No.1 tip, come here in Summer. I came both in summer and winter, and there is no comparison. During winter they board up the statues and bring most of the plants indoors to protect them so to see the park at it's fullest, come in summertime. There are a couple of hop on hop off stops around the park so jump off at any of them and just cruise around.

A must see! Absolutely beautiful and stunning gardens, which are free. You'll have to pay to enter the castle. We only had 2 days in Berlin and were wondering if it was worth it spending our second day here and it did not disappoint. It's about 40min way from Berlin HBF with RE1. I didn't see any picnic table but you have many grasslands and benches.

It is really awesome. A very big park that proposes the variety of small gardens inside, the large alleys, labyrinths, fountains and statues. Sometimes it lacks some care or cutting but it is comprehensible considering its side. There are a lot of bancs and even with a lot of people you can find the place to stay sole

If you are in Berlin, choose a day to visit Potsdam and the gorgeous Sanssouci Park and Palace. This is a place where history meets beauty being surounded by nature. Pic some comfortable clothes and shows as it is a big area. You will find a charming café to recharge your energy and then go on have a memorable day in this magical place. If you can, rrad about it before going as this will help you experience it in another level.

Very big and beautiful park with huge old buildings, thousands of sculptures, fountains. Entrance is free of charge, if you walk slowly, sit and eat, you can easily spend 4-5h. Quickly walking min 2h. Entrance into the palace costs 19Eur per adult. Also there is a nice botanical gardens inside the park

the park is a nice place to take a walk and take pictures or just to enjoy the scenery. Very beautiful and clean. Also that day we've been there it wasn't too crowded even though the weather was fantastic.

Sanssouci Park is a large park surrounding Sanssouci Palace in Potsdam. It is very easy to go to by train. Stop not in the central station but the next stop. When you walk back true the park. You can take the bus to central station. Built under Frederick the Great in the mid-1700s. Following the terracing of the vineyard and the completion of the palace, the surroundings were included in the structure.

The park is amazing. It is easy to spend several hours there. It is very serene. The park is essentially a large forest with labyrinthine roads connecting various palaces. There is a botanical garden and tons of statues. Palaces range from very small to the New Palace of more than 200 rooms. Several palaces are open for tours and very much worth it. Single palace tickets are a few Euros, and there is a 22 Euro ticket that includes admission to all palaces in entirety.

Amazing palace. The tour offers listening devices in various languages. The tour of the park is a full day or more. The Sanssouci Park is a treasure of information and German history. I love this place and will return soon.

What a beautiful park! The grounds are extensive and you need several days to walk around to see the real beauty that's here. The buildings are still very beautiful, although need some work, it's still good to see the heritage.

A visit to the Palace of Sanssouci is an experience of going back in time. The Palace is much as it was when occupied so long ago. There is an admission fee and should you be planning to also visit other sites in the area, be sure to check if there is a combined ticket. We visited in December and one should note this was a summer palace -- there is no heat and this palace was kept as it was originally. The grounds are beautiful and we can only imagine the greater beauty during the warmer months.

Selbst im Winter sehenswert! Zwar sind die Skulpturen alle eingepackt und die Natur ist noch nicht grün, aber dennoch ist der Park wunderschön und lädt zum schlendern und entdecken ein.

Really enjoyed my tour of the beautiful palace. Unfortunately we didn't have the best weather so didn't see as much of the gardens as we would have liked. We took a picnic lunch which was a good idea. Lots of pleasant places to stop and appreciate the formal gardens. One day not really enough to see everything.

So big that you can walk there for hours. The scale is amazing. The buildings are majestic. The atmosphere is mesmerizing. You should also turn left or right if possible. A Chinese tea house, a greenhouse and other interesting buildings are located here

Sehr empfehlenswert

One of the greatest parks ever. But bring your own snacks and a bottle of whatever as there is almost no restaurants and no place to buy anything.

An gorgeous UNESCO protected park enjoyable in any season. Sculptures protected under wooden covers during winter until end spring. Viewable End Spring until end Autumn. NB sledding on hills not allowed when it’s snowy and no picnics on the open fields for some reason. Shame, but otherwise well worth a visit.

Good to spend a part of your day here, but not special in terms of historical background or wealth and splendor. Perhaps I am spoiled with visits to the French castles and palaces, or the ones in Vienna. Chinese tea house (3€ entree) is cute though! We walked, but if you want to cover more of the park then a bike is recommended. They do not allow to park your bike everywhere though, e.g. at the teahouse.

Large impressive landscaped garden with lawns, flowerbeds, wooded areas as well as many buildings. Great place for walking round, is popular with visitors. No entrance cost but car parking in the area can be difficult. Dogs allowed on lead in park, but there are very few rubbish bins around. Facilities such as toilets and restaurant near main entrance but not inside the park.

The most wonderful place in Potsdam, a great man make park that benefit both human and animals. No matter gorgeous historical buildings and palaces, various fountains and gardens, different forest tracks have been designed nicely for all of visitors to enjoy. Strongly recommend for all! For your own interest, maybe rent a bike for a half day tour in this large scale of park.

This is a really impressive and additionally very historical place. It's a "must visit" location for visitors from foreign countries for understanding the former emperor lifestyle in Germany / Europe. The large park served from 1747 to 1918 ( 171 years long!) as the summer residence of the Prussian kings and German emperors. Sanssouci is above all the park with the unique terrace complex and the magnificent fountain in the center, world-famous and included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1990. For more than 250 years, the highest garden art has been combined here with the works of the most capable architects and sculptors of their time.

Sansoucci Gardens or park surrounds the Palace. The park has a big fountain at the bottom with statues at the periphery of the mountain. The statues add a lot of charm to the fountain and park. The park has a terraced vineyard and vines are visible during summer months. Overlooking the park is the Palace on top of the hill. One of the more visited places in Potsdam.

When you are traveling to berlin, I would strongly suggest that take atleast 1 day out to visit postdam, very beautiful city and the main attraction is this Sanssouci park. This is a very big park and infact there are lot of monuments to see in this park. Starting from Sanssouci palace, fountains, modern palace, summer palace, etc. I would suggest before visiting it try to find some free self guided tour, so that you can get a idea what are you looking for. This is a very big park, so be ready to walk a lot. While travelling to Postdam don't come on monday or Tuesday because you will find lot of things closed on monday or tuesday.

A must-visit place when you visit Potsdam. Sanssouci Park is a vast park with several famous palaces inside it. Although the ‘Sanssouci Palace’ is the most famous palace among them, my recommendation is ‘Orangerieschloss(Orangery Palace)’. Besides these two palaces there is one more - ‘Neues Palais(New Palace)’, which a part of it is used as University of Potsdam’s buildings. It takes a few hours if you try to see the whole park at once, so take your time and don’t rush. It’s a great park overall, with organized bushes, great architecture, a river running through and fountains along the main path. Recommendation score 10/10. Enjoy!

One of the beautiful places in Potsdam, nice architecture, especially the sculptures are amazing & very detailed. Naturally beautiful and peaceful. We visited in Autumn, so the trees were colorful and the weather was too good for walking. Both the back side & front side are nicely designed and managed. The stairs with a beautiful garden and a small lake creates an eye soothing view, the palace is a nice photography zone. The whole place within 2/3 kilometres is beautifully designed with some 3 palaces & garden. A must visit place.

It is a big beautiful park, but all the statues were closed, probably because we went in the winter season. I would love to see it in the summer. There are palaces inside. Potsdam University is also located here.

I had an incredible experience looking at these castles and the Sanssouci Castle was the holiday castle . This was the summer palace of Fredrick the Great. The name is based on a French phase meaning without concern and the attraction receives 2 million visitors annually . It was built above a vineyard to reflect the pre-Romantic ideal of harmony between man and nature

I must express my sincere admiration for the grandeur and scale of this park. As the first place I have visited with a cherished companion, it holds a special significance for me. I particularly enjoy coming here during the Spring and Summer seasons, and I believe that this palace is a must-visit destination for people of all ages. It truly is a marvel of beauty and design. Overall, Sanssouci Park is a true masterpiece of art and architecture, and is a testament to the rich cultural heritage of Germany. It is definitely worth a visit for anyone who appreciates history, art, and natural beauty.

Arrived super early in the morning and proved to be such a relaxing walk. You can find many early birds jogging around the grounds or walking their dogs. There's maps with different colored trails and even estimated times for each one but we decided to just go with the flow and fall in love with nature. Even though we went during the last week of November I'd say it was definitely worth it with an amazing autumnal vibe. Leaves were still falling and we did get some rain so make sure to also bring an umbrella!
