Showers, changing rooms and sauna areas are an imposition. Dust, dirt and shabby towels everywhere. Wellness area pretty disgusting. The showers only partially work. You guys are really expensive. Behave like this and make sure your shop is clean and tidy. (And try not to constantly have bad reviews deleted. That doesn't solve your problems in the club at all.)

Fraudulent business. I'm beyond disappointed. I signed up online for their 30 days free campaign in august. My first time there they charged me 50 euro card deposit and told me to pick up the card next time. But my card was never ready, they could never find me in the system and I was never able to use the gym. Since august I called them so many times, sent emails and went there to talk in person. I presented the payment receipt and the picture of the form I filled there, signed by their employee. Still I cannot get back the 50 euro I paid for nothing. Every time I try to speak to team they tell me they cannot find me in the system and treated me very unprofessionally. Their manager had a rude tone. I explained everything from the scratch to every person I talked to and still got no results. Moreover, the central Holmes Place office charged me around 70euro for some online training that I never used or registered for.

Good place, but the staff is absolutely indifferent weather you are a new client, came to trial visit, or take a rest in a Ruheraum. At least they could show and tell where is a spa zone, yoga hall or whatever. Also it would be nice to teach your cleaning team stay quiet while there are other people taking rest. There is a plus though- the day visit it’s only 17 instead of 29, for non operating pool reason. The rest I would say is fantastic!

Worst service ever! Rude Staff! Avoid this place by all means. I scheduled a “probetag” on-line, went to the club and the most unbelievably rude person said I had to call and come another day. He would not let me even talk to the other receptionists or make questions! How come, in 2021 at the capital of Germany, in a “premium” fitness club there’s such a horrible service? I’ll make sure every person I know don’t get even close to this place.

Overpriced , crowded , sometimes i don’t feel safe because of some members in the Gym (aggression) and Sauna (harassment). The Trainers feel sometimes helpless because of the attitudes of some Guests. The gym is in need for security staff. It needs minimum 3 to 4 weeks to get one of the machines fixed . So i had to use alternative exercises that i am not convenient with. The Gym is Lack of of some equipments like seated calf Raise machine and Standing calf machine . When i raised my concerns to the one of the Trainers, he advised me to find another gym because he was helpless.

In my opinion, the numerous collaborations have made it very crowded and dirty. So I canceled my membership after many years. Apparently many negative reviews are warned and deleted by a lawyer - that could perhaps explain the surprisingly good overall rating on Google. :)

If you want to use cardio machines and do yoga classes this is a fantastic gym. The weights room has become crowded and with an unpleasant energy. There are only 2 stations for freeweight squats (3 if you count the one in the main central area) and 3 benches for freeweights, which seems bizarrely under-equipped in such an expensive gym. I have no idea why there are hundreds of unused exercise bikes and running machines and only 3 weights benches. It makes zero sense. The last 3 times I came I couldn't get a bench at all and last time waited for 20 mins standing next to the benches, before a guy came and put his towel down on a free one when it became free and just shrugged when I made it clear I had been waiting. There is an increasingly aggro, bullying energy with people hogging multiple bits of equipment with their towels while just standing shouting on their phones. If you want to use weights I would avoid this gym. If you just cardio machines, free towels and a fancy sauna, go for it...

Mind blown and furious by my current situation in this club. Every month I get blocked from the gym, they make me sign every damn month a new SEPA authorization. They never seem to organize their payment system and the sale manager had the arrogance to say that “maybe there was no funds in my account”, which was not the case whatsoever and I found offensive and prejudiced that they make this assumption when it’s THEIR systems’ problem and not my account problem. Yesterday I had to pay at once 2 months, and the sum was more than 200 euros. Today I received a note from the bank that they are taking more 96 and I have no idea why. I am shocked and feeling completely insecure to have given my SEPA authorization and made a contract with a company that is completely unorganized with their payment system, does not take accountability and when I try to solve with the desk staff, some of them are absolutely rude and unapologetic.

Dishonest scam artists. They told me the trial was a one-off payment of 20 euros... and then signed me up to a 1200 euro plus membership contract with fine print, even after telling me in person the trial does not automatically renew. Absolute cheats! Also their gym facilities are pretty average: They have way too many cardio machines and only a couple of bench presses, and only a single assisted pull-up machine. Be very careful with any gyms in Berlin; never sign up to a gym directly, use a service like Urban Sports instead. Update: Their response is totally misleading. I saw no "clear reference" in the trial signup form. Furthermore, I clarified with a member of their staff upon beginning my trial that I would not be charged automatically after the trial. Then, upon receiving their first unexpected 183€ direct debit, I emailed them immediately to discuss the situation and I received a very condescending and unhelpful reply over a week later, saying it would be "unfair" to allow me to cancel the membership that I didn't knowingly sign up for or ever use.

Edit after some time: it is getting even worse as of June 2023: If you want to risk getting a heart attack while training with 30 degrees Celcius, this is the place because now they shut down the air conditioning (claiming that it is broken) during the only time when Berlin experiences high temperatures. This is not a premium club and it is not healthy or safe to train here anymore. Ps. The pool is now closed for several months. Old review: Getting worse and worse, it's unstoppable :) It is now almost always packed and crowded in a way that makes it difficult to do your exercises. Even in normally relaxed hours like early afternoon you have to wait for weights, machines, showers, and changing rooms. It's always packed and almost always dirty and smelly. Plus, there is mold in the showers, a nice bonus.

I have been a member of HP since 2017 and it's very clear the club has gotten worse throughout the years, specially after the pandemic. Also, constantly renewing, so pool/ sauna areas closed. Besides the hygiene and all of the other matters already mentioned on other reviews my main problems with HP is communication and a big break of trust. I asked to have the Body Scan cancelled from my contract as soon as I found out that I could do that (summer 2022), as I don't need to pay someone to tell me I am stressed and need to train more... The club kept charging me for those, so I decided to pay for the membership in person at the reception counter instead of having it debted from my account. After a brief pause last year, I had to have the whole discussion again as the reception staff could not find the cancellation info on my member account. Also, the payments simply started to be debted from my account plus, surprise: the price for the Body Scan, which I have asked to stop 2 years prior. I have asked HP to cancel my SEPA last month and have received confirmation of the doing but still HP has taken money from my account twice. Isn't that illegal? ++ 27.02.23: None of the Body Bikes Smart are working since more than a month now. No info on when it will be working again. Female finnish sauna is not working since the 19th and it won't work for the next two weeks. Female members are not entitled to an discount for the inconvenience, as "mixed sauna is working". Manager will say "you're b*tchy/ b*tching" if you know your rights and threatens to 'kick you out" if you continue to make present to the club all the things that are not working. They are very good at mentioning "the contract" whenever suits them, but all of a sudden forget about it when it's their time to follow the agreement. Very lame customer service.

Was there for the free “3-day pass” promotion to get an impression of the studio. First of all, on the positive side: 1) The studio manager was very nice and dedicated. 2) The devices are of good quality. 3) You can borrow towels free of charge. 4) The sauna is relatively large On the negative side: 1) There is far too little equipment for some muscle groups 2) The free weight area is relatively small 3) The showers and the entire wellness area need renovation. On the door of the steam bath there is a serious message that "sexual acts are prohibited in the steam bath"; Just the thought of the fact that such activities obviously took place there took away my desire to go in there. 4) There is a bar where you can order shakes and food, but since there are no employees there, it doesn't seem inviting at all. 5) The studio feels like it's nothing half and nothing whole: There are too many machines and weights as well as the general vibe missing for serious bodybuilding and the wellness area is too rocky for a wellness experience and the smell in the air there doesn't put you in the mood either. There are actually other points that I could criticize, but I'm not here to badmouth the studio, but rather to express constructive criticism. Overall, the experience is not worth €85 per month to ME and I will continue to look for alternatives. Don't sign up for a membership at Holmes Place! You will regret it. I had an injury and I am not able to workout anymore. But they didn't care and still charging me. Also you should know that the pool is most of the time to crowded! I have twice counted over 25 people. Same in the Sauna! Old people sitting super close next to each other naked! No space at all! Every time! Poor management and unfriendly employees make the place even more unpleasant . To be honest, if you sign up for this you will regret it badly. There are too many members at this place.

This is actually not something i would do for a business, giving them 1 star and publicly complain about the situation I am in. Well, I haven’t seen any business who would do everything to NOT talk to their customers. Especially if they are operating in service sector. I wrote numerous numbers of complaints, emails and filled up feedback forms. No replies or one ignorant reply I have got in return. ( I wrote a request of immediate cancellation letter with 12 bullet points why the service is bad and why I don’t want to pay anymore, the reply was, yes ok we will cancel your membership in December- in literally 11 months time) The service is not premium ! It is dirty, it is faulty- there is always problem with towels, toilets, pool, equipment, etc. With the recent increase I am paying almost 100 euro for a month for a service which any gym would easily provide, anywhere in the world. I have been living in few countries all around the world, so i know, it is not my first time being a gym member. The customer service appalling, apparently not enough staff but lots of tickets. Save up your money and go to a normal gym. The service is not premium here at all. I can write all my complaints in details and even have photo proofs, however I am sick of trying to communicate with Holmes Place.

Ok gym but abhorrent customer service. They have refused to fix their own mistake in payment methods for two months now, don’t reply to emails for weeks on end, and don’t confirm their own information that they give over the phone. Avoid at all costs - any other gym will be better organized and cause you less bureaucratic stress.

Generally I am happy, but I do have to complain that the normal Aufguss sessions have ended. There must be a way to have weekly Aufgus again for everyone. Offering some skin peelings in place of the Aufguss with the stones is really weak. The large sauna yesterday was not working for like an hour. It was freezing in the general Sauna area. I am dropping a star because all I've been told is vague resolutions and incredibly I learned the women have their own Aufguss sessions while everyone else has to deal with broken saunas and corporate management stalling to fix things. Clearly this is a management issue.

Avoid this business by all means. First, it's way overpriced, you can get whatever they have in other gyms like John Reed for half the price and I'm not exaggerating you can ask around. The only extra feature they have is class and the pool which doesn't justify the very high prices. Second, the staff there are the most unprofessional people I've ever dealt with. They have a Paul Blart kind of guy who walks in the gym for the sole purpose of terrifying the members and shouting at them. The management asking members now to pay money for the months they were closed. So, in summary, avoid this business by all means so we don't encourage them to continue this behavior.

I’m an Urban Sports Club M member. Their partner STORM had a misconfiguration which allowed me to check in for “Free Training Fitness”. Then they told me I can’t use the fitness section because it was STORM. I told them that Urban Sports Club does not let me cancel check ins in such a short notice. I requested for them to make an exception this time, because as a customer it is entirely possible to read “Free Training Fitness” as an entry to Holmes Place, and I am not liable for configuration error made by Holmes Place’s partners. Note that STORM only has slotted sessions in a room, and that does not count as free training. I was then willing to pay the 29 EUR daily fee, but they rejected my entrance without reason, even though their colleague offered me at the beginning. This gym is slowly falling apart. I used to really like it. The pool has been closed for months with no real plan of when it will come back. The air conditioner is broken and it will take 4 weeks to get repaired (???). 4 weeks is how long it takes a built a whole house, I think they are trying to save money by keeping it off. I’ve been coming here for a couple years and it’s really getting really bad.

The gym and classes are ok, but the showers definitely need to be renovated. Many don't work well, there's limescale and rot everywhere, including in the shower gel dispensers (when one was open). Super dirty under the sauna benches and the sauna heater. Unfortunately, sauna often smells unpleasant :( 20 years ago Holmes Place was once considered luxurious, today well...

Yesterday I was alone in the women's sauna area and an employee came running through. When asked, he said there were no restrictions for male employees... so women, be careful, a save space is something completely different. In fact, the majority of the saunas had failed, as had many of the machines. But once they're all running, it's a good studio.

Courses are decent, general area is fine and clean. Cleanliness in the showers however is not ok. There is mould and the tiles of the showers are already stained badly. This could easily have been prevented by simply changing the silicone. The big Sauna is disgusting and full of grime, the sauna for woman is nice and clean. I am giving only 2 stars because they are renting out the pool to training groups who are not members and maybe also to schools ?. I am just guessing, because the training people seemed to be teenagers last time. So just as a warning, you will be paying way more than you pay for at a gym with no pool, but you won't be able to use the pool very often. Also the external courses are not visible on the general course plan. So you look at it and think the pool is free, but it is full of external groups. Very hard to plan anything that way.

I had a trial day at the Holmes place in Neukölln and accidentally lost my necklace there. At first they were really friendly telling me that they will search for it. One day later I called, came again and suddenly no one could help me anymore. They did not care at all about finding my necklace. The customer support is a huge failure especially when having skyrocketing prices like they have. I would not recommend this gym to anyone! Go somewhere else, where you get something for your money!

This place is literally the worst, I would never consider being a member here! As you can see the reviews below; they keep advertising misleading 'free' trial or test offers that subsequently trap you into subscriptions to purchase. I scheduled a trial month at the end of July, they sent me the confirmation and everything and 2 days later I went over there after 30mins ride with my heavy sports bag, the incredibly rude young lad at the desk- with zero intention of help- told me “the offer’s expired but they do have another offer" which implies me buying a month membership which I replied “well, if that’s the case, I should still be good because I made my reservation in July anyway” 😀 Then he refused to answer any of my questions i.e. “why didn't any of you let me know then?” Looking at back and seeing other visitors' comments; it’s clearly a trap they do to lots of people. So be aware and stay away from this place. And to the club managers, this is the worst form of marketing, even though I’m actively looking for a gym, I’d never ever subscribe to your club after this experience, you could do way better.

They stole a year of membership fees after I clearly cancelled it. Wasn't in the country that year so I had no idea they were leeching my German account. Took me months and legal threats to reach an "agreement". I only reccomend this gym if you don't mind going through that kind of horrible experience.

Very clean and very well equipped (but not perfect either, e.g. there's no bench with leg holders where you can change the angle for doing sit-ups?? Seriously??) but my biggest issue with this place is the yoga classes, so far I've done 4 and 2 of them have been with an eastern european lady (and nothing at all against eastern europeans I'm just specifying it so maybe they can identify her) who is really not good at instructing yoga classes, they would not allow an instructor as bad as this at American Fitness next door so here, where people are paying 3 times as much?? And also the classes have too many people, acoustics are bad so you cant understand what the instructor is saying, and there aren't enough yoga mats and blocks for everyone. And then they wonder why I'm staying at USC rather than switch to a Holmes Place membership. Maybe if you had decent yoga classes I would consider it! Also the people who come here are often not very friendly, I guess the management has little control over that, but it definitely affects the vibe. E.g. when you go into the sauna and say hello literally no one says back hello like in most gyms in Berlin. Finally three more small complaints about the sauna - 1) it's too small (often completely full) 2) it's usually completely full of dirty towels left by the members and there's no place to hang your own towel. And 3) the toilets are way too far, you have to walk like 5 minutes each way to take a pee between sauna rounds! Most of these problems do not exist at American Fitness, a gym that costs about 40% as much, so its not really what you want from a "premium" gym is it... Update: now they're not even answering their phone and the online booking system isn't letting me book, so it's impossible to book classes. Taking from 3 stars to 1, things just keep getting worse here.

I got a membership and I'm already regretting it... I was there today to pick up my card.. it doesn't look like a studio that costs €100 a month, I feel ripped off. There are drug addicts in front of the entrance and the clientele that goes there is not what I expected... I will make use of my 14 day right of withdrawal if possible. I definitely don't feel comfortable there. I was hoping to find a studio that would serve an upscale clientele with more investment, but unfortunately I'm wrong here

Awful service I’ve been threatened by a very rude employee called Cem. I completely forgot to put my towel on the box when leaving and he accused me to want to steal it. He screamed and sad awful stuff. I have everything recorded on video. Last week I had a similar experience with him when he started screaming and getting everyone out of the gym 15 minutes before the closing (Sunday at 8.45pm) I just don’t feel comfortable neither safe training here with this kind of people working there. Wenn sie wegfallen würde, würde ich bestimmt andere Clubs in Erwägung ziehen - zumal Holmes Place außerhalb des Pools verstärkt in Richtung Virtual Kurse geht, was für mich gar nicht zu einem Premium-Club mit Premium-Preise passt.

I have been a member since years and this used to be my favourite gym in Germany, sadly I won't be extending my contract once it expires again, as the service and overall experience doesn't justify the price anymore. Should they improve in the future I will gladly return, however, the current trends and attitudes do not make me too optimistic.

Fine place, not too clean, machines-inventory not new but overall fine. Often tons of dirty towels in the men's dressing room. Also they are quite dirty and not the best way organized, with some broken furniture. Without any notification the swimming pool was closed for the renovation. Rowing machines were broken for weeks. Very Good sauna, but not perfect, with an option to chill outside. You can find paper cups once per 10 visits. 3 out of 5, definitely overpriced, definitely not a premium club

I had a one week pass to go to any Holmes Place and they mentioned to me that it’s not valid for this location! I then said it says on the pass that it’s for any location and then they allowed me for a one day access only! Please don’t mislead your potential customers

Mixed review. Objectively - a great gym. Clean and high quality facility. What’s not so great - the predatory promotional deals for short term that ask you not to auto continue - on a 2 year membership if you don’t speak up. Buyers beware. But if you were in town long term would be worth it.

I would never recommend it. Not because of the gym itself necessarily, but because of the lack of transparency and communication as well as poor customer service and sneaky contracts. I have charges that make absolutely no sense and no one ever told me. The first one was a SURPRISE 25 euros every 6 months for a body evaluation I never did, and the customer service said I signed up to it, which I didn't, and I couldn't cancel. The second is the SURPRISE towel charge which in itself is wrong. The environmental impact of giving towels to everyone is huge and I never take them because I take my own, still, I need to pay for it. Now I got another SURPRISE charge, actually an increase in the monthly fee, which I have no option to say no. Beyond that, I asked if I could change from the Ostkreuz gym to the Neukolln one was I moved homes and it would be easier for me, and they said no problem. I asked many times if there were extra charges or any change in the contract, the answer was NO. Now I got the information that my contract was renewed for one more year since I changed the location. Which is OUTRAGES as I asked and NO ONE told me. It gives me so much grudge that it ruined the experience for me. Really, the worst contract I've ever signed.

Very solid gym, good equipment, GREAT sauna /steam room. The sauna steam room is, in my opinion, one of the best I've ever experienced at a gym. The free weights can get a bit crowded during peak hours - but that's typical for every gym I've ever been a member of. The classes are all in German, but it looks like a comprehensive selection. The staff speak English and are very helpful - it is relatively expensive, but I think you do get what you pay for. I was a huge fan of Holmes Place Neue Welt, it was my favorite gym in the whole Berlin and I was a member for many years. The service has gone down and Holmes Place Neue Welt is not anymore worth the price of its subscription. All the classes are virtual now...why would I pay for one of the most expensive gyms in Berlin to follow classes on a screen like I could do at home on YouTube? It makes no sense. If the virtual classes were an addiction, it would have been great, but they completely cut the classes with all the great teachers there were before and the amazing courses that were making the cost of the subscription worth. Not to talk about how the new management is not nice at all. Ulrike is not friendly and the staff at the counter has no clue about anything. Every time I ask for an information, the answer is "I don't know". Again, this comment is coming from someone that absolutely LOVED Holmes Place Neue Welt before.. Lovely gym just outside the park. On the top floor of a building. Really lovely dance studio, gym equipment, sauna and terrace. Equipped with showers and the staff gives you a towel on entrance if you need. This one though, is full of really really awful staff (actually really just one big dude, I think he is security), I haven't been treated worst then the amount of threats I got from just one guy. He shouts at people to wear masks, while he does not wear his own, or if he does with the nose out, like we should be listening and he is above the rule? He seems to intentionally have no name tag, this so he can likely roam free and nobody can submit a complaint. While he has no name tag, he still required me to have a profile picture, because I am at Ostkreuz they apparantly couldn't upload it (is it the year 2020 at Holmes Place?) I couldnt provide him any other identification at that moment, so he sent me away. I called Ostkreuz this evening (and again was treated nicely), I will for certain make this a case against him, he seems really the most awful person around. As I can tell from other reviews, more people have had issues with this man. Other then that, great swimming pool which I use daily, luckily it got that, but that is not changing any of the rating, I'd like to be treated with a bit of respect.

Holmes Place Neue Welt is a small paradise Island in the sky and only a step away from the metropolis Neukölln. It has everything for your body and mind to fit your lifestyle and a café offering essential nutrients. I always see the same caring/long term trainers and office staff and l am a Member for over 10 years and it just gets better! Go on and treat yourself!

Noone replied to the email with my IBAN ehich is ehat they told me to do from the desk. Obviously, they could manage these sort of things better. They charge my credit card... I love it here. Holmes Place Neue Welt is an oasis in Neukölln with huge windows and a sauna terrace facing the trees of Hasenheide. The crowd is really pleasant because it’s a mix of all age groups and fitness levels. The locker rooms are really pleasant with floor heating and complimentary shower gel/shampoo/body lotion that smell really nice. Some of the classes are among my favourites that I’ve ever taken anywhere, particularly those by slightly older female instructors because they create a great community vibe. All the equipment is in good working order and there is plenty of space for everyone to do their thing, including a women’s only area and two women’s only saunas. The guys at the front desk are exceptionally friendly and helpful, but customer service via phone or email can be quite difficult. Other suggestions for improvement: cleaning needs to ne stepped up, there are often dust bunnies under the locker room benches so if you drop anything it immediately needs to be washed. And the shower intervals are really way too short these days.

If there were a few additions to the lower body equipment such as new machines for hack squats, a better hip thrust machine, calf machine and so on it would be one of the best in Berlin. Even the upper body machines lack volume, you'll need to wait if certain machines are taken. The third one would be the type of grips are very limited, doesn't let an experienced person use the one they need. Lastly, the abdominal machines can use more variety, with respect to horizontal movements too. For the membership pricing, I think this is not too hard to implement. Really nice staff and facilities. I love that it faces the park with a lot of natural light and NO TV screens. I love the saunas and balcony. My favorite class is boxing w Hakan Demir—the real thing with great coaching on technique! It’s so fun! Since starting last year people have been commenting on how it’s been great for my figure 🤩. The only suggestion I have is to extend the shower water duration. It’s ridiculous short!

I've been coming here to train for a while, always in the morning at 6:30/7. During this time it is quiet, clean and the staff are very friendly. This also applies to the changing rooms and the sauna area.
