Due to constant understaffing (typical Vivantes), there are usually very long waiting times in the emergency room, depending on the urgency of the injury or illness. The order of who comes and when is determined according to the "Manchester Triage System", life-threatening things first. The waiting room is clean, but very stuffy and small. There are hardly any toys and only a few books. But there is a changing table. The good thing is that you can park for free for 2 hours right in front of the entrance. The nurses and doctors are ok. and friendly.

We were very satisfied with the care at birth, in the intensive care unit and in the premature baby ward. The doctors, midwives, nurses and nurses were very friendly and tried to make the stay as best as possible for the child and parents. Thank you for that.

I gave birth here in November and had an awful experience. I will say, the midwives are all very friendly and lovely, and the beds have motors to adjust the angle, which is great. That's about it. I arrived with intense labour pains and felt forgotten about. I was put in 3 different rooms, each for an hour long before I could go to the Kreisaal. I wasn't allowed to have my husband with me because of Covid rules, and no midwife kept me company either, I was alone and in so much pain. They had me on the heart rate monitor and I had to lay flat on my back. Whenever someone came in the room, I begged to change position because it was uncomfortable and I could feel a blockage with baby, but his heart rate was on the low side so they needed to keep me on the monitor, they assured me if there was a problem it would beep and someone would come in. I had no pain medication and was writhing in pain in a bright room on my back. Sometimes someone would come in and use a computer and not make eye contact with me, I felt like an object in an office. Twice someone came and was actually loudly stacking crates of water next to my head. The pain-fear cycle was largely caused by the environment. When I was finally allowed in the Kreisaal, I begged for an epidural, but no doctor was available, so I had to wait another 1.5hrs before she came. In this time, I was also forced on my back despite my protests that my baby was in a bad position. When the doctor came, she saw me for 2 minutes max then said his heart rate is on the low side and we need to do a caesarean immediately to get him out. I asked if we could do an epidural and then if I changed positions it would help, she told me that now it's too late for that. I was very disappointed but the surgery seemed to go ok, and we were lucky enough to get a family room. My pain afterwards was really bad though. I didn't know what to compare it to, because all caesareans are painful which is normal. After 5 days, I couldn't walk to the car when we needed to leave. I asked the nurses if something is wrong and they blamed me for not walking enough during my stay and told me I needed to exercise more for the blood circulation. I kept getting worse, not better at home. After 2 weeks at home, it got to the point that I couldn't even roll over in bed without my husband assisting me and me crying in pain. I started bleeding heavily, had a fever, shivers, and was nauseous/dizzy. We went back to the hospital (waited 6!! hours in the waiting room with fever and a newborn baby!!) for them to see me and tell me I had an internal bacterial infection of my uterus from the surgery. I had to go on an antibiotic drip (they didn't check my Mutterpass and were filling it up with penicillin which I'm allergic to, before I realised and corrected them!) and then was put on strict bed rest and antibiotics for the following 10 days. The place is severely under-staffed, the approaches are not holistic and it resulted in a traumatic birth and post-birth experience.

The medical treatment was good and everything went well with us during the operation. We traveled an extra 650km based on the recommendations. But when it came to the cleanliness, I was absolutely shocked. I think the pictures say more than I could describe here - the pictures were taken after the rooms had been cleaned. I didn't take photos of the bathroom and toilet, but they were definitely an imposition. Dirt and hair everywhere and the toilet looked like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Curtains half torn off, a few dead insects in curtains and on the window sill, dirt on the floor and the televisions have never been washed since they were hung on the wall. Very worrying for a clinic where you have to pay close attention to cleanliness after operations! Stay was in October 2021

My daughter was born via cesarean section on October 31, 2023. I was so scared, crying and shaking. Many thanks to the midwives, doctors, anesthesiologists and operating room nurses, you were so kind and touching and tried everything as a team to calm me down. As a surprise, I had a funny souvenir glued to my scar by the operating room nurses. :-) For the three days of our stay, my husband and I had a separate parents' room, which I recommend to everyone. In short, everyone was very nice and always there quickly when you called. Thanks For the expectant mothers, please also understand the hospital staff. There is always a reason why you have to wait. You are not the only one who is giving birth or needs something.

Amazing staff! Never saw such patient/ professional nurses and Drs like that before! They are so caring and friendly especially in the intensive care unit! They took a very good care of my daughter and wife during their stay at Vivantes hospital.

Just don't go there if you're expecting a child, you'll be sent home too early and you'll make a caesarean section scar incorrectly so that it gets infected and you'll get blood poisoning and lie that your bellows will bend, shitty hospital

My son was born in this hospital one week ago. I appreciate whole team. It was really nice journey for my family. All doctors, midwifes and nurses were wonderful, konwledgeable and friendly. Almost all of them can speak English. I felt really comfortable and safe before, during and after birth. I highly recommend this hospital and I am thankful to all staff.

The doctors and hebammes here are very professional and competent. There was a lot of stress for me coz of last minute action but the doctors and nurses were very calm and kept me informed about the status of my wife and the child.. Though I hardly speak any german they were willing to give us all the information in english and helped me and my wife in this journey tremendously. I highly recommend this center. They have all the required facilities and know how to take care of your child's birth without any hiccups. Due to covid restrictions one can only experience birth of your child but you may not visit or stay with your partner and child unless u got a family zimmer. We didn get one but we hardly found it difficult with the ward we were allocated because hebammes are super helpful.. They take these restrictions very seriously which is good for the health of your child and mum.. Kudos to the team..

I had to spend 32 days on ward 50a before our daughter had to be brought in at 33 weeks. The nurses on the ward were all super nice and shortened my long time with their smiles, kind words and open ears. The doctors also prepared you well for everything, so I had little fear when the caesarean section came spontaneously. Even after that, I received very good support in my recovery. Even though a different hospital was actually planned for the birth, I am glad that I was admitted here. We will definitely come back for the second child. The only negative thing is that the cafeteria here in the building closes at 3 p.m., when visiting hours start.

They don't have doctors! Or even none. 1 pediatrician for 1/6 Berlin! Acute pain in a 2-year-old who does not respond to painkillers is not a reason for examination! (Or at least not within 3.5 hours)

Even one star is too much. We waited for 5 hours with 2 children with fever and diarrhea. And since they still didn't call us and the children were tired, we had to go back. Hope never ever👎🏻 And also waiting rooms was very dirty and stuffy

Simply no - stay away, look for another hospital to enjoy the most wonderful moment in your life. First, the women sit for hours in front of the delivery room, crying and screaming in pain, which has the permanent shape of a sauna and smells of everything that every kitchen produces and it looks more like a bazaar than a room in which expectant mothers spend time. The fathers are kicked out at 8 p.m. and the women are left completely alone with their babies, even after a cesarean section. There is only 1 common room that is always occupied by 20-30 family members, although only 2 are allowed at the same time (really good if you are a grandparent who has flown from abroad and is not even allowed to visit the mother and child with the father. Agreements are not adhered to in any way. Person A says this and person B says something else. After we finally got a room in the delivery room 6 hours after the birth, I was allowed to push my wife's bed with me because there were no staff and had to leave the hospital at 4 a.m. because I wasn't allowed to be with her. Multiple hearing tests are done because there was no documentation. During the first test after birth, the weight was forgotten to be recorded. Blood pressure is checked, although there is nothing about blood pressure in the file. "Oh no, that was the room next door - sorry" When the mother and child were picked up, the fathers were allowed in at 8:30 a.m. At 9 o'clock they said no, that's not possible, sit outside.. YES AND WHERE TO???? The cafeteria doesn't open until 11:30 a.m. and I'm standing here in the hospital hallway with a baby seat and bag! The arrangement was different. No toilet paper. No soap dispensers. And this is not a snapshot. This hospital is just disgusting. It's just scary how the most beautiful moment in life is destroyed by this hospital. Please please dear expectant mothers and fathers - just go somewhere else. I only mean well for you, as sad as that sounds.

My wife gave birth in October, by the C-section. That day the team as friendly but it turned out that it was the only plus. In the ward there was a man/partner of another girl staying with her, talking loudly, he would stay for 3 hours in a row making it crazily inconvenient to breastfeed and change diapers. The most horrible thing was that 12 days after the procedure the suture was still bleeding. As a surgeon myself, I can say that the quality of a surgical procedure provided was very poor. We came to the hospital and had to wait for hours with the baby in the hall, being told that all doctors are busy. No one from the staff could show where the administration is, so if you read it - contact me, this quality of medical care is nor appropriate neither competent.

I had a planned caesarean section in the mother and child center, followed by a four-day stay. In advance, I felt very well looked after and advised in prenatal diagnostics and in the antenatal clinic. Despite an appointment, the waiting times were sometimes very long (2 hours), but both doctors and MFAs were always very friendly and competent. Because of complaints, I reported to the delivery room three days before the scheduled appointment, arrived straight after a short wait and was then admitted, an hour later with the baby in my arms. After the cesarean section there were complications so I had to go back into the operating room and then spend the night in the delivery room being monitored. Apart from the anesthetist, all the midwives, nurses and doctors looked after me very well and lovingly. My partner even had a bed pushed into the delivery room for the night. The next few days in the postpartum ward (we had a family room) also went very well. I always had very good support with both breastfeeding problems and getting out of bed. Many thanks to the entire staff, I would choose to give birth here again at any time.

Nice staff and drs. All tried to make my baby relax and comfy. Thanks to them he was soon to be great and so healthy now. I don’t understand medical terms in german so they kindly explained every details in English. As the baby’s patent, I felt relief.
