I am a girl and the bouncer didn't let me in. He said he would leave me inside and give me a free Bacardi cola if I went backstage with him and give him a '****job'. Absolutely disgusting. But the vibes in the club were nice and the Bacardi cola is one of my favourite!

It was a very good time to gather with my niece (Mexican) who has been living in Berlin for 5 years with her husband (German) and I was visiting for the weekend with my boyfriend (British). We were walking all day having a Berliner experience in the city, and we met at this amazing bar in front of the night club we were planning to go. Everything was going well until we got to the queue to get into the night club. A guy on our side was wearing a football t-shirt and the bouncer (lady) asked him to change it as it was not allowed it in the club. However, they allowed him and his friends in the club. My niece, her husband and I were speaking in Spanish, and when we were next to get in the club, the bouncer (lady) asked us if we had been there before. As 2 non-local people, we answered we hadn’t. She asked if we were drinking before, to which we answered, we had but not too much. Then, she asked us were we were from and we answered from Mexico, London and Berlin respectively. Next act, she said, this is not your night and with no explanation, she didn’t allow us to get in. It was a very unpleasant situation. And it was clear that the bouncer was racist. Apparently, many German people haven’t learned from history events that racism makes them awful people.

The night progresses perfectly here. So many chill out spots. You don't feel like an observer being sat down because that is a part of the experience. Queues can be a bit of a piss take during peak but otherwise easy to get served with a few bars dotted around. Visit all rooms and spend some time finding your groove.

Good club but the staff are not so fun. Spent €50 on two tickets and they still didn’t let us in. Asked for my money back and they said no and started getting aggressive and said they would call the police, which we welcomed. As the conversation developed the staff became more and more aggressive and then asked us to call the police. Once one my favourite clubs in Berlin now the downside of Berlin. Have a good time guys it’s just TECHNO.

Amazing club with different scenes inside. Many people are friendly and mostly focusing on dancing and the vibe. Also, you never loose anything, you always find it. Sound systems are A+ and DJs there are mostly skilled and passionate, you can see it in their eyes. Definitely in my list of clubs to play gigs at 🖤🙏

I was there yesterday on special party, there was a huge dancefloor, I liked it a lot and when I came back next time, there where three different dancefloors not so big, but club has very good vibe and very good atmosphere. It's a bit old, but has its own sharm. Mostly because of good lineup of DJ's, very cool stuff and good vintage interior. And very good security.

Paid 5 euros at 8 pm and they were closing at 11 pm. We spent 1 hour at the line trying to ordering a drink. People at the bar were rude and messy. The beer was warm. But is a cool place and the pizza is really good. The pizza’s chef is really nice ;)

Club is not maintained at all, it’s super unhygienic and smells of piss everywhere. The bar staff doesn’t follow hygiene standards and serve drinks in used glasses. The staff, security at gate, and doorwomen were stinking so bad, seemed like they haven’t showered for days. Music was average - overall experience was unpleasant as there was hardly any space in the rooms to move around.

After waiting, we witnessed how they were removing every person who wasn't a local (not letting them in). A tall ladyboy with curly hair was very disrespectful and didn't let us in because we couldn't speak German. Perhaps the place is good, but it's a shame how that guy dressed as a woman treated people.

Had and amazing time Good music We were in the outdoor patio/terrace with friends Had a couple of tables and lots of drinks It’s a bit if a pain to line up to get drinks but one you start buying rounds you only have to line up once or twice the rest of the time is not your turn and we would go there with a drink so you can finish it just before getting served Anyhow Good people and fun lots of dancing even some fire when it got dark bong fire I mean Of course we’ll be back Ohh and the entrance is cheap as well like a 5 or 10€

Bouncer was extremely rude and asked us how old we were. When we said 20, he said that we were too young. Then our friend who was 21 went back to go in and the bouncer wouldn’t let him in because he gave off a “bad vibe.” Lmao we paid $16 each for tickets and they didn’t let us in. It seemed really dead inside so probably weren’t going to stay there long anyway. Don’t waste your time or money on this dump.

One of the great Berlin clubs. Had a great night here; surrounded by lovely people and excellent music. In other reviews some people mention racism or aggression at the door. I didn't encounter any of that. People were very friendly and open. Recommended.

i think people try to gate-keep this place. the old reviews made us almost turn around but we went for it and everything was fine. considering the entry price and drink prices inside, you spend a lot but it is worth for a night there. smoking inside doesn’t bother me but when you enter they explicitly say no smoking inside. however people do not care as you can imagine -_-

pretty cool place. three different stages, many small relax rooms, and nice garden. the door selection wasn't the best, though. there were too many people at one moment and some of them quite disrupted the vibe.

The entry and girl at the door was supercool, I can speak a bit of German, but she accommodated English immediately and welcomed us in, put stickers in our cameras and let us in. Music was aweeeesome, and the people supernice, meet wonderful people. Recommend yo anyone who enjoys a good night out in Berlin

A sweet and very familiar club. The bouncers are nice as well as the staff. The club is very uniquely designed and has a special charm. However, due to the many smaller rooms, you quickly feel cramped. But still a must seen in Berlin.

Very fun club with a nice 'houseparty' vibe. Entrance was a bit expensive (€20) but the drinks were reasonably priced (4€ for a beer is not expensive for a club). We waited an hour in the line (we arrived at 3 am) so I think if you arrive earlier you have to wait longer. Very nice and accepting vibe inside, everyone can be themselves. Very good techno but also other rooms with different styles so everyone will have something they like.

For me it's one of the best clubs in Berlin. The atmosphere of a squatted building is very reflective of the East Berlin vibe. You have multiple scenes (most often 4) with different techno styles so you're sure to find one you like. A lot of smoke and light effects which improve the atmosphere. There're also lot of rooms to lounge or play Mario Kart without having the full volume of the scenes, and there's also a big garden, very nice to rest a bit. For the people complaining about being rejected, searched by the bouncers or having to put a sticker on your phone's cameras, this is just like that in all Berlin clubs. What happens inside, stay inside. Enjoy the moment, don't waste it by filming with your phone. Most of the people being rejected here are people already drunk or high. No club in the world would let you enter like so, it's not specific to Berlin.

I visited Renates Lunacy party for the first time two weeks ago and was largely disappointed. The club was so crowded, that one could barely move and it wasn't possible to dance or find a cozy spot for a sensual experience. Also there wasn't much of a ventilation indoor. The decoration didn't catch me as imaginative, neither were the costumes. Flower wreaths and glitter don't live up to big announcements, which have been made about the door policy (was there any?). Furthermore I experienced the Midsummer event as a rather straight-spirited party with unfortunately not only comfortable vibes. If you charge more than 30 euros entrance, I expect some attention for detail and a nice curation. Unfortunately for me it is a Never Again.

Always love events at Renate. Its one of the OG clubs in Berlin with a nice atmosphere. Make sure to check the music lineup before you go as it varies quite a bit.

Ok Club - could be better, could be worse. Always the bar staff was at 2 visits very unfriendly, in best case neutral mood. Soundsystems are OK. Interesting building. Nice decoration / depending on party. I love the garden in summer. Also very crowdy club. The bouncers seem to be friendly and explain why someone got rejected and give advice (saw it a couof time). Wardrobe can take a long time. Enough toilets available.

After many attempts to get into Berlin’s nightlife, finally our chance took a turn with Renate. Earlier arrival would be wiser since the queueing won’t be long. Cool place, relatively empty at the beggining but gets busier with time. Multiple rooms open accordingly for different music tastes. Better to split up if you are with a big group and make sure to check the day’s program.🙌🏻

Entrance was 25€(!), thank god we were on the list last night and did not have to pay for this mockery of a nightclub. It was so full, we managed to dance for maybe 10 minutes in total. I swear the temperature on the dance floors was 45 degrees, because there were 5 times more people inside than there should have been and no ventilation at all. A small beer was 5€. We waited 20 minutes to get it. That said, Renate has an exquisite garden. When we went there a couple of months ago to just have a drink at the beer garden, we were pleasantly surprised by beautiful performances. I also partied in Renate many years ago and it was fine. I guess now the owners want to make all the money they were not able to make during the pandemic. This is pathetic.

Entry: 2 Stars We went to this club 5 times by now welcomed by sweet bouncers, and two times rejected by strange behaviours. Last time, there was this black woman accusing us we're lying we're from Berlin. Super weird.. Just to mention, we always go with same folks and same style. Nothing changed from us for sure. Music: 4 stars The main floor is always solid but crowded. The second and third stages depend on the night. Sometimes the DJs are great, sometimes not. This up and down we mostly witness from the bigger room which often plays Tech House.

It was a good experience. Staff and environment was friendly. You can switch between different electronic music genres. Also it has a bonfire outside that you can chill and talk peacefully even in winter time. For a person who has never been to any clubs in Berlin, i think it is a good start

Don’t bother, rude employees, disgusting inside the club and super bad atmosphere. It’s a crazy place with judgemental employees. If you are not “alternative” enough they won’t let you in, if you are “alternative” enough but just barely they’ll treat you like trash. These are the people fighting for so called equality but they aren’t treating people equally themselves. We were clothed in full black and leather and got in, two friends didn’t get in. HATE THIS CLUB!! NEVER GO

Really nice club with amazing music (house and disco). The atmosphere is really great and we had a lot of fun. If the party has a specific dresscode (like for exemple Paradise Garage) they will enforce it so come dressed appropriately. The only down side is the staff: unfriendly and sometimes even unprofessional. (the woman taking your bag/clothes is arrogant and won't even have the decency to look you in the eye)

I have been in the best clubs in the world to listen to the djs that invented dance music, so being rejected for no reason from a place that was opened a few years ago for a party were dj nobody was playing just makes me laugh. Berlin is one of the worse places for night life I have ever been to. They have a serious issue with door policy and I am not the only one who says that, just look at other reviews from any other club. They pretend that they are doing this to keep their clubs underground and alternative, but the truth is that this is just marketing, because there is no rational criteria for selection at the door, they just keep artificial queues and reject people randomly to keep the hype up. Who has ever been is a REAL underground venue has never experienced a queue like this. Is not that I am mad for not being able to listen to dj nobody , but it's the lost of time and money that makes me angry. You are commercial and mainstream as any other club, but the difference is that you pretend to be the alternative, you are just fooling people that are generously interested to your venue and your music. I truly hope you will fail and that smarter management will take over your potential.

Always an amazing place , cramped and full of character. Sound quality blow you away and be prepared for very very hot rooms but all the amazing people and god line ups make up for what it lacks. Insider tip: Try to go to their Thursdays parties , that’s where it’s at.

It's rare or even impossible for me to find a club that has good music playing in all rooms, nothing too hard, even the techno room had a funkier vibe. Great sound everywhere, cool people. One of the best nights out in Berlin

Went to Renate with 1 friend on Saturday evening shortly after they opened (23h). Waiting time was 15 minutes. Entrance 20€. Friendly vibes, cool bohemian setting and awesome Berlin tekno. Perfect clubbing experience; everyone were respectful and just enjoying the great music and vibe. Rooms can get hot (but not crowded), however it’s part of the experience! I cannot compare to other clubs yet, but seems like a solid choice for Berlin clubbing!

very cool Club, the guy at the door was very nice and friendly. we went there in a group of 7, 3 girls and 4 guys. Music also cool. Only negative aspect of we can call it like that is that on the dancefloor at the ground floor is really really really cold. sad cause the music was amazing there but definitely too cold ^^ we will definitely come back ❤️

I was waiting for 2 hours outside to get to the entrance. The blond woman/bouncer in red jacket (30th of October 2021) checking vaccination certificates and IDs was super rude, giving me an unpleasant comment about my outfit... why do you even give any negative unjustified comments to your potential customers? You wait, pay and get such an attitude. After this wonderful experience never again.

A really spacious and beautiful garden, marvellous music and sound, lively crowd, chill and artsy people. Bouncers are beyond rude (maybe they use the job to project their disappointment and personal problems on other people). My friend had laser eye surgery and brought her eye drops with a prescription and the guy at the door made her drop it in both her eyes and looked from a very close distance if she really does it. I understand the concerns but this goes a bit too far. Otherwise a very pleasant experience! It's like you are in a sauna though

Everything was great. Nice music, space and the staffs. but The Gaderobe queueing, though, was a bit of a bummer with just two staff members handling a crowd. For 1.5 hours, I spent my time for Gaderobe queueing… Adding a few more hands on deck could really speed things up. My tip: Save Renate visits for jacket-free summer nights!

If you’re looking for a typical underground/dark experience in Berlin look no further. Music is awesome, plenty of different kinds, from hard core to groovy and organic, experimental music. The place is pretty dark and you never know what happens in the puppet closets 😂

One of my favorite clubs in Berlin! Three weeks ago we got there around 5:30 and I could see that the lady was really hesitating to let us in, I guess being six guys didn't help, but I told her honestly that none of us lives in Berlin (which was true) and that we just wanted to have a good time, so we did get in, and we did have a great time :) Will definitely come back!

i had a great time there the 2 times ive been. one was a kinky event which was really fun and the other time yesterday was also great but the barkeeper lady downstairs was the rudest person ive ever met. literally harassing every customer that came by. i do not understand if she had a really bad day or if shes a hostile person in general. this lady does NOT belong behind a bar. you need to fire her please its unacceptable to be insulted for no reason by the bar.

We were put on the door list by a friend who is a DJ in Berlin. We’re glad we made the effort to come. This is an authentic Berlin EDM experience. The different rooms play home to a rotation of DJs all night long, into the morning. What really stands out at this place is the central outdoor section with so many different seating areas to chill between dances. Several bars that are easy to get a drink at and affordable. We were told to expect a big line up, but the time we got there wasn’t too bad. It would be worth it even if there was one. A must visit for dance music lovers when in Berlin.
