I buy my beans here, and that consistently for many many years. However, the service varies from friendly and professional to lazy and arrogant. The latter was my experience last week. Upon asking whether they can recommend some beans for cold brew, my standard question in the summer, I was treated with too much gusto for my taste: „you got to follow your heart and try stuff out“ is not professional when it comes to 15 euro bags of beans. Especially when accompanied by the ironic laughter of present colleagues of the oh so cool and chill young employee as a reaction to the oh so cool way she handled me. I am always friendly and thankful so I expect more if I am going to be giving you about 700 euros per year. Berlin service was funny while prices where low, if you are asking big city prices, it follows that people expect big city service. Please treat people decently.

The coffee looks nice, but there are no other advantages. Sitting on stools like in a fast food bar, austere decor, cappuccino was sour, latte bland, we paid 9€ for 2 small coffees, we couldn't drink it. Normally, I would leave at the very beginning, but I wanted to try the coffee described in many articles as the best in Berlin.

This coffee place used to be great but the one star goes to the experience I had there on July 30, 2020. With a pandemic still very much happening, ALL three baristas were not wearing masks and happily talking to each other while making and serving coffee to customers. Besides the blunt health recklessness, the baristas also seemed to not have received any training as, well, baristas. The ice latte (which used to be one of the very best in Berlin) looked like dirty water with ice cubes in it. Please get back to your old awesome self, Bonanza.

If I’m paying 4€ for a cappuccino, I at least expect the milk in it to be steamed the right way, not even talking about nice latte art (which would be nice in a specialty coffee place that charges good money for their coffee). Instead, I got a lukewarm coffee with milk (which - they seem to only be using oat now and don’t say anything about it?) and no steam, as well as a poor attempt at drawing a heart. As a person who works with coffee, I was extremely disappointed- the quality of the place decreased significantly. Expect to wait for 10 minutes for a coffee even though there are no orders before you and get absolutely no difference between a flat white and a cappuccino, as well as baristas who ignore you for a couple of minutes because they’re too busy chatting with each other. Also, overpriced and underwhelming pastries that are not even presented in any way.

The cool kids, hipster hangout spot. I felt cool just being in the vicinity of the people there. Unsurprisingly they have fantastic coffee and even better pastries! Make sure when you try their filled pastries you watch out for the little birds, they’re cute but fearless and will steal anything on your plate! 😂

Awesome place with truly awesome coffee. Whether you prefer acidic, fruity, lighter roast, or a more chocolate coffee they have it. Hell, I usually walk 5 km to there for a cup of espresso, if that's not enough to convince someone to give it a try, I don't know what would :)

The "barista" lady refuses to add milk to my friend's americano even after asking kindly several times, cause "it doesn't taste good". Guys, feel free to be as snobby about your coffee game as you want, but realize there's a certain point when it gets ridiculous.

Chill spot w great coffee. No iced black so the closest was an ice filter. Ham croissant was the sleeper hit - both bread and filling

The sitting inside is not very comfortable for small people - the chairs are too high, I couldn't seat inside for a long time which is already a reason enough not to come back anymore. Also, they do not have oat milk (neither they do soy milk) which is very surprising for me. The coffee is instead served with a pea coffee which I personally didn't like, the coffee tasted weird. There are plenty of other coffee places in the neighbourhood which serve a much better coffee and offer a better sitting.

I love bonanza but today had a really bad experience. Cold employees that gave me a cup full of ice that doesn't look appealing at all. They could at least break the ice. Looks effortless unfortunately.

Beautiful open space with the rich aroma of coffee beans being freshly roasted. Milk is locally sourced and curated for their bean selection. They offer coffee flights for you to try their different beans. Pastries are from La Maison so it’s the best, but runs out quick. I got the last chocolate croissant. Came here to work on a Wednesday afternoon and is was fairly busy, but not overcrowded. They also don’t offer wifi so I had to hotspot on my phone. Cappuccino was a bit on the milky side and not as rich of a coffee taste. Croissant was delicious. Both came to ~€6.40 Took a star off for the cappuccino and lack of wifi. Would come back again to try their coffee flight and hot chocolate.

such a great hip place which certainly knows how to roast and serve their coffee! sadly i'm not a fan of acidic coffee, but if it's your thing, this certainly is the place for you! but be prepared to wait for your order a bit, since it's really popular

Bonanza Coffee Heroes used to be one of my favorite coffee places in Berlin. Such a friendly atmosphere and amazing coffees. However, during my last visit the service was very poor. I was waiting for my coffee for about 15 mins and once I went up to the cashier, she hardly noticed me. Apparently they just forgot about my order, even though the place was not busy. The coffee still quite nice though

This is a cute little third wave coffee shop with a delicious selection of beans. The outside seating is spacious but cozy, nestled under trees in front of the shop. Inside is clean but inviting, and always very busy. Not many tables to sit down, but since they are small people don't stay too long. Coffee itself is delicious and properly brewed, and they make the normal range of drinks.

When I walked through the door I instantly considered leaving because the line was so so long but I’m glad I persisted. The service is slow but the attention to detail makes it worth it. Not one for a quick take away coffee but potentially the best coffee I have ever had. Loved it from start to finish. Sad I only managed to go once while I was in Berlin.

The coffee can be the best as people say (I’m not sure) but their Sprout milk is not good at all. Since its their own product they don’t offer anything but sprout “milk” and normal milk. Since I bought vegan cappuccino, the “milk” ruined all the taste from the coffee. Don’t recommend if you are vegan or lactose intolerant.

I'm guilty of making the same mistake twice. I went to their Kreuzberg cafe some years ago and asked the same question in vain: "I'd like an americano". They said they don't make it. Last time I just walked out. This time the reason was becuse they "didn't have water" in the machine (that makes coffee with water). I don't mind but its the incredibly rude way that they dismissed the enquiry that annoyed me. This place is daylight snobbery.

This coffee shop is in my neighborhood but I probably won't return. The coffee wasn't my favorite, the vibe was a bit more dirty than grungy, and since it's popular with tourists there are long lines and waits. I worked on my laptop here for about an hour or so and enjoyed the music, but there are more pleasant spots within a five minute walk.

Great coffee, too little chocolate in my chocolate pastry. Update: thought I'd give it another try so I went back and got myself a croissant with something but the something wasn't even there. The croissant tasted like it was made yesterday. I also paid for a slice of apple pie that they never put in the bag. The service here keeps getting better and better, keep it up Bonanza!

Was walking by at 10am, my wife and I saw an open door and music, went in to get a to-go coffee for our walk, was met by an annoyed employee saying 2 more minutes, like we had been camping to spring on (what i assume) was their opening time. Just wait to open your door? Or let us wait inside? There wasn't a single other person in a miles radius. Odd energy.

Was here three times, got disappointed three times. Literally don’t know why people are coming here - way too long waiting time, medium taste of coffee and they don’t even react on your favours. Adding an ice cube to your coffee on a hot summer day is “against their principles for qualitative coffee” - have your ever tried italian coffee culture? Lol. Safe your money and spend it on one of the good coffee bars in the neighbourhood! There are plenty of them. Thank me later

One of the best places for specialty coffee in Europe. The staff is always super nice and helpful. The cafĂŠ on Oderberger Strasse is more intimate than the Roastery, visited by locals from the neighborhood especially during the week. To have the real experience, I recommend to go during the week, as on weekends (and especially on Sundays), the cafĂŠ is overly crowded by Mauerpark visitors and tourists.

(Translated by Google) Had to wait 10 minutes for the coffee, but that just showed us that it has to be good. Had our coffee to go :) (Original) Mussten zwar 10 Minuten auf den Kaffee warten, aber das zeigte uns nur, dass er gut sein muss. Hatten unseren Kaffee to go :)

(Translated by Google) I've always wanted to try the coffee there because it's so hyped. I couldn't understand. He was lukewarm and angry. Everything seemed very snobbish, including the baristas. Probably a great place for hipsters, not for me.

(Translated by Google) Very good coffee beans for home brewing. Nice interior of the cafÊs, especially in Jägerstr. near Gendarmenmarkt and in the roastery in Adalbertstr. in Kreuzberg. However, employees (especially in Oderberger Str.) Were mostly disinterested and unfriendly. A hygiene concept seems to be too "uncool". In any case, the employees only occasionally wear a nose mask and do not pay attention to the distances between the seats. Too bad. Allerdings Mitarbeitende (v.a. in der Oderberger Str.) Schade.

The coffee here is not good as it used to be. I live in the neighborhood and this was my third time to be disappointed with the coffee. I don’t think the staffs are professional, they served a luke warm flat white. Doesn’t really live up to their fame and price.

(Translated by Google) Super self-righteous employees. And the waiting times are just as long as the prices. Too bad, it could all be such a joy there. (Original) Super selbsgerechte Mitarbeiter*innen.

The third strike, you're out. Without a doubt the most sarcastic employees one can find. The two girls "working" or just standing around couldn't put their three brain cells together to brew a filtered coffee. They are overpriced and unfriendly. Oh, and the whole "hipster thing" is played out. But I'm sure the owners don't care about losing customers.

Totally incompetent - I emphasized multiple times that I can only drink coffee with soy milk. While they offer soy milk, I was told they don’t mix Coffee and soy milk but I could have it in a hot chocolate instead - thanks !

Service was kind but the vegan milk was incorrectly frothed and the Flat white looked like a CafĂŠ au Lait. I expected something completely on a different level from a specialty coffee joint and a professional barista.

One of the best coffee places in Berlin. My go-to coffee place every time I visit Berlin. Cute location inside and out, and staff is super friendly as well.

Unfriendly service, coffee tastes like lead, probably due to the old water pipes. Waiter (bearded man) speaks poor English.

  • 3/5 Min_isha 1 year ago on Google
Coffee is okay if you like fruity. Not the fastest baristas and expect too be treated like an supplicant. Not sure why there is a waiting line.

  • 5/5 Anja R. 1 year ago on Google
Really excellent and a wide selection of coffees. There is a non-lactose milk option which affects the price but not too much. The service is helpful and friendly and the coffee is beyond reproach!

Hmm.. the interior gives me Kim k house vibes , it is quite minimalist. The coffee wasn’t that great. I ordered a latte and it was just too much milk and the cup was super full like spilling over full. The service was nice though.

This is my favorite cafe in Berlin! Amazing speciality coffee and great vibe overall. I go several times a week and really enjoying working there. The staff is super friendly. The beans are great to take home!

  • 2/5 Katharina S. 1 year ago on Google
Hey there, I was pretty disappointed but maybe it was just a wrong day to be there - so don’t make me stop you from going there. My critic is more for them to adjust if they want to. Our flatwhite was beyond watery, which for the price tag comes with disappointment and definitely different expectations. Didn’t taste like siebtraeger at all. The restroom situation was not cool - super dirty. Don’t get me wrong I live in neukolln - but you know the difference between your favorite club or falafel place and a “hipster expensive coffee place”? The restroom was just dirty. Used hand towel paper on the floor, full bins. I told the people there so they can do something in a friendly way they told me it’s a busy Sunday. Well, but it’s not so busy of a Sunday to lower the price of the coffee so maybe at least clean would be cool. The dirt on the sink was not a busy Sunday thing but just - well: dirty. Won’t come back. I'd say the details don’t match with the image aimed to be created.

A very cozy place in great location! The beans selection is great, but service was not consistent. Also, doesn’t always have pastries options in the morning, so be careful of choosing it as breakfast spot

Tasyty coffee with a ‘cool’ kids atmosphere ☕️ but rather a bit too expensive, a flat white costs €4
