Had
to
check
out
early
as
I
have
a
broken
toe
and
two
reconstructed
knees
and
nearly
fell
going
down
the
high
mezzanine
ledge
ladder.
Super
awkward
and
unsafe
for
me
and
bad
for
taller
people
due
to
angle
and
height
of
ledge/ladder.
There
was
also
a
long
list
of
issues:
wifi
didn't
reach
my
bed,
locks
on
the
showers
didn't
work,
pillows
were
uncomfortable,
room
was
hot
and
stuffy,
windows
didn't
open
properly
and
into
noisy
street,
no
curtains
blocking
morning
light,
unbearable
roof-raising
snoring
from
the
person
next
to
me
cutting
through
36db
earplugs
(they
were
staying
4
nights),
dusty
allergenic
carpet
on
the
mezzanine,
poorly
ventilated
basement,
an
awkward
check
in
making
me
feel
like
an
inconvenience,
the
shoes
off
at
the
door
thing,
expensive
for
mid
week
off
peak,
and
just
generally
shabby
with
a
boring
vibe
and
little
amenity.
Done
over
200
hostel
nights
in
my
life
and
this
was
one
of
the
worst.
Brief
summary:
I
check
out
early
and
explain
clearly
to
staff
the
safety
issue.
Owner
eventually
offers
a
part
refund
of
unused
nights,
implying
I
should
be
grateful.
Asks
for
more
reasons,
I
decline
because
it's
uncomfortable,
time
consuming,
and
already
explained
what
matters
to
staff.
A
refund
of
all
3
unused
nights
is
the
right
thing
to
do,
and
I
say
I'll
leave
a
review
otherwise
(I
hate
leaving
bad
reviews).
Owner
declines,
gets
nasty,
defensive
and
arrogant.
Refuses
any
refund.
Lies
saying
they
didn't
know
about
the
toe
when
it's
been
discussed
twice
in
person
and
once
in
writing.
No
empathy,
no
compassion,
just
a
greedy
cash
grab.
Anyway
I
lost
€100
so
that
you
don't
have
to.
