Klare Empfehlung!!!

Must say, quite a refreshing place to visit as it reminded me few of the places back home. Its a series of connected courtyards with historical vintage, full of art, linked with some cafes. Walking distance public transport and surrounded with a many eating outlets. Weekends could be crowded, especially on a sunny day!

11 Uhr.

This is such an enjoyable, beautiful place to walk around! It’s a mix of cafes and small shops and boutiques among lovely courtyards. It’s worth coming here to stroll around for a while. One of my favorite areas of Berlin!

Amazing atmosphere! Super lively with a live band and an older couple was even dancing in the beer hall. Definitely a tourist place to go. I don't think locals go there much. Service was great and we met some other tourists who were in town and made some new friends. Kaiserschwarm was 👌👌👌 and beer was great! Most only come in 1L so be prepared!

The Hackesche Höfe is a notable courtyard complex situated adjacent to the Hackescher Markt in the centre of Berlin. The complex consists of eight interconnected courtyards, accessed through a main arched entrance at number 40 Rosenthaler Straße. The complex was designed in the Jugendstil (or Art Nouveau) style by August Endel, and the first courtyard is adorned with a magnificent facade of polychrome glazed brick. The construction of this project, launched in 1906, follows a pattern of clear separation between residential areas, crafts, trade and culture, which distinguishes it from the courtyards of the 19th century. In 1909 Kurt Hiller and Jakob van Hoddis established Der Neue Club here which hosted such events as the literary evenings they called the Neopathetisches Cabaret (Neo-pathetic Cabaret). These proved to be very popular, often attracting hundreds of spectators. There is a plaque commemorating van Hoddis as one of the victims of National Socialism at the Hackesche Höfe

Very close to the Hackersher Markt station is this mall. It is a must visit place in Berlin for two reasons; one great food and restaurants in area and two the street art of Berlin. The lanes and Sub lanes depict a a good culture of Berlin. A very good place to spend time and enjoy some good food.

Worst meal ever in Germany. Travelled and eaten at many restaurants in multiple cities within Germany and this is by far the worst meal. Ordered the 2-course dinner menu - lobster bisque was way too salty and didn’t taste like lobster. We had the fried halibut with fennel and beef cheeks for mains. The halibut was small and fennel was tough, and beef cheeks were way too salty. Way overpriced for mediocre food. Only saving grace was the good service provided by the waitress.

Fun place to eat, shop and people watch. Easy access via the S-bahn I was here back in 2016 and since then much gentrification has taken place with many upscale shops etc There is still some history here if you look for it (look down)...memories of those who were taken from their homes and sent to the camps is visible with these tiny plaques

I loved, loved the architecture and the several other outdoors within the building. It takes you far back in time with a modern touch. The cinema is old but still efficient. One thing I liked especially is that the cinema's toilet has free sanitary pads, which is great.

My wife and I really liked this restaurant. It has two entrances, one leads to the main hall with tables(and a bar), which leads to a small hall with several tables, and an exit to the courtyard of the surrounding houses. And the second entrance goes through a large arch directly into the courtyard, where there are also tables. I really liked the dish that I ordered, although the portion was a little bit small, especially the unusual taste and color of cauliflower(never before tasted something like that). The desserts were good too. I would say that the prices in the restaurant are slightly higher than necessary.

Barrio judío.Es interesante hacer una visita guiada para conocer los diferentes patios y ubicaciones del barrio judío.Su historia se clavara en tu cabeza para después tomarte una cerveza rodeado de algo maravilloso y tan lleno de sufrimiento.

There are shops, cafes, etc. on the lower floors. It's best to stop by during the week when the shops are open. Interesting overall. Nice place to walk around and enjoy coffee, cuisine or shopping. It's a bunch of interconnected yards but certainly one of the highlights of Berlin Mitte and a great start to visit more sites which are all located nearby...

  • 5/5 Junah M. 2 years ago on Google
I'm not sure I'd call this a 'shopping mall'. It's a series of connected Hinterhöfe (courtyards). It's quite beautiful, worthy of a walk through... though I'd hardly shop here... unless you're a try-hard or tourist with too much money.

Worst attention in all Berlin, the owner told us that the restaurant was full but there was a table for 2 empty, he didn't said to us the waiting time neither take the names for a waiting list. We asked for the tables outside and with an ironic smile said I do not have a weiter. I do not recommend this place at all!!!!

Such a lovely place in the heart of the Hackescher Market with great food options, very nice wine selection and wonderful service. The staff is always so kind. I am always up for coming back even for just a coffee. One of my favorite restaurants in town!

Very nice part of Berlin you should visit. Very close to the Museum island and a very good place for coffee or lounch.

  • 5/5 Rudi J. 1 year ago on Google
Quiet, peaceful little inner courtyards that house some handcraft stores for jewelry, art and handmade candy. Not too full of people at the time of visit. Has a small sandbox for the kids to play in and plenty of benches to sit at and breathe in the peace and quiet around this usually quite busy part of town. Apparently this style of buildings is quite accurate of what Berlin used to be before the bombing and gives a good idea of how the city used to be.

It said “fine dining”. That, it was not. The food serves its purpose but lacks taste and finesse. The egg on the shakshuka was not poached. Not even cooked all the way. I don’t mind runny eggs but this had clear egg white. Waiter forgot bread and salt (which was needed). I’ll go again because it’s a convenient location and decent interior.

The single worst experience I had in a "fine dining" restaurant! The food was undercooked, the service sluggish and the menu questionable at best. Why would anyone think uncooked quinoa would be a suitable coating for undercooked sweet potatoes is beyond be.

Great food, great drinks, great service. The people were very nice, taught me some German. We sat outside, ambiance is great. We had schnitzel and beef cheeks, both delicious. If I'm in Berlin again, will definitely go back.

Visited on New Year’s Day thinking it will be a nice place for intimate dinner. The only thing ‘fine dining’ of this place was the price and the service. unfortunately, the food was a let down. Ordered lobster bisque, but there was no lobster flavor as it was overpowered by salt. I did not get the yolk element as well, felt disjointed from the dish. Ordered the beef cheek, which was decent. Potatoes were undercooked and the crispy kale didn’t add any dimension to it too. In fact, a long kale stem was intact. I could floss my teeth with it. The halibut was over cooked and the big chunks of fennel was too tough. I could not even cut it with the knife provided nor chew off in small pieces. I did not get the fennel with the dish too. Apple strudel - felt like they used frozen pastry… One star given for the wine selection and the helpful staff.

We really enjoyed our evening at Hackerscher Hof. The food was tasty and well presented. The staff was kind and courteous. The interior design is great and it was surprisingly quiet for such an open space.

The Berlin we love. A lot of contrast and variety. The Hackesche Höfe remained relevant and there are some real highlights to be discovered and a must see is the Blindenwerkstatt and the ever changing street art. .. cozy cinemas, wild bars, delicious patisserie, shows and more

One of my favorite places in Berlin with great atmosphere and amazing people behind the bar. I come to the coffee place regularly mainly for beers and wine. Unfortunately, I visited the bar today for some drinks with friends and we have to deal with a very rude employee that cleans the toilet. First, he didn't allow my friend to use the toilet and he kept asking for 50 cents. My friend had to come back to him with his beer in his hand in order to prove that he is a guest at the bar. Even then, they kept having a long and unnecessary conversation about paying or not for the toilet. Right before we leave, I decided to use the toilet and he had the same conversation with me even though he saw me ordering from the bar before. After I talked with the waitress, she informed me that she is aware of this behavior and she does not agree with him asking for money like this. Coming back to him and asking for an explanation for his behavior, he made fun of me saying that if 50 cents is too much for me to pay then he will permit me to use the toilet for free. It's really upsetting to deal with behavior like this and have to write a message online to ask for my rights... I will be happy to change my review and come back to this place in the future as long as the owner takes care of this behavior.
