreen and long, unnecessary steps. It's really only two stars instead of one because the shower worked well and the location of the hotel was good for where I needed to be, but for the price I paid per night (170€), I expected a much better experience. I would strongly advise against staying at this hotel. There are far better options available at this price point. This place is absolutely not recommendable, save your money and your peace of mind by looking elsewhere.

Just back after a 3 night stay with my family and I have to say I was blown away by this hotel. It was modern, clean, efficient and extremely good value for money. 5 of us in one room, 2 parents, 2 adult children and 1 teen. Still plenty of room. Didn't try food there but the lobby/bar area was very modern and had lots going on. Would highly recommend.

This is a really good hotel - and amazing value. Don’t judge a book by its cover - inside the concierge, restaurant and breakfast areas are very spacious, well decorated and clean. Great places to work from, chill and the best breakfast buffet I have ever had. Generous place. Highly recommend!

I went with my kids. The location is nice, you can easily get the tram with 2 mins walk. Rooms were clean and they had bunk bed option for my kids( which was cherry on top).

On one side: Nothing happens in the area, smelly corridors and a laggy TV. On the other side: Cozy bed, nice bathroom, good space and close to bike stations and a pretty ok staff. Would recommend for people who want to watch their phone in bed but NOT for people who want to truly experience Berlin

Huge hotel close to bus stop. Good connection to city centre. Comfy beds but mattresses were sliding of the bed base. Breakfast (€15) great choice, really good. Room air-conditioned but any other locations too hot.

I feel a little mixed with a lower Service rating. The "front desk" and customer support was great. Estiban while working the desk was an amazing customer facing staff member. The room cleaning staff did well but kept on turning the AC off and opening the south facing blinds creating a good deal of discomfort when returning to the room. There did not seem to be a working solution to that problem the entire week we were there.

me and my friend had a great time! we booked the cheapest room possible and didn't expect much. when we arrived we were immediately surprised to see the beautiful lobby. the check-in was really easy and a staff member even came to help us check in quicker. our room was way bigger than expected and very clean. we couldn't really lock the door to the bathroom but that didn't bother us much. it would've been nice to have maybe two water bottles ready in the rooms, as the wondermart downstairs is a bit expensive. the drinks at the bar were great and there was a few ping pong tables which made our night very funny.

Very nice and clean hotel. Hotel's application for automatic check in/out was not easy to handled and work with it. The room's mini bar was empty. The room's price was accepted for the region prices. Hotel's staff was very polite and and friendly.

The attention was horrible, I would say, is the weakest point of this place. The man "helping" people, when they have issues with the check-in, doesn't have any sort of knowledge on how to treat people properly, is unfriendly and doesn't have the intention to help when a real issue is present (we had an important issue with our reservation) but rather he is ignoring the issue and responding with things that doesn't have any sense. For some reason, on one of the nights, the hotel needed to take the electricity off from the rooms for hours, 1. They took the electricity off way before the time they informed they would do that. 2. They didn't provide anyone with an extra or a partial reimbursement for this issue (This issue was not notified during the reservation). The hotel room was nice, clean and comfortable but quite small.

Recently stayed here 3 nights for a festival at the stadium. Easy transport via 1 tube less than 10 min walk away. Easily connected with anywhere in Berlin. Room was ready even though we arrived early so that was good. Very clean room and good size for 2 girls with a lot of stuff. Full size toiletries in bathroom. They have a bar/restraunt and a very handy little shop in the hotel to get snacks/beers/drinks for room etc. No complaints would definitely stay again.

During the (self) check-in, when our friend opened his room first he saw a women's clothes and her other stuff in "his" room. It turned out, that the hotel give that room to another person as well. After that we weren't sure about our belongings' safety in the rooms, so we had to put everything into the safe. I would not recommend this hotel at all to anyone.... First the self check-in is hilarious for at this price point (the average person would expect that there is at least one receptionist who is helping and also doing the guest's check-in), and the other and worst experience was the room that was also given to another lady....

The cleaning service is terrible. They just replaced my towel with a new one, made a bed and nothing more, literally nothing more!!! I have been to many hotels in my life but I have not seen such a bad cleaning service for a long time! Internet connection is poor!!! They have a nice sauna and a decent gym and very nice receptionist !!!

I found this hotel after a lot of searching online. A really lovely hotel, very modern, friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are comfortable, fully furnished and the decor is really funky. The location is great too, there’s a bus stop metres from the front door servicing all of the central routes. A short walk from the Tiergarten too. I would gladly stay here again.

Air conditioning is a luxury, understood, but every hotel I’ve stayed in while in Germany has had a better air conditioning than this place. There’s no sign to leave on the door to tell housekeeping to not disturb, which can be awkward when having a romantic weekend. The fridge inside the room was more of a heater, which prevented us from keeping anything perishable. A lamp in the room is obviously broken, with another ceiling light nonfunctional. Simple customs and expectations of a hotel were not found here, especially for the cost.

Very good. Well conected by bus, and still close to the historical center. Staff is very warm and helpful. Room was very well furnished, clean + super comfortable bed. There is a fully equipped gym and a sauna with a super structure (free of charge), which is very pleasant after a long tourisc day. Totally recommend it!!!

Booked by booking.com there no traces of the renovation work taking place. Room was clean and ok but not more. To my big surprise no hot water boiler in the room. Nor any tea bags. That should be the case on a hotell of this level. Breakfast was great. Staff excellent. Location great. The buss 100 25 m away from the entrance and this buss line offers excellent connections.

Here due to flight delay. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel undergoing a lot of construction so no bar etc right now but our room was lovely.. Very happy to see they are accommodating some Ukrainian refugees fleeing the Russian invasion, the staff are going over and above to help them which was heartwarming to see.

Nice hotel with friendly staff. Room is nice, just as expected from pictures. The breakfast could have had more variety, but is still up to good standards. Easy bus connections through route 100 and close to underground train line (approx 15 min).

Guest friendly. I loved the initiative to do the Check-In Online. Plus, the hotel has some tablets to do the check-in/out. Super nice!! The rooms are very comfortable. They have everything that you need. Super breakfast. Thank you. Will be back

This review is hard, because there was so much about the hotel that we liked. The room was updated, and had a beautiful bathroom. The lobby and amenities were new and convenient, and the breakfast buffet was absolutely amazing. The location is very nice too, close to the embassies and Tiergarten, as well as shopping and transit. My main issues were in the rooms. The wifi signal was not strong at all in our room, and the Air Conditioning didn't work at all. The room was constantly too hot for comfortable sleeping. We told staff, and they told us to 'open a window' and didn't look into our issue at all. Our room was in a slightly different area from the rest of the rooms, and near the rest of the rooms the AC was cold. I'm confident that if you get a room in the 'main' area of the hotel your room will be to your liking. Also, the hotel is very much still under construction. This didn't affect our stay, but didn't improve it either. I've come back to edit: after leaving this hotel, they took the time to reach out to me about my lost luggage, and provided options for return, which was very nice.

This is a really well located hotel not very far from Victory Column and leading to Tiergarden. The hotel is high quality and staff are the same. Food is excellent and rooms really comfortable. I have stayed in Berlin on 3 occasions and this is one of the best hotels I have stayed in and that includes the Hilton. I would recommend it to most visitors.

Located perfectly in the middle of so much culture and a zoo close by as well everything easily within walking distance. Nice and helpful staff, with clean rooms, and a decent breakfast menu for the price. Lots of power outlets in the room, and an empty fridge to keep drinks etc. that you buy during the trip, cold in your room. Would definitely keep it in mind for my next trip to Berlin.

Great rooms, comfortable beds, amazing staff, good selection on breakfast. Only location is quite away from the city centre but while booking we were aware. Great quality for the price, though.

The hotel lobby and general amenities are lovely, but the rooms lacked in anything special for a four star hotel. Bit confused with the digital check in, which was useless. I had to check in online before coming, and then check in again at the self service entrance, then had to remember my 4 number room to the go to the actual check in desk to pick up my key card and also check in the second guest. Bit of a waste of checking in. Also the online check out didn't work so I had to check out again at the self service desk. I did appreciate the shop downstairs, very handy, but was disappointed that the room didn't have anything in it. There was a coffee machine, but no creamer/milk, no glasses for cold drinks (only coffee cup). So when I went to get a wine downstairs from the shop, I had to queue up at the bar for a glass (which was busy because they host shows there) The room was clean, bed was comfortable. There were no towel hooks in the bathroom? I complained about a broken window lock in my first room (could hear outdoor noise and feel a draft) so they relocated me straight away. Pros -clean comfy room -hotel shop -nice service Cons -room lacking in a few things for a four star hotel -had to online/self check in three different ways, so quite useless I probably would have given four star review if it was not dressed up to be a fancy 4-star high range hotel. It's pretty average to me. 3 stars is most accurate.

Excellent hotel. The hotel mistakenly gave me the wrong room and corrected the error. They provided us with free breakfast the next day to apologise. The sauna and gym are excellent but the locks on the lockers need tending to as most of them did not work. The bar was good value and staff were exemplary. Two downsides is that the room was not cleaned very well. When we entered for the first time the toilet brush was in the toilet. We had the room cleaned whilst out and about and some areas remained dirty. Notably the mugs were not replaced with new clean ones. I cannot really complain much at all so I think this warrants 5 stars.

I really don't know how to describe this hotel. Although I arrived late and an error occurred during the booking process, three days before my arrival, the staff was very friendly and helpful. I would like to thank them all for this interesting stay. The room It was very comfortable and there was everything I needed. It was a successful experience and I wish I could come back to Berlin to stay in your hotel.

Perfect hotel for traveling with kids. Their family rooms with 4 beds are very nice. Good breakfast is available and the staff at the bar was super friendly and professional. Beer comes directly through a “Barbie” tap ;-)

We had an excellent stay at the Hotel Berlin. The staff was incredibly kind and helpful, although the check-out process was a longer than wishful in our case. When not having booked by credit card, you can expect a slightly less efficient checkin and out. We did however got a free upgrade to a superior room, which was incredibly tidy and well located within the rather large building. We haven't eaten there as we wanted to check local places for both lunch and diner, but the restaurant looked very good for as far as we could tell. Overall I would consider returning to this hotel.

We stayed a week at Hotel Berlin, Berlin in September. We found the staff to be really friendly and helpful and the lobby area is bright and welcoming. Following other reviews I specifically requested we get a quiet room not overlooking the square to avoid any road noise. The room itself was quiet, well appointed and perfect for our stay where we were out and about mostly. I've only scored 4 stars because the room wasn't as clean as I'd expect, with quite a dirty water mark behind the net curtain on the wall. It looked pretty unsightly. Also, the air conditioning was pretty poor and did very little to cool the room. Also, the fridge was a bit rubbish! That said, housekeeping did a lovely job in presenting the room each day, so just needs a general overhaul. The breakfast was good and we enjoyed it. The hotel is located right near to a bus stop so getting about isn't a problem. We loved being so close to Tiergarten and ran there every day. Overall, a good stay but could have been 1 star better.

Very easy hotel to book and visit for an American that has not been to Germany before. Check in / out is done via a kiosk that has selectable languages. All the staff seem to speak at least some English. The rooms were very nice especially for the price compared to hotel rooms in the US. The shower was my favorite part as the water pressure and flow were amazing, the best I have ever experienced. The food at the hotel restaurant was also good at very reasonable prices, the selection wasn't massive though. The atmosphere at the hotel restaurant was also nice and the staff was responsive. (Although sometimes the table ordering app wasn't working so you would have to get up and order at the bar). The only real complaint I have is the AC never got the room quite as cool as I would have liked for sleeping. The beds also only have a duvet and no top sheet, not sure if that is standard practice in the area but it did contribute to being a bit too warm during sleep. I'd come back but I would bring my own sheet to cover up a bit but not get too hot at night.

  • 4/5 Martin H. 8 months ago on Google
The rooms have everything you need and nothing more. A bed and a bathroom. If you plan to spend a lot of time at the hotel, you'll soon run out of things to do. There's a bar with comfortable surroundings, a sauna and gym as well. The breakfast area is a bit chaotic when busy - it is recommended you go early to avoid having to wait for everything. The service is good and very attentive, but the self-check-in system is a bit iffy and requires assistance from the staff.

The room was spacious, comfortable and nice. Furnitures looked new and clean. However, they were NOT generous in providing rooms with basic things such as slippers, daily new towels and tissues. Every time I had to contact them for bringing these stuffs to my room, and even sometimes they refused to bring and they said that they don't have it! That was very uncomfortable for me!
