The two guys working there were super nice, but unfortunately the boss lady was not. She was really rude to us and she does not speak any English. She enters the bathroom and the rooms at any time she wants, without even knocking (and leaving the door fully open). The morning of the check-out (before 10.30am) she came into the room and she started grabbing our stuff while we were still packing. They closed the kitchen facility without notice so we got there with all the groceries without being able to cook them in any way. The kitchen does not have the stove. The bathrooms are separated for boys and girls and they are super equipped with everything you might need.

One of the cleanest hostel I've been in. Showers are not so practical, shared bathroom, without anything to hang your stuff to keep them dry. Comfy bed, small but functional kitchen, cosy common area. Great artwork on the walls.

Awesome hostel and staff! After multiple recommendations we chose this hostel for our stay in Berlin. Couldn't have done any better. Friendly staff who can help you with everything from sightseeing and parties to the best breakfast places. And the hostel itself is very clean and friendly. Good value for your money.

Great location, clean and friendly. Fantastic for groups, but our double room with shared bathroom was really good value for money too :) Comfy beds and a little sitting area for tea and snacks. The shared lounge area was also comfortable and inviting. Would definitely recommend!

The location of this hostel is great, and the hostel is nice, however, I had a terrible experience with the guy at the front desk. The day we arrived, the public transportation was not running. We arrived from another country and got to the hostel at around 2am after navigating to the hostel without public transport. The guy who opened the door immediately started to be very rude and to fight, threatening that if he wanted to he could have left us to sleep in the street. Next, he said that in Berlin it’s safe to sleep in the street but he said that he knows there are people slaying people in the streets in my country. I was very offended by this rude comment. Someone welcoming people from all over the world to their hostel should have more respect for people than to speak negatively about other peoples countries. Not a good experience with this worker at all.

I had to cancel 36 hours before my stay as I contracted COVID 19. The hostel charged me for my entire two night stay even though I explained this to them. I understand having a cancellation policy (48 hours prior) but it was a) not outlined clearly on the HostelWorld site where I booked, and b) should absolutely have a waiver for illness, especially in these times when we are supposed to be preventing the spread of COVID. What did they want me to do? Come and stay and infect all the other guests? Honestly don’t understand how hostels can do this with a clear conscience.

The best hostel in all of Berlin. Common room is cozy and comfortable, and staff are responsible and caring. Great place to meet other travellers + the rooms are large and well kept. Stayed for 6 nights + can't recommend it enough. Would stay again for sure.

Such a cute hostel, feels like a very well kept share house. Fresh flowers every week, a beautiful record player, selection of teas and sanitary items/makeup wipes always stocked in the women’s bathroom. The best attention to detail, will be back!

Such an amazing stay. The hostel is in a really lively and vibrant neighborhood with easy access via metro to central berlin. The staff were so helpful upon check in and throughout my stay. The showers have awesome water pressure and the beds are very comfy. I would definitely recommend to other backpackers wanting to stay in Berlin. Wish I could've stayed longer.

Clearly a place that does NOT care for the health and safety of their guests & employees . As I was tested COVID positive 3 days prior to my stay there I kindly asked them to cancel my reservation in order not to put anyone on risk. What was there ( quite) rude answer... ? "WE DON'T CARE! We will not cancel your reservation and do what you like..." Unbelievable !!

Very clean! Lovely, helpful staff. This is actually one of the best hostels I’ve stayed in.

I have stayed at multiple places in Berlin but Kiez Hostel is by far my favourite. Good location close to shops, clubs, pubs and public transport and the staff is incredibly nice. They accidently threw out my food (to clean the fridge) yet gave me money to buy new groceries. Bathroom and kitchen are clean and great if you stay for a longer period. Will be back!

I am literally sitting in their common area while writing this review. There is a Kitchen which you can use till 10am. Very very friendly and helpful staff. Its my second day here, still got 2 more nights left. So far its been a great experience. I will update if anything changes.

Hostel with a nice vibe. Mostly friendly personnel. People did a jam session together which was pretty fun. :) There is even a kitchen and a nice community room. The beds could be more comfortable thought and the old granny which i think owns the hostel or her daughter, is very annoying.

A nice clean hostel that feels very safe. The staff are very organized and responsive and do an impressive job.

Split opinion on this place. Lovely warm people, vibe and atmosphere. Not worth the price I paid €38 for a dorm. I understand this was due to an event last week. Under normal rates I would definitely stay again.

This is the best hostel I've stayed in. The staff, Kathi, Leo, Mina and Imke are all extremely nice and give the place a really great vibe. Kathi even went above and beyond to help us pay a parking fine we received but could not pay because it was in German. The staff always had smiles on their faces and asked how our days were going. The facilities are all very clean with comfy beds, great showers and a nice kitchen and communal area. The other people staying in the hostel were also very social and we often went out to bars and clubs together. It is obvious that the staff put a lot of effort into this place and I will definitely be staying here again when I am in Berlin.

Very welcoming experience! It's my last night in Berlin and this hostel was honestly like home to me. Super super comfy beds (I didn't want to get up), the rooms are very clean and they get cleaned every morning and the staff provides you with a towel. The place creates a sense of belonging. Lockers are very helpful as well to secure your belongings! Great location. Just 5 minutes or less from Warschauer Strasse station. Nights could be a bit cold, though! Maybe we should add a blanket or sth! Ευχαριστώ, Kathi! Αν ξανάρθω, θα έρθω σε εσάς!

Absolutely loved this place! In a great area very close to the train station. Great places to eat nearby. Great coffee at a Vegan place nearby. Not to mention all the action at night is down the road yet the Hostel is still in a nice quite area. Super clean, and very comfortable. Staff are amazing! Felt like a second home! I definitely recommend this place and would definitely be back!

We got there late at night, but with their instructions we got to our rooms very easily. The atmosphere was very nice.

Went to go see a friend staying at the hostel. Hosted by great people and the place is cosy. Real family vibes and met some great people as well. Will defo be back again next trip to Berlin!

Good room, not great. Bathroom situation is wierd but okay. The cleaners coming unto the room at 10 am and being loud for about a half hour, vacuuming is unacceptable.

Everyone here was wonderful. The place is sparkling clean, entryways are secure and easy to access at any time. I hope to make it back here again someday soon!

Cosy not too large hostel with very pleasant owners. Good availability of showers for the number of guests. Bathrooms can be a bit dirty at times. Like other reviewers have mentioned, this hostel also has some longer term guests who tend to consider the dorm as their personal room, so expect some sock smell and blasting music on laptops

Hostel Kiez was a Fairly average hostel in my opinion. That is not a bad thing. Staff was friendly, clean bedsheets were provided, and there was a very cramped kitchen. Relatively affordable ~20€ per bed (August 2018). The showers and bathrooms were clean and there was a nice social area with books, a piano, and a common dining room

This hostel was lovely. I stayed in both the double room and the women’s dorm. The double room was off in its courtyard and was very nicely designed, and the platform bed was super comfortable. The women’s dorm was clean, large, and bright— and there were sweet touches like free toiletry supplies. The common area was large and cozy. The fresh tulips on the table were so pretty! The staff work really hard to keep the place clean and efficient. They were also super kind and understanding in allowing me to keep my bag and spend time in the common area after I had checked out. Thank you, Kiez, for the hospitality and very restful stay!
