Don't think this hotel is 4 star worthy. The rooms are dated and no nice conditioner or attention to detail in the rooms. I was also seething when I saw they charged your 4.50euro for a glass bottle of water, that should be complementary at the very least, especially when I paid almost 800 euro for 4 nights! Also, what's the deal with the shared iron located on the corridor on level 6? I thought this was a joke. However, I couldn't fault the breakfast, it was very good and staff were attentive, and it's located right in the heart of the cool part of Berlin so it has good and bad points but please do shop around.

The room was actually nice, and the location is good. However, in my room, there was no power outlet near the bed! The service was poor, and the guy at reception, with East Asian gestures, was totally unfriendly. There was no hair conditioner, body lotion, hotel shoes, or any other important amenities, other than shampoo and body wash, in the room. Worse than a 2-star hotel! Breakfast was not special at all. Totally not worth the price. Save your money and go somewhere else. Nothing there deserves a 4-star rating!

I stayed here for 10 days, and I am very pleased with the experience! The room was comfortable and had everything that we needed. The staff were incredibly nice and helpful! We had to get a package sent to the hotel, and they ensured that we got the package no problem. The location of the hotel is also really good. It is less than a 5-minute walk to a U-banh station. Also, there are a ton of restaurants, bakeries, and stores around the area. Would definitely recommend!

Overall I have a good experience. Rooms are clean and spacious, service is very good. Underground parking to hide a car. I can recommend for business trips :)

Great hotel. Excellent breakfast. So so bar and very overpriced. Rooms were too warm. 140euro for a night was crazy when I could have gone to the JW Marriott for 119. Location is in a predominantly middle eastern sector.

The size of the room was really big. And we had a good view of the very busy Main Street. Lots of ethnic food in this area. That’s where the good ends. The neighbourhood is really run-down and dilapidated. The Rollberg Kino that is attached to the hotel is extremely dilapidated with leaking roofs (buckets had to be placed everywhere when it rains) and empty shops, leading one to feel slightly unsafe when walking through the area. The carpark - entrance is located in Mainzer street, it is underground. Once underground, the hotel parking is in a restricted area behind steel roller shutters. To open the shutters, look for a red button located on a pillar opposite the shutters. When you have to leave the hotel, the “switch” to open the shutter from the inside is a tennis ball hanging from a ceiling. Kind of a joke really.

Price quality is top. Rooms at the backside of hotel are quiet and great view. Clean and nice rooms. More aware of ecology. There is a sauna and fitness. Didn’t try breakfast but curious and definitely worth going again. Staff no opinion, there was almost no contact and it was mostly a bit colder and pragmatic.

The hotel is located in short walking distance from all the stations. Our room was very clean and spacious while the staff was kind and helpful. The 4-star review is due to the breakfast being a little bit pricey. Will definitely visit again!

The hotel was clean and pleasant. The staff were very friendly and helpful too.

The rooms are actually pretty ok, quite modern except the shower. The shower pressure is quite low along with no soap for hands when washing them. It does come with a safe and a refrigerator which is nice. A/C worked well as a plus. The only friendly staff were the receptionists and bar staff, the staff in restaurant for breakfast were not very friendly at all. Location is ok, near Ubahn so reasonably easy to travel around Berlin. Breakfast was nothing special to be honest, simple foods, yes you can order eggs from extra menu, do this. Unfortunately they clearly weren't cooked well but actually what i expected.

Nice location, but the wifi is excruciatingly slow. ~2 Mbps on the free network, and I'm told the paid network only reaches 10 Mbps. The AC in my room was also broken. The hotel said they were sending a technician to fix it, but it did not get fixed during the duration of my 2 night stay. To their credit, the hotel did offer to move me to a different room.

The room was everything we expected, the night is not too pricey for the quality of the stay. Beds were comfy, temperature was perfect, bed sheets were soft, room was clean, overall what you expect from a hotel room!

Great rooms and the staff was really kind and helpful. The whole building is so cool and comfy. Also they put a pack of gummy bears next to each bed 🥹🩷

Quite old and ugly building, old rooms, terrible wifi connection, not a great location. In 2023 it's a shame that you offer such a poor wifi connection to your guests.

Have stayed here a number of times. As before the service was good, the staff helpful and the breakfasts excellent. BUT this time we had room 650 on the 6th floor facing Hermannstrasse which is a busy road. Thus generally too noisy to have the window open - even worse on the lower floors I imagine. So avoid that side of the hotel. Also the air conditioning unit was very noisy which made things even worse. Having said this we would return to the hotel but check the room position first.

First of all, the room we got wasn't clean enough and we were able to see dust in the room and someone's hair in the bathtub. The bed was not flat as it was a double bet consisting of two single beds. On the TV, it seemed that you can cast the screen of your phone/tablet/laptop, however, it was not possible. Besides, the wifi was extremely bad. We got a code for high-speed wifi, but we couldn't even watch a short video on YouTube without lagging. So we asked at the reception to change rooms. The receptionist at that time (on 25.07.23. in the morning) was really nice and he gave us another room. We thought at first the new room was great. Yet, the air-conditioning was malfunctioning (you can't change the temperature from 24,5 degrees), on the TV, there was only the channel ARD and the wifi was still extremely bad.

What a sad and ugly hotel... From the moment you get in, it looks like a sad retirement home from the 70's. The decoration is ugly, the carpet looks particularly bad, the view from the rooms is even more depressing... The wifi in my room was the worst I ever had I tried to say hello to the house keeping staff twice... no answer... The lobby boy went away from 20 min when I needed to remake a key... True story : there was an automatic machine to make pancakes...lol Anyway... make yourself a favor and use your money in a better way... you deserve better :-)

It is OK, better than other Mercures in Berlin. But the picture of the chair explains that renovation is required...

Clean rooms, good service and breakfast but pricy for "older" look of the hotel in general.

  • 4/5 Andrei S. 4 months ago on Google
The room and staff were great and the breakfast was delicios. But we did not feel safe walking around the neighborhood. At least the metro station was close.

  • 4/5 Stephanie H. 7 months ago on Google
The rooms are clean and very large but quite old fashioned. The carpet in my room was smelly which I informed the front desk about. Internet is ok but sometimes slow and spotty. The rooms face the busy Street Hermannstrasse but with closed windows it's very quiet. The area is not the best but there is a drugstore and several amazing bakeries nearby.

We booked the Mercure Tempelhof mainly because all the other hotels closer to the city were far too expensive. Upon arrival though, we were delighted that we did. The staff was awesome, helpful, friendly and forward thinking. The rooms were much better than many other hotels. Spacious, quiet and clean - even the air condition was easy to handle. Being in Tempelhof provided us plenty of opportunities to find the right cafe, the best baker and other shops. Most importantly for us though was the ease of getting to the U-Bahn with great connections to Alexander Platz and more. Highly recommended hotel - but the single most important reason for the 10* rating clearly, was the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff.

Abit too traditional for meal, but of course I love the location. It gave me acess to a wide range of varieties of sport. Also I like the provision of kettle in each room

We got a good deal and had a comfortable stay. Friendly staff. Breakfast was expensive inside, but there are plenty of options outside. They had all facilities like fridge, freezer and even a hot plate! There is no complementary bottled water. A large discount supermarket, Netto is right next door.

Newer hotel, no maintenance. It could be a reasonable place to stay. It looks clean and with adequate comfort. Disgustingly dumb reception personnel spoiled the stay. They were explaining things about what they had no comprehension, trying to make me look stupid. In our room the kichenett sink had only trickling water flow. I complained in the morning, nothing happened. After the second complaint the maintenance guy came up and shut down both cold and hot water completely. When I complained again the reception person explained that "I must never try to use the water from the sink. If I need any I should get it from the bathroom." I ended up removing the aerator from the spigot and the full flow was restored. The door frame between was detaching itself from wall. The maintenance guy "fixed" it with two wedges hammered in from the carpet. The kichenett was supplied with no pans, plates, detergent etc. The water hot pot has never been descaled. It is so noisy that would wake up anybody sleeping.

the quality of the air conditioning in the room was pretty dismal. even at its coldest setting, it was very hot in the room. the single air conditioning vent in the room blows into an area where it doesn’t reach the couch or bed. also there is virtually no way to prevent the bathroom from flooding while showering without stuffing towed into the gap between the glass partition and the tub. there are only single duvets which is weird for a couple on a vacation. also, In general the hotel lobby is very stuffy and not well ventilated and the hotel doesn’t have any outdoor space for sitting or relaxing. The staff was very nice and the hotel was clean, and the breakfast room was spacious and nice.

Great hotel, location is close to main parts of Berlin especially being on the U8 line. Breakfast is lovely, and staff are very helpful. Although would be nice to provide laundry facilities, and a café open during the day.

Fair price for medium quality rooms and service (the cleaner told us that the towels we used are clearly unused so it doesn't need to be changed??) but nice breakfast

This was really an unexpectedly bad stay. Staff came in three types: slow but friendly, unfriendly and incapable of speaking German. The place looked very old and not as a stylistic choice. I'd checked in around noon and only actually went to my hotel room past eleven at night. That's when I was greated by a stuffily hot room. AC wasn't working. The telephone in room wasn't working either so I called the reception desk with my smartphone. The person in question couldn't speak German and I was too tired to try other languages. He tried smashing all the buttons I did and told me I had to try the next day. So I opened the window and exchanged the stuffiness for very loud city noise instead. The breakfast on the next day was good though I could sadly not enjoy it much being very tired. That's where my one extra star goes. On checkout I was merely asked to confirm the damaged AC and was promptly attempted to be overcharged for my stay. Avoid.

Great location, comfortable rooms and clean and very practical. The staff was pretty rude and unfriendly but I think its because they have too many customers

The hotel staff held the last room for my family, Friday evening after our flight was canceled and only after phone communication. We were also offered a discount, water, and our boarding passes were printed willingly by the staff. The hotel itself is clean and spacious and in a very lively neighborhood. Thanks for everything!

I always stay in this hotel. Big rooms with all facilities and great value for money. When available, I get early check ins or late checkouts. Really happy with my stay, super comfortable rooms.

Large rooms in a good location. Staff were friendly. The sauna is pretty nice, the hotel gym feels like an afterthought, just a couple of machines. The big problem was it’s advertised as having air conditioning but it doesn’t actually cool the room. I was shown several rooms as an alternative, but all with the same issue, the room an uncomfortable 25C (stayed in early June). Staff told me it’s because the air conditioning system for the whole hotel is old. I’d go back in winter but it’s too hot to sleep here in summer.

Pros: Really nice place especially if you want to be close to neukoln. Breakfast was nice, staff is friendly. Cons: room was cold (November) with no heating system that we can adjust. Asked the staff about it and they gave me a small heater, it helped but it wasn't enough.

Hotel authorised my credit card for 2500 Euro which was not released for a week and in addition charged 1700 Euro at checkout for the stay. So they blocked 4100 Euro on my credit card instead of 1700 Euro. As a result, my card was declined for a transaction with a different merchant since their incorrect authorisation got me over the credit limit. No real options for Vegetarian food. Restaurant said they cannot make me a vegetable sandwich since the chef was too busy. Had to talk to hotel manager to get Sandwich.

I'm leaving this review on part of my family who stayed while they visited me in Berlin. I left a bag with some of my belongings in the room, namely my ONLY pair of good boots and some new leggings. My family left them in the room and we only realised they weren't with their luggage at around 2pm. The staff said that they checked the room and there was nothing there. Impossible. After confronting and stating how disappointed I was, they tried to tell me that after 5 hours they discard what has been left behind - they were still holding my families luggage at this time!! As if there's no such thing as a Lost and Found??!! There is NO WAY a hotel is entitled to treat their guests like this. It's such a shame as I thought it was a nice place and with decent rooms. However I could not recommend anyone to stay here. I didn't even get a proper apology. Rude staff and poor management.

Highlight is definitely breakfast, and Mr. Sänger ! thank you again for your understanding, and your cooperation. Location not so good, not the fault of the Hotel though. We didn’t think of it before, so our fault. All in all we are satisfied. If you in search for understanding and reliable staff, you are at the right place! the only reason we would come back to the same hotel! oh btw, the waiter who cleans the brekky tables, is A WAY TO FAST , we weren’t even done, and my cup and my plate was gone even the rest of us ( 3 people) was still eating. maybe a little advice ... Rooms are comfortable, but should be renovated, a little bit of investment doesn’t hurt. Coffeemaker old school !!! a nice espresso machine would be better. Anyway, ... I slept good, the bed was perfect ! ‘And surprisingly silent, I slept like a Baby ... thank you again ... Very lovely people

The room was big and comfortable, but the hotel was far from the main attractions. I had to work during the time I was staying in the hotel and the internet was extremely slow. I ran a test and it showed 2 mbps.

The hotel was conveniently located off the Ubahn and near a main road of shops and eateries. The check in process was very straightforward - the staff who assisted me consolidated my bookings so I was able to stay in one room for the duration of my stay. The rooms were clean and housekeeping was very prompt every day. I loved the kettle and teacups made available. My nest friend and I will definitely be staying at Mercure in the future!

Absolutely no customer service. An issue that could have been dealt with over 1 email on their part was dragged out over a week due to lack of communication or courtesy. They charge 90% of your booking unless you cancel 14 days in advance. They offered me €30 euro back off of €330 booking after being treated with complete disregard. Entirely unhelpful and rude.
