The Bright Site is the older, smaller sister of the Basement Boulderstudio. Both halls are characterized by a very nice, varied route construction, great wall shapes (= free-standing blocks) and a clearly recognizable difficulty system. However, the hall's age is noticeable - the climbing area, but also the changing rooms and sanitary facilities look pretty worn out. I'm also not a fan of the sometimes smooth walls. Sometimes children running around are also a nuisance. Since the basement offers clear advantages here, the Bright Site would theoretically deserve 4 stars... ...if it weren't for the fabulous outdoor area. Even in the middle of the industrial park, thanks to the trees, you feel like you're in an oasis of well-being. In warmer months, the mix of chilling and bouldering out here is unbeatable. Thanks to this unique selling point, full marks (in the sunny months ;->).

Great bouldering gym. They have a kids area, good routes for beginners, intermediate, and advanced. They have courses too, including a FLINTA Training group. In the summer they have an outdoor climbing area.

Staff are super nice and friendly The indoor part has lots of walls for bouldering, outside is a bit crowded during nice weather. Sometimes the are courses which takes part of the indie section. Overall, great place

It's a big bouldering center with lots of interesting and challenging routes, it gets busy in the evenings, but there's still plenty of space to climb. Staff and climbers friendly, it has a good atmosphere. The best part is it has an outdoor part, in the warmer months that's a nice place to be. One thing to note, you might want to take cash, sometimes the card machine is not working, or doesn't accept certain cards. Lockers can be borrowed, bring your own padlock. There is a reasonable training area and showers/changing area are provided too. They sell pizza, beers, softdrinks and some snacks.

I have been time to time during the years and I never found it clean once, the materass are so dirty and the air is so dusty, the windows are constantly covered in dust. I would come back more often if they would take more care of cleaning

Is a really good place for practice climbing in Berlin-Schöneberg. It has bathrooms with showers, recreation area or climbing walls outside and an extensive installation of walls inside as well. I liked the experience!- 🥰

Hello is big enough, only the mat area between the walls is limited. Someone stepped on my fingers right away. Screwing is done very well. Challenging and varied. Luckily red mats, I hate black mats that swallow up the light. There is little parking space. Shower is like a prison shower as I imagine it there. Practical but not pretty. Please change the shower curtain. The trash can in the toilet is already overflowing. Everything looked a bit dingy. Nevertheless, you could come back.

The prices are very high and have recently been increased even further (14 euros normal entry). Prices for snacks and drinks are also very high. The level of modernization is low. Soap is often missing or the sink drips. The workout area is quite small and quite limited. New screws are installed relatively rarely - so it's not worth coming more than once a week. You should avoid the hall at popular times because it is extremely crowded. But in the morning there is no problem. Just like in all other halls, screwing is done differently. Sometimes very beautiful, sometimes not so beautiful. It is also completely normal that screwdrivers rate routes differently and is therefore not a point of criticism. In summary, this hall offers less for more than other halls in Berlin.

It's kinda meh. Some of the routes seem to make no sense or contain dangerous moves. Place looks pretty old and the grips are also slippery. People were sitting too close to the walls when someone is climbing (I almost fell onto someone)

Soooo cool outdoor chill space, good music, I liked problem settings a lot! Inside with great daylight. On a cooler day, I guess, shirt compulsion would not spoil the fun.

The gym is a bit old, but in a good condition. Staff is super friendly and helpful. Climbing routes are similar to the Basement Boulderstudio as these two gyms are of the same ownership and both are the members of Urban Apes. Routes aren't renewed very often, but there are two climbing zones (Indoors and Outdoors) and so many routes to send.

Despite a slightly odd/unusual grading system if you're used to the font/V system, the routes were really fun and nice to climb with a good selection of styles across walls of varying degrees. Overall atmosphere was friendly and it seems a good place for beginners. Warm up area is tiny and lacking some basics like yoga mats and therabands, but there are fingerboards and pull up bars.

Significantly too expensive for what is offered! No parking spaces on site and a very worn out bouldering area! There are much better halls in the area! €13.90 is pretty cheeky for the small bouldering area. There is 1 additional star for the routes, some of which are very creative.

We were there at 9 a.m. on Sunday. It was up on time and empty as expected. The hall on the first floor. is large and there are enough climbing routes. There is also a large selection outside. Body and soul are also taken care of. I will gladly come again.

We celebrated our daughter's 4 year birthday there this weekend, 12 kids and their parents, and it was a blast! We enjoyed, the kids, the parents... Bright Site staff members were super nice and helpful, my German is bad but that wasn't a problem, it was overall a great experience!! Thank you guys!

This is not a technical review as i am just starting with climbing and bouldern (be aware). I visited the bright side during the summer, and found its atmosphere energetic and friendly. The space was a bit crowded during the afternoon but most people were focus on bringing their bodies and minds to the test on the walls and also naturally looking for a good time. The community and staff were super friendly. The bathrooms and locking rooms were in a good state. I enjoyed the background music and the outside spaces, which are really a highlight, that allow the visitors to chill and enjoy the breeze while still being able to jump to the wall.

As they promote cashless payment 1 star is the best they deserve. Privacy is something this country should be promoting not fighting.

Awesome place in Berlin’s south. Specially interesting are the walls outdoors. Inside there’s plenty to do for all levels. I personally don’t like the fact that there are not enough grips to climb down but that adds a level of difficulty to the climb that some might find interesting. It is not the newest place in Berlin and in the upper tier regarding prices but it’s well built. Extra points for the very cool kids area.

I didn’t go in the main area, only in the section for young kids, but it was well done and a lot of fun for my 5 year old.

There is an outside and inside area here. Many different routes with different difficulties. Most of them are a bit more difficult, the people here are very nice and accommodating. I also think the price is okay. However, I would also like to see more easier routes and better changing rooms, as the doors keep opening when changing, which I do find it very disturbing.

    Best bouldering hall in Berlin

  • 2/5 Chris 1 month ago on Google • 25 reviews New
Poor value for money compared to other bouldering halls in Belin: €13.90 entry fee for a very small bouldering area (indoor area) is not appropriate. The area is further restricted when courses take place and the rear area is cordoned off. There is an outdoor area, but of course it is not closed in winter. My suggestion: Different prices for summer and winter.

It was a great atmosphere with multiple routes, an indoor and outdoor Wall which is great. Grading was fairly simple with 1-9, I think is what I saw. Friendly people and fun staff.

a bit expensive, but a trusted bouldering hall! Especially bouldering in the outdoor facility in summer!

Nice bouldering outside. And not too hot inside in summer

Too hot inside in summer, outside area is nice, and inside is nice too when the weather allows it. My pov is: beginner :)

Amazing outdoor bouldering area at this gym. Great to spend a day here. They also have a decent small cafe inside

  • 4/5 Mikaela L. 2 years ago on Google
The bad reviews don’t reflect the experience I had. The area was well kept and the facilities were comparable to any other climbing gym I’ve been to. The smell was comparable to any gym, gymnastics or sports hall and climbing gym I’ve ever been to and I didn’t see any problems with dust. Judging from the recent responses, it seems the owners are going above and beyond to make changes and respond to criticism, which is great to see. One star off as it is a bit smaller than other gyms, but I at no time felt unsafe or that it was unhygienic. Staff were friendly and I would definitely come back here.

Not the biggest or best equipped bouldering gym I have been to. But they have a nice outdoor area which is a huge plus.

Very big area, lots of routes, and very versatile. Coolest thing is the outdoor area, which is also big - in the right weather it's amazing! Very nice and accommodating staff. Not the biggest training/stretching area, this is why not 5 stars

  • 2/5 David S. 3 months ago on Google • 2 reviews New
Location and staff are great. Trusses are well screwed and the outdoor area in summer is also great. Unfortunately, you are now required to provide your details when you check in. What's that supposed to mean? I would like to go climbing anonymously and I think it's a shame that I have to give my details now. Therefore 3 stars deducted. Otherwise 5/5

Used to be my favourite gym in Berlin... New check in system since 2024 - endless queues... So frustrating!!!

👍👍 This is a very important monument to visit if you get the chance. The ticket price is very reasonable (under 20 euros a person). It is absolutely vast, and has been immaculately well maintained, it's a great vision into the troubling past of Germany, and how the country has managed to overcome that...

😐 It's a nice place for little kids, but I would not recommend it for teenagers. Double and backflips are not allowed and the staff is very strict about it. Basically, anything outside of simple jumping is not permitted. Both of my kids 14+15 y.o. were pretty disappointed. Having said that, the staff...
