Overall
this
is
a
good
budget
place
to
stay
in
in
Berlin.
It
is
situated
in
a
lively
area
with
plenty
of
restaurants
and
interesting
shops,
and
has
good
public
transport
links.
However,
the
hostel
itself
is
on
a
quiet
residential
street
so
you
won’t
be
kept
awake
at
night.
The
hostel
itself
has
a
fun
vibe;
the
reception
area
doubles
as
a
bar
and
you
can
socialise
with
other
guests
there.
The
buffet
breakfast
is
very
good
value
for
money.
The
dorms
are
reasonably
clean
and
the
beds
are
comfortable.
(You
have
to
make
up
your
own
bed
and
strip
it
when
you
check
out,
but
I
didn’t
mind
this.)
There
were
a
couple
of
things
I
didn’t
like:
firstly,
check-in
is
not
until
4pm
-
I’ve
never
known
a
hostel
to
have
such
a
late
check-in
time.
I
arrived
in
Berlin
early
in
the
morning
and
was
hoping
to
be
able
to
shower
as
I
was
feeling
grubby
after
a
night
on
an
overnight
bus
-
but
when
I
asked
if
it
was
possible
to
use
the
shower
before
checking
in
(something
I
have
been
able
to
do
in
previous
hostels
I’ve
stayed
at),
the
answer
was
a
blunt
‘no’.
Another
negative
point
was
the
coin-operated
lockers
they
have
for
storing
luggage.
A
member
of
staff
explained
to
me
that
if
you
want
to
remove
something
from
your
locker,
you
have
a
limited
number
of
seconds
(I
can’t
remember
how
many
exactly)
before
the
locker
resets
and
you
have
to
put
another
2€
in.
However,
this
is
not
the
case,
as
the
lockers
actually
reset
the
moment
you
open
them,
which
is
very
annoying.
On
another
occasion
when
one
of
the
lockers
swallowed
my
money
I
was
told
by
a
member
of
staff
that
they
couldn’t
do
anything
and
that
if
I
had
a
problem
with
the
lockers
I
needed
to
ring
the
telephone
number
written
on
them.
I
really
don’t
think
it’s
fair
to
expect
a
non-German
speaking
tourist
to
do
this.
The
bathrooms
were
grimy
at
times
but
I
don’t
really
blame
the
hostel
for
this,
as
it
must
be
hard
to
keep
up
with
the
number
of
people
using
them.
