Good location of 2 star hotel with zero service + good location for many tourist attractions and public transport - staff promises and does not keep: no preparation of sofa bed for midnight arrival, no quiet room as requested and promised, no search for lost luggage in their luggage room, no message for day staff, even a piece of tape they handed out reluctantly … - staff incredibly unfriendly - rooms are big but feel cheap. Toilet and bathroom are plastic boxes - no ‘suites’: kitchen has a microwave and fridge but no silverware or dishes - cleaning is not particularly well done, for sure not tea cups The same street also has cheaper hotels. For this level of service I will stay there next time.

This hotel is very comfy and quiet which I prefer. Very central location for us to move around and use public transport. Most of things around you for a walking distance if you like to walk. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable so as bath & toilets. Very clean and tidy. Free wifi is extra thing to enjoy if you having prob with your network at mobile. Very reasonable prices with breakfast as we stayed for 5 nights. I like one of bar tender slim & tall who was friendly and ready to help if you need. All I didn’t like is breakfast all days same and not much variety to eat. Not like I stayed in Munich where everyday different stuff and plenty of choices. BUT still I recommend this hotel because it’s well worth to stay according to price value.

Not worth the money I paid for 4 nights. Cleanliness, professionalism of the staff. We were given a room with a toilet designed for the physically challenged. No disrespect to them but staying with a two year old the toilet was not suitable. The staff were kind enough to quickly change the room. One of the staff broke a glass jar in front of the lift and didn't bother to clean all the broken glass pieces even after a couple of hours. We had to report/remind them. The staff in general were inexperienced and did not care enough to check/book a taxi with the right type of child car seats. Cleanliness of the room was not acceptable. We stayed for 4 nights and despite having the cleaning staff clean the room we noticed it wasn't done properly. The breakfast was ok, just ok.

The hotel is great and so are the rooms. Staff is great too! However, the WiFi is open and if you are a digital nomad like me, you won’t be able to work safely. Its an unsecured network. So if you don’t have to work on your laptop, it’s a great place for the value. The breakfast is great but overpriced. They charge you what you would pay for a 4-star hotel. Overall, I still recommend this hotel!

The hotel is nicely located in a quiet neighborhood in central Berlin. The hotel is directly by Anhalter S-Bahn and all the major sightseeing areas in Berlin can be accessible even on foot. It is a 3* hotel and offers a decent 3* experience. The room was clean and comfortable, the bed, mattress and pillows were good, the room was dark enough during the night and quiet. We had a good nights sleep. The staff was polite although can try and be a bit more smiley. The breakfast is too basic and can be better (more variety, better quality). We also noticed that the hotel is family friendly so expect kids around especially during breakfast.

Three stars for a three star hotel. The suites are big and sufficient for a family with 2 kids. Views from 7th floor are nice, you can see the Berlin TV tower, if you look towards right from the balcony facing street. The mattress was soft, but that's the only mattress type Hotel had, so didn't get any help there. Two challenges however. 1. The parking I front of the hotel is free, if you can find a parking spot outside the " No parking " zone. The hotel reception staff was purposefully not helpful to share this knowledge however kept on insisting on using the paid parking of the hotel at 17 EURs/ day. 2. The house cleaning was not good. No vacuum, replaced less number of towels, did not fill up the shower soap container. Lost job I must say. Overall a good place to stay, if you are staying for 7 nights. Even better if it is a shorter stay.

Great location, close to trains and busses. Lovely hotel but very busy. Our room was a family room which had 2 double beds, a fridge, a sink separate toilets and shower. A sheer curtain separates the two beds for a bit of privacy. friendly staff who were very helpful. view from our room was of the old train station, a historical landmark

Excellent location. There is also a Lidl around the corner, and open takeaway shops. Walking distance to shopping malls, museums, Brandenburg Gate and Berlin Wall, Only downside is two double bed but only two chairs. Toilets and bathroom were spotless. Recommended.

Great hotel, close to the inner city but since we went there for a concert it was a one minute walk from the concert so that was perfect. Mall in walking distance, lots of food options right around the corner. Friendly staff and nice rooms.

Very friendly service! The rooms are large and the views are nice! Visited in the winter, and although outdoors it was cold, in the room it was very cozy and warm. Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a hotel in the area with affordable pricing!

Very nice localization (15-20 minutes by walk to Check Point Charly). Room is big what is nice. However, this is a Novotel Suites hotel so I expected at least coffee machine in the room. Unfortunately, there is only cattle and instant coffee. There was one battle o water in the fridge and "no refilling" :(.Breakfast is OK, bu every day is EXACTLY THE SAME! First day I claimed that there is a problem with water not through out in the bathroom faucet, but...nothing change till the end

Our experience at Novotel Berlin City Potsdamer Platz was delightful. The staff exhibited professionalism and a commendable knowledge of the city. Our spacious room, designed for 2 adults and 2 children, featuring a separate WC and shower, added to the comfort of our stay. Located in the heart of the city, the hotel provided convenient access to all amenities. The breakfast was a highlight, offering a variety of options suitable for both adults and children. Additionally, the presence of an underground car park enhanced the overall convenience of our stay.

The Room was spacious, well appointed and immaculately cleaned. Our host who checked us in upon arrival was welcoming, good-humoured and friendly (even greeting us on the street outside of work hours when we bumped into him) and couldn't have been more helpful (which was great for first-time visitors to Berlin, especially when we needed to navigate protests and strike actions. He was excellent with my young daughter and gave her various colouring in books and play items which have really served us well! If Accord has employee awards, I put this Gentleman forward 100% as an ideal steward for customer relations. All staff were really quite exceptional. Breakfast staff were gracious and efficient. Overall, Location was good, rooms were very good, breakfast was great value, the staff were excellent.

Rooms were modern and very nice. However, housekeeping did not swap out towels or bedsheets during the whole stay. After they didnt do it once, we wrote it down and requested it again, but they once again, did not change them. Elevators were very slow, gym was barely usable. But its better than nothing. Area was nice and very central.

We have stayed several times over the years. I saw a decline in 2022 but this year was dreadful. I don’t know how you’re hiring your staff now but I couldn’t tell who was staff and who was a customer. They were just milling about, outside chatting, in no way obvious who they were unless they were at a desk checking someone in. Previously they’d store our bags prior to check in in a locked room with a ticket. No more. They are just shoved behind the old reception desk and left unattended and in full public view. When we came to claim them we were just asked to point to which one was ours, we could have taken any bags! We were not greeted with any sort of welcome. Everything seemed an inconvenience. We were told our room was ready…it wasn’t. I had to go back down 7 flights of stairs (quicker than waiting for the 1 lift) to let them know. They said it would be done asap. It took hours. We were exhausted after travelling through the night and my daughter had no bed to sleep on. After the 5 hour wait I had to ask for extra pillows. I was told I could only have two and she absolutely refused to give me three. She said she’d get them (under duress), she didn’t, I had to go downstairs again and get them. I was told I could have as many as I liked. We went to shower - our shower hose wasn’t even attached to the shower. We turned the lamp on and smoke started billowing out of the top! I asked to move rooms and was moved from a city view (which I requested, booked and paid for) to a room overlooking a busy car park, which local casino employees were using to set off fireworks. The sheets weren’t changed once in 6 nights. The bathroom wasn’t topped up once. The kitchen wasn’t cleaned or topped up once. Occasionally our bed was as made. The one working lift (the second lift broke on our last visit in July 2022 and was still out of order) broke on NYE meaning everyone had to use the stairs. I had seen various older guests and parents with pushchairs and pull along luggage trucks so goodness knows how they managed. They didn’t even put an out of order sign on the door. We just all stood and waited until one of the people working there stuck her head around the wall and said we’d need to take the stairs. On the 6 other visits prior to this we were greeted by friendly, helpful staff who were always a pleasure to deal with. The rooms were lovely and clean, our beds were changed daily, kitchen and bathroom cleaned and restocked. It’s so sad to see such a wonderful hotel decline so rapidly. As an Accor member and pay on average over £100 a night we no longer feel we are getting what we pay for. This used to be a top quality hotel and is now akin to a hostel. Unfortunately on our next visit we will be looking elsewhere.

Classed as a apartment .Kettle and microwave and fridge there but no cutlery ,plates etc . We had to go and buy them . First night kettle blew the electric in our room .Staff came and took kettle out saying it would be replaced the following morning but never was . Again told staff on 2 occasions tge safe wasn't working. Battery low .Never sorted it we had to carry our valuables around with us . The apartment was at the side .Very noisey with underground garage being used and deliveries at 4 am. The list goes on .The staff have no interest in problems . The positive I thought was the location

We had a lovely stay at this hotel, room was fantastic, all amenities and very modern decor, very comfortable bed, very quiet location, bus and tram 3 minutes walk, great location. Would 100% recommend, very enjoyable stay.

We had a pleasant stay there. Easy access from Berlin Hbf and to our destination. I could do online check-in too. Very good breakfast especially the fresh waffles and smoked salmon and infused water. The only thing needs to be speed up is the way they need to fix the lift. I stayed there 3 days and until the last day I stayed one lift from 2 lifts they have not even fixed. I guess we all not very happy with that because I could see how busy it was in the morning and afternoon when we really need to use the lift. We even took stairs more that 10 times during stayed because the lift was seldom passed our floor! So at least there is always something to do to make it better than yesterday. Succes always and surely we will comeback there again when we visit Berlin.

Stayed here with family. Have been to other Novotel hotels earlier. This is by far one of the worst housekeeping I have seen in any Novotel or other hotel chains. Pros: location, decent sized rooms, 4 adults can stay in 1 room Cons: housekeeping does not change/clean anything else other than bedding and towels. They did not even wash the used coffee cups or change them and did not refill the coffee/tea. They did provide tea/coffee when we asked at the reception though.

Bedbugs! After a 6 day stay at Novotel Suites Berlin City Potsdamer Platz, my wife and I were covered with bed bug bites. We found bed bugs in our suitcase when we got home. I contacted the hotel who then told me customer relations would contact me the following Monday when they returned to work. 4 Weeks have gone by with no contact and 4 follow up emails from me were ignored. One top of the cost of the stay that resulted in our home being infested we have incurred additional costs insuring our home doesn’t become infested with these disgusting insects. A fun getaway turned into an expensive nightmare.

Liked. The room layout was very practical. The staff was cordial and helpful. Disliked: The hotel advertises A/C but they turn it off at night even in August. We were told the franchise owners do not care. At some point they moved us to another room where the a/c was fairly ok but again overnight they turned it off. If you think that hospitality is important in a hotel then choose another hotel where they are not also charging 17 euros for breakfast. Who do they think they are!!

I have stayed so many times in Novotel Suites in The Hague. I though I could find the same quality in Berlin as well. One thing I can say is they are completely different, the one in Berlin was nightmare. We had a 5 months old daughter at that times because of the bedbugs none of us get a night sleep. The hotel is really dirty the people are somehow do not care about anything! I strongly disrecommend

I have stayed at this Novotel with My family (4 members of family), We have been traveled for road trip across the Europe during summer holiday and we have found this hotel was not satisfied us at all compare to other hotels those we have chosen. The breakfast costs € 17 per person per night is very expensive if you just get not many varieties of food, the fruits were not fresh (banana, apple, pears), the automatic coffee machine were not working properly, the bread, etc. It is much much much better you save your money and go outside to find breakfast menu nearby. The staff lady who serve the breakfast was not impolite for foreigners like us compare to our experiences traveling across the Europe. Moreover, we paid for parking as well and they are not guaranteed you will get the parking space even though you had paid the parking spot, it is unusual experience for us who love traveling by car.

People does not respect the Covid rules. I have daily discussions with others because they wanted to share the elevator with me and my family (including a 2 yo who can not wear mask and get vaccinated). My suggestion: staff should control and avoid the clients to face those situations or don't overbook the hotel with too many people.

Baddest experience in my life! A man from bar came in, when we were sleeping, it was about midnight! We were so scared. Ww went down to reception and they even didn’t feel bad they were like “ Oh, no big deal, sorry” they told me that they will return my money back and as we went to other hotel they didn’t respond very long and of course in the end they fooled me and money wasn’t returned!

Clean, big rooms and polite personnel. However: i) wifi connection was bad ii) one of the two elevators was broken, and with only one functional elevator the process of going upstairs or downstairs took a considerable amount of time, people got frustrated, often there was no space for someone waiting for 5-10 minutes already - really not a nice experience iii) no restaurant in-house, although plenty of restaurants in the area iv) did not offer enough given price and this is overall my greatest issue; location is central, which makes it more expensive, but this is not enough in my opinion. They need to work a bit harder.

  • 3/5 Ben B. 1 year ago on Google
ELEVATOR BROKEN. This is a nice hotel but I would not recommend it until they fix both elevators. We stayed there for 5 nights and it was difficult on arrival and departure with all our luggage. With 10 to 15 minute queues to try and get in. Some of the staff was extra nice (evening team). Others did not seem to empathise much (morning team), and shrugged off our inquiries about the elevator. The hotel should warn customers with heavy luggage, with children, or elderly people that one of the elevator is broken and that it will mean waiting 10 to 15 minutes — each time they want to use the lift.

Room was big and had all the luxury. Also clean and has a good service. This hotel has an Great touristic address from there you can go to best spots off Berlin.

Gets a 3 star because of lack of cleaning. When we first arrived the room was ok, looked clean. We got the cleaning on the second day and the only thing done was the beds and trash was taken out. They didn't leave new trash bags on the bins, the toilet was disgusting and nothing else was touched really. We gave up on room service because it was not worth it. The pillows were not comfortable at all, it was all clumpy. Air conditioner has 3 speeds, the coldest one took a few hours to make the room comfortable (it was 36 C outside) which make it very difficult. Location is great though,it is across the street from the Anhalter Banhofb train station and buses. Supermarket and a few cafes real close. Waling distance from Mall of Berlin, Checkpoint Charlie and Postdamer Platz.

We stayed at the Novotel Suites, Berlin for 3 nights. It was a wonderful stay and I highly recommend the place. Staff were really good and pleasant. We went to the hotel early by an hour and beforehand I messaged them that we would be coming early and they kept the room prepared for an early check-in in without any additional charges. The receptionist also gave us an overview about the attractions and how to best use public transportation with the very cheap 9 euro ticket, even without us asking. The rooms were pristine. I think this should be a newly built hotel or refurbished at least.

I always book through friend recommendations or online reviews. I never had to give a negative feedback in my life. I usually overlook some minor negatives during my stay. Nevertheless in this hotel there were several incidents which forced me to do so. The first morning, while attending the breakfast lounge where the receptionist allowed us to enter and find a seat, the employee who was cleaning the table was extremely rude to us like we entered without asking. He did some impolite gestures. We returned to the receptionist and explained the same but nothing happened. Not even an apology. The WiFi in the hotel is just terrible. It never worked for our five nights stay. We had two iPhones and two android tablets. This is my last night and I send the feedback through GSM. The last night, after we returned from outside we realised that one of the two beds was not ready. The sheets have been removed but never replaced. We have a baby and it was too late. In the reception we, again, did not received any apology but we received a bag with everything we needed to make the bed ourselves. Not very professional to my opinion. I am very sad to say that I would not recommend this hotel. It is not cheap to accept all these negatives.

The facility is relatively small but it is clean, modern, and comfortable. The rooms are not large but are comfortable and clean. Large parts of the building were under maintenance, including one of the building's two small elevators, resulting in long wait times for one small elevator that moved slowly. The gym is effectively one weightlifting machine, some dumbbells, and some running machines and was closed at seemingly random times throughout the day despite being advertised as open 24/7. The location is the primary selling point of this location, being located within walking distance of a number of major landmarks, the Berlin mall, and a rail station.

  • 5/5 Ruairí C. 1 year ago on Google
The hotel was clean, staff were very friendly, breakfast was great, hotel was right next to an S-Bahn station, the AC was great during the higher temperatures. One of few negative comments I have is that the AC in our room wasn't working in our room for nearly 2 days. I also wasn't fond of the relatively large gap in the non-locking doors for the bath/shower room. Other than that, I would highly recommend this hotel to others.

  • 3/5 Rowan O. 1 year ago on Google
Our room was nice and clean when we came in. It's just lacking a bit in facility's. Where we thought we would be able to prepare our own food we were pretty disappointed to find our kitchen consisted of a water boiler, a sink, a microwave and a fridge that was super small. Also the trash cas was super small and would fill up fast. Our bathroom door was also lacking a lock. The service on the other hand was good. The people at the reception were very friendly and our room got cleaned very well. The best thing about this hotel is the location. Your located next to an S-Bahnhof and checkpoint charlie is only a few minutes away.

  • 1/5 Lital A. 1 year ago on Google
Rooms are big, location is ok right by a train station. Biggest problem is that house keeping turns the 'please clean my room' sign you leave on your door around so that it shows 'dont disturb ' so they don't have to clean your room which is disgusting service. And then reception is of course unavailable by phone to help if you need anything you're missing because they didn't clean the room. I was alone with a sleeping baby and had no way to to get a towel at 9:30pm and of course reception staff was unwilling to help me. The WiFi doesn't work either and the air-conditioning they state they have only works of it's 'very hot outside' (words of the reception staff) so you have an aircon control panel that doesn't work. Absolutely ridiculous Terrible service making my stay a terrible experience. Wouldn't recommend this hotel at all.

My partner and I loved our suite in Potsdamer. This room was just what we needed. It had a TV, a comfy bed, and a very very nice shower. The bathroom faculties as a whole were excellent as were the staff. They told us exactly how everything worked and what there is to do in the local area. I’m not sure on what the advertisement said, but this place isn’t fully self-catering. There is a fridge, microwave and running water separate from the bathroom, but there was no utensils or plates of any sort which was slightly annoying. There was also a large safe to place valuables in which was nice to see as room service are allowed to come in your room whilst you’re out if you set the sign stating you want room service. Overall, excellent experience, would bring cutlery next time!

Was given an accessible room which was nice but wasn't what we booked. We arrived quite late so they said to ring before 9 next morning and they moved us to a similar room but with a better bathroom bigger bed and separate toilet which was great. They was doing building work downstairs but it didn't affect us as we were out at the markets.

The suite room is spacious. The wc and shower are separated and both have wash basin. The shower room has showering and bathtub (very clean, new and anti-mould design). Room has microwave, fridge, safe box and water kettle. The hotel is very near to the S subway but no elevator near the exit. The hotel reception is currently under renovation. The check-in area is very cramped and no place to sit.

  • 3/5 Arthur N. 2 years ago on Google
Location is great!! The room was comfortable and we had a great view to the TV tower, but the room cleaning was not perfectly done and should be improved. The elevators are as well too few or too slow for the amount of people, can take 5 min until you can get it
