Allegretto Cafè im Neuen Museum

Cafe Bistro

😠 The worst drink I ever had. That two drinks in red actually should be home made ice tea and home made limolade, however they tasted like the same, just fruit tea bag with ice water. We paid 4.9€ for a glass of water tasted tea. The coffee was not coffee at all. Tasted like instant coffee. This cafe... People often mention museum, cafe, rude, coffee, staff, service,

It’s a restaurant inside the Neues museum. Conveniently situated because we visited the museum in the morning and wanted to continue visiting the museum after lunch too (so that we didn’t have to get out the museum to have lunch). The food was good and the portion was big too. The Apple juice they serviced was way beyond best before date… (we visited here in Aug). it was still drinkable and we didn’t want to waste so we still had it though.. It’s a shame, as other reviewers said, some staff here are not so friendly. One staff asked me about some options for the meal I ordered and I first didn’t catch it and asked him to repeat and he almost shouted at me. It’s a nice cafe/restaurant otherwise so I hope the staff here improves the service in the future.

I left the cafe in a state of shock. Seeking for a table for a quick brunch, we were repeatedly ignored by the waiter . I tried to get her attention but not only she run away from me but she lifted her arm and shaked her hands like she was telling me to leave her alone. Disgusting!

If you need coffee, definitely grab some elsewhere before you come into the museum. It is NOT worth your time or sanity - the waitstaff is incredibly rude and slow and there is no counter service available. If you want to make the most out of your day, skip this one! Berlin has plenty of terrific cafes :)

Food was ok for a museum café, coffee was decent, service was… present.

Empty cafe, staff (young man and older women who looked like the manager) were ignorant and ignored any questions. You can’t come here for a drink you have to buy a whole meal which is extremely stupid for a museum cafe. Rude staff and extremely unpleasant experience don’t recommend.

Selection of cakes and treats in offer seemed okay. Unfortunately one member of staff was very rude and dismissive thus we decided not to stay as we felt so unwelcome. Given several other reviews detailing the same issue spanning years, it makes one wonder whether anything has changed.

Yes, terrible service. Very roude. In opposite to their reply, seems like it's a normal situation there.

We had a good experience here. Yes, it’s expensive, but you’re eating at a restaurant inside a museum — what do you expect?! We had an oriental wrap, a club salmon sandwich, gunpowder green tea and a latte macchiato. The food was fresh, crispy and tasty. Staff was typical German, not overly friendly but not rude either. Underrated place.

Food was fresh and delicious and not that expensive as you would expect from a cafe inside this museum. We got a warm papyrus bread with chicken and veggies with a delicious piece of cake, they have different options. It felt healthy and yummy. And they served the food very fast. Now we are well fed we will have enough energy to visit this amazing place the whole day ;) One tip: the day we visited we pay in cash, not sure if it is a permanent thing, just in case bring cash.

Rudest restaurant I have ever been to. Completely ignored by the waiter at the door for 15 minutes, then we went to the counter to order and got told to sit down. Honestly don’t understand why they hire such rude people for such beautiful museum.

the service brought a lot of chaos on place. we wanted to order at the bar, because we just wanted little snacks, after that we were told to sit down, waited a few minutes just to be told to go order at the bar, the waitress gave us one snack less and ran away from us few times to do another job while serving us, the food itself was kind of fine but overpriced for my taste, and theres no option to takeaway

We were attended by a very rude lady and food was not great at all. Better option for a cafe if you plan to visit is at Bode Museum just a few minutes walk away. Better food, better view and better service.

It was lunch time but they only had hot drinks and cakes available. Service was appalling....rude and dismissive. This national museum is missing a trick to increase revenue. C.f. British Museum London.

If you are told that your credit card is not valid, refuse to pay cash. We were so angry about the most unfriendlich waiter that we realised too late that he also did not give us a receipt.

I liked the atmosphere and the venue. The cappuccino was nice. The food was ok considering it was a bit expensive. Service was ok, not the best not the worst. It's nice for a short stop when going through the different levels of the museum.

Service here is absolutely abysmal. Feel free to waste all your valuable museum time waiting for incompetent and rude waitstaff but I recommend avoiding at all costs.

Dear managers and directors could you please pay bit more attention for Corona rules? Looks like you don't care. Before come in to museum Everyone were checked on Vaccine and test (2g). Surprisingly in cafe we were forced again show everything. Why are you doing that? THERE IS NOT WAY ANYONE CAN COMING WITHOUT VACCINE AND TEST.

Denied service- they are the coffee shop in a museum and I was unable to order an espresso. There was someone standing by in the counter waiting, but she told me she could not take my order. Staff was rude and I was instructed to wait for a table, however half of the tables were blocked off so that people could not sit there. Maybe better just to put a standard coffee shop in the museum .

Women can not handle a job where you might consider being welcoming and polite to your clientele. Two people in the cafe and she’s acting as if there were 40. Can’t handle a question and overall is being rude. Please save your money.

In meinem Leben habe ich selten so unfreundliches Personal erlebt. Sie waren laut und unhöflich, warfen das Geld auf den Tisch ! Dies hat unser Museumserlebnis getrübt.

Friendly staff. Quick service. Decent food. Good portions. Prices are affordable. They don't accept credit cards so be prepared. It's a great place to take a rest during your visit to the Neues Museum.

😠 Outrageous pricing policy, service and management! When you order a steak menu you get a salad (normal price 4.80 €) if you choose a different starter instead, it says on the menu: "We charge 3.00 €). In my opinion, this meant an extra charge of 3 euros. So I ordered one Another starter. The bill w...
