Dangerous place! My wife was robbed when she was paying for the purchase. Their security ignored that (looks like they work in pair with robber) and were persuading just to forget about the incident (they said that no cameras there and it is usual thing for those market and no actions needed and we need just ignore that wife was robbed). When asked cachier to be witness, cause wanted to call police, she said that will not say anything to police (one more point why it looks like staff works in pair with robbers). So my recommendation - keep safe and do not visit this place.

Cashier extremely rude. I told him I didn’t speak German yet he treated me as if I were a kid. All happened because of a hand basket, Jesus. It’s an older, grey hair, tall employee. Be careful, because, apparently, he seems to bring his frustrations into his work. If he doesn’t want to speak English, that’s fine, he doesn’t have to. In fact, he doesn’t need to say anything at all. All he needs is to do his job. I didn’t come here to be treated like that. I really hope he comes to his mind and take some time out if a situation like this is satisfying to his life. If maybe, doing anything else would rather be better than being rude to foreign customers, who are paying as much as anyone who speaks German. I didn’t ask for anything, I was quiet. I put the hand basket exactly where he pointed at. Still, he left the cash desk, went there to check, speaking things in german. Since some words sound similar to English, it was rather easy to notice he was swearing and lecturing about foreign people in “his” country. Last, but not least, I tried to file a complaint at the customer service, they kept me waiting there for nothing. So basically, the only way to report this situation is here. It was my first and last time at this supermarket. I will not support employees like this. Time of the purchase: 08:19 pm, September 5th, 2023. REVIEW UPDATE: I did send the email to the contact provided below by their comment. Guess what? They replied in GERMAN and nothing was done. It’s unbelievable how disrespectful and careless about customer service this company is. But, as history shows us, companies like this don’t thrive and competition will do its job. FYI: TOURISTS: DON’T GO TO THIS PLACE. They just don’t want you there and they don’t “need” you. Shame on you twice, Kaufland.

Terrible costume service! I went grocery shopping and went to the self checkout counter. The employees kept talking in German when I asked if they could speak English since I’m from another country. Kept yelling at me in front of other customers in German. Then the employee got even more mad at me when she saw that I didn’t understand. This was an extremely uncomfortable situation to be in. You shouldn’t treat some costumers differently and/or bad because they don’t speak your language. Is this how you want to treat costumers? Would not recommend. I swear, some people should not work with costumer service.

You do not have many options for big grocery supermarkets in the area, and this one is the best given the size and the location. Several self-service cash desks, many discounts even a couple of cafés on site.

Fantastic hypermarket on 2 floors. Massive selection of food and other goods at keen prices but no assistants on the shop floor to ask for help when trying to find something. You have to go all the way back to the entrance to the customer service desk.

Typical German supermarket covering two stories selling just about everything but not clothes like a lot of the large supermarkets here in the UK. And like most of the supermarket here in Germany a large selection of Beer what the Germans seem to buy by the crate

Big supermarket with two floors. Sometimes it can be really crowded especially on weekends doing the area. Products are fresh but if you come to shop at the end of the day, it can be that most of the products are gone. There is a counter on the second floor with fresh meat and fish, although this closes at 20:00 (it closes two hours earlier than Kaufland)

A great grocery store offering a very large number of goods and products from fresh and frozen foods to home appliances, clothes and kitchen utensils. The prices are reasonable; not the cheapest but just ok. There are some problems including lack of wifi because there is no phone reception in it and the fact that they should just open more cashiers so the check out qeues get shorter.

Doesn't have all the products like other Kaufland stores, but still a few vegan things. However, next to the quite wide selection of small snacks for tourists at the entrance there is a huge section for organic products on the second floor.

Love this supermarket. So much choice.. Very reasonably priced too. Remember to scan your receipt to exit if you've self scanned.

It has more of food items less of other stuff being a central one I'd expected more variety of other house hold stuff but still would suggest it as a good place for shopping.

Similar as Carrefour, fair prices, also got quite a few restaurants and beverage shops ,not bad at all. Pleasant experience.

Reasonable array of items to buy. Self scan a bit of a faff but given its proximity to Alexanderplatz, the prices were good.

I don‘t know why but the buyer for this supermarket has a sugar issue. It should be called „zuckerland“ because i have never seen a supermarket with 500.000 different sweets. You will find sweets from the 90s here. Palmöl, weizenmehl und zuckerland. If I had to paint a graph this supermarket consists 80% of sugary highly processed and unhealthy products. It‘s actually crazy. Very commercial supermarket. Not my favorite.

My preferred supermarket in Berlin-Mitte is conveniently situated within a 5-minute walk from Alexanderplatz and Hackescher Markt. Spread across two spacious floors, it provides ample room and a varied selection of everyday essentials. The main entrance is on Karl-Liebknecht Straße, while the back entrance is accessible from Rochstraße, offering convenient access to the parking area. Undoubtedly, this store contributes significantly to improving the lives of both residents and visitors in the city.

big supermarket with a lot of many things. There is a park that I love right in front of here, and it is convenient and nice to have such a big mart nearby!

I've been to many Kaufland stores and this one is the worst by far. I wasn't able to find a normal whole chicken 🤦

Terrible terrible terrible experience at the self checkout counter! The girl at the self checkout counter has some serious problems and needs to learn how to deal with customers. It's a great shame to see such a nice store with such terrible people to ruin your experience. :( I hope this gets taken care of.

Shop is ok, but charging money for free token to use wheels, wagen, for buying their stuff is not ok. Lidl, Aldi, Rewe give chips, tokens for free.. man wanted to charge this. So if you have card to pay food, you wont get in..lame deal, never again in Kaufland sorry :/

Value for money supermarket. Ideal for both everyday and quick shopping. Situated in the alexanderplatz area. You can easily navigate your way from here to nearby historical areas and buildings, like park, church and etc. 3 stars because range is limited and it felt hidden in the area.

Most of the time everything is great and you get even more than what you want or need :) But battle returning is often a problem, eventhough they have 4 machines for that...

Good fair price, don't have to stay in a Q to enter the shop, lots of weekly Offers 😀 unfortunately because of war shortage of cooking oil (sunflower oil and Rapeseed oil )

Probably the best Kaufland in Berlin, with its nice organic section. It is also a bit larger than the other ones and always looks fairly neat and organized. I highly recommend this spot for the weekly grocery shopping

Busy, but a quite big grocery store as others said before me. It has stuff like food... Not a lot of experience just shopped once,.seemed fine. I wasn't amazed, but I'm not sure a grocery store would be capable of that.

Big and friendly. You name it, they have it. Prices are moderate. On Saturday there's a crowd of people, you'd rather do your shopping early in the morning

  • 5/5 anon 1 year ago on Google
I'll give this 5* because the store is so large and has everything that one would need. It has two stories and there is a wide variety of products there. I loved their bread options! The employees were also nice even though I didn't speak German. I asked one of them if he spoke English and he did, I was asking about UK to Germany plug adapter and he replied nicely and told me that I'd find these in Saturn (which I went there afterwards and got it from). I also asked another employee about another product and he also spoke English and was polite to me. Overall, I liked this store :)

Supermarket with lots of stuff on two floors. It's always a big crowded and full of tourists which makes it a bit annoying to go shopping here. It's not a relaxing experience.

  • 5/5 Amir J. 2 years ago on Google
You can almost find anything here, also there a big parking for cars and bicycles. We usually go there to buy fresh fruits. There is a big place on second floor which you can find different kind of meats and fishes. Moreover, there are many kind of diaries on the second floor. Also there are many types of beer on ground floor.

As usual there are so many choices of food, you can find everything you would need here and even more! Prices are good and quality too
