Brunch at this restaurant is something special. There is a very tasty selection of sausages and cheeses, but also a lot of fresh fruit and vegetables. Ice cream dishes and plenty of warm side dishes. Desserts and cakes are also delicious. Even the Kaffeauswagl was quite large and tasty 😋. The only disadvantage is that the restaurant is located in the middle of the Berlin Zoo (so entrance to the zoo has to be paid extra). But if you go to the zoo, you should definitely stop by here, if not, even start here. This way you can explore the entire area afterward. Gladly again

Flabby food, poor hygiene, no ambience. Janz great. You can tell that some of the food is lucky because it belongs in the bin rather than in the stomach. Where you can't tell is where there's dirty aluminum foil over it. The crowning achievement for a Berliner like me is to sell a bockwurst that has seen the flame for a few seconds as a currywurst... And that with cardboard fries for €8.50. If you put the prices in relation to that, that would be the case in other cities The health department and the public prosecutor's office will take care of it. The zoo shows that there is another way. And I think the same operator is there. Tomorrow we're going to the zoo in Leipzig - I'm really excited because the operator is also Marché Mövenpick.

In such a big zoo in such a huge city like Berlin it's ridiculous to have opening hours just on weekends. Like humans don't eat on week days.

Today I visited the zoo and I decided not to have breakfast at home but to have breakfast at the zoo in this cafe. So I didn't take any food with me. I came here at 10:30 and I was really hungry. There was a lot of food but there weren't any prices! I had to find a worker and I asked her how I could choose dishes without prices. I asked 2 people but they couldn't help me. The 3rd person could explain me that I had to ask a worker a price of every dish. It was so inconvenient. No prices. You had to ask the price of every dish. I was so hungry and stressed because of the situation that I ended up standing in the cafe crying. There was a lot of delicious food around me but I didn't know the prices so I couldn't order anything. I didn't order anything. It was one of the worst experiences in my life. 😧 Also they told me that they have breakfasts from 11am. But in the photo you can see that breakfasts are from 9 to 11 am.

When you visit the zoo, you naturally get hungry sometimes. At least that's how it was for us. The Waldschänke was a welcome rest stop. The ambience is adapted to the wilderness touch of the park and feels cozy. Food is available for pickup - order at the counter. Pay at the checkout and go to the table. Has a bit of a canteen feel. What comes on the plate is really tasty. In terms of price, everything is within the normal range. Ideal for taking a short break from admiring the animals with your family.

Really friendly staff. Good range of food. Perfect setting for kids, and to start your day at the zoo. Full buffet breakfast. €17 each, and kids eat free! Includes bottomless coffee! The staff member went out of his way to help us and explain what was on offer.

Great staff, very friendly and attentive. Bratwurst was tasty, well made and good in size. Fries were crispy and fresh. The place offers nice portions, with fresh ingredients and good variety.

Excellent food! Try the baked potato, you won’t be disappointed. The cafe is nice for visitors who don’t speak German because you can see all of the food as you walk through. 10/10 recommend

Canteen-style food with restaurant prices. Neither bad or good, it's just kind of expensive for what you actually get. Location is convenient, staff is friendly and helpful, and plenty of healthy food options were available as well.

As usually in these places all you can get is deep fried food. The staff wasn't very attentive or motivated. It is overpriced and functional. Pack your lunch and you will be fine.

Food is decent and there is some variety other than usual sausage and fries, but it is a bit expensive. The inside sitting area is quite cramped as bulky tables and chairs are placed too close to each other. Especially the difficulty you experience while trying to move around with a buggy makes me think that this place was not well-designed for kid friendliness.

Breakfast there is great! During the week you can eat your fill at the breakfast buffet for €17.90 (tip: save another 10% with an annual pass!). All hot drinks and apple juice/orange juice are included. Fresh scrambled eggs, sausages, pancakes, rolls, cold cuts, salmon, muffins, soup, yogurt, salads... Really delicious! And the staff is super nice :)

We've been here several times. Always a good idea for breakfast followed by a visit to the zoo. The breakfast is 👍 and the staff is very friendly 😊. Unfortunately, the volume in the restaurant increases significantly after 11 a.m.

I love going there for brunch and it's great! The price is completely okay, a great selection of food and warm drinks are included. This way you can start your day at the zoo strengthened.

We have always been to the zoo but it is our first time trying their breakfast buffet! It is a must-try, especially the pancakes and the mushroom. We enjoy our breakfast so much, and will definitely come back. And special thanks to Marco, he was so friendly and kind.

Had the blandest Currywurst of my life here. Tasteless chicken sausage and an absolutely uninspired sauce. But otherwise nice spot to sit and eat.

Well, for a restaurant inside a zoo garden is ok, not very cheap not very expensive. It is convenient that it's placed near a playground.

  • 3/5 Rino K. 3 years ago on Google
For Berlin it's definitely overpriced and not the finest quality food. But then again, it's more of a canteen than a restaurant and you shouldn't expect too much. I'd suggest you just have a drink or a coffee... or a plate of french fries, if you really must bridge before your next proper meal. The nearby playground is fabulous!

It’s joyful to have breakfast/brunch here. Especially for annual zoo ticket owners, except for all you can eat, there’s 10% discount. It’s totally worth it to have the breakfast buffet here. Highly recommend!

👍 The queue can get really long in a very short amount of time. We were lucky and waited for about 5 minutes before placing our order.
