I strongly recommend against going to emergency room of this hospital specially on night shifts. - The waiting hour in emergency room is pretty long. We went there on 7.30 pm and doctor visited my wife at 10 pm. - I can see others also mentioned in reviews that the staff will not treat you well if you do not speak German. Well, multiply it by 10. My wife asked politely from the nurse in German, if she could speaks English so that my wife could explain her symptoms and the issue better. The nurse said "Nie" which means never!!! They forced her to tell her issue with limited German proficiency or she can leave. Is it a school and is the nurse a teacher forcing you to learn the language??? Medical & emergency issues could be the matter of life and death. The nurse should not force here preferences to patient. Also for god's sake English is made from German language, half of the words are almost the same. How on earth someone who had studied in medical and caring field can say "I don't understand English at all" ??? Also as far as I know the official language of EU is still English &surprise, surprise, Germany is in EU ... They took my wife's blood sample & gave her a partial treatment and told her to wait in lobby. After waiting for another hour (it is 1.30 am now), they told my wife that she was not there and doctor came to visit her & doctor could not find her and that's her fault that she left the room. The nurse was saying all of this while she was laughing ... We left the emergency room at about 2 am with no results and a paper indicating "The patient left the emergency room on her willing and doctor could not do further treatments".

This is a worst hospital. My wife had a second delivery in this hospital and the experience were horrific. My wife had a very good progress while reaching the hospital. We preferred water birth and the midwife there prepared a hot water in the tub and wife started sweating from the scalp and the babies heart rate went really high. I called the midwife and she asked to wipe my wifes face with a wet towel. She got cold and her body temperature increased. Even then the midwife does not agree her mistake or correct the water temperature. Then i asked my wife to step out from the water. Than the midwife realised she made some mistake beacuse the baby heart rate went really high and she started forcing my wife to deliver the baby as fast possible. By Gods grace baby was safe. The midwife has no knowledge about water birth and there was no support from the midwife. Even the ladies who serve the food were racisit and a very bad behavior, she was asking my wife to pick her own tea or milk from the pantry by herself and commented that you can do it by yourself as you didn't had a C-section. And the review letter after delivery they wrote that she didn't know german language leads to the complication in the birth. The staff are racisit. If you want to have a best birthing experience go to drk westend hospital but for that we have to book by 12th week of our pregnancy.

I have recently come to the hospital with a terrible stomach ache. I waited more than 2 hours in the emergency room. Once they treated me they did several studies. Supposedly everything was fine with me according to the doctors the pain was due to a common stomach pain and that in a couple of days it will disappear. They prescribed me medication. The following two days I continued with the excruciating pain so I decided to go to another hospital where I was treated immediately for an appendix surgery. So in this hospital the "doctors" did not realize that I had Appendicitis and that I needed urgent surgery ? I don't recommend it to go there !

I helped bring in a patient with a bleed to the emergency room around 6pm. they made us wait. Then after 30minutes they finally decided to evaluate the patient and severity. Then they finally directed us to a doctor on the second floor. No assistance whatsoever to a patient who was in pain and couldn’t walk. Once upstairs, we had to wait still for hours to finally sit with a doctor. No medication was given or infused. We were sent at midnight to no pharmacies open and the ones that were open told us they needed the medication to be ordered until the next morning. The patient had to go through a rough night and bare with pain.

I was overdue and I waited for 4-5hours for the 5 minutes examination on a not busy day. In fact, when the female doctor brought the male intern to the examination room, she did not communicate with me. She just ordered me to lie down. I had c-section, but they allocated the family room to the family who gave nature birth shortly ahead of me. Just think a little bit more, Which women needs a family to take care of her more? On the second day after my operation, I had to push the my baby to the diaper room outside the ward to change the child's diaper, and i need to go few times a day, because the nurses say this is mom job to do and i need to learn it. Is it rocket science? Why do I need to "learn" it so urgently? walk with the my c-section wound and the catheter was torture, I told myself I'm a mom now i should not to cry but it's so too much pain and i wish if i can have any sort of humanly help. Nurses check me up 3-4 times a day but it's all just to keep you alive when you're alone in the ward. My child is almost two years old now, but when I think about the delivery and inspection experience at that time, is still the worst days of my life and i wish no one else need to experience it.

The sisters are all very nice here, even if they are very stressed sometimes. The doctors are all good too. The food is also ok. You don't have high expectations in the hospital. The rooms could be a little cleaner, especially the bathroom.

After this, we were met another midwife, asked for possibility to do an epidural anesthesia, and again examined. So kam ich nach der Untersuchung in ein Vierbettzimmer auf der Geriatrie. So wurde ich, mobil und klar im Kopf, in ein Zimmer mit zwei schwerkranken, völlig bewegungsunfähigen Patienten und einem Schnarcher gesteckt. Ohne Ohrstöpsel und Schlafmittel hätte ich kein Auge zugetan. Der Toilettenwagen wurde ständig bei geschlossenem Fenster und offener Toilettentür benutzt. Wahrscheinlich ist die Toilette dafür ungeeignet. Der Pfleger war dann immer ganz schnell weg und hat die Patienten dann wohl auf dem Topf vergessen. Es war ein super Odeur im Zimmer. Die meiste Zeit meines Aufenthaltes habe ich neben der Kapelle auf dem Flur gestanden oder bin durch die Gänge gelaufen. Was mir dafür aber positiv aufgefallen ist, war das offene Tee- und Kaffeeangebot. Das Pflegepersonal war immer freundlich. Aber einmal reicht!

The doctor also gave a document which when presented to my employer confirmed that this is not a medical certificate. Not only that, In July, I received a bill for 15€ for the Crutches and Knee Brace which obviously i did not use. The doctor also refused to give me a medical certificate for the treatment till I involved lawyers after about a month of back and forth. The doctor and the hospital management of course lied about what they did when the issue came to the fore. It was clear that the hospital is a conduit for extorting unsuspecting citizens especially non Natives by issuing non needed medical items on behalf of other medical businesses at exorbitant prices. They do not offer genuine treatment nor concern for patients at this hospital. The waiting time at this hospital is out of this world. I had to go to another hospital to treat myself of the injury on my knee after these guys have wasted my time and resources and caused me great inconveniences. The hospital name and the realities on ground at this hospital is an insult to Martin Luther King whom and all the things he stood for. Avoid this hospital by all means especially if you are a non native German. You could save precious time, resources and massive inconveniences by doing so.

We delivered our first baby boy in MLK first week of June. The overall experience at the hospital was excellent and very satisfactory. The midwives in Kriesaal/Labor room were exceptionally trained, and more importantly very empathetic, optimistic. They all spoke perfect English and we never felt any discrimination. Nach der Untersuchung wurde ich auf eine Station verlegt und 1 Stunde später operiert. Alle Mitarbeiter des Krankenhauses waren sehr nett, freundlich und professionell! Das Krankenhaus ist sehr sauber, modern und schön eingerichtet. Die Erfassung der Vitalparameter erfolgt elektronisch, was viel Papierkram spart und Schreibfehlern vorbeugt - ich finde es sehr gut dass es so modern organisiert ist. Alles in Allem habe ich mich gut aufgehoben gefühlt und meine Beschwerden wurden zügig behandelt. Bis zur OP wurde ich auch mehrmals gefragt wie es mir geht und ob ich mehr Schmerzmittel bräuchte - Top! Ich war am 24. Dezember dort, die Krankenhaus Seelsorgerin hatte einen Violinisten organisiert der auf jeder Station ein kleines Weihnachtskonzert gegeben hat, ein sehr schönes Detail für diejenigen die an Heiligabend im Krankenhaus sind oder dort sogar übernachten müssen. Ich bin sehr zufrieden und würde dieses Krankenhaus wieder besuchen und auch weiter empfehlen!

They really think about patients, their comfort and health, try to care, help and even support psychologically, control all aspects of treatment all the time. Dies steht natürlich in keinem Befund und wurde mir auch bis heute nicht mitgeteilt. Lediglich mein Nuklearmediziner hat es mir mitgeteilt, da mein Körper kein Calcium mehr speichern konnte. Das heißt, ich hatte Krämpfe, mir fielen die Harre aus. Ich kam mir vor wie eine Krebspatientin die Chemo bekommt. ( Es wurde seitens des Krankenhaus so abgetan: die Nebenschilddrüsen wurden wohl angekratzt und zicken nun rum. Das gibt sich wieder) Ich habe seitdem Panikattacken und ich friere selbst im Sommer!!! Auch das stellte sich nach der OP als nicht machbar heraus. Wer es etwas netter und moderner mag kann auf den Komfortstation in der 5. Etage wechseln.
