Wonderful full-service supermarket, where you can get anything from veggies and fruit to gourmet foods. Excellent selection of wines from around the world, including Israeli wines, kosher section, ethnic foods section and lots of things that are hard to find in REWE or Edeka. Best of all -- they're open on Sundays!!!

I've been in food stores, shops and supermarkets all over the world. But Ulrich's takes the biscuit. It's not a pretty boutique or a fashionable food shop. It looks shabby, it's a bit smelly, very cramped and yet very big. The doors are cracked and broken and open out to an area where people gravitate who clearly have hit rock bottom. Yet the bread is fresh and tasty, everything is easily locatable, prices are reasonable and the variety of good quality produce is immense. The clientele is rude and impatient but the staff are saints, especially the cashiers who work under a huge amount of pressure yet are always kind and polite and helpful and work diligently with grace and dignity. I'm proud to have shopped here.

Don't go on Sunday unless you like crowds of people and waiting in line for 30 min. It's not the store's fault though that everything is closed for some reason. I think it's admirable that they open.

Life saver on May Day. We queued up around the block, really scary and never ending one but it was related fast. Inside, everything was also pragmatic and fast which is nice. Big selection, almost comparable to Kaufland, would return more often if closer to home and cleaner entrance.

Cheap prices, but a lot of products that are expired, so check on the date on the product before buying. Also around the shop you will meet homeless people who are not so nice to meet of youre going late at the evening.

NEVER buy meat here, their standards are dangerously unsafe. They routinely sell rotten and spoiled meat with no regard for the customers health. This picture is just one example.

A really big supermarket with a huge variety on goods. Almost all day open. Fresh fruits and vegetables. Nice bakery. Sometimes it has strong smells.

Very good product selection and amazing schedule since they open until late but there’s always a woman at the checkout who acts rudely towards people who are not white/german speaking/looking. Her level of kindness and respect is drastically reduced when she sees a non white person (doesn’t greet the customer, almost throws the receipt at you, looks you up and down). This of course doesn’t make me want to shop there.

The place is usually crowded but you get a lot of variety of grocery here and the best part is that the shop is open on Sunday. There are cash counters on both sides of the shop but still has a huge line. Please consider this when visiting.

It's one of the few supermarkets open on Sunday in Berlin. You can find anything you would expect in a big supermarket. It's really hectic during the weekend.

Very big Supermarkt opens all the days of the week even Sundays which I find it cool to go shopping if I ever forget to do on Fridays and Saturdays. Almost everything you need you'll find. I'd give it 5 stars but it's not clean very well or organised.

Product range wise, they have everything you need, and you don't need. As for cashier lines organization and the smells inside the shop... Dude come on, you can do some control. However, it is still my go to place for a Sunday shopping, since the shops that are open on Sunday are limited.

One of the few regular supermarkets in Berlin that are open on Sunday. They should tell an employee to tell the people in the cue to use all counters that will greatly reduce cues and improve the experience. Also they are losing money as some people resign from shopping due to the waiting time. Apart from that really good and great variety of products!

One of the few stores open on Sundays besides at the Friedrichstrasse station. Huge range and good places, also has cheap take away sushi which is real good. Awesome that it's open good Friday too

Very busy on a Sunday as it is one of the few supermarkets open in Berlin. It's a wonder they keep so well stocked throughout a Sunday, especially with such a wide range of products. Long queues at the checkout but that's to be expected.

A top class place foe grocery shopping. Everything is available in organized manner. Fruits and bakery items are fresh. A lot of varieties in products selection. Recommended for day to day shopping. It is open even in Sunday, which is a top notch service from this particular place.

Customers appreciate the variety of products available at the multi-supermarket, but there's room for improvement in aisle signage for better navigation. The staff is generally helpful, but a quicker checkout process would enhance the overall shopping experience. The cleanliness is commendable, creating a pleasant environment for shoppers.

Great that you can shop also on Sundays, it saved us quite often! The sushi quality has gone not downhill, worse, the rice is just a big blob, tasteless and super heavy, plus the genius who changed the chopsticks to an oval form should be fired on the spot!

  • 4/5 Eleonora E. 4 months ago on Google • 18 reviews
The supermarket is a bit crowded, but you will find everything that you need here. Also, the sushi was decent.

Positive: affordable products Negative: stood 10 to 15 minutes in line with only six people in front. Cashier entered half a dozen coupon codes manually for multiple minutes

  • 4/5 Michelle C. 1 year ago on Google
You can find all you need and the prices are good also they have several cost in one line of products depending the quality or brand you choose. It is a crowded place and once a guy tried to steal my phone there so be cautious on there.

Great selection of food, open in Sunday and it's alot bigger than it looks from the outside. I thought it was just a Spati but it's a full on supermarket.

I often go there cuz I work in this neighbourhood. I experienced something extremely touching during lunchtime. I was paying and in front of me there was an old man. The cashier took her time to help him count coins and explained him things patiently. Then it was my turn and I told her that she was being really nice. She smiled back and told me the old man is a customer since decades and he now has dementia also lives alone. They all know him and they are all willing to help him if he pays for milk twice or he thinks he forgets to buy Rosine Brot but he actually did. I feel extremely touched to see the soft side of the Ullrich team. A lot of respects!

I love this place. Good products for relatively cheap prices. Check out lines are long and cashier staff are not very pleasant. Especially is you slow the lane. Don't forget to buy the sack, it'd not free or included but that's everywhere in Berlin

You can find a great variety of foods here. You have from cheap to fancy. Great selection of alcoholic drinks, like wine, whiskey, cognacs etc. Sont expect to find here, electric alliances, car accessories and hardware. Meat selection is also not very good since they don't have a butchery inside. The opening hours are great. I love this market.

Variety of products, good prices and it’s open on Sundays. But it gave me the feeling of not to be cleaning, specially by the entrance area 😬

  • 4/5 Ayodhya P. 2 years ago on Google
Variety of food and other items are available. But bit pricey comparing to the other supermarkets. The wine and liquor collection is big.

  • 4/5 Erfan S. 2 years ago on Google
The best choice of goods among all supermarkets I've been to in Berlin but the longest check-out queues. I guess they could increase the number of open check-out registers. Also the prices are a bit higher than other supermarkets but I guess it is worth it since there is almost nothing you can't find there.

  • 3/5 Hugo A. 1 year ago on Google
Cheap and almost always open. Nasty floors on a Sunday night and ghetto people shopping, the line was huge even though they had many cashiers open. I would come again if nothing else is open.

Open on Sundays. But so annoying that you can only pay with the card at select counters. The lines are really long.

In case you need some groceries on weekends especially on Sundays (shops are closed on Sunday in Germany), this is a good place. They have a wild range of groceries, snacks, drinks, foods and so on. There's also a bakery inside. The only catch is that the shop is near the central railway station & it is almost always busy.

Ullrich's a trusty supermarket to find any item, 7 day's a week. Food shopping fun even when very crowded with tourists and local drunks. Also the place to go when looking for speciality wines you can't find in other supermarkets or high end Brandy and Cognac for those special occasions.

Nice and cold to cool off from the heat outside, lots of stuff but confusing where to find what. People at the till were super slow during rush hour! Self check out would help a lot!

Open Sundays which is great. Good selection. But enjoyable, it's not. Overrun with people who hang out around German train stations, understaffed, dingy, dirty, depressing.

  • 4/5 Stuart D. 1 year ago on Google
Exterior a bit shabby but great supermarket right next to the zoological garden station. Best place to go for gifts and food. Little bakery inside that was brilliant. Recommend the long sausage rollesque thing. Still not sure what it was but only regret was not buying 10 to bring back 😁

  • 4/5 José Manuel I. 1 year ago on Google
Huge variety of products. A little bit over the average price, specially when it comes to fruit and vegetables. Lots of homeless people around (nothing to fear btw, but you better be aware of the smell of pee at the entrance)
