The memorial is essentially located on the premises of the Ministry of Defense. It is the only place that is allowed to enter. A book with metal pages lists all the names of the fallen soldiers. A shocking number. We live in peace, but there is always war somewhere in the world.

Sunflowers 🌞 for the fallen soldiers during interfaith prayer. You can always put flowers or candles yourself.

Very good design, moving. Unfortunately the chosen location is very remote, probably chosen deliberately for better protection.

A place I've wanted to visit for years but somehow it didn't fit. Now it happened and it was impressive. Audio contributions in which nothing is trivialized or glossed over by relatives are made available. Even though I was conflicted about the choice of location, they still put a lot of thought into it and implemented everything very well. We recommend.

The Recondo Vets MMC's “Memorial Run Berlin” has been taking place once a year for 13 years now. Veterans from all over the world come together in Berlin in May to commemorate their fallen comrades with a motorcycle parade. Everyone who would like to take part in this event with respect and decency is cordially invited.

Unfortunately currently closed in September 2022. When it's open again, you should go there. The Bundeswehr is helping us a lot right now. For the troops you should have theirs. Otherwise, the route through the embassy district is worth it. So come on, no excuses!

Stunning memorial that has a true atmosphere to it. Very poignant architecture in a quiet area. I can highly recommend visiting to pay respects and really immerse yourself in the building.

A worthy place - unfortunately not easily accessible

Important place to commemorate those who lost their lives in the line of duty. In its simplicity, it is a worthy place that, due to its proximity to the ministry, may also make one or two civilian employees think. The information center located next to the memorial is equally impressive. oppressive audio and film documents about BW operations and their fallen soldiers

A worthy place to commemorate, unfortunately too remote and not even flowers on site every day, unfortunately I was just passing through and was there too spontaneously.

I find the memorial very impressive and moving. The individual parts only become apparent little by little: For example, the shape and meaning of the "punched out" walls, the inclined plane (since the world has fallen apart for the relatives after such a loss), the mention by name of every single Bundeswehr soldier who died in service on the back wall, and of course the metal book, whose pages list all the deceased, sorted by year of death. The sheer number is frightening and thought-provoking. The memorial is absolutely worth a visit!

As a veteran of the Bundeswehr, a visit to the Bundeswehr Memorial is always worth a trip, and of course you shouldn't forget the Forest of Remembrance in Potsdam.
