Made a last minute booking but happy I chose the michelberger. Location is great, I was worried about the noise but had a room on the inner court side - all good. The room had everything needed, was clean and comfortable. The shower is excellent, the bed relaxed and fine. I had a bit of privacy concerns because the blinds aren’t closing well - it also didn’t completely blind out the light. Breakfast (24€ p.p.) is a bit overpriced, even though the produce is high quality and good taste. The filter coffee served was excellent. Staff in general is friendly and service minded - I felt welcome although welcomed in English, not German. I’ll come back some day to enjoy the bar and cafe, was a bit too busy for my liking to relax at.

We had the most amazing stay here! Honestly an absolute 10/10 experience from the room, staff, vibe, location and quality of food. Everything was clean, comfortable and super cool. I can’t recommend this place enough, I would 100% stay here again and made our trip so much more enjoyable.

The hotel itself is beautiful and rich in atmosphere, and is also placed right next to a train station! Most of the staff is very direct and spends no time trying to come across as friendly. You apparently have to pay a €50 deposit + city tax for each night, i recommend this hotel, but be aware of the disposit and tax if you’re a student travelling. The breakfast is excellent, with a lot of vegan options! (which surprised me). They have a lot of options when it comes to food so i recommend the breakfast!!

Second time staying here and it’s only getting better since our first stay in 2015. Love the atmosphere and vibe, and the quirky details - from the copy on their no smoking signs to how the rooms are decorated. Staff is super nice and welcoming. Cocktails and coffee superb. Location perfect. Can’t find a single thing that disappoints here and will probably never stay anywhere else when in Berlin.

Homemade warehouse feeling in an effort to be cool, but the rooms are incredibly hot when it is warm outside and can only be cooled with windows open to a very noisy street or courtyard with loud music. Good if you want to feel like you are clubbing and trying to sleep at the same time. And same price (or higher) than other hotels.

Boutique hôtel located in a very lively area, with loft style appartements/rooms, a very "chill" lobby, I loved staying at the Michelberger Hotel. The staff is really fantastic, friendly and helpful. They also serve some truly great cocktails. Very easy to access from the Brandenburg Airport with the S9 (station just watched in front of the hotel).

This hotel is very close to perfection! Amazing tastes, vibes, comfort. The rooms (at least the basic ones) are small but very functional. Staff is super pro and friendly at the same time. The breakfast is AMAZING 😍, do not miss it. I have no idea how they manage to serve such excellent products in a large variety of options (80% vegan I would say. Delicious, even though I'm not vegan) for this price. Even the coffee is super fancy: 2 kinds including a bourbon. Just one thing: there is a TV but you can only watch a couple of music stations that turn in short loops. I didn't bring my fire stick and regretted it. I was on a business trip and needed to check the news. Please front desk, can you provide an option of Chromecast to rent for those lonely travelers like me ahaha ? Thanks again for the amazing stay.

Designed boutique-style hotel with above-average breakfast and restaurant serving produce partly from its own farm. The place in general is good on the senses and a nice break from standardized business hotels. It is also lively, in a good way.

We loved our 2-night stay at Michelberger Hotel, and will definitely be back soon! The location is great: you can get to any major spots in the city within 15-20 minutes. (The hotel is less than 5 minutes walk from 'Warchauer Straße' station, with several U-Bahn and S-Bahn stops. Tram stops right in front of the hotel, Bus 300 which goes right to downtown 'mitte' stopping at each key landmark, is also a very short walk away. The 'East Side' neighborhood is very cool, has a great vibe, and you can do nice walks by the river and admire the great artwork on the very long stretch of the preserved WALL. The hotel staff is fabulous: everyone we encountered (reception, bar, housekeeping crew) were super friendly and helpful, loved that they have a truly international crew! The rooms: we booked the 'cosy room' which was indeed tiny, but we knew in advance that it would be, and felt it was a fair value for money. It was super clean, the bed was comfortable, and they made the absolute best they could with the small space. Its perfect for a solo traveler, but was also fine for us as a couple - as long as you are OK with being really cozy :) I can definitely recommend it, if you are on a budget - but the hotel also offers rooms of all sizes, so one can find exactly what they are looking for. Atmosphere: the lobby/lounge area is simply fantastic, someone usually plays the piano, it's always buzzing with people. The adjacent bar/caffee space is very cute, and our favorite was the inner, open-air 'courtyard' with lots of tables and chairs to chill with a drink after a long day of exploring Berlin. Will be staying here again for sure on our next visit as well!

Love this place! This hotel is made with so much consciousness, very friendly staff, amazing interior and design with books, nice created chill areas to have a drink, socialize, read, small details in the rooms, lovely soap products, good location, such a long never ending list… I really love that they also organise some activities like meditation. Thank you so much, it has been a wonderful experience and I would recommend everyone to go here!! Oh and last but not least, I love the coconut water you’re selling 😂🙈

We visited the bar , and I have to say the vibes there are amazing, so calming, so cozy , with really nice decor and good quality liquors (not all of them) , didn’t like the coffe though.

What is the perfect hotel for you? For me, its a room I really never want to leave, breakfast I'd gladly and healthily eat every day til I can be composted, and service that's just a bunch of people happy to be jn a place where they calmly help other people. Add in great bikes to rent, a lounge with table service, deliciously comfortable lounges, a wonderful selection of food and drinks, great service and you have my perfect hotel. Over the bridge to kreuzberg or onto the U or S over the road. If you cant be happy here, then I suggest a long stare in a big mirror

Such a great hotel. Felt very welcome, loved the atmosphere and the style of the rooms and how much thought went into creating this beautiful space. At night sometimes a bit loud from nearby clubs.

  • 1/5 M W. 6 months ago on Google
rooms are brutally hot in summer, no air conditioning. Street and train tracks right outside the window, very noisy. At night people drive up and down the street with shopping carts full of glass bottles. The staff tries very hard to simulate a cosmopolitan impression.

Great hotel and also a perfect spot to relax with a glass of wine or have a drink in the evening. The restaurant is amazing and the breakfast buffet is no exception. The only minus is the coffee, typical German and a bit weak for my Swedish taste buds.

A "Hipness Hell"! The staff is super nice but unfortunately not very competent. In the bar, in the bistro, at the reception... everywhere the same. Exception: the cleaning ladies. Excellent! Breakfast is not nearly as good as described. The storytelling sucks (e.g. literally everything is vegan). The walls of the rooms are very noisy (loud TV from one of the neighbouring rooms; loud door slamming at night). The breakfast room has the charm of a railway station concourse. I guess it's "hip". The lobby is large and cosy, with lots of big sofas and cool music. A bright spot in this "hipness hell". The rooms are, well, different. But original. Many with bunk beds and chicken ladders to get upstairs. Some people might like it ... Staff and guests are very international.

The Michelberger Hotel feels like a home away from home. The rooms are lovely and well serviced and the staff are incredible. Even if I’m in town and not staying at the Michelberger I’ll still hang about in the shared lobby area here and there as it has a brilliant atmosphere for study and reading with lovely food and coffee on offer. The in-house restaurant is also absolutely superb. Big love!

Unfortunately, I did not stay here but stopped by the cafe and I am glad I did! The cauliflower soup was probably the best soup I have ever had and the cinnamon roll was amazing! One of my favorite spots in all of Germany!

Wonderful hotel, wonderful staff! Hotel is absolutely whimsical, and I had a great time during my stay. Definitely try to stay at the “Hideout” room, which includes a full size dry sauna right in the room. The hotel breakfast is fresh and incredible made from fresh produce from their farm, and the bar features delicious liquors from their own distillery. 10/10 would recommend.

A really special hotel - as other reviewers said, there is a community vibe here. We stayed in the 'cosy' room, and it is indeed cosy, but it has everything you need really. Beautiful and classy design throughout. Staff are friendly in a genuine way. As though they really appreciate and are proud of the place they are working in (as they should be!). The breakfast gets top marks for being healthy and homemade, though I think the flavours of some of the savoury warm options could do with some attention (in our case, we took the breakfast for just one night as we wanted to try other places on other days). I would very gladly stay again!

No air conditioning in the rooms means hot and sweaty summer nights. Our baby woke up multiple times a night because it was so hot. Cant open the windows because its too loud. Avoid rooms facing the street in summer. Especially on the lower floors. Fire alarms in the rooms went off three times at 5am one night waking up nearly the entire hotel. No message or compensation from management. Imagine being in deep sleep and an alarm going off 3 feet away from your face. Lastly, we booked a nearly week long stay with breakfast and had to fight to have it actually served to us without having to pay. The place was great otherwise.

Nice place. Value for money. Unfortunately there’s no air conditioning. When we were there it was over 30 degrees so might be better in winter time. The patio is lovely. Food a bit ‘too vegan’ for us but restaurant is nice for a drink.

Excellent spot in a beautifully converted old industrial factory. Very close to Kreuzberg at the edge of Friedrichshain. Lots of cafes, galleries and counter-culture vibes abound in a very vibrant area. Cool cafe/bar downstairs. Very helpful & polite staff and people in the area in general. Loved the 'Band' room and all over design of the building was excellent but the frontage with a really nice sign is really striking. Incredibly welcoming and would recommend.

Hands down the best hotel in the world. You feel the love and devotion that went into every single object in the hotel. Every thing is thought through. Thank you Michelberger for your amazing service. The world needs more organizations like you.

People keep complaining about no A/C but people this is Europe if you can’t handle it don’t go.. (they did have a great fan in the room though to compensate which was nice). We loved everything of Michelberger hotel. Great stylish rooms, common areas and delicious organic breakfast included in the price which we thought was a great deal. Everything is either vegan or organic from their farm outside of Berlin which we really appreciated. We will be back so thank you!!

The room (3rd floor ) was super cold. The heating was not working. The TV was having only 4 channels - none of them free channels. Clean but very small room. Breakfast was the same all days with not so many options - only for vegans

Phenomenal hotel and restaurant right near Warschauer Straße station. My girlfriend and I stayed here for a long vacation to Berlin and loved everything about the experience. I've traveled a lot of different places around the globe and the Michelberger Hotel is one of my favorite local hotels I've ever stayed at. They have renovated a old lighting factory and have upgraded everything to give the building and rooms a ton of individual character and charm. Their restaurant uses local produce from their farm outside Berlin and the staff is super friendly and accommodating. The breakfast buffet was the best we had in Berlin and was well worth the 22 Euro per person. Additionally they have a really cool bar, outdoor cafe / tables and lounge area to relax in. Can't recommend staying here enough.

Don't forget to use Hᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a hotel. This website will compare thousands of booking websites and usually will have rooms a lot cheaper compared to others! You're welcome :)! This place is one of the most well known in the area. I have been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you definitely won't regret it. Lovely hotel with great staff, good vibe all around and especially the courtyard is a fantastic hang out, both for guests and visitors

The third time I’ve booked a room in this hotel. It’s quite a unique place. 24/7 reruns of The Big Lebowski for instance. Nice rooms friendly staff and at a very convenient location. A good place to lounge around during the day and the evenings. The feel of a hostel without being one.

Very funky hotel. Close to everything. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Very laid back and cosy. Stayed for three nights and had a great time. Breakfast was a first German experience for us but the food was spot on 👍 Would definitely stay there again. Thanks for the welcome 💖

I have been here many times and usually it's great. This time not. Yes, the waiter apologised for the wait for the menus, but if they allocated tables to staff, the confusion as to who is looking after who could be avoided. We asked which gins were available and were told they had two. Adler and another from Scandinavia called Hiro??? It was hard to understand what he said with the mask on and I wasn't shown the bottle or told the price. The bar staff who made the drinks took a ridiculous amount of time faffing around with ice cubes, then accidentally poured the same gin in both glasses. He then strained the gin out of one glass into the sink, to save the precious ice cubes and then refilled the same glass with the other gin. Adding tonic was also a slow process. He then moved the drinks to a tray. Then a different server picked them up and brought them to us without the tray, plonked them down in front of us and walked away without saying a word. So which gin was which, we'll never know! 24€ for two gin tonics is a little steep. Hopefully, the service will be better next time, if we return.
