Viel Platz für alle. Radfahrer, Kite-Surfer, Drachensteigen, Hunde, Griller, Jogger, Theater, Parties, Cricket, Basketball, ...

It's a Fun place to visit. You can ride your Bike or chill on the grass. Bring a Beverage and get a Tan. :) You can grab a bite to eat. The Food was really good and was the Beer. During the Summer it's very popular on the Weekends As a kid I used to Fly from this Airport.

In the weekend you can see Indian people playing cricket here. Sunny weekends has this park busy with a lot of people taking picnic, flying kites, Playing games, etc. it’s so huge that if you are a newbie coming for the first time it would be better to get exact location like a nearby shop and meet there And then come inside here

It is a brilliant 😉 place to hang out with friends or enjoy different sport like cycling, inline skates, skate board 🛼⛸️, flying kites 🪁 have a picnic 🧺 with the family, grill during sunny days too. Love of the concept of utilizing the old airport for such a beautiful social place.

300 hectares of green land within the city serve as a perfect outing space for every Berliner & tourists. Perfect place for cycling, skating, gardening & other sports activities like basketball, volleyball etc. Also, can grill in summer. Land also has historical significance. Once the park was used as a airport.

It’s a great place for sports and outdoor activity of any kind. Also activity for kids. Relax your eyes with a view of a big open space. Including all time of the day and weathers 🥰

One of the most beautiful places to be, during the summer, maybe even Fall. As you can see, old abandoned airport and lots of activities happening around. Here are some pictures of sunset during July. Just come, and experience it, you’ll love it!

Simply a wonderful public space that is designed for almost all occasions, activities, interests and many other things. Whether you wanna pray or you wanna do BBQ or you wanna have drinks with friends or run or skateboard, there is a place for you there. My favorite are the urban gardens area. No matter which season it is, people keep coming to enjoy their time here

An old airstrip used during and post Hitler's time to airlift, is today's happiest park/grassland/ open space in Berlin for youngsters and families alike. You always find people practicing different forms of skating 🛼 🛹. It's also a great place to grill. Several events like this kite festival🪁 taker place here.

great green space in the middle of the city. Its wonderful for watching the sunset, the sky looks incredible and you can look very far. I also love it for running, a loop is about 6K and its enough space for fellow cyclists, skaters etc. very comfortable to run

A remarkable park in the middle of the city. There's something for everyone, the community garden, the paths for running and rolling. Areas for grilling and grabbing a beer. It's really a cultural hub of the city.

This place is really awesome a day to relax or be active or both, then you are at the right spot. It's pretty cool that this place hasn't been killed by the real estate giants. So please respect this freedom given. Bring a little garbage bag to collect your waste and dump it in the profited trash containers. Save your planet and the wildlife that's on it. 🌍❤️

I love this place. Formerly an airport, now used for recreation purposes. Shows are held in the Concert area, while the runway is used for flying things like kites, or riding bicycles etc One thing I also love is separating the grilling area from the other areas, so you can grill without disturbing others. Its a massive place and entry is in different areas and free. Parking on the street adjacent to it is free, however, parking spots are hard to come by.

One of the largest field for people to spend leisure time in Berlin. It was an old airport. Now it's abandoned and this huge field is now one of the most popular spot to spend your time. People go there to do skating, riding bike, flying kites and so many stuff. If you are in Berlin, definitely you should go to this field specially in a sunny day. It's amazing.

Fanatic park to visit, if coming at sunset, best to walk West to East so the sun is on your back. There's a number of vendors with drinks and snacks, plus plenty of different areas to explore like dog sections and skateboarding areas. Immense area to do what you want, recommend biking or skating, of just to hang with friends. Maps at many of the entrances to show what is where

  • 5/5 Rutger van der L. 3 years ago on Google
The Tempelhof airport's buildings are mostly off-limits, the size of the place is impressive, all deserted? Who knows, perhaps some space is being repurposed, or still in use by airport authorities. Parts of the airport are open for visiting during opening hours. However the park outside is usually open for visiting. Truly, the airfield is a gigantic open space with copious amounts of room to play, picnic, walk, cycle, anything. There were guys riding surfboards with wheels, surreal. The takeoff and landing strips lend themselves for cycling, of which there is a lot going on, watch out for the racers :) There seems to be plenty activity happening around the field and I can imagine it can get pretty interesting, good for a half day's exploration. Nice visit.

A favourite place, such a weird and welcome addition to the already incomprehensible thing that's Berlin. The vast expanse with the larks, the impressive buildings, the reasonably priced eateries, the absent minded boys and girls dancing in the dusk. Do visit the public gardens in the northern part. It is an enchanted place with old school hippies, random music, educational greeneries, inexplicably friendly people and a commune like from the seventies. Jog here, learn how to ride a skateboard, lay in the sun, make new friends.

This would be an amazing place to skate if the municipality would invest pouring proper asphalt over the aged runways which are mediocre at best. As it is, only the west and east ends of the park have some areas with good asphalt and everyone just piles up over there while the rest of the park is almost empty. :(

This place is a good indication of what we could do after doom, from the obvious to the not-so-obvious, from letting the grasses grow to flying kites. But it also represents a small victory of the citizens over the dark forces of speculation.

Visita obligatoria si vienes a Berlín

Excellent for cycling, skating, running or just strolling. The only downside is the lack trees. I can imagine being hard to find a shaded spot during a hot summer day. The upside of this is that you can really feel that you are in an abandoned airport. Pedalling up and down the wide and long runways, turning around in the taxiways, stopping for a beer in one of the available places... It is just a great experience!

Super Duper Big Park. It used to be an old Airport. They have a couple of Dog only areas. Great place to ride your bike or even Skate around. They have a few Scooters and Ebikes you can rent at one of the entrances. Plenty of room for picnics and outdoor Birthday Party's considering we have to Distance due to Covid-19. I even brought my Cat so she could get some fresh air and explore a little bit.

  • 3/5 Olaf K. 3 years ago on Google
(Translated by Google) You realize how strange we Berliners are at times: We are happy about a large, almost empty area as if there was nothing like it anywhere else. There are often ice cream trucks at the entrances and exits in the north and south-east during the warmer months. In addition to the usual troublemakers (few noise emitters, many garbage container ignitors, various barbecues) there are toilets that can be used free of charge, demarcated areas for wild birds and dogs and various recreational athletes, to whom no one has yet revealed that they have even more space in the surrounding area (although they probably do nobody would have to take notice). By the way, don't worry about the closing times: The turnstiles on all sides of the field are set in the evening so that you can no longer enter the area, but leave it at any time (= they then only turn outwards). Conclusion: a lot of nothing to stroll and marvel at the sunset.

Very unique experience walking on a run way in the middle of a city like Berlin. Great for in-line skating, skating, cycling and any outdoor activity you can do on a big open field.

Best to visit around sunset. Lots of open space, but hardly any trees for a place to sit under the shade. Nice tracks for cycling and roller skates.

Very interesting and Berlin place. It’s a huge park, very luxurious to have one as such in the city center. It’s also very historical. I saw many family picnicking, playing, biking, walking and enjoying there.

Such a fantastic place I have available for people in the city. So much room and so open. Great place to train. For cycling or running and even excellent for chilling out with friends.

Former airport turned into a wide space for all sorts of activities and communities for the city. It's not your typical park with lots of trees but it matches the concrete jungle of Berlin. Great place for walks, running, cycling, skateboarding, inline skating, cookouts, frisbee, basketball, football, yoga, meditation, group workouts, Kyte flying, baseball, etc Definitely give it a try! When else will u have a chance to walk around on an airports departure train?

The grounds of the old Tempelhof airport are now used as a recreation park, and it's great! There is space for a lot of different activities, like a variety of sports, gardening, grilling, etc.

Great place, this is one of the most wonderful place in berlin for every sport or relax activity loving person. Huge space with dedicated places for any activity you can think of. Bike, run, skate, inline, volleyball, basketball, futball, dog walking and many more. There are many food stands where you can eat or just grab a bite and also many public toilets at every corner. Highly recommend

I love this place! In winter mostly a running track, in summer it turns into a big park and an open air zone for picnics, skating, cycling etc. it’s huge! Unbelievable that the planes were landing and taking off right where we run and walk now!

An ex-airport turned in the most incredible park in Berlin with one of the best sunsets. It's a place where you can enjoy time with family or friends and enjoy the time having a picnic, drinking a beer or just chilling around. There are also zones where you can make barbecue... And as it's a huge place, there is a lot of people who go there to make some sports, have a run, bike riding, Roller skating, and more. Sometimes there are music festivals, specially in spring and summer, you must check if they are free or not.

One of the best parks I've ever visited. Impressively large and flat, this old airport gives you a humbing feeling when you first find yourself in its middle. People do all sort of sports, some of them you've never seen before. It has a skate park, some small collaborarive gardens, basketball courts, music circles, slack liners, dances. And, of course, the sunsets

An awesome way to reuse the property of the old airport. It is open to the public for free. Walkers, runners and even people with sails (those who like wind sports) can use this park freely for exercise and to get fresh air. It is also a cool experience to run on the actual runways. There are even a few informational posts and placards posted about.

Excellent! You need to go there. You can bike, drink, mini-golf, barbecue, sing, dance, whatever you want. There is also an agility space for dogs.

Nice place to hang out, at the summer weekend evening feels like a music festival is taking place here: many people, music, chill. After the sunset got kicked out from the field by melolontha insects, that are apparently living under the ground and are curiously checking what people are doing on their land :D but those are not dangerous to people and do not bite, just are flying super close and there are a lot of them. There are some toilets on the field (that were surprisingly clean), dedicated spot for grilling with your own grill

This is a huge area for walking, resting and sports. Always clean. There are a closed area for dog training 😊 and a picnic area. I've only been here at autumn and winter so far. Considering that this is an open field, the wind is almost always present here))) Very beautiful and unusual sky. I wish there were more benches to rest.

This is the best use of an airport from Germany’s dark past. This is a great place to go running, biking, skateboarding and roller blading. You can even fly a kite here. It’s a beautiful space in Berlin

Very nice historical place for various activities, you can sit on the grass under the trees (not too many trees though) or ride your bike, skate, etc. And it is lovely place to see the sunset.
