The hotel was pretty standard, rooms fairly basic, excellent breakfast but I would not stay here again due to the air conditioning not being at all functional. 30 degrees outside, same inside, I hardly slept for 4 nights. Would not advise staying here during July and August.

Check-in: 5/5 Room standard: 5/5 Quiet: 5/5 (maybe it's just luck and I had no neighbours though) Breakfast: 5/5 (very wide selection, they 3ven gave a vegan, gluten-free corner) I'm used to Scandic from my travels in Scandinavia, and I was worried if the standard would be what I'm used to. I was happy to see that the hotel has the same vibe with focus on sustainability and Scandinavian atmosphere (including the omnipresent moose and bird chirping in the elevator). The rooms are nice, clean. Breakfast, in true Scandic style, is a true feast: hot food, cold food, sweet stuff, fruit, veggies, yogurt, great selection of pastries (check out the pictures).

Stayed here for the second time recently. The location is very good, staff were helpful and friendly and the room was comfortable. Was great value for money.

Love this hotel!!! Even super dog friendly! 3rd floor terrace is great. Amazing buffet breakfast. Extremely environmentally friendly. Very cool feature in bathroom mirror, heated in behind so that a square doesn’t fog up! Could use a mirror in the actual Room. Good hairdryer! Temperature is controlled via the TV. very comfy beds and pillows. Duvets are very warm and comfortable too.

Rooms are modern, nice, and clean. Free breakfast is awesome, so is the free minibar. The disappointment is around service and friendliness: I arrived at the hotel around 2:20pm from a 16 hour international trip and they had the audacity to suggest I should go and get lunch as check in does not start until 3pm. So they threw me back on the street, in a city I did not know, while being tired from jetlag and the trip. When I came back, there were two busses of people waiting to be checked in. Took another 25min to get checked in because they are super slow and are not staffing the reception appropriately. Another disappointment was that they do not provide washing towels.

poorly cleaned rooms when you ordered it, not done at all normally, modest rooms, with kettle and powder bag coffee type, very good breakfast menu! good bar and patio by the bar (balcony) is centrally located, possibly garage space should be booked as it was completely full when I was there.

Rooms are too small for families. Extra 24 Euros for breakfast. Hotel doesn't have laundry in the facilities. Showers are very small feels like you are in a coffin. Hallway carpets are disgusting need cleaning a lot of dog pee around. Not sure why it says kid/family friendly place. It is just the same as other hotels there is nothing less or more family friendly. Hotel doesn't offer dinner food. Overall for the price I would look for another option specially with small children, probably best to do Airbnb We had a room with "bunk beds" which makes the room even smaller and very unsafe for small kids to fall. Breakfast is too expensive for what it is, eggs waffles, bread, drinks, etc even motel 6 has better breakfast and it's FREE. They said they have kids corner but it's all sugar nothing healthy there at all please remove it. M&Ms , chocolate and sprinklers aren't good for any kid that's not kid friendly. The hallway carpet is dark so makes it difficult to see the dirty which is good but you can see a lot of stains and they don't clean daily at all. They say they need to save the planet They are dog friendly which is nice but you need to clean the hallways daily due to pee. I witness myself dogs peeing on the carpet. This is more like a business hotel or for couples.

Difficult to recommend. Rooms had some issues: Bathroom door not lockable and not tight. Ventilation stopped for the night so air in the room became really bad. No real lobby. Worn and not cozy. Breakfast ok. Service at the desk took ages. Ok location.

It is a perfect hotel and an extraordinary place to stay if you are in the travel business. We spent one night during a business trip and had zero complaints. Breakfast is indeed fabulous, service perfect and the venue top-notch. Considering the bang for the buck value, I would first see if this place has rooms available before looking for another place to stay. Bed linen could be a bit better weigth and value - thats one single "complaint".

Very clean room and comfy bed. Well prepared and amazing choice of breakfast. Air con working, but room was a little on the warm side. Helpful and attentive staff. We were offered a free upgrade, which meant we got a mini bar, restocked daily. The free cold beer and wine was a great to come back to after a hot day of sight seeing. Despite the hotel being full due to a tech convention, it was very quiet at night. Highly recommended

I have been through several Scandic hotels, this one was one of the big ones and very high class in comparison. Very big plus for organizing vegan menu for the conference. Nice, all very well working, organized, marked, explained. For a conference absolutely perfect (from visitors point of view).

The location is good. The breakfast is great. But this is a very expensive hotel for the cervices they have. The check out at 13h is the best idea, but the air conditioning wasn't working. After all it was good, but it costs a lot of money.

I was staying there for 2 night, rooms are clean and well designed. Breakfast is perfect one. One point that I got surprised was toothbrush which wasn't in the room, even there were a shop in the ground floor of hotel to buy that from there. To be honest I didn't expect that from a 5 star Hotel. The rest was nice :)

We had a twin bed room. I will list the pros here: 1. Neat and clean rooms. 2. Good toilet along with the bath. 3. Key card access. 4. They provide one bottle of water, some little instant coffee packets and tea packets with the room. 5. Within the room, you will get an electric kettle, iron, ironing board, cloth-hangers, hair-dryer and towels. 6. Nearby public transport.

The beds were comfortable, the location quite good. The conditioner didn't work well (not enough..no possibility to change the temperature), the view from the window was at the opposite side appartments and the dining room, there was extremely dark in the room since there was no enough lights, only the small ones, no central light...The cleaning was not excellent and only by purpose..the elevators waiting was too long.

Decent hotel for business trip. Queue was long for check-in, maybe considering online check-in option for the future? Cleaning of the rooms were ok, but some stains here and there. Breakfast was amazing, and the allergies were noted in a good manner. The location of the hotel was very good, within the walking distance from the landmarks of the city of Berlin.

Lovely hotel, conveniently located for most tourist attractions, but away from the main drag. Two tube stations nearby increase your reach easily. Rooms are v nice and staff are very friendly and helpful.

Good hotel, I like that it's very diverse in the kind of guests that lodge there. It's also wheel chair friendly. I noticed this because my room was designed for people with disabilities though I am not. The gym was small though functional. And they have a one person sort of sauna-ideal for lazy Sundays afternoons. Downside is...housekeeping was on request.

Decent size family room with bunk beds for the kids. The king size bed was very comfy. Nice, clean bathroom and decent view from the window facing the Science Museum. The underground hotel car parking was conveniently located, €22 for 24h. However street parking is also available outside the hotel and is free, Saturdays 22:00 to 09:00 on Mondays.

The location is key for this hotel, and you can find good offers for this hotel if you're a member of the Scandic Club. The room I've got could've been cleaner (hair from previous guests in the shower, dirty floor, dust on the desk, etc), and the AC is non existent even when you set it up on the TV and with the display on the wall. Mine was set to 21ºc, but the display was showing 25ºc instead and it was quite warm in the room.

Nice hotel. Well run and very pleasant staff. Rooms are more than ample and have plenty towels and seating etc. Gym available to use FREE. I spent 30 mins in the gum, well aired with big windows. The bar is table service and the selection is decent. The staff happy to go the extra mile to give you a comfortable stay.

Very good Bar personnel, gave off a truly open and friendly vibe. The front desk had our reservations in no time, open and friendly, taking time to describe everything, and even though there was a large conference in the hotel, we hardly noticed it.

Booked a room for 4 nights but couldn’t be admitted because we are from Denmark. We booked our room through Booking.com but still the receptionists won’t let us in just because we came from Denmark even though we have all the requirements of entering the country. Vaccination, antigen test result within 48 hours and German registration form. Just a reminder for Danish citizens not to book this hotel in this pandemic because the reception are not totally qualified or informed about the situation. All other hotels in the area. We were discouraged because we were going to check in late at midnight and we came almost 1 in the morning and gets rejected. So good luck and happy new year

Had a really nice stay! Very pleasant staff, especially Tim (I think it was in the reception). Located near Potzdam platz with lots of parking on the street outside (Scandic also offer a parking garage). Walking distance to most sights in Berlin centre. Nice big rooms and a good breakfast buffet and at a reasonable price. Highly recommended.

Scandic hotels are usually top notch, and this one at Potsdamer Platz is no exception. The service is good, the rooms are always nice, tidy and stylish. The breakfast is very nice and most, if not all, the different food is marked with what it contains if you have any allergies. The bar is also very cosy and serves perhaps one of the best gin&tonics I've had in a long while.

Thank you for such a great overnight stay. Wee found the staff very friendly and helpful, and more than accommodating. And the idea of a shower room after the marathon, genius! Thank you for letting us know about it. Breakfast looked fantastic, was just sorry that I couldn't take full advantage as I was going to be running later!😀 But the scrambled eggs and sausage definitely got me through the first 10km!!

We had a lovely weekend in Berlin. The hotel is about 6min walk from Potsdamer Platz bahnhof. About 15min walk from Checkpoint Charlie and Brandenburg Gate(not the same direction obviously). Super nice breakfast with plenty to choose from. We had a room with a terrace. They serve food and drinks in the evening in the bar on 3rd floor. Had a veggie burger which was rather nice.

Great place for a stay. Everything was clean. The room that we paid 80 Euro for, was spacious and thought through. Very close to Potsdamer Platz too. Train station within 50 meters. Overall, great vibe; Great value. Will probably stay next time too.

I have stayed at the Scandic hotel twice. Pros: - great prices - this is the reason to stay here. Very high quality for the price. Same for the breakfast buffet. - super close to a really nice Ubahn station - it has just one line but if it was raining you could just do a changeover - close to another two big stations (Potsdamer Platz and Gleisdreieck) to navigate pretty much everywhere Cons: - the bed, oh heavens the bed is super uncomfortable. It feels like a yoga mat on top of a couch. I took a photo. It isn't attached to the base and slips off and I almost fell off the bed each night of my stay. So if you're sharing a room with someone where you'd like separate beds, just be aware that you will miss out on a bunch of sleep. - the environmentally conscious climate control means that nights are really hot. - while it is central, it's not close to many great restaurants or sights. If you're a foodie, you'll have to take a bus or train to get to an area that has.

The hotel is nice and clean, in a good location - close to various transportation modes, the staff was kind and super helpful. I really enjoyed my stay there and would definitely stay again.

I had very terrible experience in this hotel. I have bipolar disorder. But it can't be their excuse what I felt in the hotel. My room was changed once, since I need to move my stuffs I need a time. When I stayed in the changed room, suddenly the hoteliers (woman&man) came and show I need to pay money for the last room and they show how dirty it was. Maybe they have another definition of privacy. All my stuff was taken in the photo. I was embarrassing. Not to make trouble I just paid. I never pay for the cleaning in every hotel that I have been. Because hotel fare include cleaning. The second thing is I went out for the other trip and when I came back, they charged me second "cleaning" fee. I asked cleaning but it should be under 50euro but they charged me more than 200euro. If you are willing to take the risk of no privacy, no respect, irresponsible "cleaning" fee. You may choose. If you choose this hotel with the fancy looks. That is all.

This was a very enjoyable hotel to stay at. The staff were very helpful before and during the stay. With COVID restrictions/rules changing often, they were helpful with ensuring we could meet the requirements with testing. They room was clean and well outfitted. This hotel is close to activities and most of the main things you would want to see in Berlin.

Hospitality was inexistant from the start, staff at check-in (all 4 to 5 people I have interacted with) were slow, unhelpful and extremely rude, same at check-out. The same experience at breakfast welcome and kitchen staff. Coffee was bad too.

A lovely hotel. Clean and tidy. Did not open the restaurant in the evening, but did have a good selection of food for breakfast. Room cleaning was not given unless I reported things with reception. The bar was supposed to be on the 3rd floor, but was not in use. They opened a bar on the ground floor, which was good but the toilets were still situated on the 3rd floor. Overall though a very pleasant stay.

The rooms are cozy, big enough and well equipped; the breakfast is awesome, basically there is everything that you can think of, also for people with doing a diet. The gym and the sauna is relatively small but not really crowded, so you can use it.

Nice Scandic hotel and lady at reception was very nice and friendly. Modern hotel with good location. Restaurant wasn't open and I was disappointed 'cause, after cool day out, sauna was closed too early (21.20 o'clock). Breakfast was good and rich.

Hotel is well maintained but the rooms can be warm. The temperature control is on the TV menu! One pain is the lifts - the toilets are on third floor. We had 2.5 days of meetings on the ground floor so this was annoying.

I am really not a fan of business saying "we do this for the price" when it just feels like they do it for saving money and generate higher earnings only. Cleaning only on request ? Really?! Food delivery: come pick it up yourself! (And them calling me to come to the reception wasn't a nice encounter either) Difference between one and the other room: filled Minibar , yay, that's a 39 bucks extra... And the friendliness of the staff really didn't make up for all of that at all. The only really good thing for me was the location. But other then that, I would only choose this place again if I really had to. Call me old-school but I appreciate hotels that actually have service...

Right next to U2 station, so you can access everything from here. The room was large, the bed not too hard or soft, there wasnt anything I wished different. The breakfast was good, though at peak times I had to wait for a free table.

Interesting hotel in berlin. A lot about sustainability. The bedroom was functional, very clean looking but not really special. The bathroom was great, in particular the shower with the different positions. Not sure about the sliding door which is attractive but does not give enough privacy. The breakfast is great with a large but not too large selection and a lot of quality products. The gym was a bit of a letdown with a system of reserving the space with does not work very well and every time I had to wait for the room. Also a shame that the restaurant and the bar were closed apparently due to Covid restrictions It was a great location for us as it was closed to the berlinale film festival. Would go back after the Covid restrictions are gone

Basic hotel, definitely not worth the money. More a three star hotel, offering very basic amenities. Nice breakfast. Mediocre rooms and meeting spaces. Very basic lobby and bar.

  • 5/5 Adam S. 1 year ago on Google
Nice place, well located, friendly hotel staff, always with smile. Only elevators can be a little bit easier - I mean, there are 6 of them, there can be some sign, which one you "called" with signing button. Nevertheless, still a 5 stars, the staff amazed me.

Worst hotel experience I've ever had so far. First standing in cue for a long time before I could check-in with 4 counters open and there were hardly any people there. Then the hotel staff refused to issue me with a hotel bill, let alone a payment receipt, even after repeated requests. One reason given was supposedly that I had booked through an external agency, but the payment was made at the hotel and everyone knows that you have to issue a receipt. I am more than disappointed and would never check in here again.
