Poor Service,Lack of Professionalism My breakfast experience here on July 2 was nothing short of dreadful, all thanks to a particularly dismissive male waiter. As the only Asian customer that morning, I couldn't help but wonder if this establishment practices differential treatment. Despite multiple attempts to get his attention, he blatantly IGNORED my simple request for a cup of coffee. It was abundantly clear that he saw me waving my hand several times, but he seemed to be more interested in avoiding me than serving customers. I must say, such disrespectful behavior is utterly unacceptable in a hospitality establishment. If you can't ensure fair treatment for all customers, it's time to rethink your hospitality values.

Absolutely horrible experience. Late night parties in the bar/lobby make your body shake in bed due to the extreme loud basses. If you love a good night sleep, this is not the hotel for you. Sad, cause the rooms are beautiful and the staff is friendly.

We have been at this hotel for 2 nights out of 5 night booking. Both nights the hotel restaurant and rooftop blocked for corporate events. It’s 11:38pm and the ceiling is literally bouncing from the party on the rooftop. Phoned the front desk and they basically said, not our problem. Do not stay here if you are expecting a boutique hotel experience. This is a Sheraton with a night club.

Nice hotel in a great spot. Dealing with the bouncer at the entrance to the bar might be not so convenient and not something you would expect in the hotel, but it is a nice place overall

Aesthetically beautiful hotel. Restaurant and bar service is terrible and extremely overpriced. We were playing a festival in Berlin, had four rooms for two nights at a high rate and were refused entry into the bar due to a mysterious dress code that neither the bouncers refusing us, or the reception staff the following morning, could actually define for us. The night we were refused entry into the bar, a Friday night, we were able to 'enjoy' the music from the bar travelling through the building into our rooms until the small hours, horrible! Check in experience was very slow and frustrating, even though we had sent all required information in advance. This could be such an excellent hotel but with service, and prices, like this we would never stay there again.

An aesthetically wonderful hotel, with awful service. Bar service is disinterested and slow, room service options are non existent. On the plus side, it's a gorgeous hotel with beautiful and bespoke rooms. There is a mismatch between the beauty and quality of the hotel physically, and the terrible service and narrow service offerings.

Well now this is an upscale fancy hotel for when you’d like to splurge a little bit on your honeymoon or a business trip. You’ll feel like royalty here.

Sadly the other negative reviews about this place are correct. It’s more of a party place than hotel and for anyone looking for a peaceful night’s rest, this hotel is not for you. 2 nights spent in a room where pounding bass, music and chatter was happening past 12 am during week nights. After complaining multiple times I was moved to another room but changing rooms and thus, moving to another floor in the middle of the night only made this whole experience slightly better. When telling reception about this the next day the only apology they give is “we can make a note for next time that you prefer a quiet room” - as if someone would come back haha. The whole thing plus the fact that this happens very regularly gives a feeling of arrogance and disrespect from the hotel’s side.

While the lobby is extremely well-decorated and the location is central, a few things let us down compared to our stay at a similarly priced hotel nearby. The first and biggest problem is the noise at night on the weekends. Contrary to expectations I heard no street noise, but instead was kept up until 3 am from the pounding bass of the hotel bar. And our room was on the third floor! We also heard a fair amount of hallway noise from children running around. In addition, we found that the service was totally adequate but not nearly as attentive or accommodating at our first hotel, where the bellman got our luggage out of the cab when we arrived and took it up to our room directly, and where we were offered water every time we left the building. At Hotel Zoo you are mostly ignored, except by the amusingly tasteless elevator (wait until you see it!) Our room was large and clean, and the bathroom was great. Outlets on both sides of the bed. No luggage rack which was strange, but not a problem. I wish the lighting was better, but that is a problem with many hotels.

Amazing hotel. It is expensive but the service, the location, the food and rooms make the price to pay it. I have been in different moments here a couple of years ago due to work and I recommend it. Breakfast is WOW. The variety of bakery, fruit and bread I have tasted is unbelievable. Room service was also really good. I recommend the salmon with fries. Lovely. I will return for sure

Awful experience at the bar! Waiter Steven was very rude to my wife with no reason. After we came to the administrator he said “I don’t know the exact situation” and refused to talk and solve the issue. Very unprofessional and not recommended please.

We loved this hotel and it was a great base for a short visit to Berlin. The decor was stylish but also witty. The breakfast was phenomenal - great choice with something to please everyone and the most meltingly delicious omelette I have ever had. Not cheap but highly recommended. Only slight warning is that the picture on our bedroom wall was perhaps a little riské if you have children!

Room is comfortable enough, but hotel is in a very busy and generic location. Good for shoppers, but not if you want to experience best parts of Berlin because all the fun neighbourhoods are far away. Roof bar ridiculously overpriced. Reception staff unfriendly and argumentative, but restaurant staff very kind. Decor is quite tacky, but some may enjoy this.

Thr atmosphere of he entire hotel was amazing. So much detail and attention obviously went in to every part of this hotel. The bar was beautiful and the drink options were fun and delicious. Hotel breakfast had many vegan options, tasted fresh, wonderful teas to try. The rooms had enough of everything and the Minibar was stocked to the brim. Lots of places to shop in the area. Lounge chairs in the lounge so comfortable, they'll put you to sleep. Wonderful books and art. Was on business and could not resist the leisure this hotel offered. Fantastic.

Stylish boutique hotel just off the Ku'dam. Comfy, clean room. Bar and restaurant clearly the place to be, reservation only on Friday and Saturday night. Music from the bar was quite loud elsewhere in the hotel so not one of you're a light sleeper.

Great location and the room was beautiful. The staff were all warm and welcoming, including Grit (reservations) and the ladies at the front desk whose names I did not catch. I noticed they gave us a complimentary room upgrade—unannounced—which was appreciated. I would stay here again! One note: there are currently renovations to the Hugo Boss next door, which are out of the hotel’s control, however the works do start quite early and can be heard from the second floor rooms. It was not a problem for my partner and I.

I was initially pleasantly surprised with the rooms and the decor, however I have to highlight that the service was abysmal. There was a party of some kind being thrown at the hotel lobby on a Thursday evening/night. I was not warned of this at any point in time during my stay, not even during my check in a day prior when everything was already clearly set up for said party. The music could be heard AND felt from my room in the 4th floor that had a window to their ‘winter garden.’ I called the reception at midnight to inquire when the party would end and I was told the winter garden would ‘close’ at midnight and that the party would end at 1AM. No apologies for the inconvenience, no offer of compensation. The fact that the party was planned to end at 1 AM and midnight is already clearly in violation of german noise disturbance laws, as noise disturbance is only aloud until 10 PM during business days. I would have greatly appreciate some token for my troubles, even if it would have only been complimentary earplugs. For the record, the party did NOT end at 1AM as promised… A compensatory hotel breakfast would have been an adequate and elegant solution to this. I would expect this lack of respect from hostels/ b&bs at which I have actually been treated with way more care and respect than this expensive, 5 star establishment. It appalls me that the price of an overnight stay here did not match the actual service and amenities in this regard at all. I was planning to make this my base hotel for business in Berlin but I will not be returning. Shame, as I was actually pretty satisfied with everything until that point…

Hotel is well located with a cool bar and good restaurant. The rooms are appointed to a reasonable standard for a five star hotel although nothing to write home about. The real turn off is the service. Many (not all) staff at reception and the entry of the bar were rude (I was accused of lying when I complained about the noise in the neighbouring room which was having a party and on another occasion was shouted at for going to the bar area without asking for permission from the 'bouncer'), entitled, unhelpful and had no notion that they are supposed to be serving their customers. This is just not acceptable for a so called five star hotel. It's a shame that the hotel is so poorly managed as it has a lot going for it. My colleague has suffered from similar issues, and we will not be going there again. Also, avoid courtyard facing rooms where the bar is located if you want a quiet night sleep.

Very cool trendy hotel! Nice, comfortable bed, soft pillows, warm, shower, good coffee, and free Wi-Fi that was quite solid!

Location and theme of the hotel are amazing. The bath had some problems but the technician fixes it very fast so thats nice. The biggest negative for me was the partys in the bar at night… very loud musik till 3 in the morning… and getting woken up from drunk guessts at the break of dawn wasnt fun. For a 5 star hotel… a bit dissapointing

An impressive hotel! Unfortunately, I had my stay during the Corona pandemic and could not enjoy all the rooms or the much praised breakfast. The room (Panorama Suite) was very nice and also tempts you to stay for several days. Ideal location and good parking, which is not self-evident on the Ku'damm. You are quickly on the highway and do not have to drive through the city for ages. At least if you come from HH. Impressive house and very friendly staff.

We came here for the first time and for sure we will come back. Astonishing decoration with nice music in the lobby. Mrs. Aleksandra from reception server us and I would like to sincerely greet her, she helped us with everything we would like to know. In the hotel you will also find a very nice restaurant with a night bar called Grace where after a dinner starts a little party. Very nice breakfast included in the price. We will definitely recommend this place !

We found Hotel Zoo to be a very good place to stay. There are a number of complaints online regarding noise, but we honestly did not hear anything that could be worthy of complaining, our unit was very quiet. As for the posh scene, yes! But honestly that is part of the experience and attraction. Regarding staff, honestly the service was excellent. Staff went above in some cases, for example we asked for a bucket of ice to chill an injury and they came back with not only with a bucket but also a vacuum sealed ice pouch. Location is very convenient. Rooms are tidy, the bed is comfy… would give 5 stars if it there was more space.

The hotel was very neat and clean. Room service perfect! However, the service at the reception a bit pompous, we reported a broken shower in our room twice, no one was called to fix the fault despite being told otherwise.

Fantastic hotel, stunning bar although excessively expensive at 14 Euros for a house white wine. The whole design and attention to detail within the hotel is beautiful.

I come to Berlin every year for a week and there’s nowhere I’d rather stay than Hotel Zoo Berlin. The receptionists are so helpful, the rooms are amazing, housekeeping staff is super clean and friendly and the location is in the middle of Ku’daam which is within walking distance from the shopping malls and several restaurants (different cuisines). Will definitely be coming back :)

Rooms are great. Good breakfast, it would have been 5 stars if they would get rid of really annoying and intimidating security guys inside the lobby. They are absolutely not needed and create unpleseant feeling when accessing the rooms from the elevator.

Very small room ( esp. bathroom ) with not nice view under the level od terrace ( as I stayed here for 1 week I expected something else ). Saturday breakfast starts at 8 instead od what is written on the card -7:30 ( with no appologies ). Really dissapointing.

Very bad customer service. Booked through expedia months ago. However, I have become ill in the meantime, so I have to go to the hospital the week before my stay in this hotel. Trying to cancel more than 3 weeks in advance, but despite Expedia trying to help me three times, the hotel refuses to refund. Think carefully before booking here. inhuman !

Great ambiance and very friendly staff, the bar feels like a very posh living room but also a very cool bar. The cocktails are expensive but worth the money. Haven't tried the restaurant yet although it seem pretty good.

Zoo Hotel Berlin is a lavish and extravagant hotel in the heart of the Western part of Berlin's shopping and entertainment district. Close enough to the gay hub in Berlin, the Zoo hotel is detailed in somewhat over-the-top but tasteful decor, modern, with lovely high ceilings and quality rooms. Large comfortable beds, heated floors, lovely showers and bathtubs and quality room service contributed to the high standard. The black-out curtains were beneficial during our stay. The team there welcomed us warmly and made our stay very comfortable. Pro-tip, if you are not a party person, ask to stay in a room that's not to close to the bar as on a Saturday night, the music below might not be to everyone's liking. We are looking forward to returning one day soon to stay at the Hotel Zoo Berlin.

The hotel is beautiful. Service is good and rooms are impeccably clean and decorated. Breakfast is amazing and the bar makes great cocktails. BUT. If you're looking for a place to rest, then go somewhere else. Rooms are ridiculously noisy. The bar on the ground floor turns into a club with loud music until late at night. We had to use earplugs to sleep (which they provide, so they seem to be aware of the problem). Also, they let in a billion people at the same time, so the crowd makes it impossible to get a drink if you're a hotel customer, which is annoying. So 5* setting but really not 5* experience sadly.

  • 4/5 wesley c. 2 years ago on Google
The decor everywhere was very chic, very much W hotel meets ‘upscale boutique hotel’. Our particular room (superior panorama) was spacious and plenty comfortable. The blackout curtains were fantastic. My only quibbles were the pillows were extremely soft, like having to stack at least three to get enough support and I would’ve like larger/softer towels. The other thing was finding out later that the Grace restaurant in the hotel was completely independently run. The first night, we found out about the new 2G rules, so we weren’t allowed in. (The room service was delicious, albeit limited in selection). The second night we tried again (after getting the CovPass and Luca app) and after waiting 40 minutes in the bar, we notified the restaurant was fully booked, even considering we’re hotel guests. The front desk also confirmed the next night was booked and this seemed annoying that the hotel restaurant was basically off limits for dinner to hotel guests unless reservations were made in advance. That said, the breakfast buffet had lots of options and was delicious.

Extremely awful experience in the bar. Bartender Stiven was very rude, I’m so disappointed that i brought your guests to your bar and i will never advise your hotel, just because the management doesn’t solve problems.. sad and disappointed

The lobby and bar is nice however the rooms are very basic and rather small. The hair conditioner bottle was filled with the soap. The breakfast is poor considering the cost and they serve the smalles eggs benedict I have seen. There is no pool or sauna.

If you’re planning a trip to Berlin, I highly recommend staying at this beautiful hotel. From the entrance, to the lobby/bar area - it is truly something wonderful. Great location, really nice rooms and the beds are super comfortable :) a special thanks to Mr Jonas Rücker for always going above and beyond in ensuring I have a great stay.
