Hotel was actually quite acceptable, good location and rooms were big enough. Unfortunately, the bathroom stinks of urine and waste and the fun is literally ruined. Breakfast was there, but could certainly still be improved. At least the price was right and wasn't too high for my wallet. I hope that urinating in the bathroom isn't standard here!

Exceptional hostel. Staff are wonderful and the bar is cheap with a great selection. The rooms are clean, large and warm. The bed linen and towels are clean - basic hotel quality. The building is stunning, huge and has a swimming pool and sauna. The free shot on arrival tells you what kind of stay you're gonna have! The location is perfect, very close to a station and Berlin's public transport is excellent.

The rooms were lacking in amenities, and they were small. Wall plugs are impossible to use because they are so deep. However, the breakfast was very good value and the staff were very nice. Lovely pool and common room. If you are looking for a cheap stay this is the place.

Price / offer: Very good. The breakfast is nothing special and I met a few people who preferred to eat breakfast outside. The rooms are perfectly fine, but the walls in the room were a bit empty, two pictures or another decoration would have been nice :) The location right on Warschauer Straße is very good! Very nice staff.

Stayed here as part of a group of seven during a weekend trip to Berlin. Hotel is based in an old school and the building is absolutely huge. It was easy to find and is located in a neighbourhood full of clubs, bars and places to eat. The hotel has some great features including a pool, sauna, football pitch, garden area with art gallery, restaurant and beer vending machine in the lobby. The rooms were a good size and fit four of us comfortably. Shower and bathroom were clean and also a good size. Staff were friendly and very helpful with directions and also arranging taxis for us. Only minor issues were the rooms at the front were quite close to a nightclub, so you could hear the music through the windows. The bed was also a little on the small side. I would definitely stay here again though, and would also happily recommend to friends.

The kitchen is too small for the size of the establishment, only a fork two spoons two knives, 4 plates for the entire establishment and a frying pan. Terrible for cooking. In addition, the super swimming pool in the photos is not open so don't count on it, the least you can do is remove the photos. Afterwards the dormitories are large, it’s pleasant and there is space.

The staff are lovely and the rooms were overall clean. We did not have toilette paper and soap in our room. We ordered and it was not a big deal. In Corona times it would have been better to have some soape. The wifi was fast and the commune rooms were fun to hang put in. For breakfast we had a nice coffee with a cookie for 5 euroes, it is also very close to lidle.

This place is, without a doubt, the best hostel in Berlin. I cannot say enough good things about the kind/cool staff, the very large and clean rooms, the amazing showers and bathrooms. But the best thing about this hostel is the people…. So many young and old people alike traveling wanting to make friends. Fast wifi, quiet places to work, lots of space to hang out, amazing locations next to U and S bahn. As someone whose stayed in hostels all over the city… this is the best one!

Amazing hostel, 12€/night per bed and they clean the rooms everyday, bathroom was nice also having into account the price. Staff friendly and efficient, and on top the hostel has garden, kitchen, sauna, swimmingpool. It’s also super well located. I would totally come back again.

We stayed here for one night. It was perfect. Affordable place with very nice rooms. And close to the city center as well. But we learned that they might be shutting this place down soon so :(

One of the best hostel in Berlin. So impressed that it really gets everything you need and super friendly staff. The four people bedroom feel really cozy and private. I was living in another hostel early on and it’s heavy and hell.

A good hostel. The rooms are big enough, the tall ceilings make them airy. Bring ear plugs though as it is noisy. The rooms overlook the internal square so the noise out there rattles around. The staff were not particularly friendly and they could do with a few more on reception as there were often queues.

Overall great. Security for my room(5 bed mixed dorm) 10/10 big lockers need your own lock. Beds were comfortable and warm enough Heating was adequate, room was spacious. Shower was scolding hot, had to turn of radiator to mitigate, still very hot. Location was close to U2 train. But slightly less than ideal for sight seeing. Good location for clubs. Breakfast was 7 euros and was just fine. Overall fine.

Centrally located, low-key and friendly staff? Check! Average guest age 'round 18? Check! Partying encouraged? Check, but still quiet in the rooms. Beer-dispenser in the lobby? Check! Prices and room size are favourable - come here if you're going to spend time in the city and want to spend money on something beside your hotel.

The only problem I had with the hostel: why there is no sockets for the hairdryer near the mirrors in the shared 4 bedrooms? I get it, it’s a safety measure. But why then there’s isn’t a mirror outside of the bathroom? It’s horrible to get ready without being able to see anything. But the staff is very friendly and willing to help, the location is great, the guests were all very nice and friendly as well, all of the people I’ve shared the bedroom with were amazing. And the community kitchen is very clean and organized. I just love everything about it, besides the lack of sockets.

The hotel's swimming pool and spa is closed forever, so it's dishonest to leave the photos on the website and say it's included in the amenities. The kitchen is really too small for the hundreds of people who stay at the hostel daily, there is only a hotplate, a microwave, 7-8 plates, 5-6 forks or knives. The only positive points are the location close to all the nightclubs in Berlin and the metro + S Bahn, and also the price of the rooms which is resonable.

Easily yhe best hostel I've seen. It's massive, there's a big garden with soany facilities. Also swimming pool, sauna, laundry. The communal kitchen was never too packed. The staff is friendly, there's even a big room if you need to work/study. I highly recommend

The positive: - It is located very close to the East Wall Gallery. - Staff is friendly. - The food at the restaurant is surprisingly good! The negative: - Room had an automatic perfume-dispenser, which made the room smell so bad that it made my daughter throw up from nausea. - Bad neighbourhood with many drunks and homeless people. Glassshards litter the ground in most of the area. - Rooms and hotel is worn out and is falling apart. - Noise from night clubs, trains and firetrucks during the entire night. - Beds and pillows to soft to lie comfortably. - Breakfast was low standard (somewhat surprisingly compared to the high quality at the restaurant).

Really nice hostel! The staff was very friendly and the place is massive. Perfectly located next to the train station for sightseeing, and very close to some of the best night clubs in town, if that’s your thing. The other guests were nice and very respectful (I stayed in a 4 bed female dorm). It was a huge room! The only down side is not every bed has an outlet next to it. I would definitely stay here again

I stayed at the Plus hostel for 4 nights and I have found the hostel to be excellent value for money. Due to the lively location it can be quite loud at times and busy but that is to be expected. The rooms/bathrooms were clean with nice high ceilings. I had a minor issue with the room and after speaking to reception a guy called Tillman dealt it in a most professional and prompt manner which was great. Keep up the great work!

Let's put it this way, not the nicest hotel I've stayed in so far, but quite nice as a course trip. It fits the description of hostel more closely. Room, breakfast and staff were fine, although we had a room right at the entrance (007). There were homeless people drinking in front of the room and it constantly smelled of cigarettes, which was due to the not so great location of the room.

My experience was mostly good, the rooms were large and clean and it had good facilities and lots of events to help meet people. Pool and sauna were nice and had a cool garden, also close to public transport. My only criticism is that my bed was made every morning and as a result of this my brand new headphones went missing. It was awkward knowing someone had been through my belongings when making my bed.

DO NOT BOOK if you want to be relaxed! Rooms with broken lights and broken airconditioners.. Disrespectful staff made of students and hippies who are always on a smoke break. If you stand at the reception desk for sometime you would hear several guests come and complain about their rooms. No phone in the rooms to call the reception for anything so you always have to get dressed and physically walk to the front desk to complain after which they say that they will send someone who never really comes to fix anything. Take an extra minute and book some other hotel for your own sake.

Large hostel with a great location for exploring Fredrichshain, Kreuzberg and the wider city. Located near to Warschauer Straße S Bahn/U Bahn stations and just a few minutes walk from Ostkreuz station for the airport train. Rooms are basic, standard hostel bedrooms. Facilities are good, but the bar and restaurant were closed due to Covid when I was there. Friendly and helpful staff, nice courtyard outside. Free WiFi, secure rooms with key card and 24 hour access to the building. Breakfast is basic and available until 11am. Bike hire from the hostel is also possible. A pleasant stay and no major problems, the only slight complaint is the pillows on the beds have seen better days.

perfect weekend stay at Berlin, nice location, good staff, spacious rooms, ridiculously cheap and worth the money (you will get great value for the price you pay for). I will definitely stay there again next time.

It's a shame that you have to give one star to even write a review. With so many disasters to list, you just don't know where to start. The hygiene in the room doesn't even exist, mostly stained and dirty walls, the toilet also scares you because the doors are damaged and everything is full of stains. The beds are just as shaky and hard and you couldn't even eat the food without getting a stomach ache. At merlinsbarte
