Rooms are beautiful, very well furnished and the landlady herself is so helpful. Will definitely recommend.

Excellent location. Clean and comfortable. It's unfortunate it's so small I didn't get really connect with my hostel mates (we all seemed to be on different schedules). But the host is super nice and I really enjoyed the area.

Amazing hostel. Very cosy, with two double rooms and a 6 bed dorm. Towels and sheets are provided which is nice. Anne is very welcoming and thoughtful, and gives great advice on the city. The hostel is really neat and trendy. The dorm is massive, with a raised loft for three beds instead of bunkbeds. Much nicer. There is a lot of space for your personal belongings. The showers have great decor and are comfortable. Washrooms are very clean and nice. Kitchen has a fridge and microwave and a nice large table. The location is nice as well, in a great area and close to the subway.

This is one of best hostels I ever stayed! Small enough that you feel like you are staying in the oversized condo paired with extremely friendly service makes the ultimate choice when one is looking for places in Berlin. I cannot say thanks enough to Brazilian administrator for accompanying me and going above and beyond to make sure all guests feel comfortable. Also, it is super clean, cozy and features fast wifi. Great location! Highly recommended!

Really a nice and affordable way to spend some time in Berlin and connect to other travelers. I appreciate the concept a lot - lots of cities have empty ground floor spaces, but neither shops (retail crisis) nor locals would like to live there. Minimal hostel made a cosy and cool place out of it. I could imagine to rent the whole hostel with a group (8-10 people). Highly recommended!

The staff and owner of MH were super friendly! They gave excellent travel instructions from the airport to the neighborhood, I had no problem checking in later in the evening and I felt right at home upon arrival. The surrounding neighborhood is full of great bars and restaurants and several supermarkets. Other guests were respectful of private space, quiet hours and generally friendly. There is a locked drawer for your valuable items. The showers are super clean and comfortable (sometimes hard to find). For the price, pleasant atmosphere and the service this is the best deal I’ve found in a hostel to date. Thank you for hosting me!

I stayed in Minimal 2 Its hands down one of the best hostels I have ever stayed in and this sentiment was shared by everyone who stayed here. Its not a place to meet a lot of people as its quite small without a bar. However, if you are looking for a peaceful and clean place to stay. This is definitely the one. I stayed here for 2 weeks. And had no problems during the whole stay. Trains, grocery, markets and lots of eateries close by. Thank you for creating such a beautiful place.

A nice hostel, I would definitely book it again! Uncomplicated check-in. The cleanliness is really good, most likely because you are asked to take your shoes off at the entrance! In general, the location is quite quiet, and the hostel was also quite quiet during my stay, which I thought was great. The connection to public transport is good.

Couldn't be happier with the location: so calm and yet right in the action. I spent a week here, a few nights in the dorm and a few nights in a private room. Feels like a clean bright home, very friendly, very sane. (Also very quiet which I love, but even the slightest sound anyone makes in any room can be heard by all. Not a "problem," but more insulation would be welcome since fellow visitors arrive and depart at all times.) It will be my pleasure to stay here again.

This is a nice, small hostel. The beds, rooms and toilets were satisfactorily clean. There is also a small kitchen with some utensils and the like, which I did not really use. The hostess is very nice and considerate. The check-in is quite flexible and you can arrive outside of regular check-in hours and still have a way to readily access your bed/room if you speak to the hostess in advance and arrange it. The main advantage for this place is its location, with many nice restaurants scattered around it at a walkable distance.

Great place: cheap, quite, fascinating, intimate, clean. To travel with friend it's what in mind is the ideal place to stay if you have a low budget, I'll return here in the future.

We had a wonderful stay at the hostel! It is perfectly located for visiting Berlin, as it is very close to the U-bahn and offers bike rentals. Anne, our host, was kind and took the time to give us advice on exploring Berlin. Our double room was comfortable and quiet. The shared spaces were clean, and we had the opportunity to meet some amazing people there.

I've stayed at Minimal Hostel a few times now. Anne and Mikaela are full of kindness, the beds are comfortable and the showers are clean. Not to mention the location is perfect. I'll be coming back :)

I chose this place because of the good reviews, but unfortunately that was not my experience. When I arrived it took 10 minutes of knocking on the door (at both locations, as they have a sign on the door to try the hostel across the street if no one answers) before someone finally heard me and let me in (I had even given them my arrival time via email). The man who greeted me was unfriendly and the check-in process was disorganized. The room I stayed in was directly facing the street and was VERY noisy at night as its a busy area with bars and restaurants. I requested to switch but was told it was not possible. I finally chose to book another place and was told I would receive a refund for the remaining nights, but the full refund was not provided. I do not recommend staying here! There are many other places to stay in this neighborhood - save yourself the hassle and get a good night's sleep elsewhere :)

Love love love this hostel! All the reviews were spot on. Anna is the best, the hostel is funky and spotless, and I was able to work and meet people. It was a home away from home. I can't wait to stay here again next year!

I spent an absolutely fantastic few days here. The hostel was cool, comfortable, and Anna was just the greatest host! Will return 100% next time I come to Berlin.

I do not recommend to stay here. It is a shared house and not a hostel. I arrived in the late afternoon and there was no one to welcome me or even open the door. I had to find somewhere the key ! + small hostel, good location, friendly ( but unpresent) owner - hard thin matrass ( very tired at the end of my stay), cold hostel, no commun spaces ( only a cold kitchen which is also the entry), beds are noisy, check out at 11 am

My first stay in Berlin and I could not have wished for a better place. Anne was delightful and helpful, funny and personable. I already feel so welcome here! This place is incredibly central and the neighbourhood is beautiful peaceful and lively. The room was SO great! Creative, funky and comfy!!! Everything about this hostel is beautiful! Thank you Anne for such a wonderful stay!

A really nice hostel. Not expensive for Berlin, no problems at all with check in, a lot of free stuff available, really nice double rooms. Good location, close to U-bahn lines. Anna, the host, is very nice and helpful for the guests. Note - the whole hostel has enough place for 10 people only (2 double rooms + 6 beds in a big room), so be quick to book your stay, it's worth it ;)

I really felt at home from the moment I arrived, I received a small personal note with the key that was waiting in a locked box, so I checked in by myself. The dorms room was spacious and comfortable with hangers, locker and a towel. I highly recommend it.

Best hostel in Germany!! There is around 5 minutes route from hostel to u8 station... Nice owner, nice place. The hostel's environment is very clean. So comfortable. There are supermarket, laundry and restaurants nearby. I will book again if I come back Berlin.

Oh, man. Can I live here forever? To say that this is the best hostel I've ever been to would be mean to all the other hostels, as it would set an impossibly high standard no one is likely to achieve. (It's also got more of an Airbnb vibe... It should have a category of its own, really.) This place is spacious, immaculate, airy and just so comfortable. It's got everything you would need (except a stove, but they do have a microwave) and doesn't stink like jocks all the time. The fact that there are only 6 beds in the room also means that they attract really nice people who are social but respect quiet time at night. And the location is perfect! The hostel is in a nice, creative, hip area of Berlin. Anne and her partner are amazing. They are really welcoming and accommodating and they have thought about everything. They're also not the kind of people who only engage in small talk with you just to be nice, but include you in their conversations as though you're old friends. I can't fault this place except that the only downside of staying here was that I really didn't want to leave, so didn't do as much sightseeing. Thanks so much for having me, Anne! I can't wait to be back.

I had a wonderful time at Minimal. This is exactly what I want from a hostel: small, clean, quiet, welcoming; a good location and intimate experience. Anne was so kind and very accommodating. I flew in on Christmas Eve not realizing everything was closed, and she graciously had left some food for me to have when I arrived. I would stay here again and again. I wish I could run a hostel like this!

Small and cozy hostel in the best location in Berlin. Beds are comfortable and the dorm is spacious. Everything is also super clean and the owner is the sweetest person!! Great experience, will come back for sure!

I was so grateful to have had the chance to stay here during my time in Berlin, it was everything I expected after reading the reviews and more! I had the chance to meet some awesome people while I was there as well, which was the cherry on top to my hostel experience here. It’s not necessarily a super bustling place, but there was a nice balance between comfort/privacy while still sharing a room with 6 people. I’d recommend this hostel to anyone wanting to have a type of ‘home base’ feel to their stay while they explore the city. Could not have asked for a better time here. Thank you Anne for providing such a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere!

Everything was so great. Extremely clean and comfortable! Everyone has a huge individual space with reasonable price! The stuff are also very friendly and helpful, i arrived late, but I had no problem doing self checkin. Highly recommend!

Highly recommended! I’ve had a great stay in Minimal hostel (the private room). Anne is just a wonderful, enthusiastic and very caring host, always in for a chat and some good tips. The hostel itself is small, charming and clean. Conveniently located as well, right in the ‘alive’ neighborhood of Neukolln, close to the U Bahn and the shores of the Spree river. The food market around the corner (I believe once or twice a week) is a must! The only downside: the pillows are very soft.

I stayed here with my girlfriend over the summer and it was fantastic. It's in a great location in Berlin where there are lots of cafes and the canal to walk along or sit in the sun and enjoy a Radler. It's very clean and very cosy, the people who run this hostel will make your stay very enjoyable! Stay here if you are a cool and nice person. We stayed in the double room and the dorm and it was perfect. I would definitely stay here again!!

This was truly an amazing place to be! There is a common room with chairs and a small "kitchen" where it was really nice to hang out and speak with both other room mates and the owner when she stopped by in the morning. The toilet and shower facilities were really nice, and had some amazing details you have to see for yourself. The room was possibly the best experience. No bunk beds, but a self-built mezzanine. Each bed separated with a lockable metal cabinet for your stuff so it really felt like your own little private space. I never had a better experience with a hostel than this one.

Everything was perfect! The hostel is nicely decorated, warm and cozy! It is in a really nice location, next to a metro station. It's also very clean! Loved that we should take off our shoes at the entrance..Anne was fantastic, very kind and smiley! She gave me all the instractions needed, and made sure i had no problems with my check in and check out time! Thank you very much!

Had to check out early as I have a broken toe and two reconstructed knees and nearly fell going down the high mezzanine ledge ladder. Super awkward and unsafe for me and bad for taller people due to angle and height of ledge/ladder. There was also a long list of issues: wifi didn't reach my bed, locks on the showers didn't work, pillows were uncomfortable, room was hot and stuffy, windows didn't open properly and into noisy street, no curtains blocking morning light, unbearable roof-raising snoring from the person next to me cutting through 36db earplugs (they were staying 4 nights), dusty allergenic carpet on the mezzanine, poorly ventilated basement, an awkward check in making me feel like an inconvenience, the shoes off at the door thing, expensive for mid week off peak, and just generally shabby with a boring vibe and little amenity. Done over 200 hostel nights in my life and this was one of the worst. Brief summary: I check out early and explain clearly to staff the safety issue. Owner eventually offers a part refund of unused nights, implying I should be grateful. Asks for more reasons, I decline because it's uncomfortable, time consuming, and already explained what matters to staff. A refund of all 3 unused nights is the right thing to do, and I say I'll leave a review otherwise (I hate leaving bad reviews). Owner declines, gets nasty, defensive and arrogant. Refuses any refund. Lies saying they didn't know about the toe when it's been discussed twice in person and once in writing. No empathy, no compassion, just a greedy cash grab. Anyway I lost €100 so that you don't have to.
