A restaurant that does not need reviews. Still have to review it, was an experience of being back in India everything that was served it had the exact taste as it would be in India!! If you love South Indian food you should go there!! The owner is very kind and friendly!! Staff is super humble and nice!! 22.09.2021 We went there again after reading the negative reviews. So my verdict reviews seem to be just negative without any reason!! Nice Musik and people enjoying food!! Restaurant was full inside and people were waiting outside. Not a single restaurant in Berlin can provide authentic food like this one and service very good once again very friendly staff!! If a restaurant has reached its maximum capacity then it does take a bit time to get food and that happens in every restaurant on this earth. First of it‘s kind in Berlin where one can see an Indian Restaurant full of Indians!!

A must-visit in Berlin for the Desi-at-heart. (+) located excellently at the Potsdamer Platz, with great connectivity. (+) lively surroundings. (+) beautiful, modern exteriors and interiors; infact, one of the best interiors for a Saravanaa Bhavan. (+) the staff is mostly a younger team than other branches. (-) food quality is below-average and diluted. (-) completely unworthy of the money spent. (-) quite long waiting times, without any arrangements for the people waiting outside. (-) the staff is disinterested and indifferent to the customers already seated inside. (-) seating arrangement is cramped. (-) toilet/restroom condition is poor and utterly unhygienic.

I would say that, the customer service here is very disappointing. The some Staffs, who works there were really rude and unfriendly. During last visit, We've ordered Mushroom briyani and paneer 65 in which, paneer 65 isn't coated well and salt is not evenly mixed. When we called One staff and conveyed it, she just got irritated and didn't say a word and took the plate(what do we have to think? She'll replace it or do we have to consider it as a return?). At the same time, the same Staff smiled and served German customers without any irritation or hesitation. Then, why are they treating their people as if they are eating for free? Such partiality, will drive more people away. Regardless of the customers Nationality, the Restaurant should strive to treat all the customers equally. Visited 4 times from time to time. Only the first, (which was a year ago) the food and customer service was good. But now both has detoriated too much. Better not to visit again.

For a good food quality and absolutely amiable conditions and surroundings. Unfortunately I have to give only three Star because of very very very poor service. This has been full with guests - a lot of local Indians - quite good to see now growing in Germany! We ordered few items and many of there were forgotten despite asking 3-4 times! Your people might remember from Sunday the 28.05! Sparking water, tea, filter coffee and cutlery!!! Everything was forgotten ;-(

Loved it. Food is really great as usual. The only authentic south Indian restaurant in Berlin. There are lots of dishes to relish. Price is also nominal. Conveniently placed in Potsdamer Platz. It took some time to get the food probably because we went on the first day.

Have been here twice. Once went here on new year morning for brunch. It was completely full and chaotic. Probably because of the special day. The service that day was bad and we were also a little hungover so easily irritated. Next time I went on a Friday morning and it was completely empty and the service and food both were really really good. So I am going to give good rating because I have seen the good side of this place. Also who serves a South Indian coffee in traditional cups in Germany. So I will give full rating for the authenticity and nostalgia:)

Finally after years of waiting, Berlin gets its true blue South Indian restaurant. The location is fantastic and the food served is as close as it can get to real South Indian food. Have always been a big fan of their food since ages. Since the initial hype is high, would suggest everyone to be ready for a fair waiting time to be seated. However once inside, the staff are doing their best to cater to all the guests.

It's a great South Indian vegetarian restaurant. There is a various choice of dishes. The food we ordered was served very fast. The girls that served were super friendly :) Everything was very tasty, some things were quite spicy, but yogurt helped. Don't miss to try Indian coffee. Very tasty. It is served with sugar, so mention if you don't want it. Visit this restaurant :)

This place in Potsdamer Platz, Berlin takes me back to India & truly reminds of the authentic South Indian Cuisine. The food here is scrumptious and a treat to your tastebuds. The restaurant comes with a wide spread of both North Indian & South Indian Cuisine. The staff are extremely friendly and you would be awestruck with the quick service. If you are looking for some good Indian vegetarian food your search ends here !!!

Great location and food was great with the authentic Saravanan Bhavan touch on it. Service and order management need to be improved but it’s too short time to rate on it. We hope they will give their best in coming days. Highly recommended 😃😃

We went on the first weekend of opening. Despite a very very busy restaurant, there was no waiting, food was excellent, hot and fresh. The staff is super friendly and hard working. Kudos to the staff

This restaurant is fully vegetarian and vegan. They have a big variety of dishes in their menu from different regions in India. I liked the food, it was very tasty and the size pf their portions were good as well. This is a very popular place so make sure you have a reservation before going otherwise you have to wait to find a table but it is definitely worth it. Delicious restaurant!

Pros - The food is really good. Last month i tried the same in Amsterdam and now this one is Berlin is even better. The staff is super friendly and quite cheerful. Cons - During peak hours like weekends, the service is very slow. My wifes meal came, she ate, the empty plate was even gone and still my food didn't arrive. Then we enquired and my food came then immediately. We ordered a sweet dish which again came after my meal was over, plate taken. So taking away 1 star, Overall the place, food and the staff is excellent. Note: Currently they are only allowing Recovered and Vaccinated. No only tested folks are allowed.

One of the best restaurants in Berlin for really tasty Indian food. They have all South Indian and north Indian dishes. I would recommend to try madras filter coffee ☕️ and dosa, which are my favorite at this restaurant. Good service and friendly staff, very reasonable price. Best Indian food with Indian music, being an Indian I would highly recommend if you like Indian food.

Maybe it was New Year’s Eve or maybe it was the head cook’s (aka chef’s) day off. The Rasam as starter flattered to deceive because what followed was a vegetable utappam and a carrot/onion/ tomato utappam served with chutneys that were white, red and pale green and so bland that I ate the utappam plain. The sambar was nowhere close to what a sambar is even in other restaurants in Berlin. In fact it was warm water with some spice in it. One does come across waiters who are new to the job and not very polite but here the rather youngish service crew were downright rude. They were snapping at other patrons who complained about the food not being served even after 15 minutes of waiting. It was hilarious hearing a waiter ask another about what a dahi vada was. I didn’t see any non Indian staff so presume these are either students working part time or waiters who know nothing about the dishes they’re serving.

The food is great and tasty, many vegetarian options. Delicious Mango Lassi. Authentic filter coffee. No tap water available, limited Drink options. Usually crowded, It's a good restaurant in general. You'll enjoy it here

This is one of the few restaurants where we can find South Indian food. Food is good and the pricing is bit on the higher side. For someone who had not tried Dosa in 2 years this was refreshing but not fully satisfactory. Manchurian was pretty good. I would definitely visit next time when I am in Berlin.

This is my second time. First time we ordered food and picked up. The place is crowded. But we didn't wait for long time to sit down. Staff was nice. And the most important thing, food was delicious. Loved it.

What should I say ? This is just "that" place to go for delicious vegetarian Indian cuisine. This place has a lot of dishes and man their are woohoo. It is well visited and you should not expect a quiet place. But if you are up for real good food in and nice atmosphere, then you are just right. And hey, give the service some credits for serving so many people and still keeping a friendly manner.

Saravanaa Bhavan in Berlin is a true South Indian vegetarian delight! The taste of their dishes is as authentic as it gets, especially their special dosa. The restaurant boasts a pleasant ambience, making it a great spot for a meal. Prices are reasonable, given the extensive menu options. For a genuine South Indian culinary experience in Berlin, Saravanaa Bhavan is the place to be.

Enjoyed the experience. A waiter that spoke hardly English, a lengthy menu with 323 items not counting the drinks and without any clear explanation, all sort of Indian traditional dishes turned vegetarian. We could only expect a lot of surprises. The service was a bit chaotic but quick with waiters asking us again and again what we wanted to order but it was all in good spirit and we even had a taste of a dessert -Rava kesari before ordering something else. We ordered the North Indian Tali which was basically some round dough with all sort of dipping, some salty, some sharp and even a sweet one. Enjoyed the richness of all the taste and I though it was an interesting dish. We also had Noodle with mushroom which was also good but less special. I though it strange to have it with ketchup on the plate which is probably not a traditional Indian sauce. For drinks we add mango Lassi which was good For dessert we had a Falooda. Even the waiter did not know what it was which is not a surprise with 323 items! Anyway, it had ice cream, not exactly sure which flavors, red tapioca, green tapioca and red pasta at the bottom. Not sure what to make out of this but certainly an culinary surprise. Not the top of the culinary world but a great fun evening with some new food combinations to remember. Not expensive and worth the visit.

As someone that isn't a huge fan of Americanized Indian food, my experience was a pleasant one. I enjoyed all of the verity (did I hear they have over 154+ dishes 😲😲😲 Sorry, I have no idea why my Indian friends ordered for us (mix of northern and southern dishes), but I really enjoyed it. I recommend trying it

Fantastic as always. My dad is visiting Berlin with me, and we ate here every single day we’ve been here (5 days). Everything on the menu is spectacular and very consistent. Love it here! Will be back constantly while I’m staying here over the next couple of months.

I have experienced both, the food in the restaurant and also take out. It serves pretty decent south Indian food. But I beg to differ when it comes to other types of cuisines. I recently thought of trying the "Chinese" or indo Chinese options. I ordered szechuan fried rice. The taste is far from judging but it didn't look like how it was supposed to as well. It makes sense to make things that you are really good at. Why serve things you can't make properly. Isn't it better for business?

Without a doubt: a very good restaurant. I was a bit anxious that I would miss the meat, but my daughter insisted on that we should eat here. Good that my wife and I listened to her. Very good dishes, very polite and friendly staff. And a big surprise for us in the end. A big thank you from the coffee girls parents! We will definitely eat here again next time we are in Berlin!

Go here only for the sake of delicious food. Don’t expect good service. Don’t expect normal portion size (see the attached picture for tiny serving of sambhar with dosa). But I would recommend you to endure all this because the food is really good. Food: 5/5 Service: 1/5 Ambience: 3/5 Value for money: 4/5

Authentic and tasty South Indian vegetarian food. The people were really nice and super helpful. Hope the restaurant pays them well for all the hard work they put. And not like how they pay for the same restaurant in India. Try everything dosa here. The starters are too good, the gobi 65 is really authentic. It gets really crowded in the evenings

Visited on Saturday afternoon around 16H. It was a bit crowded but still able to get seats without a reservation. The food is authentic South Indian food (according to a friend from South India). It tastes delicious! The staffs speak good English and are nice! We waited 20 mins for the food but it was okay. It was a nice experience! Food: 4.5/5 Service: 3.5/5 Price:$ Waiting time: no wait without a reservation Payment: cash/card

Sometimes you miss a desi touch to your food palette and that is why Saravana Bhavan exists. Visited the place today only to go back home happy that both our tummies & hearts were full. We ordered the following & here is the review 1. Special Madras Coffee: Aced it but the sugar was slightly on the higher side. If you are not someone who likes the coffee with sugar please make sure your mention it. 2. Rava Masala Dosa: Nailed it. The dosa was perfectly crisp and paired really well with the chutneys (dips) it came with. 3. Butter Naan: Again tasted perfect. 4. Paneer Butter Masala & Paneer Gobi Fry: the dishes tasted good but the only caveat being that it came with a portion of rice. (This is a norm in Berlin and we should have noted this before. Not the restaurants fault at all. If you are visiting the place, it’s best to keep this in your mind) The restaurant offered us takeaway boxes to help us pack the rice ourselves though. Overall, brilliant place to visit if you want to treat your taste buds to some Indian spice. The menu is all vegetarian and the restaurant doesn’t accept reservations on weekends. So please be prepared for a short wait before the staff can get you table.
