I was hoping for more, to be honest. they do have every important brand, but their sales assistants are terrible at their jobs and pay no attention to customers. you need to actively seek them out and even then, advice is sparse. they do have French products downstairs, but it's just regular groceries and no nice products you want to bring home for friends and family. the crowd is mostly tourists and very few active shoppers. the only place I'd return for is the children's section- it's very small, but offers a good selection and the kids have a secluded space to play.

THIS REVIEW APPLIES ONLY TO THE CONFECTIONARY IN THE BASEMENT. A good selection of fresh french pastries and hot drinks. Some look so good that you can't resist the temptation to eat 😃 If you are visiting WeWork (also as a guest) their WiFi has coverage there as well, because the phone signal could be weak down there.

Some of the personnel are great, and some of them are the most unprofessional people I've met in the industry. I had a really good shopping experience, and then when I had to follow-up with a question to Customer Service, a lady on the phone literally made fun of me, thinking I couldn't hear her or understand her (as she was speaking in German). When I mentioned I had heard what she said she said it was "kind of" professional. She treated me like trash, at a place where I had spent hundreds of dollars the day before. I must note that mostly everyone else I encountered was nice, helpful, calm and genuinely interested in helping me.

The worst shopping experience I had in my life. I went there to buy a Frédérique Constant watch; not only there was NO ONE there to serve us, we had to wait 15 mins for another server to become available. When she was available, she had to search for a box for around 20 mins, calling her colleague on the phone. It was a red flag when she told us ‘I cant find the manual in English, but I can print one online’. She found a box with the charger finally but failed to tell us that the watch has been in their collection for a while so it was pretty old. When I brought it back to the hotel, the watch (it was a smart watch) failed to charge after charging overnight. So we bought it back to the store. I went to the returns/ customer service center; where the superbly rude lady just dismissed us saying ‘not here, downstairs’ and didn’t even bother with pleasantries or ask what our problem was. The guy who was there, finally, is someone who knows what he is doing and the items that he is selling. He processed all the documents and gave us a refund (not shop vouchers since we were tourists). His service was the only service which was good, and he even recommended me another product which I end up buying in another store. Put it this way - this is a few days before Christmas and unlike the other stores, this store was virtually deserted - the only floors filled with people were the food floors (they should just open a restaurant here) - their items are old and unkept; the sales assistants look disinterested in service (only a few were good). Don’t bother to come here - go to better stores in Berlin.

Alles Mitarbeiter waren sehr nett 😊

I enjoyed walking through here though I was expecting more. There are some really great brands that I buy from often here like Sandro, Maje, and Boss plus some more local brands. It was a challenge to ever find a sales associate for assistance so I ended up not buying anything.

High-end department store with a food court. The food court did not look busy and none of the food seemed fresh. It doesn't look like many people visit the shopping center judging by how empty the center was. Also, most of the food on display looked several days old. -- Tourist from the U.S.A.

Certainly not like Galeries Lafayette Paris, but still a pleasure to meet the department store in a "mini version" in Berlin city. In particular, "Le Gourmet" in the basement is pleasurable 🇫🇷

The only reason we visit this place regularly was because of the availability of diaper changing facilities. They removed it now for some time, for absoltely no reason - I take that as a signal that they prefer not to have young children as visitors. A big mistake, doubt any young families will return. Otherwise, the place is an old tired luxury mall from the 90s. Many stalls in the basements are without tenant, they are forced to display vegetables and mineral bottles so it does not look too desolate. The management of the mall seems to have no idea how to refresh the place and attract younger crowds. With the property sold to an American property investor, the lack of luster and visitors meant this icon of the past is on death row. Not recommended.

Good place to walk in and do some shopping for clothing and accessories. Feels a bit tiny for such a store but it is probably the way you would in any store in the center of the big city. Interesting architecture of the building with the well like structured center of the rounded space.

I was surprised to find a proper french cafe with reasonable price in the end of the mall. Pastries and Macarons are great, coffee is perfect. It has a supermarket floor which sells all french items but in higher price.

Just like KaDeWe is the fancy selection and options a part of me needs sometime. I was coming here for the exclusive brands in the cosmetics floor but then I discovered the underground food court/gourmet supermarket. Nice salad options for lunch time, I pair it with two macarons when I feel fancy. They have sushi, quiche, bread etc,..

Galleries Lafayette fails on sustainability over and over again. I am curious to know when they will finally adopt sustainability principles and stop using plastic packaging or at least gradually scale down. I am terrified looking at the fridge part save the packaged sweets etc. Climate emergency does not seem to be on their agenda. It is a pity! It really is

A nice and upmarket mall for all kinds of consumer goods. Even the food and ingredients are of high standard. This is a good place to get variety of French wine although it may be little expensive. The mall is distributed over different floors. Loved my shopping experience here.

The upscale shopping center for big spenders. This Parisian branch of luxurious department store is in East Berlin along Friedrichstraße, where East meets West. This Friedrichstraße was almost in rubbles after WW2 but at present it looks gorgeous after years of reconstruction and refurbishment , turned into modern architectural structures. Galeries Lafayette building is with glass façade that looks very different from the old nostalgic buildings around the vicinity. The atmosphere here is very international with all famous world designers of clothings, bags, accessories and perfumeries. All-you-can-buy and can-afford, only for the rich! They have bars and cafes and restaurants in the basement. I come here only for their cakes and tortes and cafe ay au lait which is very authentic.

Worst customer service ever! The cashier at the bottom floor couldn't even understand what I meant when I told him that I buy something as a gift. He even did not remove the anti theft device and I was going around like this. IT IS UNACCEPTABLE to not provide gift receipts in a store like this and u would had to have the normal receipt with price.

I buy groceries here - good variety. Although, some items from carrefour are 3x compared to the original price. For some stuff, it’d be cheaper to hop on a plane to France 😂 Minus star for the lack of crowd management: the customers throughout is very low even with five active cashiers..

The food hall in the basement is such a classy place. I visited last week my teenage daughter and revelled in the vast array of French cheese on offer. Colton Bassett was flying the flag for British cheese along with Twinings tea, and Wilkin & Son jam and lemon curd. My daughter had coffee and cake, but after walking nearly twice my daily steps target for the day, I had a very well-deserved lemon tart with a delicious glass of Sauternes as recommended by the sommelier in the wonderful wine cafe, full of locals and dedicated wine buffs. The perfect place to go after a visit to Checkpoint Charlie.

I really like shooping here, specially the food court! I once had a bad experience here while I was shoping with my girfriend. We got shouted at suddenly, without a pre warning, by a quite temperamental lady that works there, the reason being that apparently we could not use the cosmetic testers because of coronavirus. We were not aware of that because we missed the very small sign that said it, but it was quite a shock nonetheless to get shouted at. We complained at the Information desk and the lady there knew straight away who we were complaining about. There are always rotten apples in the basket, so unfortunately I have to take a star because of that, since I find it inaceptable that something like that happens at a luxury department store like this. If I want to get shouted at, I can go to any street market or to Görlitzer park at night, but when I go to galerie lafayette to buy expensive makeup and clothes, getting shouted at does not really fit in my plans. On the positive side, they have a nice makeup selection and they stock my favourite designers (the kooples, maje, sandro, zadig and voltaire) so that’s nice. And don’t forget to visit the food court!

Nice to have a Galeries Lafayette outside of France. This one is smaller but has an expansive collection of items. They have a few designer boutiques, Gucci, Chloe, Ferragamo, MCM, lots of sunglasses and cosmetics like La Mer. Downstairs is a cafe and restaurant as well as a grocery store with French products. It’s quite pricey so if you are coming for bottled water, don’t buy it here. But if you want spices, madeleines and other French goodies, this is the place to go. Upstairs they have clothing and brands like Elisabetta Franchi, Reiss, Polo, Zadig and others.

Big cupola in the middle of the main store, show piece reminding of the glass dome at the Paris branch, forms center piece of surrounding indoor boutiques, hats, scarves, bags and jewellery on main floor, food and drink one floor down, brand stores down in the corridor. Interesting for some exploration and window shopping, take away food selection mediocre at best. Pricey. Still, nice visit.

Compared to the original this one is quite sad. Especially the part they call "Gourmet". They microwaved my quiche that wasn't even really fresh. The croissant's were much more expensive than the chef made incredible ones sold in Paris and taste like one from Lidl or Aldi ...... Don't think i need to say more. I was sold an expired lipstick today, produced in 2019. Everybody knows YSL lipstick expires three years after its produced, and 1 year after It's open. However, people working here say it's normal to sell expired product. They don't feel sorry at all. They just gave me my money back, and said it's end of conversation. I said it's not allowed according to law, but they said they don't know about the law... They said it's not my business to sell expired product, but their business. They also told me to check date before I buy it. Okay then it's obviously the victim's fault. Their attitude was always "You already have your money back, what do you want?" Well, then there's nothing more I can say. Btw the lipstick is unused. I can return it anyways, it's not like I should be thankful I can return it...
