THE BEST CHEESECAKE - absolutely perfect. I don’t drink coffee but I visit them frequently just for the cheesecake 👽 Perfect Covid concept (order inside, pick up in the window) and good packaging to take the cake home. It would be a dream if they served Chai Latte or some other non-coffee drinks but that might be just me 😇 ☁️

Had very high expectations for Five Elephant because of recommendations I’ve read online. It’s definitely good coffee, however, on the pricey side especially for the size of coffee you get. I was also quite excited for the cheesecake but it was just okay, not the best cheesecake I’ve tried.

This is the 2nd place in Berlin where we felt like home, since we have this kind of coffee shops in our city. And those are the places where the coffee and other specialties taste good. We drunk a flat white and a spiced latte and they were great.

Wide selection of coffee serving styles and really tasty speciality coffee. Very good quality of cheescake and pastries. Everything seems to be a but pricey, but quality is assured. They also offer their speciality coffee beans to go. There's plenty of space outside and inside, but it's not a large place.

Coffee here is great. The environment is a little bit too small, so it can get crowded at times. The really bad thing about it is that there is no internet. So even though the entire atmosphere invites you to work and chill here, it's like they are asking you not to stay long. Must be nicer during the summer, with tables outside

We love the their sandwiches. It is almost best tofu we have ever ate. Worker were so hardworking and helpful. But we don’t like coffee so much and the place is located in not good/ secure place. Thanks.

Overall a bit overhyped: cheesecake, coffee and lattes are good, however too expensive. The good thing is that there is a decaf option. There is usually a crazy queue so if you already sit down for a while and have a second drink or cake, you will have to queue again. The staff is very friendly but also stressed due to a lot of demands.

A lovely coffee shop in Kreuzberg area. Cozy, positive vibes and very kind staff. We also tried the deserts, they were really tasty. What made our experience special here, is that I ordered a hot Christmas chocolate that was great! After a while a nice guy that works here, came with a new hot chocolate saying that the Christmas chocolate was not as it should be (I honestly didn’t taste something bad). After a while, the girl that works here, offered us two croissants filled with espresso that were AMAZING! That was such a nice gesture! I really appreciated it! Highly recommended!

Really wonderful coffee shop, but I especially love it in October, when it's already cool outside. Perfect atmosphere and perfect cheesecake by the way 👌

Very hyped. Very pricey. The cake was kinda salty and the espesso macchiato way too strong. I do like their coffee and cheesecake and they are still way better than Starbucks..

Beautiful little cafe in Kreuzberg that reflects the real strengths of this cool hipster suburb. Set in a quiet tree lined street, Five Elephant serves great coffee and a perfect small range of cakes, biscuits and cheesecake. It was a great place to sit and rest after wandering this interesting area of Berlin, and combines a nice simple decor with friendly, engaging staff.

666th rating for this place goes to cheescake! Very fluffy and creamy(?) taste. Totally different from other ones you're use to have. Either you like it or not - I did! ????

I tried dozens of great cheesecakes, thousands of calories just to find the outstanding cheesecake of Five Elephant Kreuzberg. One of the best desserts that a human can eat. It's not a big place but you don't need one when you want to grab a cake. I highly recommend to come in summer , it's very close to maybachufer canal, so after(or before) your cake you can enjoy a walk there.

This coffee shop has it all. The ambiance, interior designs, good coffee, and yummy foods. Prices are a bit high but once you already taste it, you understand why. It is simply one of the best coffee spots in Kreuzberg.

I must say that I find Five Elephants' coffee roasts really delicious and the café itself is also very nicely decorated. On summer days you can also sit outside very well. The vegan strawberry tart was very tasty.

I was surprised, but also pleased, that this coffee house is opened on a Sunday evening, and there were nearly no free places to seat. Oat milk matcha latte undoubtedly tasted perfect. Highly recommend! (And there is a WC, it's very important for such spaces)

Best cheesecake in Berlin!! The cappuccino was wonderful as well; a perfect match for the cheesecake. The cappuccino taste is smooth without after bitter flavor. The service is always kind and fast. The atmosphere is inviting and warm. I highly recommend for anyone who enjoys a morning coffee and cake experience!

Great coffee on a nice quiet street in kreuzberg. Plenty of inside and outside seating, always a nice amount of people, and the baristas were kind and knowledgeable. The coffee was delicious and we had a piece of banana bread that was solid as well!

Went for my usual poison, cappuccino with oat milk, and their famous cheesecake and ended up getting a beetroot cold brew and vegan avocado and pistachio cake instead. Cold brew was wonderful, that cake was ok) Beautiful caring service.

My friend asked for a sparkling water after we paid for our coffee. Later as we wanted to leave we had to wait 20min in queue just to drop 1.50€ at the counter for the water. Please teach your staff to be a little more flexible and a little less German. You just lost a lunch break coffee costumer…

Impossible not to love their coffee. We buy filter beans every once in a while as a treat. They are not cheap and worth every penny.

  • 4/5 mpghann 2 years ago on Google
The vibe is a bit generic hipster, and the staff seem a bit too overworked to provide friendly service. It's not cheap, and it's usually very crowded. However, when the product is this good the rest of the experience is secondary. The coffee is delicious and the cheesecake is heaven on a plate. I will always keep coming back, no matter what.

Best coffee I ever tasted in Berlin. I had a Flat white and it tasted very smooth. The weather was nice so I had a take away. But if there were enough seat I would definitely sit outside. I hope they put more seats in good weather 😊

The coffee is excellent. The cheesecake, known as the “best in town”, is completely tasteless. maybe it was a bad cheesecake day but it had no taste whatsoever. Just go for the coffee and don’t create expectations about the cheesecake

Laid back friendly coffee place. Perfect for breakfast if you care about a good quality of coffee beans. If you work remotely, you can work from here but be aware that laptop seats are only in the back.

  • 3/5 Terri H. 5 months ago on Google
I used to come here every day! The coffee was consistent and delicious, prices reasonable, staff super friendly and the space cozy. However, in the last year or so it has really gone downhill. The pastries are much less tasty and are smaller, but wayyy more expensive. I miss the fluffy croissant/apricot filled croissant days. Now they’re hard and small. Go down the road and you can have a better croissant for a euro less. Beans are great, but the coffee made there is inconsistent. The other day, I decided to give the place another try and my flat white was barely warm. I should have said something, but I felt bad due to my next point: some of the staff are stressed and moody :( I’m not sure if a change in management or staffing has caused this but people there used to be really friendly and in good spirits…maybe I catch them on bad days now. It is not a huge problem, I get we all don’t want to be at work, but I miss having a hello with a morning coffee. For customers, it’s a joyous part of the day to have their morning coffee! Another small note, is that indoor seating could be improved. The stools near the window have nearly killed me multiple times 😅 safer and sturdier chairs would be nice. Anyways, this is such a lovely spot to sit and enjoy, especially in summer, but I hope the management takes notice of the ways in which the quality is slipping, especially as there is so much competition around.

Five elephants is renowned for their cheesecake. It is also an excellent place to meet friends. It is always crowded, and they discourage the use of laptops. Given its location, this is a place for locals. Overall, it is a solid place to have coffee and a dessert.

Great coffee with a nice selection of pastries and very friendly staff. We had the tahini cookie and this dark colored croissant. The taste was very unique and interesting. Try this place out!

Slow service, coffee was overpriced, just 3/4 cup and lukewarm. I ordered milk on the side and when I poured some it got lumpy. The raisin bagel-ish thing was okay, but not worth the 3,40 € It is not so difficult to get a decent coffee, just go somewhere else - very disappointing indeed.

Overall one of my favourite coffee shops in Berlin. Most days serving great single origins. I had a geisha today and it was rather disappointing. It just had no body and barely any flavour. Having said that the croissants are always excellent and so is their very famous cheesecake. The staff could be a little more attentive at the till at times but it just depends on who serves you. Most of them are really friendly.

  • 5/5 Lukáš C. 1 year ago on Google
I was a bit cautious about visiting this place as some of Berlin's legendary coffee shops tend to be rather disappointing. Fortunately, this was not the case. Cheesecake was truly delicious (velvety and not too sweet). Batch brew was also great. Baristas were nice and attentive.

A nice little location on a beautiful street. Had quite high expectations - the coffee and the food were okay but not mind blowing. Could definitely find a better cup of coffee elsewhere but the cafe still has a lot of charm. Although the staff are friendly and the presentation is great, I feel I can’t rate higher than a 3 as the coffee was just subpar.

Go for those cheesecakes before they run out - such perfection is rarely earned- it’s fate- that determines whether they have any left when you reach. Small nice cafe parked away in a corner of Kreuzberg with some charm of its own and locality’s own brand of casual ugly chic. There is warm service and good coffee on offer but what sets them apart truly are these cheesecakes that strike notes of creaminess and tartness in a perfect balance - and oh that crust.... Coffee itself is good - but if it weren’t for those aforementioned lovelies, I would not be going back to this place like an addict to his peddler! Truly worth trying once.
