My
wife
and
I
stayed
at
the
Hilton
Berlin
from
Monday
27th
November
to
Saturday
2nd
December.
Firstly,
there
were
no
issues
with
check-in,
the
gentleman
who
booked
us
in
was
really
pleasant,
I
let
my
wife
do
this
as
she
wanted
to
practice
her
German
language
skills,
when
she
got
a
bit
confused
the
gentleman
spoke
in
English
and
said
"
it's
OK
I
speak
English"
to
the
relief
of
my
wife
and
both
had
a
chuckle,
Brilliant
Service.
The
gentleman
who
cleaned
our
room
was
really
good,
he
would
always
say
if
we
needed
anything
to
let
him
know,
our
thanks
go
out
to
him
as
well.
The
bar
staff
were
very
good
and
pleasant
to
deal
with.
Thank
you
to
them.
The
gentleman
on
the
concierge
desk
was
really
good,
thank
you
to
him.
We
left
our
bag
in
the
holding
room
as
we
checked
out
at
11am
and
weren't
getting
picked
untill
3pm,
the
older
gentleman
was
funny
and
really
good,
thank
you
to
them.
The
room
itself
was
large
enough
for
us,
there
was
a
wardrobe
unit
on
the
left
as
you
enter
the
first
door
contains
2
shelves
and
the
safe,
I
had
to
use
bluetac
to
keep
the
safe
door
shut,
we
didn't
set
a
lock
on
it
as
we
didn't
use
it,
there's
a
hairdryer
in
there
as
well.
The
second
door
contains
the
iron
and
ironing
board,
then
there
is
the
minibar,
it
is
stocked
but
be
careful
as
whatever
u
take
out
is
automatically
charged
to
the
room.
There
a
kettle
with
the
normal
tea's
and
coffee's
but
for
staying
for
almost
a
week
then
2
milk
cartons
aren't
enough,
I
would
suggest
that
there
should
be
at
least
12
milk
cartons
which
does
6
cups
and
12
coffee
sachets.
We
went
to
Lidl's
to
get
a
jar
of
coffee
and
a
bottle
of
milk.
The
room
could
do
with
a
chest
of
drawers.
The
bed
and
pillows
were
comfy
and
clean.
The
TV
remote
control
didn't
work
that
great
but
but
that
wasn't
really
an
issue,
if
it
had
been
I
would
have
asked
for
some
new
batteries.
The
shower
room
was
small
but
it
did
the
job,
we
had
a
walk
in
shower,
no
issues
here,
the
door
is
narrow
so
if
ur
a
large
person
or
use
walking
sticks
this
might
be
an
issue.
Now
the
downside.
There
is
no
heating
in
the
room,
the
radiator
is
under
the
window
which
doesn't
work,
I
turned
the
heating
dial
on
the
radiator
but
there
was
no
heat
at
all.
No
radiator
should
be
placed
under
a
window
anyway
and
even
if
it
did
work
once
u
draw
the
curtains
all
the
radiator
would
do
is
heat
the
window,
that
needs
to
be
moved
to
wall
next
to
the
bed
so
when
it
does
work
it
then
heats
the
room,
when
we
first
arrived
i
had
to
sleep
in
the
robe
and
thermal
socks
cause
the
room
was
cold,
there
are
other
comments
about
the
radiators
so
it
looks
as
if
there
not
taking
the
heating
issue
seriously
and
berlin
got
down
as
low
as
-7
overnight,
im
not
saying
that
the
hotel
room
being
cool
directly
resulted
in
me
getting
the
cold
but
it
certainly
wouldn't
have
helped.
The
bar
prices
are
steep
but
this
is
where
money
is
made
however
28
euros
for
a
large
wine
and
0.5L
of
beer
is
really
steep,
but
if
you
dont
want
to
spend
it
then
don't
drink
it.
Breakfast
is
a
normal
buffet
breakfast,
it's
a
free
for
all
and
not
table
service,
lots
of
choices
but
the
only
criticism
is
that
the
eggs
are
bit
yuk,
the
scrambled
eggs
seem
as
if
there
not
cooked
enough,
the
fried
eggs
still
had
the
clear
white
egg
on
top,
it's
not
hard
to
cook
eggs,
the
bacon
is
cooked
to
a
crisp,
why???
And
some
of
the
coffee
machines
only
give
u
half
a
cup
of
coffee.
Overall,
breakfast
service
could
do
better.
There's
a
little
shop
near
the
lifts,
not
seen
that
before
but
a
brilliant
idea,
it's
self
service.
The
hotel
is
10mins
from
lidl
2
mins
from
the
Stadtmitte
underground
taking
you
directly
to
Charlottenburg
and
Alexanderplaz
without
changing.
20
mins
to
brandenberg
gate
and
the
reichstag
building.
10mins
to
checkpoint
Charlie.
Overall
its
a
good
hotel
with
good
staff
running
a
large
hotel
within
a
challenging
environment.
We
will
come
back
to
Berlin
and
more
than
likely
stay
at
the
hilton
again
but
not
in
the
winter
due
to
the
heating
issue.
