The place is cozy and have a particular vibe to it. Lovely atmosphere. I went to attend jazz event. The band plays every Tuesday. First session was played by the band and it was amazing. For the second session after the short break, they let the new musicians to showcase their talent. Everyone deserved a round of applause.

I had a great evening listening to Jazz jamming sessions. What a wonderful establishment. Totally recommend and will definitely return. (I will possibly try to arrive a tad earlier to grab some better seats). Atmosphere was incredible. Waiters and drink service, also fantastic.

Best jazz bar in town. The atmosphere is super good, all the employees are very friendly and the drinks are tasty. Food is ok, only serve is finger food. Recommended!

Great service, atmosphere, selection, choice of music. We especially appreciated the personal welcome by all the staff. A wonderful experience. I recommend it. Easy to get there and leave by public transit- a bus stop that runs all night directly in front of the door.

Clean, cozy venue with next level musical experience. We have attended Tobias’ event. Laid back, relaxed but sophisticated. Cocktails are next level! No snobness, I will be a regular.

First time here for the tuesday jam session. Cool atmosphere and good mostly straightahead jazz, 2 hours worth of it! Uri Gincel trio and after intermission a jam with two more pianists, two more drummers, one more bassist, and a sax player. At 15 euro, two drinks included, it's a steal. Super-friendly bar staff. Note: reserve (of course) and get there early, good seats fill up quickly.

What a show! Great venue, friendly staff. Really welcoming. I'm not a jazz expert and felt comfortable. Great to have non-alcoholic drink options. Support live music!

On holiday in Berlin I had two fabulous evenings at ZigZag. The ambience of the small club was perfect, with varied seating for perhaps 40 people, in an intimate setting, and really added to the enjoyment of the live shows. Both the band and the jam sessions were musically skilled and highly entertaining. The staff of the club on both occasions couldn't have been more welcoming and attentive, even when muzzled by covid face masks. I left both nights grinning and I fully intend making ZigZag a part of my future trips to Berlin.

Most wonderful experience watching Mike Stern and Bill Evans on their tour. This club had atmosphere and a music / experience invested, and friendly, owner and staff. Intimate surroundings, great sound (really great sound!). Would most definitely go again and thoroughly recommend this place! Such good value when you compare it to it’s peers and there as much for the musicians as the guests - really refreshing.

Clubs are usually in basements. Being on the ground floor and with the relationship with the outdoors feels very good. A friendly and enjoyable place. The most appetizing aspect is that there is a different band every day.

Great place to enjoy the evening. I liked the fact that you pay 15 euros (which is a fair price) and have the right to get 2 drinks Their service can be better: I guess they can have more waitresses to make the service better. Food options are not limited but are good

Lovely Jazz club. The venue is small but that makes the experience even better. Thanks for a fantastic night and being so welcoming.

Extremely expensive entry fee. Expect to pay at least €35 (sometimes up to €50) to get in per person. Drinks will also have you to spend €11-16 per drink. If you plan to pay around €70 bucks for a night out in Berlin to see great jazz , then this is for you. To me it gatekeeps Berliners from being able to experience jazz culture with the high prices. Prices are for tourists and high earners.

Have been here frequently. Great music! Thanks to the size of the place and the closeness to the musicians there is a great atmo, enhanced by the charming waitresses and the wonderful staff. Not to forget the perfect sound! My favorite jazz venue in Berlin!

Very nice. Mike Russell and the Soul Kitchen were Amazing and definitely worth another visit. The only thing is, seating is terrible and very dangerous to sit in the back of the club and needless to say quite uncomfortable. Then there's the big pillar preventing you from seeing all the performers on stage, that alone warrants a seating discount. The entertainment and courtesy of the staff made the night worth while.

Nice cosy jazz place. The live music was of high quality and so was the audience.

We reserved for 4 at 8:45 for a Tuesday jam session when we arrived we paid at the door and were led inside to a very crowded room. There was no place for us. They tried to squeeze us at the back corner in a strange raised seat which had little to no visibility of the stage and was instead facing a Piller. When we asked for a better place we were rudely told that we should have come earlier even though we had made a reservation (and where even earlier then the reservation time). The point of which I don't understand. Clearly they overbook these events and hope to squeeze everyone in. I'm giving 2 stars for the fact that they gave us a refund without a fuss when we decided to leave due to the uncomfortable and unfriendly conditions.

Good atmosphere, great bands! The owner needs to be careful to not let people in when the capacity hits it's limits as then people start arguing about the tight space and forget to listen to the great music

  • 4/5 C. G. 6 months ago on Google
An improbable club - it's not in any cool neighbourhood, barely in any neighbourhood at all, but I have seen some of the best shows I have ever seen there. And missed some others! (Paul Motion, The Bad Plus, Melissa Saldana.) A really valuable addition to the scene. Good drinks at fair prices and comfortable seating, especially if you get there a little early. Good sound. Worth going out of your way for.

nice place, good music, live sound could have been better, the waitress her shoes where squeeking on the wooden floor and it was really disturbing during the live session. otherwise, nice place

The venue is great! Sound, atmosphere, hospitality all first class. Last night's music with Phil Robson/ Jed Levy group was wonderful, great band that made their tuneful original music accessible and inclusive to the audience. Great interplay and they all played their hearts out! Hope they will be back soon!

Fantastic atmosphere for this Berlin jazz venue. Great piano, sound, and stage with lighting. Fun place for drinks and listening to jazz performances. The jazz jam fee includes two drinks (house wine/beer/mixed drinks, but cocktails or specialty items are excluded). Only a few snacks on offer like olives / nuts so plan to eat before/after. Best to make a reservation or arrive early.

We went on a Tuesday to a jam session and it was excellent. The first part of the night was played by the house band, then other musicians were welcomed up to the stage to showcase their talent and jam together. A truly memorable night of great music.

  • 4/5 Aron O. 2 years ago on Google
Great curation. On this particular night none of the instruments were amplified through the front of house P.A which was very charming. But why not use the P.A system? At least a talking mic for the band leaders? Still charming. Great music. Wine list a bit limited. Red wine & jazz go no? Great club! Keep up the hard work.

It was a beautiful Jazz night. I enjoyed the atmosphere: nice, relaxing and "Berlin-isch" :)

Absolutely amazing place with the crispest sound system and great service. Even though we had to wait a little, the employee at the door ensured that we got seats for the packed Louis Armstrong tribute gig because we reserved tables online. If you like jazz and good drinks, make sure you visit this place.

It was our first time at the Zig Zag Jazz club. We came because we heard from some jazz players that this is the best jazz club in Berlin. It is, indeed. I just didn't like when piano player offended the normal, not very loud audience, that they should be more quiet, because they are not listening the DJ set, but jazz music. And he throw his microphone in angry manner. Exept that, everything was perfect.

It's my personal opinion but I think jazz without Sax is missing a very important element, that was jazz but no Sax on the jam session. Was alright nothing remarkable for me.

What an amazing gem in my neighborhood. The music totally captivated me and the cocktails were really good. Service was very friendly and attentive + the venue is cozy and puts you up close to the artists. Will definitely come more often.

I really really like this venue, it's a great atmosphere, great musicians, the staff there is incredibly kind and attentive. I give the place itself 5 star rating. That being said, I find that some of the people who come to this location do not understand that we pay to see the musicians, not to hear their conversations. I really wish there would more of an effort to emphasize to people that while it is ok to talk to each during the show, to spend the entire time having conversations and being loud is EXTREMELY disrespectful.

A total joy of a club. Friendly helpful staff to greet you and serve drinks. The venue was rocking and everyone was having a great time - especially us 2 older first time visitors to Berlin from Scotland. Loved every minute of it.

Live jazz music, friendly staff, cozy environment, comfortable seat place. But the cocktail price is a little high and they don't have complete snack menu.

I have to say that I really love this place, it has a very warm atmosphere, friendly owner & staff and of course great music. It just feels like home with their cozy sofas, I missed their super funky soul Wednesdays especially with the one and only Ingrid Arthur. Will definitely be visiting again this August!

Great location for jazz concerts. They offer often international top acts. Bit small, but that also gives it a certain cozy atmosphere. It reminds me a bit of the legendary NYC Blue Note Jazz Club.

Good venue: Interior is comfy, nicely decorated and definitely feels jazzy. Service was quite good. Drink prices reasonable (definitely not expensive). Friends and I really enjoyed our evening there.

A sweet club with lovely staff and great music, what more could you want? Its decor has an excellent balance between clean and traditional, so you both love the ambiance and feel entirely at ease. Loved it, and definitely will go back!

😐 Look, this is a decent burger. If we were allowed to give halves it would be 3.5 / 5, because it lacks a bit in seasoning and flavour. We had a fried currywurst from a random food vendor that was better than this one, dripping in an average sauce, I have 0 clue why this place is so highly reviewed, I’m baffled as my experience wasn’t worth of anything more than 3 stars. Staff were blunt and abrupt, sausage was...
