Really nice place €9.00 per adult for the Cathedral and the dome. You can stay in the Cathedral as long as you like but when go up to the dome there is a one way system up one set of stairs and down another so when you come down you can't go back up. Be aware that there are approximately 270 steps to the dome but when you get there the views are brilliant

Can’t believe that you have to pay €10 for entry. It’s a stupid business of rubbing tourists rather then a religious place. Anyhow we paid and entered but it’s not worth for €10. All I love the dome from inside so beautiful. Other than that nothing touch me.

You can’t pass by this piece of architecture art and not stop to appreciate this beauty. Seriously like where do I start?! The design? The colours? The location? I keep taking pictures of it and all I see is charm and beauty every time I look at it. See how beautiful it is at night in my other photos here.

This is one of the most beautiful places one can go in Berlin. It is soo beautiful from inside. There is also an option to go to the top to have a nice aerial view of Berlin for which you can take around 270 steps up the Cathedral. There is a cafe and washroom available at the exit, but you can either go up, check the view and come back down or directly exit towards cafe. I would say definitely to check out the view from top. The entry fee is 9 euro for adults, for students 7€. It is better to book the ticket online a day before and you will get 1 hour to spend inside and I think it is sufficient to check out everything.

Beautiful cathedral steeped in history. The interior has lots of space and light and has immensely amount of details. It's recommended to book for a timed ticket online prior to visiting. You also have the option of travelling up to the sides of the dome (267 steps, with no lift assistance - but highly worth it) which offers spectacular panoramic views of Berlin.

Great place to visit and wonderful sights. One of Berlin’s top attractions, you can’t miss this. The fact that there are sections under construction is a downside, but I would recommend a visit to this historic place and if you have time, go inside and look at the building and artwork, it is amazing. The place from outside and inside is great for taking photos to add to your collection.

The cathedral was beautiful, they have audio guides for several languages. It’s very big and you can make it up to the top to see a wonderful view of the city. The cathedral has lots of artwork, statues and the architecture is absolutely stunning.

Berliner Tor is an outstanding structure which is just as beautiful inside as it is outside. To visit, it coats roughly 10 euros each but this is super worth it. You are able to traverse the cathedral and make your way all the way to the top which is super fun! The view from the top is brilliant!

What of the most beautiful pieces of architecture I've ever seen. It puts the churches/cathedrals in the states to shame. The ornateness and design were eye catching especially since the cathedral loomed over the Lustgardern. I must if visiting Berlin. Beautiful piece of history.

The Berlin Cathedral, or Berliner Dom, is an architectural marvel that stands proudly along the River Spree. Its grandeur and intricate detailing are truly impressive. The interior is equally stunning, with beautiful mosaics and a magnificent dome offering breathtaking views of the city. Visiting this historic cathedral is a must for anyone exploring Berlin, as it showcases both religious and architectural significance in a captivating way.

Another beautifully architured Cathedral. So much history . And if you are fit enough, you could climb the dome and get a view from up there. A very solemn place of meditation and you be able so see many crypts within the dome itself. 👍👍👍

Amazing place with a very very good veiw , with a very big park in front of it and the river beside it. There is a beautiful structures , too many people are there. You should go on the weekend. You can enter the cathedral by buying a ticket then enter and go upstairs and see all the city from above.

What else could I say that adds beauty to this already beautiful piece of architecture in Museumsinsel? Magnificent church, and even magnificent view from the top of it! ❤ Went here on 25th Dec, 2021. ❤🤩

This was one of the top places in Berlin to visit. You had to buy tickets at a machine outside the cathedral. An adult ticket was €9 and got in up to three children for free. The inside was beautiful. But climbing 270 stairs to the dome have beautiful views, with the climb.

The view from the top is fantastic, and this is an amazingly grand cathedral from the inside and outside. It takes more than 200 steps to reach the top, so it’s a very strenuous climb, but it’s worth it. The steps start from being wide, modern ones, to those made of brick, than made of wood. Still, the steps are not sunken-in or overly tight like some older staircases can be. There are a few floors where you can step to the side to catch your breath, so this is a do-able climb even if you are not very fit.

A magnificent cathedral! Phenomenal architecture inside. Highly recommended. I'd advise to buy tickets in advance because it is a centrally located tourist attraction. The climb to the observation platform is strenuous, as you would be warned by many signs. It takes about 270 steps. Fortunately, they are broken down into sections of about 20 a time, and you will have space to catch your breath. You will be rewarded with the 360 view of Berlin. The observation platform is a narrow walk with ample guardrails on the side, just expect close proximity with other visitors. The ticket includes the entry to the cathedral as well as the observation platform, and if you are not sure you want to climb 270 stairs, the cathedral alone is much worth the ticket. It is absolutely gorgeous.

This place is amazing, not only for its history but also because of the beauty of the architecture and the view you get on top of the building. If you are a student you will get a reduction, so keep in mind taking with you your student ID in order to validate you are a student. You can stay here as long as you like, as well on top, with this amazing view... Recommended place and one of my favorites so far.

Am amazing Cathedral ! The entrance fee is 10 Euros in general and 7.5 Euros for students. There are a lot of stairs that you have to climb up to go to the top so be ready for that but once you get there you can enjoy the fantastic view of the Berlin. There is no elevator inside. So if you cannot use stairs do not go inside and save that 10 Euros for other places and just see this cathedral from outside. It is located in the area which is near to other monuments so do not miss other great places once you have visited here. Totally worth it if you can climb up with a lot if stairs.

Apparently the place looks older than it actually is, but it is still worth seeing. If uou ate ok with conquering couple of hundred steps, on a good day you can admire 360 degrees Berlin's panorama from the outer view point at the Cathedral

I wondered why I had to pay €10 for entering a cathedral. Suppose it’s for the view from top of the Dom. But you gotta pay even you just want to see inside the church and not go up for the view. However the view was great.

One of the most remarkable buildings I have ever seen. Fantastic to walk around or sit in the grass nearby. Expect to pay to go inside. At night, it's not uncommon to hear musical performers out front and in the park. Truly memorable.

Very expensive so we did not have the opportunity to view the interior. That said, we wish we wouldn't have been so cheap and went inside. The exterior is a mix of architectures and the history surrounding the building is incredibly fascinating. The part outside and the local buildings nearby make this a great area to stop and picnic if you are looking for beautiful views for a stop at lunchtime.

A stunning building with a whole lot of history - absolutely worth a visit. Tickets are very cheap, and you can go up to the balcony/walkway at the top of the dome to get a wonderful view of the city. The visit took me an hour and a half but I could easily have stayed for longer.

Very interesting and beautiful Cathedral, with great city views from the gallery at the rotunda - after climbing many steps, which get narrower the higher you get, so nothing for claustrophobic people, especially if not in decent physical condition! But also the main area has lots to see. The „basement,“ however, is currently closed but they have a very good little store, tucked away to the right of the entrance. Worth a visit too, also beautiful ceiling there. Tip: you can buy the entry tickets not only online but easily at the machine at the top of the stairs!

The Berlin Cathedral was much bigger than I thought it would be. It was truly spectacular on the outside and on the inside. You got to spend time enjoying the beautiful architecture and they even played the organ at some point. Once you have finished admiring the inside, you can climb the steps to the top and see the wonderful views across Berlin. It was a shame that it was raining as the views would have been better in the sun. Having said that, it is much cheaper than the TV tower and you still get lovely views. Just make sure to bring a disposable blue mask or similar as those are the only ones they will let you in with. And you will also need either a negative covid test or proof of your vaccine or proof of recovery from covid 19. Otherwise they will not allow you in.

This is a tricky one. There is a cost to go in and there are lockers to store baggage. The cathedral inside is a real mix of architectural styles, colours and textures none of which seem to really go together. The best thing here is the climb of nearly 300 steps to the dome and the view across Berlin. Definitely worth the entry fee alone.

It’s a beautiful tranquil cathedral, it also has a tour to the dome giving a picturesque view of Berlin. The tour to the dome has quite lot of steps to be taken, one needs to be fit to accent up and also get down. Ok completion of the dome tour, there’re access toilets and a beautiful cafe along the river.

An amazing place currently being renovated on the outside (Apr 23). This is well worth the entrance fee but it can get very busy as it is located near the museum island. The inside is a beautiful piece of architecture. Everything is in a very big scale from the amazing dome which can be viewed on the roof by climbing very long stairs to the roof. The views are amazing from the roof. There is also a cafe on the way out with a lovely range of cakes.

A beautiful cathedral inside and out. Be warned there are over 270 steps if you want to climb to the top for the panoramic view and there is no way back as it's one way so not for the unfit. Recommend you book tickets in advance as queues do form at the office

Beautiful Cathedral. Certainly worth the 270 steps to the top to enjoy the view of the city. Be aware it’s a one way system so once you decide to venture more than half way up you’re pretty committed to taking the rest! Plenty of places to rest though if you’re not used to the exercise. Highly recommended as the view from inside looking up at the dome is fantastic.

This is one of the most beautiful churches in the world. There is an entry ticket of 10 euros and there is also a locker room. You can climb to the top by 273 stairs, the views are stunning from the top. Some portion of the church is still under construction so it was closed.

Like many cities in Europe, churches feature prominently. Historic churches are common. Berlin Cathedral has a wonderful external appearance, and the interior does not disappoint. I am sure that people of Lutheran faith take great pride in their Berlin Cathedral, and so they should. I was taken by the intricacy of both the outside and inside of the building. It is worth a half hour or more when visiting Berlin.

Unbelievable Building. Beauty Personified. Magical. Owe-Inspiring. Wonder. Thought-Provoking. That's just some of the words that come to mind when you first walk into the Berliner Dom, look up and see the roof. It's an amazing Cathedral in general, we've been to a few, in the UK and all around the world but this was something special. I loved the Alter area with the red and gold and Christmas Tree. We even decided to climb the 264 steps to the roof to get 360 panoramic views of Berlin. Whilst on holiday we've done a few views but this was, by far, the best. Every single angle you got a different picture. Something different to look at. Well worth the climb.

This has been a beautiful place to see. But the queue was messy, so we recommend to buy the tickets earlier. The price is 10€ per person. The view from upstairs is beautiful, but prepare your legs and lungs, cause the way upstairs is a hard walk. The place is walk distance from the gate, very central.

Beautiful place. Sorrounded also by an art gallery, museum, garden and scenery bridge with markets. The tram connection close by, shopping malls, hotels and restaurants. I just love how the whole place is designed. One stop for tourists and a must see. Great architecture😍🤩

The Berlin Cathedral is famous for having a 75-meter-high dome and a bell that dates back to 1532. The construction of this church was completed in 1905 and it was built on the site of the church that existed during the time of Frederick the Great. The building of this church was built in the new baroque style and it is considered the biggest church in Berlin. You must go to see this church and the ticket price is 10 euros per person. You can also go to the top of the church which has a 360 degree view and enjoy the view. The view is better during the day

An impressive, elegant building in the very heart of the city, with lots to explore and discover. Beautiful architecture and decorations, and an eerly serene atmosphere inside, which encourages reflection. The €10 entrance ticket includes the 360' panoramic view from the top (267 stairs to climb!!) which really is the cherry on the cake, as you get to see Berlin in all its glory. A great experience which I strongly recommend.

Absolutely beautiful.. it is so serene and amazing. There are no right words to describe effect and beauty of this 1000s of year old cathedral. You can view entire Berlin city from top, if you are ready to step up more than 100 stairs in total. It is very near to museum island and walkable. It has a lake on one side and beautiful market around.

Stunning architecture and decoration, painstakingly restored. Museum is all models, which is only good if you like that sort of thing, but there were interesting English-language history videos in the church. 360 degree views from the dome well worth the long hike up the stairs.

What a spectacular building! I had the privilege of playing the magnificent Sauer pipe organ in the cathedral for about 20 minutes - just amazing. The building is striking from the outside, but you should get a reservation and see the inside as well.

Beautiful place to visit, regardless of what your believes. You can go to the top of the dome and walk round. I didn't fancy climbing over 30 steps to get there

Imposing building that need to visit. You can take a lot of pictures there, you can also see the garden that is in the front of the building. With snow, the place is just magical..

The magnificent dome of the Cathedral Church is the main highlight of Berlin. The Berlin Cathedral has an incredible architecture from the top dome to the bottom heading downstairs to the vaults. You can always get the entry ticket to the cathedral and walk towards the dome for a splendid view of the Berlin city. You can spot the impressive basilica here. From the literature related to design of the interiors - The Cathedral Church is dominated by a monumental dome crowned by a lantern with a golden cross and flanked by four towers. Raschdorff drew his inspiration from the Italian High Renaissance and the more florid baroque style. With its lavish mix of ornamental mosaics, gold features and impressive statues, the interior is clearly informed by the late nineteenth century’s love of grand gestures and display. The most notable works of art are the marble and onyx altar, designed by Friedrich August Stüler, and the white marble baptismal font by Christian Daniel Rauch. In the Baptismal and Matrimonial Chapel, the monumental painting of the Descent of the Holy Spirit by Carl Begas in the style of Raphael is also well worth seeing.

What of the most beautiful pieces of architecture I've ever seen. It puts the churches/cathedrals in the states to shame. The ornateness and design were eye catching especially since the cathedral loomed over the Lustgardern. I must if visiting Berlin. Beautiful piece of history.

I was not inside but even outside it does make an effect! Its filled with beautiful details and as its near the Museum Island many beautiful buildings are near. Its still in some renovation tho as for now.

A monumental Evangelical church on the Museum Island in the centre of Berlin right next to Spree River. It is a must- see place for everyone because the interior of the dome is gorgeous and you can listen to the pipe organ playing. At noon there is a mass / service in German so the sightseeing and taking photos may be restricted. The 9 euro ticket allows you to climb over 200 steps to the top. The panorama is breathtaking. Don't miss it! The important thing is that toilets are available to everyone, and there is a donation box in which you can put half a euro if you want.

Beautiful cathedral, about on the scale of St Paul's. Currently under renovation but still an awesome (original meaning of the word) piece of architecture. I'd love to hear a service here but unfortunately haven't got time! A ticket allows you to walk up two stories for some fantastic views over museum Island and the Lustgarden. Cafe in the basement with vegan and gluten free options! Just a stunning place all round, the stained glass, the organ, everything!

Europe has many architectures that look almost identical to this cathedral. But Berlin’s feel more unique and special due to relativity. Per aftermath of WW II, most buildings here are newly built and thus modern and futuristic. Berlin Cathedral offers a taste of authenticity and reminder that you are indeed in a historic capital. Whether for dates or sightseeing, this spot is highly recommended. The fountain and park here offer many spots to sit and open up conversations and just chill

So it is pretty big on the outside and looks majestic I’ll give you that. But other than that it is super overrated. It cost 9 Euros per person to go inside which is really expensive for entry. And beyond that the inside is just like any other cathedral. Save your time and don’t go inside

Beautiful cathedral. We were fortunate to be there at about mid day when a service was going on. The organ was being played and the music really very beautiful. The service is short and is only about 20 min. Do bear in mind that you need to purchase a ticket from a machine to get in, and the instructions weren’t too clear. For adults it costs €9 so just look out for the ticket of that price

  • 5/5 Ralph Nicolai L. 1 year ago on Google
It initially costs around 9 euros to go in, but is worth it! The architecture is just amazing. And if you dare, you can walk almost 300 steps to a top part of the Cathedral. The experience is just amazing!

The Berliner Dom is stunning. The entry is 9€. The exterior of the building is being renovated at the moment, but it only « impacts » pictures. Indoors it’s wonderful. You can climb on top and have a great view (270 steps to climb). If you want to see it all, plan to have time.

Berlin Cathedral is a stunning example of German architecture, with a rich history and beautiful interior. It is a must-visit for any visitor to Berlin. Pros Breathtaking architecture Impressive dome Beautiful interior Interesting history Great views of Berlin Cons Can be crowded, especially in peak season Tickets can be expensive Not wheelchair accessible Visiting tips Visit early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the crowds. Buy your tickets online in advance to save time. If you are wheelchair user, there is an elevator to the top of the dome, but you will need to be accompanied by someone who can climb the stairs. Allow at least 2 hours to visit the cathedral, including time to explore the interior and climb the dome. Overall rating 5 out of 5 stars Here are some additional tips for visiting Berlin Cathedral: If you are interested in learning more about the history of the cathedral, there are guided tours available. There is a cafe and a restaurant in the cathedral, so you can grab a bite to eat before or after your visit. The cathedral is located in the heart of Berlin, so it is easy to reach by public transportation. I hope you enjoy your visit to Berlin Cathedral!

The cathedral is really beautiful. If you want to have a nice view of the city, then I would recommend climbing upstairs. It's nearly 200 stairs, not recommended for people who are claustrophobic as the stairs are a bit small and compact as we go up.

Amazing. Astonishing. Beautiful. The Cathedral is stunning, truly a piece of art. And the view from the top is more than worth those 270 stairs you have to take :) Definitely recommend, 10/10.

Berlin Cathedral is an absolutely amazing place. €10 is a reasonable price to visit this masterpiece and it is worth every cent. The exterior and especially the interior are so impressive. This is an outstanding example of architecture. Also, climbing to the roof is included in the price.

Its a good view from the top, but the inside is really interesting too, looking up from the center looks really cool. They way up is not that great it starts with normal stairs but they get smaller and smaller but once your made it it looks amazing. Unfortunately this place is not available for people in wheelchairs.

Beautiful cathedral with interesting tombs inside. I would have loved to have made it to the top for the panoramic views but it sounded too difficult to walk up there. Also note that if you buy the Museum Island pass, the Cathedral is not included, you have to buy tickets online separately.

  • 5/5 Mike W. 9 months ago on Google
Book your tickets online in advance and expect to take anywhere from 1 to 3 hours depending on whether or not you are interested in history/ Christianity or just Instagram photos. Please take time to sit in the pews and read the really informative leaflet. The dome is also open if you fancy some views. The coffee shop is nice and then you can sit beside the water and watch the boats go by.

The Berliner Dom was beautiful. As soon as you walk in your see the gorgeous dome and lovely altar. We walked up the 267 steps for the panoramic view and we were lucky, the weather was sunny and warm. You could see for miles. Worth the effort.

One of the more beautiful churches I have visited in Germany and my 2nd favourite church so far in Germany. It is quite beautiful both inside and from the outside. I wouldn't really recommend the climb to the top as there are much better options in Berlin.

  • 4/5 Priyanka 8 months ago on Google
The outside view of this cathedral is most breathtaking. Next to it is the bridge over spree river and museum island. Overall a beautiful place to spend sometime enjoying the lovely architecture and scenic beauty. I did not see it from inside but my friend who did, mentioned you can take the stairs inside to get to the top to hve a beautiful city view.

  • 5/5 Laura A. 8 months ago on Google
It wasn’t very clear if you can go up in the dome with the same ticket or if you have to book it in advance. But after we entered the church we realised that you can actually go up with the same ticket (10€). The views from above are beautiful. The cathedral is beautiful also, even if rebuilt. There are also organ concerts. The crypt was closed unfortunately.

This cathedral is spectacular and well worth the 10euro entrance fee. Tickets can be bought on site. We were there in October so it wasn't busy and no wait to get tickets or admitted. If you are up to it, you can climb the 288 steps to the top observation deck however once you start up, there is no turning back. It is a challenging climb and the final sets of staircases are winding and narrow. Take your time. Once at the top the views are wonderful.

We only went to climb the dome but you are struck by how beautiful the church is as soon as you walk in. It's stunning. We then climbed the steps to the base of the dome. The views of the city are great but would recommend going on a clear day for the best views.

A really fun experience—My favorite part was hiking to the top of the Dome to see the views overlooking the city. I also enjoyed catching the 20-minute midday devotional service, which was unexpected because I didn’t know that was happening, but it was cool to experience! The Cathedral is really beautiful, done in a High Renaissance style, so everything is intricate and ornate. I thought there were audio guides, but the cashier told me there weren’t, which was confusing, based on what other reviewers said. Still, it was great to walk around, take lots of photos, and soak in this historic space.

Most photogenic building of Berlin. The cathedral is a piece of art in itself- with beautiful paintings, carvings and stories. The cathedral is open to public with access to the rooftop which gives you an exceptional view of the entire Berlin city.

I love historical buildings. When I travel even it is so touristy I love seeing and photographing architectural gems. This cathedral is so beautiful and awe inspiring. It is a must see and visit.
