The
Hotel
Adlon
Kempinski
in
Berlin
has
long
been
synonymous
with
luxury
and
prestige,
and
my
recent
spontaneous
stay
had
moments
that
lived
up
to
this
reputation.
Upon
check-in,
my
loyalty
status
was
acknowledged
and
I
was
pleasantly
upgraded
to
a
larger
room.
The
staff
displayed
professionalism,
especially
in
the
spa
and
pool
area,
where
service
was
both
courteous
and
prompt.
However,
the
stay
wasn’t
without
its
disappointments.
While
I
appreciate
a
room
with
traditional
styling,
the
one
I
was
placed
in
felt
outdated,
showing
visible
wear
and
tear.
This
was
most
evident
in
the
malfunctioning
light
controls.
Additionally,
my
preference
for
a
higher
floor
wasn’t
accommodated,
although
I
understand
the
room
choice
might
have
been
limited
due
to
the
last-minute
nature
of
my
booking.
The
service
quality
varied
widely:
At
times,
it
was
exemplary,
but
there
were
instances
where
it
seemed
non-existent.
This
inconsistency
is
not
something
one
would
expect
from
a
hotel
of
this
calibre.
In
conclusion,
the
Adlon
still
has
the
allure
and
the
staff
to
offer
a
remarkable
experience,
but
the
wear
and
tear
of
the
rooms
and
inconsistent
service
are
areas
that
need
urgent
attention.
Based
on
these
observations,
I
would
rate
my
experience
as
3
out
of
5
stars.
There
are
certainly
better
options
at
this
price
point
in
Berlin,
especially
if
a
well-maintained
interior
is
a
priority
for
you.
