We have had various visits in this hospital, overall an OK experience, but our visit today at the midwifery department was disappointing. We had an appointment to discuss our baby's birth at their facilities. The lady that serviced us was impolite, intimidating and inhumane. She shamed me for not being able to speak German, denied helping us in English (in the beginning) however she switched to very good English a few minutes later in the conversation when she realised we were not really gonna take it and were ready to leave. We heard some good things about the birthing department in this hospital but after today's experience, we decided not to give birth to our baby there.

I give it 3 stars. The staff earned 4-5 depending on the area. 5 stars definitely for the delivery room teams, thank you again for your efforts! Now to the negative points: the hygiene in the sanitary area is really bad, see photos. Some of the technology is very outdated, we had to vacate a room because the room emergency call was broken and made loud, strange noises. The technicians couldn't solve the problem either. No wonder, the devices look like they are from the middle of the last century. It's just saving money. Speaking of which: the photo with the food says more than a thousand words. How should such a recovery process be promoted? By the way, Iā€™m describing the childrenā€™s clinic here. If they aren't worth anything to us, all we have to do is keep saving...

We had to take my 1-year-old granddaughter to the emergency room in the evening because she was constantly vomiting. After a patient wait of 5(!) hours, my daughter politely asked when it would finally be our turn. They said there were 2 more patients ahead of us (if there were no emergencies!). After another hour, 6 hours now, and a toddler who was still constantly vomiting and now apathetic, I asked again how long they planned to keep us waiting. "I know you've been waiting the longest out of everyone! But you're next!" We weren't actually planning on winning the longest wait award. We just wanted my sick grandchild to finally be treated like all the other children who arrived hours after us, running through the halls laughing and being treated hours before us! They then made us wait for another hour. It's hard to believe, but in the end they made a 1 year old toddler - who vomited every few minutes - wait for 7 hours - in words: SEVEN (!!!) hours! This is unbelievable and still leaves me speechless! In the media you always see people attacking the staff after just an hour of waiting and we wait patiently for 7 hours. There is something wrong! Speaking of which: a changing table would be very useful in a children's emergency room. I'm not even talking about a nursing room!

Honestly, I can't say anything bad. The service is normal, the reception is fast, everything related to health is perfectly fulfilled. It is one of the best clinics in Berlin for kidney treatments.

If I can give zero šŸŒŸ. It could be better. This is the worsted hospital in Berlin. If you have an emergency. Don't go to st Joseph hospital Tempelhof. You will loose your life. Waiting time of 2 hours midnight 1am.. Very rude nurses. Unprofessional.

A pity Now this once good hospital can no longer be recommended. My cousin also gave birth here and was also very disappointed. The entrance area is very dirty...a shame. The doctor didn't come to my daughter for follow-up care. My original comment was deleted, this is a compact version. The midwives are the heroes here Big praise to all midwives and staff in the delivery room

Avoid if you do not speak German. Some of the staff were incredibly rude and made an effort to make me feel stupid. Refused to xray my arm when my cast was taken off, despite me still having a lot of pain in my wrist. This meant I had to go to a different(more competent) hospital to get an xray. No clear instructions on how to follow up with wrist injury. Terrible experience.

Written in February 2024: I am totally satisfied with the pediatric surgery. The doctors were very friendly and always took the time to explain everything and answer questions. I am grateful for the knowledge and professionalism that enabled our child to live a symptom-free life. The rooms were always clean. The hospital is getting old, but we always felt like we were in good hands. Unfortunately, the experience in the emergency room is not that good. There were almost always very long waiting times until you were admitted and then until you were treated. But the treatments were always good and correct. The food in the room was varied and ok (from tasty to so good). I found dinner very one-sided. I also had consistently positive experiences in the delivery room. I was taken into account. The sisters I met on different wards were almost all very friendly, in a good mood and did their best to make the stay as pleasant as possible. There are parking spaces, but since the hospital is in a residential area, there are times when you have to search longer. The hospital is easily accessible by bus.

My review refers to the delivery room because we (unfortunately) chose this hospital for the birth of our son because of the emergency ward for infants. I am aware that there is a shortage of staff, especially over the holidays. But that is no justification for being unkind. Especially when it comes to the delivery room reception. Even worse than the reception was the fact that we had three different midwives from labor to birth, all of whom had relatively little time for us and who also administered the epidural far too late. In addition, we received very stupid comments and questionable tips from the last midwife. In addition, you had to wait ages for everything, we waited an hour for a heating pad!! Our doctors, however, were very nice and competent. However, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this hospital to anyone for births.

We were transferred to the hospital because there was no space in the hospital we were in. Unfortunately, we had to line up and wait in the emergency room again at night. We received friendly service there and were kindly welcomed to ward 44 by Sister Christiane at night. I thought it was particularly great that my husband was allowed to accompany us to the room. I would like to positively highlight the sisters on the ward, especially Sister Janett and a young, short-haired and slim woman. The nurses from ward 44 deserve 5 stars. Unfortunately, the hospital itself is very run down. The equipment is very old and the food is terrible.

We visited the emergency room 3 times. And all of the times, we were just waiting for 5 to 6 hours as the doctor was unavailable. We then decided to drive 15 minutes more to another hospital rather than wait for such duration. They either are badly managed or badly staffed.

I had big hopes since apparently is the best hospital in Berlin to give birth. If you don't speak German don't even try it, serious. Culture is very German style, commanding, intimidating and non empathetic. Terrible experience. Only good thing was the two midwifes that came after the first two ended up their working hours. Without these 2 persons I'm confident the situation would have been a complete disaster. Thank you with all my heart for your help!

it is the worst hospital in Berlin I have ever been. We went there beacuse it was 8th of March and our pediatrician's office was closed. My son was sick (he had bacteria) He had fewer and and coughing a lot for the last 4 days. And the the doctor (she) said that "this is the emergency and you are taking my time, because of you I can not take care of the other urgent patient, you should have gone to your pediatrician." so what can I say, are they real doctors? After waiting 5 hours at the hospital (it is my waiting record at any hospital) You are expecting some good treatment but they are just trying to get rid of you...

I wish I could give them below zero ā€¦ very unprofessional staff as well as the Dr. We went for emergency as I was having extreme pain in my stomach. They checked and took my insurance card around 11 am . They asked us to wait outside and they will call us. It was around 5pm in the evening they havenā€™t called us and many patients who came after us were treated. Then we asked for our insurance card and they were making excuses and not ready to give. Any how we managed to get our insurance card from them. The same evening we took online appointment with the doctor on some online app. Got treated by the doctor in such a minimum cost and Got the prescription in 20 minutes. Please donā€™t go to this hospital in case if you are serious pain. You can visit if you have at least 14 to 15 hours. Worst staff including Doctors.

We've been to the Emergency 2 times, and both times it's been chaotic, conflicted staff and procedural lapses. Friday: My kid had fracture. Came, registered, waiting in the kinderwartenbereicht for 4 hours. Many of us had to remind the nurses that we are here waiting. Doctor comes after 4 hours and says "Ich habe vergessen" (he forgot). Then they do an XRay and say "There is a fracture, you must come back tomorrow 10AM to visit the hand surgeon". We come at 10AM next day (Saturday), register, wait, next doctor comes again and says "This hospital has no hand surgeons, don't waste your time here, you must go to another hospital". Uhh, but yesterday doctor said??? Whatever, fine. Doctor then says "You must take your XRay with you, go to the XRay room". OK, it's all right next, we are in raum 8, xray is raum 9, doctor walks past it hundred times. We go to Xray room, it has a big "closed on Sat/Sun" sign. We go back and ask, nurses say "Why are you waiting here, it says clearly XRay is closed, we can't do anything". Uhh, but doctor said??? There are big employee conflicts and procedural issues in this hospital. Nurses, doctors ā€“ all work in the same space opposite to each other, but they don't like talking to each other. You can see the internal employee conflicts, because it affects you. Nurse doesn't pass registration to doctor. Doctor doesn't know the hospital has no hand surgeon and makes you come back and waste half day. Next doctor doesn't know XRay is closed on Sat/Sun. It's a complete, chaotic place. I do not recommend going to the Emergency here.

Wonderful experience with St. Joseph Krankenhaus. I was here with my 2.5 years old daughter as she was severe sick and we were admitted here for 4 days. Doctors were wonderful and the staff was always helpful and kind. Itā€™s rare to find doctor & staff that combines such personal touches and care for a patient as a person with outstanding quality of medical care. I am so glad I chose St. Joseph Krankenhaus and would highly recommend to anyone. Thanks St. Joseph Krankenhaus team šŸ™

I'm deeply grateful for my first child's birth experience at St. Joseph. The positive energy from Prof. Dr. Abou-Dakn and Stillberaterin Bettina Kraus during the info Abend convinced me to choose this hospital. I encountered some challenges during and after the birth, but our week-long stay in the hospital was made remarkable by the very friendly, helpful, and extremely professional midwives and doctors. The collective effort of this dedicated team shaped my exceptional experience at St. Joseph, thank you very much to everyone (doctors, midwives, anesthesiologists, specialists, cleaning ladiesā€¦) and I wholeheartedly recommend St.Joseph to any expectant mom who seeks for a great birth experience ā¤ļø

Impressions from the rescue center: "taken in" after an hour of waiting in the hallway, doctors then appear every 2 hours who don't take you seriously and know everything better than you notice in your own body. An uncontrolled and uncoordinated hustle and bustle of patients, nurses, doctors and paramedics. Background noise like in a wholesale market + airport. Everything seems dingy, outdated - walls, doors, furniture. If I could give grades, the SJK would get a 17 so they know how far away they are from a 6. Unfortunately, one has to add that these are the effects that Lauterbach & Co. are subject to austerity constraints.

We welcomed our twins at SJK in June via planned c-section. Our five days stay was nothing but wonderful, looking back at this experience, my husband and I are beyond touched by the kindness, dedication and commitment from every single staff (doctors/nurses/anesthesiologists/midwives/specialists/cleaning ladies) we have encountered. The hospital is severely understaffed hence everyone is working above and beyond their capacity. For those who complained about the hospital food and dinner schedules: THIS IS A HOSPITAL, not a hotel or retreat. I ordered food to the address of our ward and problem solved. Again, we feel truly lucky to have our babies start their lives in St. Joseph. Thank you!

In this hospital, you can see the collapse of the German health service through a lens. I will never forget what I experienced in the Urology ward! I don't want to go into detail because it would take a long time to write, but the situations were like a horror movie. Never again!!!

After birth, our baby was transferred from another hospital to the neonatal unit for one night. Rooming-in was not possible. The first attempts at breastfeeding had to take place on a chair in the middle of a room with several babies and were only accompanied by shouting. Since I could only sit on a hard recliner (12 hours after delivery) as nothing else was provided, no rebonding or real skin-to-skin contact was possible. The other mother, whose baby was in the room, was pushed down the bed every day and was given some privacy through screens. In addition, the baby could always be on her chest. Unfortunately, we learned from our pediatrician that there is a great deal of unequal treatment in the children's clinic between those giving birth from their own home and those who have been transferred from other hospitals. Furthermore, we were ā€œkicked outā€ right in front of the U2, even though the Easter holidays were approaching and our pediatrician was on vacation. A medical discharge interview did not take place. Nurse Rosie ā€œdismissedā€ us, even though the head doctor during the visit advocated for another night because the infusion had only been stopped shortly before. Unfortunately, we were not allowed to hear anything about breastfeeding or bonding friendliness or ā€œpassion for lifeā€.

I could give zero stars if it was an option. Spend seven hours and half there, but didn't receive any medical treatment, not even examined by a certified doctor. Only some nurses and medical students playing role of God. And when I objected to my situation they tried to intimidate me. When they saw it didn't work, they even lied to me. Finally I got sent home in pain, still suffering from the symptoms I originally had. In the ER, there were patients in beds left in the corridor with no attention. It reminded me of rural hospitals in non-developed countries. Overall, a nightmarish and surreal experience. Never go there if you have another option. You gonna get mocked, but not treated...

Broken hand, emergency room on Sunday, staff was very nice, Yes, I also had to wait 3 hours for everything including an X-ray, a cast, and a consultation with the doctor... That will NEVER change if some helicopter parents or the well-known rock ladies from... with 6 children or some kind of cough and cold block the rescue center. Just because they are too stupid or too lazy to go to the pediatrician as usual 12 hours later. Unfortunately, you cannot ā€œscreen outā€ these at reception.

(Translated by Google) My son had an outpatient operation here. Super great doctor and the nurses are all so warm and understanding, thank you! A star deduction goes to the facility that is getting on in years and the uncomfortable chair on which you sit as an accompanying person. With a toddler who prefers to lie in their arms instead of in bed, it is simply uncomfortable in the long run. The walls are really nicely painted and decorated with self-painted pictures of patients.

Sharing my experience (biased) - we came with an emergency at 2am. Immediately we got prescreened. We got treated well and friendly. Did it take 5 hours in total? Yes. Am I happy about it? No. Do I think this should affect my rating? Yes, so one star is gone. But we needed help and got it. The waiting room could be cleaner, but I don't know what happened during that day. You can get snacks and drinks. The lady at the entrance called us a cab and notified us as it arrived. Overall - no one likes hospitals and I have no comparison but feel deep respect for the staff.

Emergency room catastrophic with 40 fever and pain under the right costal arch / flank. Waited 2 hours to register and another 3 hours until you were examined!! A bladder infection was diagnosed and I was not given any antibiotics and was still discharged with a fever!! And nothing was said, they can go! Since it didn't get any better the next day, I waited another 3 hours until an orthopedist came and said he couldn't help without having been examined and only looking at the report from the day before, so I was still discharged with a fever of 40 and extreme pain They were taken to the AVK and action was taken immediately!! Fever-reducing medication is now well over 40 degrees and CT is done, where inflammation in the large and small intestines, inflammation of the bladder and urinary tract and a pinched nerve in the costal arch are found!!! That's why the St Joseph Hospital gets 1 star and another report to the medical association for failing to provide assistance!!!! Best regards

I went there with severe pain in my chest, back and shoulder and the resulting shortness of breath. I had to wait 1 1/2 hours until I could log in. And and after again I waited 1 1/2 hours for the treatment and then left! When I asked when it would be my turn because I was in pain, they said I had no idea. Maybe there were people with urgent problems. In the other hospital they were diagnosed with severe pneumonia, pleurisy and water in the lungs.

I had surgery on my knee. The entire experience throughout the entire process was a very good one - from admission preparation, implementation, care and care. The people were very nice, helpful and accommodating. You have to accept more or less waiting time. But I think that's the case everywhere when it comes to prioritizing and managing patients. To be honest, I don't know how much better (under the circumstances) you could do it yourself.

Yes, the hospital could use a renovation and yes, you may have to spend some time in the emergency room and yes, the food is just hospital food. But it's all made up for by the great staff at St. Joseph. From the friendly cleaning staff to the warm and committed nursing staff to the competent doctors, everyone tries to make the patient's time as pleasant as possible and to help as best they can.

Geburt dort gehabt.

Very nice and supportive staff. The COVID restrictions made the initial labour process orders of magnitude more difficult than necessary. But after moving to the birthing room everything is normal and performed well.

(Translated by Google) I was only there for one day. (Operation with general anesthesia, waking up and relaxing and going home in the evening) Without exception, all employees were super friendly, competent and everything was excellently organized. Felt very well treated there! FĆ¼hlte mich dort sehr gut behandelt!

I can say without any hesitation that this hospital has great Surgeons and Doctors. My wife had peritonitis which due to some reason was hard to be diagnosed. Here, doctors immediately diagnosed it and did an emergency surgery. She was in ICU for a week but eventually came out fine. Dr Butner and Head of the surgery were amazing. They were super skilled, kind and so nice. I highly recommend this hospital (specially in complicated situations).

Competent and humane doctors who make an effort at understanding your condition, no where you will find this in Berlin/Germany in general. Thank you for your efforts.

I went to the emergency room with my wife for the first time on Sunday afternoon because she was diagnosed with pneumonia by a doctor who came home on Sunday night. The staff was very incomprehensible that she had only come to the emergency room with an infection. Instead of taking an x-ray. It was only at the end when inflammation values ā€‹ā€‹were determined that there was something there. She should come back when she feels worse instead of acting straight away. Yesterday at 6:30 p.m. we went back because she had a lot of blood in her saliva several times. Again the staff was very rude when registering. Everyone would be afraid in the situation and go to an emergency room. They left her lying there until 4 a.m., completely forgotten, while others who came after her had already left. In the end, the pneumonia was confirmed. You don't have to be treated like that.

My father was taken to the emergency room yesterday and I have to honestly say the doctor's assistants and nurses at the emergency room were very nice, very polite, very friendly and very helpful. As a companion, I was allowed to come in and see how my father was doing, without any discussion, without complaining, without becoming aggressive, and I thought that was very, very good about the hospital Now I come to ward 17. The nurse and the doctor were very helpful, very nice, very polite and explained everything the patient had.

I would give it 0 if that were a possibility. We were referred from another hospital to the child ward due to a lack of beds elsewhere - no wonder there was space here, everyone else was clearly aware of the poor service and care on offer. Arrived later at night, got to the ward at 04.00 in the morning as our small baby had gastroenteritis. Started with the first nurse mocking our use of reusable nappies when she thought we were out of earshot. No clothes or sleeping bags in his size, so nothing to keep him warm while sleeping. We were there for 12 hours overall (left of our own accord) - other than a warm pad for his belly, we received absolutely nothing. Honestly might as well have stayed at home. Contradicting messages throughout, had to wait 2 hours for the summary paper before leaving, and when we got it, most of the information on it was wrong. Terrible, terrible service and would implore any body who needs help to travel outside of Berlin to Cottbus or similar rather than go here with there child.

They don't even deserve 1 star! We waited for 6 hours with my 2 sick children and they told us to wait again. But they were sitting idle inside.

Hello dear readers! I would now also like to report on my experiences and increase the number of stars. I went to St. Joseph Ward 20 for the bone marrow puncture and can only report positive things. The phone call (appointment) for the preliminary consultation was very friendly and made me feel more reassured and confident I had interpersonal experiences in another university hospital that brought tears to my eyes, and not because of emotion. The preliminary discussion at JosepKH with Dr. M. for the bone marrow puncture allowed me to breathe a sigh of relief again and I felt understood and in good hands. During the stay was also here The entire team of doctors and nurses is friendly, approachable and always approachable at all times. No matter who entered the room, they introduced themselves in a friendly manner and announced further procedures and examinations and discussed them with me. I have to admit that I was very afraid of the pain of the CM, but the lovely team of nurses picked me up well and patiently explained everything to me and accompanied me through the procedure. Thank you for that. Thank you for having people like you.

We gave birth to our first child at St. Joseph Hospital in February. A big thank you to the entire team at the maternity clinic! From the moment we first showed up to register until we were discharged from the children's ward, we were looked after in an incredibly friendly, empathetic and highly professional manner by the entire team and felt completely at ease and in very good hands. The information event (which took place online) was extremely informative and well organized compared to other large hospitals in Berlin. During the birth we were looked after by (really unbelievable!) sensitive midwives who made it possible for me to experience a natural birth without any intervention. The maternity clinic is extremely well organized, from the information event to the delivery room to the children's ward. Therefore, a huge thank you to the entire team for an unforgettable, positive birth experience!

Unfortunately, I had to have two operations on my arm at St. Joseph Hospital by Prof. Grƶne due to a wound infection. I have rarely seen such a good doctor as Prof. Grƶne. His calm, emphatic, friendly manner gives you a lot of confidence alongside his professional skills. He explains everything clearly and listens to everything calmly. This also affects his team. The surgical team at St. Joseph is really great. The same applies to the nursing staff in ward 8. Above all, the nun. Many thanks to everyone who took great care of me.

šŸ˜  I believe that when a person wants to work in a hospital they should be fit to do so. The red hair nurse that I went to do the registration at the clinic was extremely rude and disrespectful.
