If you want to have your morning coffee and continue a wonderful day, this is not a right spot. Unfortunately, the person who are working there took a cynical attitude instead of serving coffee, made fun of me by repeating what I said while ordering the coffee, and she also wanted to prevent with negative comments while I was trying to order something to eat. even the other two people standing behind me saw her behavior and left without buying coffee. It really just ruins your day to have such a rude, disrespectful employee at such a good coffee shop :(

The coffee is of high quality and the Barn was a pioneer in this. But by now I've come across new coffee places who in my opinion serve even better coffee. These are not reasons to give 3 stars; I'm doing this because in this particular store the service was incredibly rude and arrogant to me! That's saying something, because I'm used to the service in Berlin not being particularly warm. Answering a question about whether there is a toilet with rolling eyes and telling me it "says no on the door" and generally giving customers the feeling they are an inconvenience goes a bit too far, even for Berlin. You are not working in the only specialty coffee shop in Berlin and I honestly see no reason to come back here again!

Super nice coffee with tasty sweets. Staff is very friendly. I was surprised there is no toilet for customers! Not sure if this is standard in restaurants / coffee shops, but "be careful" :-)

Pretty much an iconic roaster in Berlin these days. If you’re a coffee gal or guy - a must visit. Full range menu from batchies to flat whites (for the Melbourne crew 😉) A few other comments mentioned poor service, I had the complete opposite experience. Super friendly staff that were able to balance a chat while keeping the workflow going. When things quietened down, both baristas came over to ask how my time in Germany was going and offer some tips for getting around town. The Barn has a great sample pack with six different single origins, perfect gift for your coffee friends. Big ❤️ to the Barn crew, already looking forward to my next visit ☺️

Outstanding coffe! Really-really good. One of the top 3 coffee I have ever had anywhere in Europe. We paid attention to the barista when he was making it and you could realise how good that guy is! The place is extremely minimalistic and with the very down side; NO TOILETS!! Apart of that, happy to have a friend who recommended this place to me. Very strong and tasty coffee! Loved it!

Don't know if the coffee is good or not, I never received it. I bought a subscription for my partners birthday and, although on The Barn's website it says order fulfilled, the post didn't deliver it and said "returned to sender". I have been trying to get in contact with the Barn to find a solution but there is no phone number to call, you can only send an email on their website. I did this, and haven't heard anything back. Very frustrated because I spent over €300 and will still have to figure out another gift because no one is getting back to me.

(Translated by Google) Worst hipster cafe in all of Berlin. From the service to the taste, absolutely the lowest level and at a completely exaggerated price. I will never set foot in this shop again. (Original) Schlimmstes Hipster-Cafè in ganz Berlin. Von der Bedienung bis zum Geschmack absolut unterstes Niveau und das zu einem völlig übertriebenen Preis. Rude, overpriced, snotty, hipster spot and dogs are not allowed. I’d much rather take my business to down the street where they’re sweet and normal and actually have good tasting food and coffee.

Really enjoyed the coffee and the place ! It is a real coffee shop with a real barista ! Good quality ingredient and nice place ! (Even tho I think the design changed) Now it is a coffee to go and not a place where you stay and work. You can seat outside, there is a lot of seats !

The one star is for the decline in the customer concern. I would not imagine me writing such the review about the Barn. After all, the coffee is incredible, and I respect and appreciate the way Ralf treats the coffee, the farmers, Earth and until recently, the customers. I was a subscriber for monthly coffee delivery, and when receiving the last delivery it turned out that I was charged 33 Eu more than the subscription conditions (original price was 40 Eu). Due to regulation rules in my country this price increase lead to additional tax and custom clearance fees of 40 Eu, so I was paying 70 Eu more for a bag of coffee. When I contacted the Barn I was given the answer that I had wrong delivery type, and they just corrected it. When I showed that this wasn't the case the answer was "due to global shipping restrictions we have to react quickly and adjust our shipping prices" - on my account. I'm completely aware of the global situation and would understand price adjustment. But it was a deception on the first place and complete disregard to the customer - I expect to informed and have my decision. Only after the 3rd approach I was refunded (not for the tax overpay). It's a pity! Don't know better coffee.

No strollers, no pets, no breastfeeding, no laptops no this no that, this is a ridiculous place that anybody with a sense of dignity should turn their backs to. Just obnoxious. And, exactly because of this, its typically populated by tourists who have no idea what they are supporting.

Additional updates since my last post: The Barn Roastery mentioned a couple of days ago, that they are fully staffed now and I should give them another chance. I was willing to do so and called today about the order from my girlfriend 3 weeks ago. Nobody picked up the phone (6 calls), and I received a mail that the coffee is still not shipped. To the BARN Team: I am willing to give you the chance and change my mind, if you finally pick up the phone and confirm the cancellation and refund the money. Great coffee but horrible service, coffee always arrives at least one week delayed if not longer, nobody feels responsible to help and customer support is barely reachable. Dont buy here!

If this is your first time visiting, I would advise you to read the cards that are located at the entrance so that you can determine which coffee beans you want for filter coffee. They offer a diverse range of options, from cinnamon to jasmine notes, to choose from. The coffee is of very high quality but comes at a high price for Berlin standards. We get one filtered coffee and one cappuccino for a total of 11 euros. The service was satisfactory, but there were no greetings and not much effort put into hospitality. You should come here solely for the excellent coffee.

(Translated by Google) The service is very friendly and the ambience is very stylish and cool, and the coffee is delicious. However, our order (5 cappuccinos to go) took a whopping 30 minutes. Smaller orders placed after us were given priority. Only when we asked did the gentlemen put our order. It's a shame, that really doesn't work. (Original) Die Bedienung ist sehr freundlich und das Ambiente sehr stylisch und cool, der Kaffee ganz lecker. Allerdings hat unsere Bestellung (5 Cappuccino to go) geschlagene 30 Minuten gebraucht. Kleinere Bestellungen, die nach uns aufgegeben wurden, wurden vorgezogen. Erst auf Nachfrage machten sich die Herren an unsere Bestellung. Schade, sowas geht echt nicht.

(Translated by Google) Actually a good concept to offer the best coffee that has been optimally grown etc.. But the coffee is totally sour and the employee cannot deal with complaints. Also unable to serve non-acidic coffee. We were 7 people and also wanted to eat the cake, so we went. The employee said it was up to Corona. I mean it's because of the professionalism of the employee. (Original) Eigentlich ein gutes Konzept, besten Kaffee anzubieten, der optimal angebaut wurde etc. . The service has definitely free-falled. There were no smiles by any one of the staff. Paid 19 euros, thinking it was for the 250g beans and 2 flat whites to go I ordered, turned out to be just one flatwhite and the beans. The girls were very rude about the misunderstanding. I definitely expect better service for this level of high prices. Never coming back again

To all moms & dads with strollers: I know 99% of you see a sign with “no stroller allowed inside” and just move on to the next coffee place. Couldn’t care less. But there is this 1% of parents who take offense at a place not adoring your little sweetie as much as you do. Who cannot accept a company’s policy if you feel it violates your “right of freedom”. Ever thought that there is maybe a health & safety reason behind their policy? Would you equally rant about a wine shop who doesn’t allow strollers? No, I am not affiliated with THE BARN, I am just stating this as I am sick of people’s comments that don’t come to terms with humble shop owners’ decisions. Also, you can use a laptop here, just not on the window seats. PEOPLE, JUST STOP MOANING IF LIFE ISNT 100% AS YOU DREAM IT. Rather enjoy life - with a nice coffee for example

End of September I bought two boxes of instant coffee because I was leaving Berlin. When I arrived home, I realized that in one box there was only 3 bags and not 6 as I paid for!! I wrote them but had no answer. I would suggest not buying these or checking inside before.

I ordered a fresh coffee in December and received one that was roasted in May. Exactly, so it was roasted in May, you have a one-year shelf life, the beans were so strong that I had to break my grinder in them.

We visited on a cloudy day in Berlin. You can see from the outside if there are available seats, and we were able to find seats facing the front of the cafe. The barista greeted us, and since my Germain bad, she took my order in English and was super friendly. I took the classic Winter special cappuccino, and my GF took some tea. Her teacup was cool and minimal, and my coffee was just about right. Note the window seats. People will stare at you from the outside. If you want more privacy, get the tables inside that are not facing the window.

A very nice little cafe. It’s very authentic and as you are drinking your coffee, you’ll often be able to hear the staff roasting the coffee beans. This also means that the coffee is very fresh and has a great taste to it. Like the coffee their cakes are rather delicious too. I’ve tried the carrot cake, and the chocolate muffin, both very tasty. It is a bit more expensive than other cafes but in my opinion it is worth every penny.

Amazing coffee and bakery! Truly experts within their field. However, ... However, the service is unfortunately too pop-smart’ish and is a downside of the place. There is not a finger to place on the coffee that they serve, because it’s truly amazing, and the highest quality out there. But what I am tired of is entering an amazing coffee house full of hipsterish people who cannot even greet people in a polite way and make you feel fully welcome. As a cafè owner you are 100% in charge of not only fulfilling 1/2 but 2/2. That’s what makes you stick out as well. You need to be aware and master both parts in order to really succeed. Adjust that, and this place will be a legendary place. For those with small children: Also, please note that the place doesn’t allow you to bring with you a baby stroller inside. We were told it was because of fire safety.

This is by far my worst experience in a Berlin coffee place in more than 10 years. I had been there twice alone; today I walked in with my son sleeping in his stroller and I was informed that I'm not allowed to order because strollers are not accepted. I clarified that I just wanted to get an espresso "to go", but I was told that I was still not allowed. To cut a long story short: it's not just that they don't accept crying babies, but they also refuse to serve parents with sleeping babies. I cannot call this place's policy ridiculous, because it's far more than that, unfortunately.

DONT ORDER THE LEMONADE!!! Unfriendly waiters, no toilets... that's only the first impression. When I ordered the lemonade I almost gagged. It tasted like you'd mix coffee with cola and ice tea, spices... when I asked for something else the waiter said that this was what I ordered. You won't be seeing me again. Big waste of money.

Terrible online service! More than a month ago, I created an order. In the order, there are 2 mugs and 2 coffees. Somehow, I did a tragic mistake of also making a subscription with that order, so, that the subscription delivery was assigned to the whole thing and 1 of the coffees is from subscription... The money was withdrawn from my account in the full amount, though. Nothing happened for a while, so, I asked several times about the status of the order, and the last answer was that they were brewing on the first week of the month, so, I needed to wait (mugs and the coffee which is not in the subscription as well?). Now, after a month, the order finally arrives and there are only mugs and a coffee from subscription! It's also marked as completely fulfilled in the system... I start loosing hope...
