We spent a night in this posh hotel on our way back to Switzerland from the Faroe Islands. We disliked the decoration, more geared towards businessmen from the Arabic peninsula or wealthy German retirees than to our taste. We had the evening meal in their restaurant. It was not really up to the expected standards, serving overcooked fish and when having breakfast the next morning, we discovered plenty of bugs in the cereals. When shown to the restaurant manager, his face turned white, but there was no apology. We will certainly choose another hotel next time we'll visit Berlin.

The hotel is just perfect. Great design, very modern and it has helpful staff at the reception. You can easily adjust temperature to warm in the room during winter times.

Overall, the hotel staff were friendly. I was quite disappointed with the breakfast at the hotel. The cereal was stale. I tried two types and neither was crispy. I think it was most likely due to the way they were stored/presented in big bowls without cover. I also ordered the royal eggs Benedict. The eggs were totally cold. The vegetables (mushrooms and tomatoes) were very salty on both days. The room is small. The pillows on the bed were too soft. I called the front desk and asked for a firm pillow (granted a bit late, around 11pm at night) and they didn’t have an alternative option as the housekeeping department has left. I couldn’t sleep well at all. The pillows keep getting flat and do not provide any neck support. The AC control was not functioning so well. I feel like the temperature was not really changing much despite I tried to turn the dial. The mobile key in the Bonvoy app never worked. I did ask front desk to resend the key digitally and it still didn’t work. As for the items in the room, the kettle lid was loose. When you pour water out, the lid also will fall out which is not safe for handling hot water. Also, it would be better if there were shower caps or cotton pads as most hotels do have them. I’ve stayed at many of the luxury collection hotels within the Marriott brand, for example, most recently in Budapest. I’ve had much better experience in the past trips. The Steinplatz hotel is beautiful and I do wish my stay were more pleasant. I also submitted my feedback to the hotel and received no response at all.

We spent a night at this five-star hotel and had dinner in their restaurant. We remove one star for each unexpected event encountered. First, we had booked a luxury room with two separate beds, but were initially given a standard room with a king-size bed. Second, dinner was not up to standards, neither quality-wise, nor service-wise. However, the open wins was excellent. Finally, at breakfast, the granola hid dozens of weevils and numerous larvae crawling around in the bowl: an unexpected protein supplement! Did the waiter apologise? No. In conclusion, we give our initial experience at this hotel 2/5 stars. On the positive side, the rooms were spotless and the beds were great. The receptionists were sweet. Two capsules of espresso coffee with two bags of sugar, as well as a magnifying mirror revealing all of your facial pores in great detail were supplied. Finally, we appreciated the "Wunderbaum" in our car along with a water bottle, mints, and a hand-written greeting card received on departure. This adds a star to our overall grading.

2 nights; Titanium Member; Standard King Room The Benefits: No Lounge, breakfast included. Essential selections + a small made-to-order menu, all high quality ingredients. Upgraded to a more spacious room with a terrace. Around 40% larger than the standard room. The Good: My most memorable hotel experiences are those where it feels as though the host has personally occupied the same room countless times. A superb shower, a practical spot for hanging the towel, a bathroom drawer outfitted with a ready-to-use hairdryer... These are simple comforts, yet their subtle presence reflects genuine attention and forethought; little gestures that negate the need for verbal requests. This is one of the few hotels that checks all the boxes. For example, the lotion and the towel are in the shower room, so you can lotion up while staying warm before venturing to the main bathroom. Lots of caring touches here and there throughout the room. The Deal Breakers: None to speak of. Overall: Top recommendation for Marriott members. Very well-maintained hotel, offering a small yet highly practical gym. The staff is professional; situated an 8-minute distance from Zoologischer Garten station, with the S Bahn providing access to all crucial locations within a 15-minute span. Highly recommended and will revisit when in Berlin.

Amazing stay and I am very happy we decided to stay at this hotel. The staff are all so lovely and friendly. Five stars to the front desk. The room was clean, nice and loved the bathroom. I booked a service at the spa and enjoyed it. Breakfast was delicious. Couldn’t have asked for a better hotel. We were sad to leave and hope to go back soon.

I was quite disappointed when I arrived late on Sunday night to find they didn't really have a room service menu. The menu they had was so limited I had to go out. The room itself was clean and very comfortable. The welcome fresh lemonade is very appreciated but the lack of food service availability overshadows the excellent service and friendly staff

My stay at the "Hotel am Steinplatz" was solid. My expectations were mostly met with only a few things that could be improved, like the attentiveness of the staff, especially at breakfast or the cleanliness of the room which was on a high level but could have been even better. Furthermore, I had a standard room and have to say that the rooms can be quite small for a hotel in this price class. I would consider coming back to try the sauna suite, which seems to be a nice concept. Generally I believe the hotel is worth a try but still has some room for improvement. Lastly, and this is something I can say about 90% of all hotels I stayed at - please make better coffee. In-room as well as for breakfast. Berlin has some amazing coffee roaster, use them to your advantage.

Amazing hotel with most professional employees. Highly recommended to visit. From Lobby to your own room, you can experience something called "high standart" I am sure you can try lot of different things inside of this beautiful hotel. As I say, during your stay you can have rewarding experiences. There is a one of the best restaurant of Berlin inside of this hotel "Restaurant am Steinplatz". Of course you can have a breakfast here during your stay, but also there is business lunch and dinner. Which are great things to try and you are never gonna be dissapointed. Thanks for everything guys.

This hotel was beautiful, the room was very posh. Bed was so comfortable and I loved that the toilet/small sink were separated from the bath and vanity. It’s one of the nicest rooms I’ve stayed in. The gym was great, bonus for me it even had a peloton bike. Breakfast was amazing! The bar was closed one of the nights we stayed when it was scheduled to be open which was a small annoyance. On Mondays the restaurant is closed so we ordered off the bar menu and I had the grilled Gouda sandwich, would not recommend…I’m not sure if it was just an odd night but nothing about that sandwich was good. The staff was great and the two complaints weren’t enough of an issue to make this less than a five star review,

Had a lovely 4 night stay for a leisure trip. The standard room was spacious and fitted out to a very high standard. Spotlessly clean and pleased that we could open the windows as we like some fresh air. We opted for the breakfast at a discounted rate if booked in advance and we were not disappointed. The a la carte options were beautifully cooked and we were looked after so well by all the team. All the staff we encountered were super helpful and so friendly. The guys in the bar were great and made it feel like a home from home. I managed to spill a drink in our room and despite it being late in the evening housekeeping arrived in less than 5 minutes and the sheets were replaced. Top class service. The hotel is a short walk from the subway and the area around Sauvigny Platz had good restaurants and cafes and felt very safe at night. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay such a good one.

I loved my mani and pedi experience with Paula the beautician. She was so thoughtful of my comfort with offering me tea and techniques used to make me feel beautiful. Excellent service.

Best (after Astoria) place I have been in Berlin. Amazing breakfast, Buffet table and you can order extras from breakfast menu for the same price.

We had a stay here for 4 days and it was a wonderful time. The hotel is placed in a perfect corner away from the hustle and bustle of the main strip, but still within walking distance of all the main attractions and plenty of local eateries. Breakfast was a treat every morning and the evenings were filled with the best cocktails at the bar we’ve had in a very long time! If we are ever back in Berlin, we will not consider any other hotel, but this one!

Wonderful hotel and staff. We had to walk a long distance because the u-bahn was shutdown. They had water and cold towels when we came in. The room was lovely and clean with a great view of the park in front of the hotel. I would highly recommend this hotel and I would come back. Cannot say enough about the staff and how friendly and helpful they were. There are great restaurants near by too. Though the food, drinks and atmosphere in the hotel are excellent also.

We stayed in 3 different 5 star hotels during our trip, this one was the best of them and we would return anytime. Good beds, good rooms and a decent location. We had to leave early so cannot comment on breakfast sadly.

Incredible service, especially from Maria and Julia at reception. I arrived at the hotel in a bit of a frazzled state after realizing I had left my wallet at home in another country. They were both calm, warm and so helpful in finding a solution with me. I am incredibly grateful to the both of them for their resourcefulness and professionalism!

I had an impromptu stay here and loved it. It is such a cute and cozy art-nouveau style hotel. The receptionist was lovely and offered me fresh lemonade. The bar was nice, despite them only having 0,1 left for the wine I chose. They gave me some popcorn as well. The bed was heavenly. I loved the hand-drawn map of the area with suggestions and the short history of the building via QR code. I am often in the area but learned a lot more staying here. I would definitely stay here again. I was sad to leave! Thank you to the staff, you really made this place special to stay in.

Lovely hotel. From one of the delicious breakfasts (they have a buffet and menu to choose from with exceptional quality ingredients ) , to completely silent rooms - seriously.. have never been to a more quiet hotel! And the friendliest most helpful staff , from reception to the breakfast service. I was also fortunate enough to enjoy a spa treatment which was the cherry on top! Fantastic hotel, sophisticated on every level. Looking forward to retuning next year.

Clean and nice room with big a bathroom. The service and people was great. I was celebrating my engagement and asked if they could have a bottle of sparkling wine ready at arrival. They did, and also included some sweets and macrons. The congratulation note from the staff was also very thoughtful! The breakfast gets an 7/10. There should be more gluten-free and vegetarian options. The location was also very nice. Walking distance to many restaurants.

This Hotel and it’s employees go above and beyond to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Each of the staff members I was in contact with, were absolutely professional and genuinely attentive to make your stay a memorable and exceptional experience. The rooms deserve special recognition for cleanliness, thoughtfully selected furniture and well rounded accent pieces. It is very obvious that attention to detail is emphasized extensively. I am not easily impressed and pleased, but this Hotel, along with its employees, exceeded my expectations by far.

Dated room style and uninspiring entry. Nice friendly staff. Doesn’t really merit a revisit. Once is enough.
