I had to get checked because of a unusual feet fracture. After waiting for 5h at the Rettungsstelle, they checked everything and suggested an surgery in four days, but they told me that they also need an MRT which can‘t be done in the hospital. So, I had to stress around whole Berlin for an MRT. Fine, I did it. The surgery should happen on Tuesday, so the preparation would happen on Monday, doctor told me. I go there on Monday and it was a holiday. „Sorry, there‘s nobody here today. Come back tomorrow!“ Okay, fine. Not cool to get around the city with a broken foot. Then, saw the doctor next day. Seemed professional and I was relieved. Few days after, surgery happened and everything was professional as well. But then, on the day I wanted to leave: Doctor and nurse had a fight. Nobody wanted to give me medication and I had to organize the document for leaving by myself, hobble around the whole hospital. What should I say? I didn‘t leave the hospital more disabled than I entered it, which I am sometimes afraid in Berlin or in general. But this is also some kind of a minimum requirement, no? The whole rest was an exhausting experience full of errors and misunderstandings on the hospital side. Maybe it‘s not possible to do it better, because everybody is overworked and there are too many patients. But I can‘t give more than one star, and that one goes to all the people who work there and were friendly and professional. Overall, things can be vastly improved.

Completely overcrowded hospital. The rescue centers in particular are extremely busy. The doctor was beyond condescending and unfriendly. I wouldn't be helped. It was only my family doctor the next day who helped me straight away. Many places in the hospital dirty.

This hospital shows a complete disregard for the patients. Going there is always a defeating and humiliating experience. Do doctors here really think the way patients are currently being treated is okay? Is it ethical? Is it humane? Is it effective? Sad and heartbreaking for patients, their families and for western medicine in general.

Take a look at the internal advertising in the waiting rooms. “One of the best specialist hospitals in the world”. Take a look at the inventory, only 100 years old.

Last night I went to DRK Kliniken Berlin Reinickendorf because I had symptoms of lymph nodes, such a big pain and swollen all left side around my ear. Doctor send me to this Virchow-Klinikum because they have specialist doctors on Saturday night. I arrived to Virchow Klinikum at 23:40. They took my insurance card and told me to be wait. There was only one man in front of me so I thought it's gonna be quick. After 2,5 hours doctor shows up and checked me out. I've been sent to ultrasound. The another doctor didn't even know that I was waiting there 30 min for ultrasound. After all process I've been informed that I have lymph nodes and virus with some infection. (it was already 3am) I've been waiting another 2 hours for results and nobody showed up so I try to call some doctor and asked what is happening and they told me just a moment. Nobody showed up in 10 min. On 2nd time I ring again and one lady said that results gonna be ready in 15 min. After 35 min waiting I ring again and I asked them back for insurance card. She said I understand you!! Wait!! After that doctor came with sleepy face. I could see he was literally sleeping. He brought the papers, wish me good luck and said that I can get free ibuprofen on petrol station. I left hospital 5:45am. Really bad experience and long time for waiting. There was many people which they arrived after me and left before me. Basically I was waiting for prescription 6 hours and left with pain.

The “emergency” room looks dirty and the receptionist guy literally looked like he wanted to kill me as soon as I walked in. He was incredibly rude, blunt and totally dismissive. If he hates his job so much he should quit or be fired. I turned around & left.. I would rather die in the streets then be treated there.

Worst Worst Worst Hospital Ever... I am working in an company so can't go to normal clinics in weekdays, I had Severe cough and one time had blood in it so I went to the emergency. The person(calling him doctor is an insult to the profession) in emergency room was so rude and racist. The worst thing though, he mentioned that I should come to a hospital only if I womit 3 liters of blood. Seriously, should he call himself a doctor? He straight away told he won't speak in english and I should learn German language before coming to a German hospital. There was patients in waiting area for atleast 4-5 hrs just waiting to get diagonosed for normal health issues. I would suggest to not visit this hospital especially for non-EU citizens.

An afternoon in the emergency room at the Charité/Mitte - Virchow Hospital for family reasons. I know it's a bad time right now because some practices are said to be closed. (By the way, all my doctors are open.) But I've been sitting here for 3 hours waiting for my family member to be examined because a life-threatening illness has developed. What I experienced during this time is truly unimaginable. The disturbing feelings that various people have when they visit the emergency room... I feel sorry for the team in the emergency room. Of course, everyone has their own fate that sometimes it doesn't mean well for you. And yes, I'm not a doctor, but has a normal visit to the doctor when you feel unwell become out of fashion or a visit to an accident doctor for a twisted foot? And yes, when the relatives are involved in the examinations, it takes a while, even a whole working day. We want our loved ones to be properly examined and cared for. It doesn't help much if people ask what's new every 20 minutes. A laboratory report takes time, as does CT, MRI and who knows what else. In addition to the many emergency rooms here on campus, there are also normal operations with visiting patients. And yes, if we have to wait outside, it's really stupid, but it can't be helped. It doesn't help much to constantly ask for exceptions or act like a "husband/brother". I would like to thank the emergency room team for their incredible and tireless calm, patience and great understanding! You have my respect and admiration!

I gave birth there and the experience was terrible. The medical staff is seriously inexperienced and there is a total chaos, if something goes wrong. In my case, they didn’t document the medical mistake and tried to cover it up. Some of the midwives have a serious issue with foreigners which makes the post birth stay also unpleasant. In general, you are better off anywhere else, especially if you are an expat.

ENT area is a disaster: We had to cancel an upcoming operation because one of the senior doctors wanted to torture our child again with examinations that had already been carried out. Competence, solutions and empathy towards the child were not present. Update: 3 years later, child has trauma from the incident with the senior doctor.

No star at all from me. A total disaster. I was refused the necessary Emergency Care because I just had an European Health Insurance Card and not being a current patient of the hospital. This in the Emergency Department. No Emergency treatment there apparently unless you book in advance. They did not respond to a mail complaint in the matter either. Avoid them. Better healthcare elsewhere. I found no care elsewhere in time and got problems with my eyesight due to this Hospital.

Very bad experience with this hospital.I was admitted to emergency department today and the emergency doctor directly told me why you came here I am busy and don't have time for you!!!! I was shocked by her way and they keep me 4 hours without doing anything knowing that I was sick and too much tired and it was Sunday and no doctors can be reached outside. Finally I left without being helped by the unfriendly staff.

In October 206, I had umblical hernia and was taken there as an emergency case. (I will not talk about the unfriendly staff because in light oif what I went through, THAT is secondary) Got in by 10 am and as I hadn't eaten, it was a good condition for surgery. According to them, it was going to be a 10 minutes surgery. So I was told I would be sent to the theater by noon. By 5 pm nothing has happened. Then it went on till midnight. Eventually I laid there without food for TWO DAYS!!!!!!!!!!! waiting for surgery. I had drips and water. When I was finally sent into the theater, they could not intubate me. As I heard, my surgery lasted 6 hours because my system was totally disrupted. After the surgery, I had a brain shock. Today, I carry not just a yellow anasthesia certificate but ADDITIONALLY have a GORY scar on my navel which nobody believes was done by a surgeon in Germnay. [I heard that Iwas cut up by an intern] The scar is so gory that a lover once ran away when I took of my clothes... and this is not a joke! Hopefully the lover will read this some day. In any case, 8 WEEKS later, I had to go back for another surgery and I specifically told them that no intern should touch me. Luckily on that occassion, they could intubate me and the two hours surgery actually lasted 2 hours. I am glad to be alive today! Nobody likes hospitals.

I recently gave birth to twins and was a positive experience. There can be long wait times for appointments, but have that in most hospitals. The staff was always competent and when I came a few times for problems before the birth was seen promptly and explained what was happening. For my actual labor it was great to have such a competent team assisting me and it went as smooth as possible.

We were in the emergency room at this hospital the other day. The lady at the reception/office was so disrespectful! She registered us for a completely wrong department, she only told me neck or shoulders after I had to ask her the fifth time how long we should wait. She simply exposed me because I said that we had to go to the neurologist and that we weren't here for shoulder or other pain. After waiting unsuccessfully in the emergency room for 10.5 hours in pain, we just went home. That was a disgrace.

Absolutely horrendous place. There is no care, you are left to wait and even so, skipped at times in queues. Waited for over 5 hours and have yet to be seen by a doctor. Only vending machine is broken and there are no other places for food or anything.

(Translated by Google) The carers were (80%) neglected, cheeky and arrogant. Gossip audibly in the corridor. But there were also nice ones. The doctors are all cool guys, energetic demeanors and, despite their higher level of education, always on the same level as me. Good treatment and education. The clinic could use some investment in the brutally arrogant exterior walls that you can see from the room. The technology is also extremely outdated, some of the televisions from the 20th century do not work.

Is it normal for a specialist Ophthalmology clinic to ask for a pre-payment of 500 Euros before even seeing an international patient for an acute eye condition? The lovely recptionist is not to be faulted. I am sure she was doing her job, but such a charge without a single triage nurse even taking a history.... completely unheard of and entirely unethical. Thankfully, I found a private Ophthalmologist who saw and treated me for a nominal charge.

This is my second time here out of necessity. Nothing has changed in 3/4 years. As a patient you learn little, even when asked. Operations are scheduled, but as a patient you only find out when there is no breakfast. Doctor's visits aren't every day either, at least I didn't always see the doctor. But it was logged with time. The surgery appointment is now the second time during this stay. The doctors can be good, but the communication just doesn't work. Neither with each other, nor in the ward area and certainly not with the patients. I'd rather go somewhere else. But kudos to the sisters. They are very diligent and try everything for the patient.

The ITS advertises that you can visit your relatives at any time, but you can come at any time you want, you sit in front of the door like an idiot and they leave you waiting outside for an hour or more. That's all the time I'm wasting with a seriously ill man.

(Translated by Google) Treatment in the emergency room went well. Always friendly and helpful doctors and nurses. Of course there are some shortcomings, but this is due to Germany's health system. Deficiencies are: - Overcrowded emergency room - Waiting period - understaffing - Furniture partly outdated Tip to the hospital management: Threaten people who pollute Mittelallee and do not behave appropriately with consistent measures! You would thereby improve the lives of many patients. Thank you. (Original) Behandlung in der Notaufnahme lief gut ab. Stets freundliche und hilfsbereite Ärzte und Krankenschwestern. (Translated by Google) Had eye surgery there several weeks ago. Since then everything has gotten worse. At the beginning it was said that it would take a few days. Then it was a couple of weeks. Now the months are approaching and seeing is just as bad as it was at the beginning. Since they do not want to admit a mistake, they unfortunately do nothing. Lawsuits won't do anything, but I'll try so that maybe more will be done. I am now there very often to check and what you hear in the waiting room only confirms my assumption that this is a very bad eye clinic. In any case, I will never go there again, if that ever gets all right. Nobody there really cares about the problems that have arisen after the operation. I can only advise everyone never to have their eyes operated there.

Doctors are Amazing, but there are multiple issues I wish if management would improve, such as: Having more accurate appointments ( when I have an appointment at 9-11 AM) I finish at around 5 PM, hence it can be done literally in 15 minutes. 2. Building 4, not good managed, people are waiting in Sprechstunde in every corner just trying to enter the room. 3. They have only specific days for each something, which is causing all people having common issues to wait a lot more longer than expected

If there would be MINUS stars I would give them all of them. The only reason why you see one star is because otherwise I couldn't post Let me explain why: On the 20th of December 2018, I went to the Charite Virchow clinic to get a second opinion about a 1 cm hernia that was diagnosed by Dr.med. Babble in the Franziskus Krankenhaus Berlin. It is at the Charite Hospital where Dr. Axel Winter, who works there as a hernia specialist convinced me that I would urgently need hernia surgery with a TAPP net (later I found out that these nets should be only used for bigger hernias - normally the tissue is just stitched together after the hernia removal). After giving my trust and going through the operative procedure my body and belly showed about half a year after the operation pain and nerve wrecking symptoms. Dr Axel Winter of members of the operation team that operated me (Dr.med.Linda Feldbrügge and Anke Schönherr) NEVER checked on me after the operation and I NEVER GOT ANY TREATMENT PROCEDURE DOCUMENTATION ABOUT THE OPERATION MADE ON ME. 3 TIMES I made my way to the hospital in his patient hearing hours to consult the doctor that treated. NEVER DID HE EITHER SHOW UP OR CONTACTED ME as as a result of me speaking to some of his Dr.colleagues in the Charite Virchow. HE RATHER LEFT ME BEING A MISTREATED PATIENT WITH TORTURING SYMPTOMS WHICH WERE: -WAKING UP EVERY MORNING WITH A NAUSEA -STRESSFUL BELLY -STRONG LOWER BELLY PAINS -STRONG UPPER BELLY PAINS -NERVE SPASMS AND MUSCLE JERKS AT DIFFERENT BODY REGIONS -BELLY BURPING -HEADACHES -SLEEPLESSNESS -ETC. Long story short: After 3.5 years so almost 4 years of running from doctor to doctor to treat my belly pains and other eventually resulting symptoms (internist etc. because these TAPP nets can have detrimental issues on your nerves and muscles). Ultimately I ended up visiting about or more than 34 doctors in a timeframe of about 4 years with only very few diagnosis that made sense. I made the choice to go through the explantaion operation of the TAPP net. Unfortunately the doctor (Dr.Koch in Cottbus) that is with one of the very best in his field to explant sucht nets couldn't remove it because the TAPP net itself already connected itself with my nerve tissue. Ultimately he found that the net had wondered to partly block and injure my gut organ and leaving me with scar tissue. Eventually he could recorrect the position of the TAPP net. After all Im still dealing with nerve irritations and various disturbing symptoms. Hopefully all these disturbing symptoms will stopp soon after the next procedures of treatment. NOW JUST THINK OF TORTURED ENERGY LEVELS AND THE ON AND OFFS THAT I HAD TO GO THROUGH PHYSICALLY AND MENTALLY BECAUSE OF THIS ! IM GOING TO SUE THE CHARITE VIRCHOW CLINIC (DR. AXEL KOCH) FOR ALL THE PAIN AND SUFFERING THEY UNTIL THIS DAY BROUGHT ME THROUGH. THE WAY I WAS TREATED AFTER THE OPERATION WAS BEYOND AWFUL AND EVIL. IF YOU LOVE YOUR FAMILY AND PEOPLE THAT REALLY NEED HEALTH ADVISE FROM PROFESSIONAL DOCTORS THAT ARE MOTIVATED TO HELP AND HEAL PEOPLE THEN AVOID THIS HOSPITAL BY ANY MEANS.

I’m doing my treatment here (asthma) and I am very happy to have this chance of having an amazing treatment at this hospital. I have been here a couple of times and they are very attentive and I feel very well taken care of. Every single person, from the secretary to the doctors have treated me very well and I cannot thank them enough. Congratulations! Empathic and effective!!! Thank you every one at Infektiologie und Pneumologie Asthmapoliklinik, specially Ms. Izairi for her kindness. Very beautiful campus as well. :)

I have a liver transplant and have been at Charite Virchow multiple times, at several different units for different things. This is a summary for people not so familiar with the German hospital and healthcare system: The most important thing to know is that the medical expertise you find here is excellent. I come from Sweden and had 15 years or experience from Swedish university hospitals, but my impression is that the doctors here are even more up-to-date with the latest medical studies etc. If you have a severe and complicated health condition, be grateful if you can be treated at the Charite. If you however are one of the lucky ones who just needs to visit a hospital for more simple things and could just as well go somewhere else - charite virchow is not a charming place. The nurses are underpayed and stressed, the food is really the worst, many of the staff can be really rude, the German bureaucracy system with Überweisungsschein etc is kafkaesque and the building itself is depressing and in need of a renovation. This is how you survive several days at this hospital: Bring your own pillow (those here are made of paper and horrible to try to sleep on after a few days). Say you are vegetarian even if you are not because then you can at least avoid the horrible wurst for breakfast. Bring extra food yourself. Bring earplugs for the night. Don't expect to be able to communicate in English with anyone except the doctors. The toilets in the corridor are often fresher than the ones by the rooms. Good luck.

One star is really too much for this hospital! I went to the hospital on February 21, 2024 with a ruptured bladder. I had regular contractions the next day and that was also mentioned. On February 23, 2024 the contractions became stronger and I said that I had strong contractions and that they should please examine me! They didn't do that. I was supposed to run a lot so I went running downstairs with my husband. Suddenly, while running, a lot of amniotic fluid leaked out. So we went straight back up and told the lady from ward 33 that I was losing a lot of amniotic fluid. Her answer was: Great, great! (Noted she could hardly speak German) at the same moment I went into the room I lost a lot of blood downstairs that I called through the ward I was bleeding to death something was wrong! The doctors came straight away and examined me. The little one had no more amniotic fluid, I was 9 cm open and the little one was lying across. An emergency cesarean section was performed immediately, which of course could have been prevented if they had examined me. 2 nights after the birth I got a high fever, chills and body aches. They measured my fever with something like that on my forehead. It showed no fever, but since I was so warm I took the normal thermometer and measured my own temperature, see there 38.3 I then let you know and blood was taken and swabs were taken. End of the song HOSPITAL GERMS! WHAT LEADED TO BACTERIA IN THE BLOOD! I'm still in ward 38 and I was promised a single room because of course the whole situation isn't my fault! I've been lying here for 3 weeks and I keep getting new bedmates, either crying babies or women who have no babies and don't show any consideration! This hospital had told me I was at the top of the list for a room alone! Apparently nothing is released. Yesterday I found out by chance that my old bedmate had moved into a single room. This hospital just wants to make money and doesn't care about the needs of the patients! I WAS TOLD IF I WAS WITH THIS GERM OR I WOULD HAVE DIED FROM BACTERIA IN THE BLOOD! SO IF YOU CARE ABOUT THEIR BABY'S LIFE AND THEIR OWN SHOULD AVOID THIS HOSPITAL! THE HYGIENE LEAVES A LOT TO BE DESIRED! Germany has money for everything, it just flows into the bottled countries!

"Charité offers first-class medical care in a clean and friendly environment. Although there are no luxurious facilities, the facility is well maintained and provides a feeling of comfort and safety. The doctors and staff are extremely professional, helpful and always strive to "To provide patients with the best possible service. Their friendliness and care help patients feel welcome and well cared for. Overall, I can highly recommend the clinic to anyone looking for high quality medical treatment in a pleasant atmosphere."

This one star is also too much. The doctors are very unfriendly and won't let you see the child. Nurses are sometimes friendly sometimes unfriendly it depends. Please do not bring your children and family to this hospital. It's a shame it doesn't work at all 😡😡😡😡😡😡

(Translated by Google) Do NOT stick to agreements, family is put off for months and the promised call many weeks ago does not come back either. Always answering machine, you ask for a call back and still nothing comes. My sponsored child is worse off and so another clinic is visited. If you don't feel like it, then you could have said it right away and not requested the documents, made big promises and then dropped them. But when you read the movements it's no wonder !!!

(Translated by Google) Great hospital! This hospital is great. I have severe heart disease (heart failure), the doctors treated me very well and I even had treatment by the chief physician. The waiting times are good, it just takes as long as it takes with the others. Of course you have to wait a bit with little things, but it's ok. The rooms were good, you are NOT on a HOLIDAY. SUPER DOCTORS (Original) Super Krankenhaus !

(Translated by Google) Charité Campus Virchow is a large hospital. There are many different disciplines here. From the middle avenue, other streets go off and there are already stations. The label has already become better. I think inside the houses it is not so good. So far everyone has been nice and friendly to questions. But the staff is often stressed and in a hurry. It should not be a pity with such a company. (Original) Charité Campus Virchow ist ein großes Krankenhaus. Hier gibt es sehr viel verschiedene Disziplinen. I've given a birth to my second baby here. My first delivery was extremely traumatic (in another hospital), and I was dreading what will happen this time. But, everything and everyone were amazing! Especially anesthesiologist and nurses!!

This hospital is like most hospitals, an authoritarian place with rude and overworked staff who have been trained in a system that doesn't provide any preventive care and doesn't understand health holistically. Though this is obviously a systemic issue, each and every person deciding to partake in that culture (by coming to work here every day) is responsible for the consequences this has on our society. Medical professionals fail to see that their job is a social and not just a medical one. If you don't want to treat HUMANS, don't become a medical professional please.

I have a severe anxiety disorder and a fear of going to the doctor due to growing up in a country with bad healthcare. I was pleasantly surprised by how nice and caring all the doctors and nurses I met here were. They accommodated my anxiety and my language barrier and made me feel at ease. I was in and out much faster than I expected. The driveway/parking lot system is absolute chaos though and makes you feel like you cannot ever leave.🫣

Was spricht denn dagegen: ,,Blutabnahme ... Biopsie... 🤬🤬🤬

My experience at the Children Emergency Department was so horrible. The service is very slow I spent 8 hours of my time without any substantial assistance and I had to leave to look for other convenient options. Parents were all over waiting for examination of their children by 1 ( one) invincible doctor. It was hard to witness children helplessly waiting for their turn to reach. The language was another challenge. It’s so surprising to see the Biggest Hospital in Europe operate an Emergency Section in such a manner. One star is so generous of me . Emergency Centre should run in a more efficient manner without subjecting patients to a long painful wait. Work on this crucial recommendation.

The rescue center gets my five stars because I came in with a dangerous physical injury. The nurse at the rescue center was so accommodating and really very friendly. Dr. Fröhlich gets twice as many stars from me, thank you so much for stitching up my wound so well. They were very nice and friendly to me. Unfortunately the ward only gets one death, I had to stay there for 2 days, the specialist staff and ward doctor were not very attentive and unfortunately only did the bare minimum! I think a lot can still be changed, including that patients with a fate should be given more attention😔

Waited over 3 hours despite an appointment and that as a pregnant woman. Beforehand, we had to travel an hour and a half by public transport. When I asked the nurse how long it would take, she told me they were next, that was an hour ago too. What kind of approach is that and trust is lost when you are coldly lied to. You should rethink your appointment management and design it better. It's all a matter of organization.

Some time ago, due to a very serious traffic accident, I was in surgery on St. 10 for almost 2 weeks due to polytrauma! Admission was through the emergency room Very good !!! There is no objection to the medical treatment! However, the further nursing treatment on the ward clearly left something to be desired!!! Pastoral staff not very sensitive and snippy!!!!! The nursing management could not be involved!! I found this to be a complete failure and lack of interest! I was sometimes treated very unfriendly and impolite, especially by a young nurse who reacted very rudely to the night bell, which was really necessary!!! He doesn't give the impression that he's the right one had chosen a career, unfortunately Nevertheless, I wish that he never comes to depend on me for such nursing staff!!!
