You
can
walk
here
from
the
station,
even
with
considerable
luggage
but
google
maps
directs
you
up
a
flight
of
stairs,
that
you
can
avoid.
2nd
floor
is
served
by
a
tiny
elevator,
in
a
mixed
use
building
of
apartments
and
offices.
I
had
traveled
overnight,
without
sleep,
and
Desperately
needed
sleep.
They
upgraded
me
to
a
big
spacious
triple
room
with
high
ceilings
and
a
shower,
sink
in
the
room
and
with
toilet
down
the
hall.
I
had
booked
a
40
euro
economy
single,
so
the
upgrade
was
considerable.
There
is
construction
nearby
but
nothing
that
kept
me
from
a
daytime
nap.
The
mattress
was
comfortable,
as
was
the
pillow
that
earlier
reviews
criticized.
In
fact,
it
was
a
big
squishy
down
pillow.
So
perhaps
the
hotel
was
freshened
up
recently.
For
an
experienced
traveler,
tired
of
a
sea
of
ikea
furniture,
I’d
say
that
these
old
hotels
are
getting
harder
to
find.
The
rooms
feel
like
old
Berlin,
simple,
functional,
with
original
wood
floors,
and
some
plaster
details
on
the
ceiling.
The
restaurant
Neumann’s
continues
the
vein
of
slipping
back
in
time.
