Edit April 17, 2024: Premium Fitness continues to abolish itself. From June 1st, 2024 there will no longer be a towel service. As a justification, they have chosen the currently popular standard excuse of CO2 footprint and resource conservation, which is also highlighted in green on the information poster, which apparently is supposed to increase the significance and appeal to our conscience and which is just as cheap and stupid as the price we have been paying up to now Had to pay for it (€49.90 a year, so anyone can count on 10 fingers that it doesn't pay off). You just have to save money everywhere so that the investors are kept in line, for example with the architect and the construction company who recently "renovated" the wellness area and which now needs to be improved due to the possibly "cheap buys twice mentality". The club is gradually degenerating into a mass gym where the cash cows Urbansports, Gympass etc. are milked, certainly more than 50% of those present are not real members (and the real members sometimes can't find lockers in the evening or have to wait) , instead of maintaining and improving the quality of the offer. Disappointing!

No frills gym at a premium price. Only go if you plan to use the pool a lot (provided it is open). Employees just stand around talking to each other most of the day. They don’t fix the equipment (even some of the new equipment is already malfunctioning). They don’t enforce the mask policy. They don’t organize the weights. The staff seem mostly concerned about everyone getting the proper number of towels. If you’re serious about lifting, there are much better options nearby.

Twice now before the gym closed a man walked into the women's locker room to announce closing in lieu of simply standing outside it and saying as much and startled several unclothed women. Find this super unprofessional harassment and the staff was completely unapologetic and entitled about this behavior when confronted, instead of apologizing and acknowledging that they barged in several minutes before closing, simply because they felt entitled to do so.

Additive: The studio operator tried to have my objective review removed by claiming on Google that I was never a member. Of course I could refute it. Pretty pathetic. I've been a member for over a year now and canceled again. The trigger was that it was no longer possible to park for free in the adjacent parking garage. Of course I sought the conversation. The branch manager informed me that the operator of the parking garage had changed and that they could not come to an agreement with them. When I pointed out that the other tenants of the center could also manage it, I was told that these businesses also pay for it. Well then maybe Holmes Place would have to do that too. I also think that the studio doesn't live up to its premium standards. Of course, the free towels and the availability of shower gel and hairdryers are great, but the narrow cabin in which you constantly have to push past other guests or the moldy silicone joints are not exactly premium. I also found the cleanliness to be underwhelming.

They hired some lawyer and LIED TO GOOGLE about me in order to remove my last negative review. I imagine I’m not the only one with a negative review they’ve dishonestly removed through lobbying in an attempt to manipulate their rating on Google, so take their score with a grain of salt. The gym has a bizarre distribution of equipment (e.g. a huge section of unused “E-Gym” machines, but only two bench press stations, two deadlift stations, etc) that causes long waits during a workout. For example, today I waited more than ten minutes to be able to start my workout despite the gym being quite empty. The equipment quality is also fairly mixed. Membership does not include classes in the first floor studio, and unlike every other chain gym I’ve ever joined, it does not include visits to any other Holmes Place location; that’s yet another extra fee of course

The Gym itself is good, even though not as “premium” as the Holmes place membership price suggests. I like the new sauna area. Only 3 stars because - as mentioned already by many other reviewers - the front desk staff is usually pretty unfriendly, never smiling, rather having a harsh attitude. Maybe because I come with an USC membership?! I don’t expect any spectacular treatment but some basic friendliness and smiling back definitely doesn’t hurt :)

Scandalous! I'm a member since 3 years and over the Corona-time, Holmes Place really became a scam. Here's why: - I quit my contract LAST MONTH, with taking the notice period of 3 months into account. Yet they let me pay until end July 2022, that means they consider a NOTICE PERIOD OF 10 MONTHS (???). After being a member for 3 years! And literally not agreed in my contract. - During Corona, they have been closed for a long time. They have been very vague and uncommunicative about what happens to the monthly contribution you pay. You really need to dig deep, call, email, everything, to find out that every month they adjust their policy regarding this, and every month you need to do this digging again. I paid quite some months contribution while they were completely closed, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. - They have been offering free months of memberships to attract new members during the Corona time (while still receiving contribution from existing members even when they were closed!). Gym and sauna were overfull and made me feel not safe at all. - When you try to reach them (money, but also about Corona rules etc) they are UNREACHABLE. They simply don't pick up at ANY of the phones they have. They reply on emails, super vage, without even saying a simple 'hello'. I have a business myself, and if I would reply to my customers' email like this, I would be completely ashamed of myself. As you can see, they became super money-centered and you really feel that. It was a nice gym before but at this point you can rather spend less money at FitX and get probably a better customer service. Not good at all.

It was so full during all spring and summer. We couldn't find a place starting from the dressing room, swimming pool and some classes were unreachable. Unfortunately we were disappointed because of the rebuilding works during the summer season in the dressing room and we can't sometimes visit a shower. They closed half of the shower cabins. We paid a lot for this gym and it doesn't cost it at all. After we canceled our subscription we understood that they let in people with a silver subscription in gympass and I guess that is why it was so full. We felt cheated, so we expected to pay a higher price so that it was not so crowded, the pool, and middle segment. and it turned out that this was the worst experience in gyms that we got for big money. And it is very dishonest and ugly to take and write in gympass that only Gold subscribers are allowed, but in fact Silver also goes. Also forgot to mention that staff was not as friendly as written in comments and we never felt comfortable to ask something, because they always looks arrogantly.

Holmes Place. All of your advertising is full of white stereotypes. Even your inclusion advertisement, which says people of all kinds are welcome. I think you need to think a bit more about what makes people of all kinds feel welcome. A hint, walls full of pictures of people that do not look like them is not it!

It’s a solid gym with a pool and sauna. The weights/equipment are is not the largest but they do have a good amount of equipment and also a free area to do your thing. They also added a couple power plates you can use. My recommendation would be to try to go at off hours if you have a plan of specific stations you want to use as it is small and you might need to wait around otherwise wise. For sone of the less „general“ machines they often only have a single one.

This gym really disappointed me after a while. It is presented as a premium fitness studio and therefore has a hefty monthly price. However, it is very crowded and dirty in the shower, sauna and sanitary areas. In addition, individual rooms such as saunas, the pool or sports equipment are constantly unusable due to damage. The towel service for members is also not always reliable. Despite a towel fee that you have to pay, you often have to bring your own towels because there are too few or none available. In addition, as a member, I was not able to make use of the special right of termination in the event of an increase in contributions, as the increase in contributions was simply waived for me "as a gesture of goodwill" due to my termination. So the studio avoided my cancellation and is now letting me pay contributions for another 8 months because my membership has automatically been extended by one year. Early termination excluded. As long as I'm still paying I'll go there a few more times, I have no choice. After that, this studio will never see me again, that applies to all Holmes Place Studios. It's unbelievable how Holmes Place treats long-time members and what you have to put up with for such a high fee.

DON’T GO TO THIS GYM!!! I went two days ago and I left my belongings in the locker. As When I finished my workout I realized that someone opened my locker with a master key and he stole everything I had inside. It happened also to another guy at the same time. Now the manager is saying that they don’t have any responsibility about our stuff and also the insurance of the gym is not covering the damage when it was a failure of its security system.

The cleanliness has deteriorated significantly recently. There is a strong smell of urine, especially in the changing rooms and toilet areas. In addition, many of the training machines are in a questionable condition, some even completely dirty. These deficiencies are in clear contradiction to the high standards one would expect from a premium studio. The introduction of the urban sports program has exacerbated the problem of overcrowding. The studio areas are often overcrowded and the training options are therefore limited. This leads to frustrating wait times and an overall unpleasant training experience. It was recently announced that towels will no longer be provided starting June 1st, ostensibly in the name of protecting the environment. This is a huge disappointment for me personally, as one of the reasons I chose this studio was so that I wouldn't have to go to work with wet towels after training. The fact that this is now considered a "fringe benefit" and that contract termination is not possible is extremely annoying. Overall, I have to say that the quality of the studio has declined significantly in recent years. The once premium experience has given way to a disappointing reality marked by lack of cleanliness, overcrowding and questionable decisions by management.

I'm disappointed with this gym's lack of benches and designated areas for squatting and deadlifting. It's frustrating to see the constant lines and limited availability for these essential exercises. If the gym would provide a couple more benches and allocate space for squatting and deadlifting instead of underutilized machines, it would significantly improve the value for money. The most used tools in every gym should receive proper attention, yet there are only a few of them here. It's disheartening to witness the neglect of these crucial workout elements, in what is supposed to be a high stand gym. I often find myself waiting for extended periods, unable to complete my routine efficiently. I urge the gym management to prioritize the needs of their members by addressing this issue promptly. Adding a few more benches and creating designated areas for squatting and deadlifting would go a long way in enhancing the gym experience and justifying the investment. In conclusion, I hope the gym takes this feedback into consideration and makes the necessary improvements. The atmosphere is already very good, but by providing adequate bench and squatting areas, the gym would become a more appealing choice for those seeking better value for money.

After I even continued to pay in solidarity during the lockdown and did not leave, I have now unfortunately had to resign in view of the sensible Corona requirements and the overall situation. Staff behaves as if they are too cool for the customers and the floor in the spa area is ALWAYS horrendously disgusting (Bring shower sandals especially here!) I’m not getting a premium feeling from this place. One star is for the perfect calisthenics area.

I like the gym itself - the stuff is just so unfriendly and always gives you the feeling you are not welcome, and you are worthless 😅 I thought first this is maybe a classification thing as I first was with USC, but also to their members they are super weird. This is so wrong placed in a institution like this, as when you go out of your comfort zone, coming to a gym you don’t want to have the feeling you are the worst. I tried it several times to be nice in the first place but i always get super short answers or a annoyed face. IDK why this is like this ….

I have been a member for almost a year, and to be honest the only reason that I am still a member is because there are no options close to my flat. The Gym overall is not bad, but if you consider the price point, what you get is not sufficient in my opinion. The bad: • It happens more than once that the shower had no soap (and once there were no towels, so you basically cannot take a shower). I understand that it can happen but when I made the staff notice that they started to argue with me that "the gym closes at 21 in the weekend" and it was 20:30 (so what? the soap closes at 20?). Not being able to take a shower is a big deal, it should not happen. • Some basic equipment is lacking: Rubber bands are either missing or broken the majority of the time (when there is like one in the entire gym). Metal collars to close barbells: half of them are old and very hard to use. 1 foam roller. Squat pads for the barbell are low quality and always half broken. I would not complain about those things if it was some low end gyms. • After almost a year nobody ever asked me anything and the few times I interacted with them the were overall impolite. I only got an intro session at the beginning with a trainer and the level was poor. • Pool was out of service for almost 2 months The good: • Overall good and new machines • Has a pool • Saunas are nice Overall the Gym is not bad, but if you wanna be a "premium" gym, given the price compared to competitors you need to have better service.

(Translated by Google) I just entered for two years because I was looking for a place where I can swim in peace. Unfortunately, far from it because the bathroom is overcrowded, at least in the times when I swim 2-3 times a week. Been in public swimming pools for years and thought I could improve. When I signed the contract, I was also told that swimming was possible there. Since I really only swim there and use the steam bath and nothing else, I can only judge this with a star. The other areas may be better. When I go swimming it is the same or worse there than in the public baths: loud, full, dirty. It feels like there are always external courses that take up half of the pool. There is hardly any space in the changing room and the sauna area is also overcrowded. Unfortunately, nothing is exclusive here except the price.

(Translated by Google) The club is really getting old. Everything is already slightly rotten ... Embarrassing that this club of all people wants to be "premium" and calls up corresponding tariffs. The pool is always full, in fact swimming is not possible. The reason for this are EXTERNAL swimming courses. As a member, you look into the tube. I have never experienced something like that! The communication between customer and "management" does not take place - inquiries or complaints are not answered. Conclusion: If you want to do device training, you can also go to McFit, where you can get the newer devices. If you want to swim, you can also go to the public swimming pool. It is also not full and you save a lot of money.

It's all nice until it lasts. Was a member for 4 and a half years. At the moment of quitting my contract with the usual notice period (3 months, it's 12 months only in the first 2 years of contract) they tell me I have to pay for another 1 year (not true, they just try probably with everyone). They didn't event send me the confirmation of KĂźndigung otherwise I would have noticed the mistake. Impossible to reach administration. Proper scam behaviour. Stay away from them.

It is a decent gym, price is high but I think it's worth it, contract obligation length is quite long tho. Seems to have a lot of equipment, but somehow I find other cheap gym I go to, to have better quality of equipment as well as sanitary. I would recommend to add soft layer on top of wooden floors as when weights hit the floor, it feels like bomb has fallen. Especially when someone is doing deadlifts next to you. Other gym also offer bracelet instead of card, because card is easy to lose and it's annoying to carry it around. Dumbbells are always out of order and mixed up, seems like attendants have no discipline and staff doesn't care either. The sauna is nice, but always overcrowded, seems like this is a place where old people come just to relax in sauna most of the day and not to train, but I don't judge. Maybe if gym offered discounts for older people, that wasn't the best marketing strategy tho. The steam sauna isn't working, apparently for a while, and doesn't seem to be fixed anytime soon. Sauna area has weird, unpleasant smell. Towel service is convenient. I will still continue using this gym as I decided to use other gym for lifting weights and sauna, but then use this gym for the pool as it's ok for me to do training and then for the cardio part, to bike to this gym and swim to complete my training. Would love to see improvements before quitting other gym and completely dedicate to this one.

Do NOT sign a contract here. They are crooks!! Despite having my back account details they have messed up taking out monthly payments three times. Then they tried to charge me addition fees because they didn’t take out the payments. I paid the balance and was told everything was fine. Today one year later I got a letter form a collections agency demanding almost 2000€. This place is terrible. On top of that they also close the pool and the sauna form weeks or months on end, but they still dare to charge the full 119€ / month. They are evil. Go anywhere else!

Well they are very good at deceiving. I had mixed experience. Yes, gym is big and appear to accomodate many people but whenever I went for swiming in summer I barely could use pool. Bathroom showers are very poor quality. Also you have to be very updated about the changes there. Worst is their customer support, which is not very supportive when you try to terminate your membership there.

What is very annoying is that members of Urban Sports and similar providers have access to the studio. As a result, it can sometimes be very full, which is a shame given the high fees, especially if you don't use the pool. You can actually go to Super Fit, they also have a sauna and cost more than €50 less per month

The towel service was a key factor in my decision to become a member. The fact that this is no longer available is a bitter disappointment. In addition, the studio is far too full, there is always a terrible crowd in the changing room and sauna, and there are waiting times for the equipment. Equipment (e.g. cardio bikes) is often broken for a long time and the cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. “Exclusive” and “premium” are different, I will look for an alternative.

Cleanliness is sometimes neglected. Some members don't seem to know the normal rules of behavior in the club. Swimming in boxer shorts, you can smell perfume “for miles” in the pool and towels are simply left in the locker room and not thrown into the designated containers. Basically, Holmes Place can't do anything about the behavior of these people. However, they have house rights and should take appropriate measures. When asked a Holmes Place employee about it on site… Answer: “We can’t do anything about it. I should write a review on Google. As a rule, this is responded to by those responsible." I don't find this approach by Holmes Place professional, but it does reflect their mismanagement. I fear that the negative development of the last few months will continue in this Holmes Place.

(Translated by Google) Holmes Places was really good many years ago. I am now very dissatisfied. You can only use one location, Ostkreuz was completely overcrowded before Corona, not cleaned regularly, the tone is sometimes too loose and distance, critical information is sealed off, during the Corona period there was no email or information and in it More money was just collected each month. While other studios have reduced the monthly contribution on their own initiative. Mail that I sent by post a month ago because of a contractual matter has not yet been answered. Telephone contact. Not possible, not even at headquarters. Unfortunately no longer recommended. (Original) Holmes Places war vor vielen Jahren mal richtig gut. Inzwischen bin ich sehr unzufrieden. Während andere Studios den monatlichen Beitrag von sich aus gesenkt haben. Been here for 4 months now, first a trial month and then via Urban Sports. The gym is decent – quite big and the equipment is good. Swimming pool is nice. Showers are not modern enough for a “premium” gym and they can be a bit nasty sometimes depending on the time of the day. The worst thing is that the air conditioner never works on the top (gym) floor. The ventilation pipes above the pool look super nasty, and have probably not been cleaned ever – acceptable in a 15€/month basement gym but not for an acclaimed “premium” one. Staff at the reception are usually kind, but 20% of the time they can be really rude (but hey, we’re in Berlin after all). Super long contracts with a 12 month cancellation period. For 60€/month this would be a great deal, 75€ could even be ok with 1 month cancellation, but 90€ is just a complete robbery.

Avoid this place or don't take anything valuable with you!!! My stuff (jacket, cellphone, wallet, etc.) got stolen from the locker in the changing room. There was at least one other gym user whose things got stolen at the same time on Oct 4th, 20:30 - 22:00. Everything has been reported to Holmes Place and the Police. The reception staff was helpful, however, the management doesn't think they are in any way responsible for the security of their guests and their belongings! Shameful! Also, I have heard that the police was already there for theft - too late for me.

I am thrilled with this fitness place. The course offer is great, with plenty of options. Wellness area, swimming pool, workout area are pretty looked after and well maintained. Recently they have added quite a few brand new machines. However, the most important thing - for me personally - is just how nice, welcoming and friendly staff are. The club management is attentive, trainers are just lovely, also maintenance and cleaning team. I am so happy to have chosen this place! Well done guys and keep the hard work :)

Awesome! Last night this place saved my life. Well equipped with 4 different types of sauna (1 being woman only). The swimming pool is large, clean and not overcrowded. The staff was so helpful. Very good!

It's clearly far from premium but still the best this area can offer. The most annoying thing is the FOOD SMELL! Is it a restaurant or a gym? Fix your ventilation for God's sake. The second floor smells like curry and spices - that's not what I expect the air in the gym to be.

Nice and big pool. Also the gym is big enough. The showers are a mess. You call yourself a premium gym just to stand naked with 15 another men in an open shower that looks like a prison??? You also have to press the button every 5 sec to keep the water running - what kind of “premium” is that? They sell premium but the gym is average

Nice gym generally with a decent amount of space and a variety of machines, but have had multiple unsavory experiences with rude clientele in the locker rooms and genuinely unhelpful staff members. I will be the first to admit that it was my mistake when I forgot to bring my towel with me to the weight station, but having a male trainer sneak up behind me midway through a set with a heavy weight in my hands has to take the cake for dangerous and unnecessary gym behavior. I find it interesting that I’ve only witnessed these types of mid-workout interruptions happening to women in this gym…which begs the question, why? Nevertheless, if you ignore any “social aspects,” the gym is fine.

It's actually good there, but the changing area smells extremely unpleasant and it's simply not clean. It's certainly up to the visitors, but the problem should be sorted out. It belongs to a premium fitness studio that is clean everywhere so that you feel comfortable. I felt very uncomfortable in the changing area. Visits were in the evenings during the week.

Great gym. There is plenty of space for working out and it is not crowded. There are machines for absolutely everything. Some of them are doubled. The only thing missing are more benches, there are only 4 of them, for the size of the gym I think it should have at least 6 benches. There is a huge pool of 25 meters that is very nice with a good temperature. They have just opened the sauna and it is great, you can find a wet sauna and 2 traditional Finnish (dry) sauna, also there are cold showers. Best hours to go is in the morning and weekends.

I love the Storm Bootcamp class they have. Coaches have great energy. One Lenny favorite workouts in the area and it’s included with Urban Sports. Regarding the gym… too many machines, not enough space for a free workout. They need to make more space for a free workout and less machines

The swimming pool is definitely a big plus here. Another plus are the pretty neat changing rooms. (compared to discount fitness providers). Staff is so semi-motivated. And now the most important thing in the gym, the fitness area: unfortunately too small and therefore often overcrowded. The devices are nothing special and not very innovative (you can also find them at Fitx). Unfortunately not open 24 hours. Unfortunately, the price-performance ratio is not right here.

I have been a member since 2016 and really appreciate the club. The location at Ostkreuz is very easy to reach by public transport and there is a free parking garage next door for 2 hours (if you buy something at Kaufland). If you arrive by car you have to fight through bottlenecks due to the construction site. Since the pandemic and the cooperation with Urban Sports Club it has become very crowded, which is why I avoid the time between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m. because otherwise I won't be able to do my training. All in all, people are always very forgiving The personnel is very friendly and courteous. I also had an hour with a trainer for free. If you go there at lunchtime (if you can), it's really nice there and the swimming pool and wellness area are nice and quiet. I don't think it would be worth 80 euros a month or more, as there is no difference in occupancy compared to a "normal" studio during peak times. But that also has to do with the fact that I don't take advantage of the courses on offer, which is of course included in the price. Since I pay a reduced membership fee, it's absolutely fine for me as it is currently. ______________________________________________________________ Edit 2024: It has now become very crowded at peak times, probably due to the Urban Sports Club cooperation. I haven't been to the wellness area since 2020 because I have the feeling that it no longer has the same hygienic standard as before.

It is an absolute disgrace that the sauna area is opened an hour earlier (by the two bald men from the late shift) in order to finish work earlier. And every time. Can you please talk to the two colleagues? I worked in the service area myself and I would have received at least one warning for that

I have been part of this gym for over a year, going 4-5 times a week. It can get packed during peak hours (after work), but it is still manageable. Machines are always clean, and the gym constantly upgrades them, adding new material. Overall, the gym is in constant renovation. It might trouble some, but I see at as continuous improvement. Best gym I've been to in Berlin if you're looking to work out in peace. I haven't used the classes, but I've heard good things about them.

Unfortunately I only had time to go once as part of their 5 day trial, but what I’ve noticed is that it’s a very clean gym with lots of new equipment. Every staff member I met was very nice and welcoming and especially Alicia, an amazing personal trainer who not only took time to answer all my questions very helpfully and patiently but also came to check and ensure I’m getting on well, while she also took time to properly explain how different exercises work. I felt so comfortable and welcomed and she is one the main reason I would go for a subscription at this gym if I permanently lived in Berlin.

Dont make the same mistake coming here as a member. You pay over expensive membership price for a towel and you can come at the same place with urban sports and get the exact same service and you can also go elsewhere. The customer « retention » service talk to you as if you are worthless, brainless person. Don’t make the same mistake as me. Edit : What massage? There's no massage included in the abo.

Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience with the gym. I had a test membership for three months which suggested that you would get a full membership. Unfortunately, I had to discover that new guest cards are only issued every time I visit, with which I cannot use parts of the devices. Holmes Place blames it on the test membership provider, but writes on the landing page that you can pick up your membership card at reception.

Bad service and facilities. Got wrong advice when signing contract. Locker rooms closed for a week and temp. where in the entry area where everyone can see everyone, nowhere to lock belongings. Staff doesn’t care. Other clubs in Berlin are similarly bad or worse, with facilities closed for months. Stay away from Holmes Place.

Expect very quiet music like in a hotel lobby (not near anything suitable for a fitness club), no air conditioners, questionable level of cleanness and bit worn off equipment. This gym position itself like a kind of premium one, but is same level as the cheap ones. The real upside is that it’s not so packed (because it’s twice more expensive than any other), and only if you come early or late enough. Can’t really recommend, unfortunately.

The good - Pool, Sauna and super friendly staff. I could spend hours in pool and Sauna. There have been addition of new machines in last couple of months which is a nice change. I hope Corona dies soon and pool is opened again. One star less due to eve swimming classes. Please don't conduct swimming classes in the eve. It does not leave much space for others to swim during peak hours.

Moreover I have been trying to contact them but they reply using "no-reply" emails. They are providing no worthwhile service during this time and they should not be charging. Quite a good experience. The studio itself is not as stylish as all the other Holmes Place studios but still okay. Surprisingly quite trading experience. Not sure if it is worth to pay 80 bucks a month. Happy about the towel service. Showers are clean, sauna a refreshing part of your workout.

The Gym is okay, machines are a bit old, but there are some new ones. The pool is good, the sauna is kinda small, and it's often busy. Showers could be better concurring the subscription is almost 80 euros a month not a great value for the money. Would recommend going there but don't use their subscription, try Urban sports club or similar services.

Overall good, with one main issue. They don't have low impact cross training machines. Only machines which require extensive knee raising, and ankle turning. I am 53, and when on the cross trainer the whole point for me is less impact At Holmes.. the machines leg motion is more like running up stairs. It defeats the purpose of low impact. Yes. I can use the bikes. I understand these are low impact. But I today visited The Fitness Company, another Gym in Friedrichsien. Its a much more budget Gym... but... they have low impact Cross Trainers as well as the high impact ones. Holmes. You could get some of these in. Even if you just had 2 of these machines, It would be a 5 star review from me, and my wife. We both prefer these types of machines

A couple of times a week, to my dismay, I have to travel to this part of the city and I thought I can rely at the gym from the usual network, which I regularly visit in the different area. The big surprise was to find a horrible unhygienic gym, with a fungus in the shower, a rotting sauna, dirty towels scattered everywhere, and a toilet so stinky that it was impossible to breathe from the smell of urine. I don't think you can tell the difference between Warschauer Straße station and this place. Besides there are no homeless people laying in the corners, just piles of dirty toilet paper and smelly towels. If something like this would be called “premium” in the UK, you would be closed within one month.

Really lovely, large fitness centre with lots of natural light and no loud music. There are also tons of machines, although they are organised a bit strangely. Usually the gyms I have been to are organised into a leg area, cable area, shoulder area, core and abs areas etc., but here the machines are placed a bit randomly. Sometimes I have to walk back and forth across the gym to use the machines I wanted to use. But not a big deal. Sauna is really small so I would avoid on evenings and weekends. But nice and clean. Best for me is that there are 6 stair masters :D great for cardio day

I have been a member of Holmes Place for about 7 years, and it has been an incredible journey. The group fitness trainers here are exceptional – their high energy and motivation always ensure an amazing class experience. The variety of classes is great, but BODYPUMP and BODYCOMBAT are my personal favorites. These classes are a must-try for anyone looking to add some fun and intensity to their workout routine. Additionally, the staff at Holmes Place is very friendly and always willing to assist in any way they can. I highly recommend this gym to anyone looking for a great fitness experience.

loooove - especially since the renovation! but two tiny minus points from me are: there’s always some funky stuff floating around the bottom of the pool (perhaps an extra cleaning session?) and the early closing on weekends don’t make sense to me. less hours mean more people at any given moment in time. would be amazing to be able to hop in at 10:00 pm on a saturday night, knowing it might be more empty.

One of nicest fitness Studios but on week end may be too packed on the sauna area and so. I liked swimming there and , although I almost never train i enjoy the Spa area. There is also the possibility to take some things from the bar! Towels available for extra money like 1 or 2 euros max. Park for bikes is outside little car park too but would not count on it too much! :) You can ask for training day for free and if lucky a whole week like my friend did...

Was soll diese Maßnahme bringen? Soll mich das Nötigen eine Maske zu tragen, obwohl das für mich schädlich wäre?

The team there is awesome. Everything was adapted quickly to the new announcements, meaning more spots for group exercises :) They do everything to offer as much as possible for their members while complying with the current restrictions to keep things safe. I received notifications on changes in restrictions by the app and got instructed on how this is complied with at the club upon my next visit - in the friendliest way I could wish for! Deviatons in how the Covid situation is handled in between different Berlin gyms are huge. Regarding friendliness, offers for members and the provision of a good time, despite all current difficulties, this place stands out.

Those are my experiences of my first visit after a period that felt like ages due to Covid-19. I was welcomed and asked if I have been to the club since the lockdown. Since I haven't, I immediately got all instructions and was asked if I brought my own towel. All this was done in the nicest and friendliest way I could imagine. Walking through the locker rooms, fitness area and taking part in a class, it was obvious that Holmes Place paid attention to every detail and tried to solve any conceivable obstacle that could keep people from keeping distance. The marked walkways with directions for example and the marked areas in the group exercises. The trainer I took a class with was well instructed and checked participants lists, informed about disinfection processes. Everyone I met that day was very nice and helpful. It showed that everyone was doing the best to keep up with the current restrictions and to make the stay safe for everyone!

Decent Club: A victim of BAD design. In the men's shower there are natural earth tone tiles and then this silly fake wood sculpture in the center that looks ugly as sin and makes it very hard to navigate past the other bodies in the shower. It needs to be removed to that we have the freedom to walk past without being hit by blasts of cold or hot water, soap, shampoo or rubbing against others. Locker area suffers from a similar bad design with wide benches in the center meaning it is very hard to get in and out of the area. The designer clearly did not think about how these spaces would be used. The rest of the club could use a bit more equipment but it is nice. They very much need an ab-coaster.

I have to agree with my mate, I think someone is spamming with fake reviews. Got to Berlin just before Brexit and joined a club at the RingCenter, it was every bad thing you can imagine, dirty, rude, crowded and when I went to stop they presented a contract I have not signed. It has an obvious up and down rollercoaster of a fake signature. I refused to sign a German contract I could not read. I was so happy when I finally found Holmes. No more slogging wet towels, a proper pool. Always clean, there is a woman who works constantly. It was a bit fresh getting used to a woman in the men's but now I think of her as a mate, always with a friendly smile. Both the staff and the members are friendly and most speak English and to those complaining that it is busy in the evening, so is every other club in the entire world. Talk to people, share equipment and you just might find yourself heading out for a beer. This is, without a doubt, the finest, friendliest health club I have ever used. ...but you do need to fix the steam.

Okay, but could be so much better. Pros: the new techno gym equipment is good, the gym has a lot of space, the sauna is nice, the stretching area is very well equipped and spacious Cons: Missing some very basic equipment like a useable calf machine, hip thrust machine, hack or belt squat, lying leg curl machine etc… the old equipment (benches, plates) is unusable, a lot of the machines are not very good, there are only 2 squat racks, the kettlebells aren’t good. For what you pay per month you can expect more. They could improve the equipment and have a 5 star gym but haven’t for years.

Holmes place is a great gym. The staff is friendly and it is not too crowded. However, during the Corona time, altough holmes place claims to be premium, it offers the benefits that every other regular gym would offer in Berlin.

Decent gym, not worth the price they charge as you can basically get everything besides the sauna and pool at FitX around the corner for a fraction of the price. That said, it's usually not that crowded and it's always pretty clean and they have multiple saunas so it's definitely worth stopping by with Urban Sports Club or GymPass.

Holmes Place is a great place to recharge our spirits and health. I especially want to thank the receptionist, Marya for her patience and friendliness. Thanks to her help and professionalism, I was finally able to finding a place of excellence in Berlin. I hope you will also enjoy this place. With best regards, J.P

My Gympass membership got canceled through my employer and I was unable to access the gym. I was assisted by a pleasant lady at the front desk named Maria. She provided me access and was more than happy to suggest solutions. Day made 😎 awesome service.

Note: I visited Holmes Place as a tourist on a guest pass. So I am not familiar with the sales/contract process mentioned in other reviews. As a guest/visitor, this was really a perfect gym with good service and all the luxury amenities you could want: towel service, quality equipment, pool, multiple machines, big workout space, stretching space, multiple group fitness rooms, pool, sauna, steam room, not super crowded even during the afterwork rush, hot showers, bath products, food/smoothie bar, electronic locker system, phone charging stations. Really an A+ gym. Decent introductory pass system for first time visitors as well. It's a bit of a hike from central Berlin so it's a bit too far for me to frequent, unless I actually move to BER and end up working/living on the eastside. But this fantastic gym definitely makes a nice impression for the Holmes Place. I will definitely try the other locations. If I do move to Berlin this will be a top option.

Great gym with best swimming pool in berlin. The only thing missing is a chest fly machine which disappeared a few months ago, please bring it back. Other than a few strange old german people who give me discriminatory looks every now and then this gym is great.

Booked a first time tour and try out: Tour was super short and they didnt take the time to go through the membership details etc. Pool was cold and had a lot of chloride Too crowded including the sauna pool and showers Gym machines are good though but all in all definitely not a “boutique” gym

I come to this gym mainly for the swimming pool and sauna. It has a lot of good amenities, but they just don’t do a great work when it comes to maintenance. This applies to the entire Holmes place chain. As an example on this one the steam room does not work. For quite a while already.

Holmes Place at Ostkreuz is one oasis in Berlin. I've started going there at the end of January. They had a fantastic motivational teaser, where you collect a lot of rewards for coming regularly to work out. A clear win-win. Very smart marketing, costumers first approach. Personal trainers are great, I'd give a shout out to Daniel H. Classes are really good, pool is excellent, and you can't ask for more on the equipment front. Well done!

It’s a nice gym with good quality equipments and nice amount of space. However the wet sauna hasn’t been functioning for a really long time. Some of the shower buttons are broken, and it’s been a long time they are like this. These are some problems that are not so hard to fix.

Overall nice gym but not very well maintained at the moment. The steam room has been closed for years. The ice machine in the sauna has been broken for months and the room it's in smells bad. The floor outside the mens showers always has a big puddle of water on it.

It's better than many other gyms I the city but far from "premium," in my opinion. The bathrooms are always dirty, and there is very little free weight training. Everywhere is filled with machines, and in the little free corner, there is a punching box hanging. Also, there are only 2 paleo boxes in the whole gym. Many times, people have to wait for them to become available.

I have been a member for over 10 years and still enjoy training here. A few minutes walk from Ostkreuz, the studio is large and modern, with good opening times. Unfortunately, some things have gotten worse in recent years: 1) You always need new members, that's understandable. But now there are so many devices that it's hard to choose between them. And yet it's been so crowded in the evenings lately that there's hardly any space or you have to wait in line. With the price you would expect a more pleasant and quiet atmosphere. 2) The sauna area is new, with several sauna options depending on your taste; the showers are good; However, there is no drinking source, which would be important after the sauna - it's a shame that there is no longer any ice after the renovation. Problem: Unfortunately, the saunas are switched off an hour before the club closes, and that brings with it some inconveniences: If you want to go to the sauna after your workout, you are forced to train an hour earlier! The area is crowded! Closing the sauna area 15 minutes before the studio closes would be a better solution. It would also be nice if the staff pointed out that this is not a lounge for chatting: some guests talk as if they were on the street!

Giving a 2 reviews now as I just spoke with a very rude female who was absolutely unhelpful and rude as mentioned. I come from time to time to Holmes place as a non member on the evening because I just need the area for a short swim and sauna and not a day pass for 29 euros as I was just told. The woman was absolutely rude and last Saturday upon calling mostly for 6 times nobody answers. I will definitely call at an alternative time to speak to another member of staff so I can still come in the evening for 15 euros like I did last year.

😠 I am super disappointed with this membership. I pay €70.00 for the M package and my bookings are constantly canceled by my partner by email or telephone. Because it's full and I'm told that the club members have priority, even though I've booked a week in advance. I think it's cheeky when I book an...

😠 I've been there for over 15 years, but at most times it's now so crowded that relaxing training is no longer possible. 😠 I would prefer to give 0 stars. This one star goes to the nice trainers/staff.
